PoliticsRe: Hardship: 'Borrow Atiku's Plan' - Deji Adeyanju Begs Tinubu by bjdon: 9:11am On Jul 21, 2023
I hope you people can now see why it's so important that presidential candidates TURN UP FOR DEBATES. A candidate that can't come out and debate their plans for governance, is a candidate with no plan. Simple

In future if you vote any candidate that did not bother to come and debate, na your toro be that.
CareerRe: Injustice At Workplace; Should I Resign Or Hang On? by bjdon: 9:08am On Jul 21, 2023
Guy,
The first and most important advice I can give you is Be Honest with yourself. Only you know yourself. Only you know what you can handle and can't handle. Even your wife, can never you as well as you know yourself.
Are you the kind of person that can remain in a hostile situation while planning an escape? Some can, some can't
Are you a sensitive person who's mental health can be affected by a hostile situation? Some are, some are not.

You need to asses who you are and act to your strengths and protect your weakness. Everybody telling you 'Do this, Do that' are talking from their perspectives, not yours.

You voted for a drug baron who has held Lagos in chains for 24 years, and now tou are crying!! Keep crying!! Nigerias will get sense by force
PoliticsRe: This Is What Edo No Be Lagos Means by bjdon: 7:33am On Jul 21, 2023
Weather Edo is developed or not, rich or poor, is not the point. The simple point of 'Edo no be Lagos' is that in Edo state we will NEVER accept a situation where one drug baron dictates who should be our governor. Let Obaseki be a failure, its OK. Next year we vote in a new governor no wahala. That's democracy. We will never be as rich as Lagos, but at least we are free and have our self respect.

After Oshimole and Obaseki, one mandatory requirement for the next Edo Governor is that he or she must be good looking. I beg we need to give a good image to the rest of the nation, and let them think we all resemble gorilla for Edo state smiley

FuckSilly:
Ignoramus.
So why has Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE developed with the same crude oil.
Kuwait dinar is the strongest in the world, but naira is trading at 800 naira to a dollar.
You also think everything about crude oil is petrol, kerosene and diesel, which is why you mentioned electric vehicle. I won't engage in an argument with an ignoramus. You know little or nothing about crude oil.
Saudi and other oil producing countries are doing fine, becasue they also refine their crude oil(As we used to do) We sell the raw crude oil and then import the refined products at a much more exspensive cost. it's like you eport a barrel of Crude for $70 and then import a barrel of refiend PMS for $120, you can see how that is monkey economics. We are actually LOOSING money in the oil trade. This is the main reason why the Naira is under preassure.
Please also note the only reason the country did not totally crash under Buhari is the man just kept borrowing to keep financing the deficit. Nigeira is effectivly broke, as it makes less than it spends
BusinessRe: Exchange Rate Post Biggest Ever Gain, Closing At ₦‎742/$1 On I&E Window by bjdon: 8:50am On Jul 20, 2023
It's economics 101 'Demand and Supply' Nigeria has high demand for FX becasue we import almost everything we consume, in addition to also needing FX for foriegn school fees and healthcare and refiend fuel products.
Meanwhile our supply of FX continues to dwindle due the fact that our oil exports remain constrained by criminal diversions and also infrastrucre issues. Nigeria does not produce anything close to our OPEC quota of oil.
Due to all this the Niara will continue to drift down, and inflation will continue to rise.
A SERIOUS govt would do the follwoing:
Declare a state of emergecny in the oil and gas sector. Intiate immediate trun around of the 4 refinairies, while arresting and trialing all those who have been responsable for the previous turnaround projects. Give a 12 month deadline for the 4 refinaires to be 100% operational. If Ukraine can keep it's refinairies working even after bombing from Russia, what excuse do we have
Secondily, establish a taskforce, headed by a young untainted officer, to monitor our crude production from the oil wells to the loading bays. Implement all relevant modern technology and best practices to be control and reduce oil pillfering and theft. Again this can all be up and running within 12 months.
These are the things a serious govt, that has the interests of the people at heart would do. Sadily we do not have such a govt, so the sufferinfg will continue.

But can anyone tell me what exactly is Tinubu's big plan to get Nigerians out of this mess?
The last one we heard was 8k which seems to have now been cancelled and Labour is saying discussions on minimum wage is being stalled by govt.
What's the endgame here?
Cause it just seems as if the man is hibernating in Aso Villa while his countrymen are writhing in dire straits.
Is this another LouisXIV we're seeing in 21st century?

Words on stone!!

The African has darkness and wickedness deep in his soul. This is why we can't develop. How can governors sleep sound at night knowing that there are kids sitting on the floor in classes with no roof? Hospitals with no equipment? Yet nobody is bothered, nobody is enraged.

The only hope for Africa is total recolonisation for at least 100 years

Ogun, Olokun , Sango, all very old religoins, its totally right and proper that they are celebrated, howeer it should not be at the FG level. Indivdual states where these trado religons are practiced can and should declare holidays as they see fit. As an Edo man, that means we go get holiday tire! smiley

If he wants equity, it should be across the board. Let all states keep the VAT they generate.

PoliticsRe: Oba Of Benin Visits President Tinubu (Photos And Videos) by bjdon: 6:09pm On Jul 14, 2023
No true Edo person will tell you the Oba does not travel. Some younger excitable Edo's may have said that but its not true. During the height if the Bini kingdom, the Oba travel regularly across his realm.
What the Oba does NOT do is travel anyhow. For example when the Sultan lead traditional rulers to congratulate Tinubu, the Oba did not attend, that would be taboo. He has now gone in his own right with senior Edo chiefs and rulers. Thus is HIS visit, not part of some delegation.

My own is that let every religion carry out their practice,as long as it's not against the constitution of Nigeria.

African Traditional Religion (ATR), should be given the recognition it deserves.

Christians and Moslem in Nigeria should know that traditional worshippers have rights too.

Let ATR breath.
I totally agree. Not just ATR, but also states can declare holidays to celebrate important historical events. This is the way our traditions and history will live on for generation to come

Just a bullet into the skull of Simon Ekperima and 75% of the problem is solved.

I keep reiterating that CIA of USA, Mossad of Israel and KGB of Russia won't relax when someone is outside their country but is a threat to their nation.

That Ekperima can be eliminated without any trace. Burn his body into ashes and dump it into the ocean. Let it appear like he's missing or went underground.
I am sorry but commonsense would state that this would not work.

Think about it

The man is in Finland, he gives sit at home orders, and loads of armed men across the SE enforce those orders. That means there is a command and control structure in place between Ekpa and the guys on the ground. if you eliminate Ekpa, somebody else will simply take the position and continue to give the orders.

The only way to solve this is with an unrelaning, vicous crackdown on the gunmen on ground.

In my opinion, it is those diasporans who grew up in those areas that stay there when they visit Nigeria. If one was not based in those areas before leaving Nigeria when visiting, why stay in those places?

The prices quoted reflect the cost of living. Lagos is Nigeria's most expensive state.
This is my point, people need to be bold. A Nigerian living aborad will travel to countries he's never been to before for work or holiday, why can't you do the same within Nigeria? Just fly into a city like Uyo get an uber to a top hotel. Do your research before hand on the best night spots....we need to stop being afraid of places we've not grown up in. I know make it a point to visit diffrent states anytime I go to Nigeria. Trust me, there is sooooo much fun at very resonable prices to be had around the country

However I totally respect him as a political operative. The man is always thinking many steps ahead.

He knows APC is weak in the SS, so he's looking to solidify his position there. With Wike and Ibori on side, he will be in a very strong position in that region.

Others could learn a lot from him in strategic planning

Tribal bigotry taken to a new level by the Yorubas.

See dem, association of tribal bigots are already applauding the divisive move by the Lagos State Government, You all can now see who is more Tribalistic between the Igbos and Yorubas, No state in the entire South East does this nonsense...

South West is now officially a land of Tribal Bigots.

Kwara State wouldn't have been captured by the fulanis if you truly love your culture.

I am Yoruba before your malfunctional brains tell you I must be an igbo for saying the truth.

Now we know who the real tribal bigots are...The Yorubas.

When investors (igbos) start moving their businesses to the South East some your Yoruba brothers and sisters will loose their jobs and turn beggers, your state revenue will nose dive...common sense.
I don't understand your anger. This is very normal in Europe. In Wales all govt notices are in Welsh and English. In Quebec in Canada its French and English. As long as all govt notices and publications are provided in English there is no problem if they are also provided in other languages.
Every state can do the same

PoliticsRe: 2 Lagos Ports Control 65% Of Nation’s Import Cargo — NPA by bjdon: 5:46pm On Jul 11, 2023
FreeStuffsNG:
Go and read up on the constraints and why despite several billions Federal Government pumped like wasted funds into those 'political' ports outside Lagos, they are still not optimal in value for money the FG invested to build them just to pander to tribal and geopolitical sentiments.

If you read the report very well, what NPA is admitting is the fact that the money FG should have used to upgrade the infrastructures in the two Lagos-based busiest functional ports in Nigeria and west African sub region that it diverted into the white elephant projects called seaports in the other parts of the country. Since 1977, those two ports have not witnessed massive infrastructure upgrades yet FG kept building new ones that are literally economically useless like the p in psychology.

It was the reality of the kind of envy of the Yoruba by folks like you and the spoiler the FG
played against Lagos that made us proceed with private-sector led port alternatives like the Lekki and Badagry Deep seaports so our progress will not be undermined forever in a multiethnic nation like ours.

Now our Lekki Deep seaport is up and we do not need envious compatriots blackmailing us that we held them down. Think out of the box. We have understood your game of acting as spoilers as if the Yoruba are sitting down on your progress when in actual fact the Yoruba are not.

That those two ports are suffering from poor infrastructure is because of envy and bitterness against the Yoruba for hosting those ports, it is not because FG could not have kept them in shape despite the fact that those ports were national assets serving the nation, employing all Nigerians and handling most of the cargoes in Nigeria. We will always triumph in this kind of reality that you are envious of us but please don't drag us into your inability to make a headway, we are not responsible for your woes and having suboptimal political ports. You reap what you sow.
Check my signature for free stuffs!
You are totally ignornat!!
Tin Can Port did not come into operation till the 70's, was Nigeria not doing import/export business before then? Warri, Sapple, PH were all major ports towns for decades. All those ports were allowed to die, so Lagos could have the monopoly. As long as Yoruba's try to make Lagos the only state with functional ports, people from all over the nation will live there, and the complextion of the state will keep changing. The last election is just a forestatste of what is to come

If you're Yoruba and you're reading this, please take note that Igbos are not your problem. Igbos do not hate you. Igbos will never try to replace your religion with theirs. Rather, Igbos will come to your community and help you develop it. They bring infrastructural development to your once local community. They bring business. They import the basic things you need. They'll marry your daughters and perform d marriage rites to the fullest. Because they love their host community, they may give one of their children one of your names. Igbos may be loud but they don't take what's not theirs. Igbos are not a threat to you Yorubas. Look inwards and you'll identify those who want to take over your lands and foist their religion on you.
Tribalisim will never let them see clearly. They have betrayed the rest of the south and know na 'siddon look' we dey as the Fulani start to deal with them. Their was a time many of us in the SS looked up the SW, the SW of people like Gani and Beko. We respected them and joined with them in the June12 struggle. Never again. The so called south has always been divided since the time of Awo and Zik and shall remain so. The sooner each group in the 'south' understands this, the better. The Yoruba are at most risk from the southward spread of Islam as they have already lost some of their territory to the caliphate.
