Why taking a loan to only support wheat production? They have started again. What of the other cash crops? Cocoa? Oil Palm? Do they not also need support?

Miss Supranational kwa grin Though I feel she is beautiful. Edo babes are pretty without doubt. Look at teeth and eyes. Where is Godwin Obaseki?
It's a real mystery how a state that produces such fine babes, can then produce men like Oshimole and Obaseki! smiley

PoliticsRe: FG To Governors: Collaborate To Develop Regional Railway Infrastructure by bjdon: 12:28pm On Sep 08, 2023
igwebuike01:
FG is a big joke. Na so Tinubu go de shift responsibility? You take the resources from the state and share them peanuts but shift huge responsibility to them, are you kidding me? Even other resources that are not being explored are abandoned to illegal miners because you tied the hands of states. How dare you give them such big responsibility? Any serious state will focus on interconnecting all nooks and crannies the with good road from whatever peanut Abuja is willing to give them
I agree. More resources need to be allocated to the states and LGA's, so that they can take on more responsibilities. In all honesty things like Power, Rail, Airports, sea ports, should actually be states to manage. The FG is way too powerful and that's why nothing works in this country
PoliticsRe: Edo 2024: PDP Praises Shaibu For Withdrawing Lawsuit Against Obaseki by bjdon: 8:19am On Sep 08, 2023
Fear of Obaseki is the start of Wisdom.

A true 'Red Eye' Bini Man

Shaibu's brain has been reset to factory settings. Hopefully he will now behave himself going forward
PoliticsRe: G20 Tussle - Nigeria Rejects AU Membership Of G20, Seeks NIGERIAN Membership by bjdon: 8:07am On Sep 08, 2023
The simple question is 'How is G20 Membership determined'?

If it's by Nominal GDP then Nigeria should be there as it's GDP is higher than South Africa.

If it's by Per Capita Income then Nigeria should not be there as it's per capita is quite low. In simple terms even though we generate more revenue then SA, we have a much larger population to spread that across. Per Capital income is a much more accurate measurement of a nations welath.
PoliticsRe: Benin City Among The World's Most Beautiful Cities In The 15th Century! by bjdon: 7:59am On Sep 08, 2023
There were many great cities and cavillations in the past. The Mongols, the Incas of Peru, the Zulu...While it's important to know your past and where you came from, what's really important now is the present and future. If we do not invest in Education, infrastructure and create an enabling environment for investors, Edo will never come close to reclaiming it's lost glory
PoliticsRe: Yoruba True Love And Support For The Niger Delta People (opinion) by bjdon: 2:13pm On Sep 07, 2023
If you must refer to Benin, then can I gently correct you that Benin and Delta are Midwest. This contraption called South South just exists in peoples minds, it's not anywhere in the constitution. Midwest region was the only region created by democratic vote. . No true Edo person recognizes this 'South South' thing.

I however totally agree that Edo and Yoruba are about the closest ethnic groups in the south, we are practically cousins with lots of shared traditions(Although na Ijebu jazz get power pass our own! cheesy)

Everyone knows how overzealous our security people are when it comes to things like this.

For those who want to test their might it will become a case of one who wants to die meeting the one who wants to kill. They are both obliging each other.

Stay at home, drink your garri and make noise with your keyboard. These people are not worthy of anybody's blood.

A word is enough for the wise!
My brother, many died in the June12th riots, their families have never received a Kobo in compensation. Many of the people who were involved in crushing the June12th riots, are the same people still milking the nation today. NO Nigerian politician is worth dying for. NONE!

I supported and support PO.
However I want to STRONGLY urge the youth to be calm today whatever the outcome. PO's son will not be in any riot, Datti's son will not be in any riot.
If at all you must protest, look for peaceful ways to do it. Those killed in the EndSars protest are gone never to return. Those killed in the June 12th protests are gone never to return. Only their friends and family mourn them
PoliticsRe: What Is Really The Problem Between The Yorubas And The Igbos? by bjdon: 7:57pm On Sep 05, 2023
Just imagine how great Nigeria would be, if these to resourceful, and intelligent ethnic groups could unite and work together!

If Youruba and Igbo united we would NEVER again have a brainless fulani bigot like Buhari as president. Even if it was the turn of the North, the 2 groups with their combined power would be able to ensure it's the right kind of Northerner that became president.

it's really such a shame that both can't unite

the black person is very useless...they don't understand the world.... How can you tell me that for about 400 years since slavery the black people cannot build a single city around the world all what they do is to build churches and mosques up and down...

Black man is a disgrace to humanity... Nature rejects them...
Sadly I have to agree. I've been telling people the only hope for the black man is some kind of recolonization. Independence has been a disaster for the black man, he's simply not able to organize a modern society. He's thinking is trapped in the myopic base levels of tribe and religion. He's incapable of higher thought and aspirations.
Just google how much Belgium/Switzerland earn from chocolate, yet known of those countries produce cocoa. Real Shame!

I think we have the same points. The citizens are as good as their leaders. Terrible people, terrible leaders. However power is an instrument of change. If leadership cannot use power to cause society to be better, then there is a deep rooted problem.

In all leadership must be strong. Look at present great nations. They had strong leaders. When leaders are strong.
Fully agree. The saying goes 'The fish rots from the head'
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by bjdon: 1:03pm On Sep 05, 2023
gabicon:
I did my industrial training at warri refinery in 2008 and based on what I saw, I couldn't agree anymore with president Obasanjo. Apart from the four reasons shell gave, many of the equipments are comatose, the aviation fuel plant is a scrap yard, even if they manage to buy new equipments to replace the dead ones, they have to retrain all the staffs because the generation that got the refinery working are all retired, the people employed in the last 15 years don't know what it's like to have a working refinery. When we put all the cost of equipment, training and others together, it makes no sense for anyone or group to speculate that working refineries would bring down the price of petrol to #200/litre, only subsidies can make that possible.
It's people like you, I really like to hear from, people that have REAL knowledge of what they are talking about. Based on what you've said, it seems the best option is to sell off the 4 refineries to anyone that may buy them, else scrap them. We must NOT continue to waste money every year on so called 'Maintenance' projects which is nothing more than legal stealing.
The first proof of this will be when the PH refinery does not produce a drop of refined products next year, despite what the minister has boasted Hopefully then people will accept the truth.

EleventhWeirdo:
Regionalism should now be based on the six geopolitical zones with totally devolved powers from the center. The country should run as technically as a confederate union of autonomous country-regions
Mostly agree, however the current '6 zones may need adjusting to maybe 8 or 10. Edo and Delta are the Midwest region, the only region created by democratic vote in Nigeria's history. The Midwest can't be part of any 'south-south' region in a devolved nation
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by bjdon: 10:51am On Sep 05, 2023
Cantonese:
Truth.

It was an open secret that all the refineries were sources of uncontrollable looting. It was an open secret that TAM was an avenue to reap the nation off. It was an open secret that the systematic destruction of the refineries involved persons in position of power and staff.

Nigeria needs a strong and determined leader for things to work. We need a leader with a very strong will to move the nation forward. Unfortunately corruption has gotten the better part of the leadership and the people support corrupt leaders to continue with their corrupt ways.
While I agree with most of what you say, I do not agree that the solution is just having a strong leader. The people need to change their mindset. The average Nigerian is motivated by money not national interest. This is the reason there is so much corruption in the land. All these corrupt people are never challenged. They get the front seats in church, the high table in social events. They are celebrated in the media. Why would corruption not thrive in such an environment? You will see somebody who had only 1 car before getting a govt appointment, suddenly has 5 cars and people will be celebrating such a person.
Until we change our mindset, nothing will change in the country
PoliticsRe: Presidential Election Tribunal Judgement: What Is Your Prediction? by bjdon: 12:42pm On Sep 04, 2023
if you guys really want to get rid of Tinubu, then in 2027 you need to rally behind the ONLY man who has floored him in the past. The man with red eyes, and no fear. The man who is currently showing his deputy hell fire.
That man is GODWIN OBESEKI. He's the only person who has the guts to take on Jagaban. Wike na learner where Obaseki dey.

It's high time we change the law in this country. If you attend a federal University, with free tuition, you should not be allowed to go and work abroad for at least 7 years post graduation. This should apply to medical, IT and engineering graduates. We can't be training professionals fir the rest of the world

PoliticsRe: Even If There's Coup In Nigeria Northerners Will Be In Charge - Ffk by bjdon: 3:56pm On Aug 30, 2023
Any southerner calling for a coup callnig for a coup, needs their head examined!

I am from the south south, no fan of Tinubu at all, but a Tinubu administration is 1 million times better than a military govt headed by a Northerner.

Southeners (Especially Igbos) need to understand the next phase of the northern agenda. The north is overpopulatd, rivers like lake Chad have more or less dried up. They are looking for new fertile lands and water ways, that's why Buhari was pushing RUGA and there was also the water ways bill in the national assembly, that bill would have allowed the FG to take over ALL rivers in the country.

If there's a coup in Nigeira, it's almost certain the head of state will be a Northner, and that person will drive the northern agenda, from where Buhari stopped.

Tinubu is far from perfect but if it's between him or a norhtern army office, please give me Tinuub any day.
PoliticsRe: 'Yorubanisation, Lagoslisation' In Tinubu's Appointments, Arewa Forum Raises Ala by bjdon: 3:50pm On Aug 30, 2023
What Tinubu is doing is wrong, however NO NORTHERN GROUP SHOULD SAY A WORD, IF THEY DID NOT ALSO ATTACK BUHARI WHEN HE DID THE SAME.

The northerners are the biggest hypocrites on this plannet. For 8 years Buhari ran the counrtry like it was only them Fulani's that could run any govt agency, no Tinubu is doing similar the are moaning.

Both are wrong BTW, but I just hate the double standards of the North
PoliticsRe: Obaseki Charges Edo People, Commuters To Plead With Tinubu To Allow Him Fix Fede by bjdon: 5:43pm On Aug 29, 2023
Our 3 senators and all the Edo Reps should prevail on the Federal Minister of works. We should also ask the place to intervene on this. If after all that the FG still does not fix the road, Obaseki should go ahead and do it, and send the bill to the FG.
PoliticsRe: Edo 2024 Face-Off: Obaseki Disbands Deputy Gov, Shaibu's Media Team by bjdon: 12:31pm On Aug 29, 2023
xjiggy:
Your statement shows you're an outsider. Shaibu is well known in the political sphere of Edo state. In short, Oshiomhole was his Godfather in politics. Obaseki was the relatively unknown in the equation. Oshiomhole brought both to power only for Shaibu (the Godson) to turn Judas and betray Oshiomhole because of Obaseki (the Ungrateful one). Let them fight. They are both Judas. Below is a pic of Shaibu (Nans President) presenting an award to Oshiomhole (then a Labour leader of textiles in Kaduna)
So you wanted Oshimole to be playing the same kind of godfather that Annenih was playing? Why would Obaseki accept that?Oshiomhole fought godfathers, then wanted to become one himself?
No more godfathers in Edo. If Obaseki tries it we'll also opposite him.
PoliticsRe: Edo 2024 Face-Off: Obaseki Disbands Deputy Gov, Shaibu's Media Team by bjdon: 12:27pm On Aug 29, 2023
100% support Obaseki. In our political history, since the 2nd republic, no Deputy governor has ever successfully fought their boss. Shiabu will be eating corn and reading newspapers for the next 14 months.

Just as Auchi people have Islamic names. Edo people have varied names reflecting our wide origins from the vast Empire. We know who is a true Edo, based on family history.
