What is important is that a n effective road map for power generation and distribution is developed and implemented

The way many Nigerians try to define ethnicity is quite amusing. For example they will say ' This name is an Igbo name, therefore the person is Igbo' What a joke. By that logic anyone called 'George' anywhere in the world is British as that is a British name!

Ethnic groups logically originate from other groups. In Europe you have the Wallons in Belgium who are descendent from the French. They have French sounding names like 'Jean-Marie' but they are NOT French. Same with the Flemish in Belgium who are descendent from the Dutch and have Dutch sounding names, but are NOT Dutch. The Afrikaans in South Africa are also descendent from the Dutch.

So tall the Ethnic Champions out there, just because the people in a particular ethnic group may answer names from your group, does not mean they belong to your group, it only means they originated from it, and then broke away.

How has having all those ministers impacted the state? Bayelsa is one of the most underdeveloped states in the nation.

However, this new development even if it is being considered is a red flag that President Tinubu is not as prepared for governance as he campaigned. Unfortunately, not appearing for media interactions or debate didn't help. That President Tinubu knew he would implement the removal of subsidy and floating of Naira soon after inauguration but had no plans to manage the consequences of the these major policy shift paints a scary picture about his future policies.

My suggestion is that Tinubu could go on and appoint Wale Edun the Finance minister as well as appoint his President Economic Team. However, he should he headhunt for some young hothead economists and financial experts and place them under his office to serve as his thinktank in brainstorming on policies, creating scenarios, doing risk-benefit analyses, SWOT Analysis, etc to give the big picture advantage. We need practical ideas from thinking out of box here rather than some textbooks stuff.

How on earth is value of Naira is falling and the CBN is speaking grammar. How about rolling about plans to encourage the local production and export to cure our trade deficits.

Is it not a disgrace that almost 3 months after being sworn in, we still do not have ministers in place. For goodness sake the election was in Feb, and here we are with no Finance minister, No Energy Minister...

The issue is no really about having even more economists. Nigeria's problem are so easy even a 100 level student could solve them.
Set up a presidential task force on the rehabilitation and management of the 4 refineries, with a time scale for them all to be fully operational in 12 months. Quarterly progress reports to be made public. Task force reports directly to the president

Totally deregulate the power sector. Govts only role in power should be regulatory. Allow private sector players build and manage power, transmission and distribution segments.

Declare a law that Forex can only be purchased and sold at licensed approved venues (Banks,BDC). Anyone caught illegally buying or selling forex faces a 21 year sentence for economic sabotage. No sane country tolerates a 'Black Market' for Forex.

These are just for starters. Any govt that is not doing this or a version of this is just another scam, that Nigerians should not take seriously.

I can't believe we having this kind of conversation, the nation is facing total economic collaspe and some people are calling for more ministers on ethinic grounds. We should be REDUCING the number of ministers and insisting on MERIT not ethnicity . Why we are so backward in our thinking?

I am now starting to think Nigeria will be joining the club with Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso very soon. This can't go on much longer.....

I doubt you understand Edo politics at all. Shiabu and Oshimole are from the same part of Edo North. It is not practical that one part of Edo North can produce 2 governors when the whole of Edo Central has not produced a governor. Obaseki knows this.

Note that Fashola was put in charge of power with little to show. El Rufai was the one who restored the Abuja master plan demolishing the houses of powerful men.

Sorry but nobody, can fix the Nigerian power situation, as long as we continue to address it as a govt issue to resolve. I would advice you dig out a speech Sanusi made on this very issue.
The only way to fix the power issue, is for govt to hands off, and totally open it up to the private sector. No private sector entity will build a power station without ensuring there will be constant gas supply, or build a power station, without ensuring there is adequate transmission ability.
Govts involvement in power should be notihing more than regulatory.

How exactly is a govt supposed to strengthen the currency in the way you propose? Do you even understand how the FX market works? The Niara is weak because we IMPOTRT practically everything. Not only goods but now also services like Education (Parents paying school fees for wards abroad) and Health services (Paying for treatment in US, Europe, India). The former parallel market was nothing but a big scam, where connected individuals were getting FX at an artificially low rate (Subsidized by you and me) and then selling it on at the Black Market. What you see know is the TRUE value of Niara set by demand and supply.
There are winner and losers here, importers will suffer but exporters will enjoy, and that is what we need. Also foriegn investors will be encouraged to invest as their Fx will go further. I know a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora who are now looking at coming to invest in real estate and the stock market, as they money will now go further.
Nigerians must understand that a bit of pain is essential to reform this country. I say that as somebody who detests Tinubu, but the truth is if it's Tinubu, PO, or Atiku, Nigerians would still need to undergo some pain to get the country on the right track.

This is what happens when a certificate forger, just sniffs some drugs and starts making all kinds of statements without thinking. One point that need to be raised is why is it taking so long to get ministers in place. it's now about 2.5 months since Tinubu was sworn in and still the ministers are not on seat. If we had a foreign ministers in place, they would have been able to properly advice blablu on all the pros and cons of taking a hard stance against Niger. Right now it's just a one man govt, and that's why so many mistakes are being made
