That's one thing I have against most Nigerian youths, they seem to have lost the capacity to critically look at a case and analyse it logically not spewing emotions everywhere like a wailing banshee.
Based on the evidence shown, did they actually sleep with those students or give them marks for sex? They propositioned the students inappropriately, so its gross misconduct from them, not the other issues BBC raised as headlines. What would have been a better case is if the undercover reporters are actually registered students and they slept or made the lecturers admit that they will give them marks for sexual favours...the clincher would have been if a video evidence of such admissions were to be aired by BBC....
What y'all reacting to are gross misconduct or inappropriate behaviour from the lecturers and by this huge blunder from BBC,the real student slayers would go aground, restrategize and come back stronger to torment the victims.
A snake and a lion are different animals but you kill them the exact same way...NEVER LEAVE EITHER BREATHING. SO LONG THEY STILL BREATHE, YOU ARE NEVER SAFE.
must reporter sleep with lecturers before proving sexual harassment. try to understand meaning of sexual harassment. the essence of this report is to put a system in place for students to lodge their complaints without being victimized.
Up till today, I have never known my genotype till I went to do medical fitness test for my job/employment process.
I've being dating by girlfriend for about two years and seven months now, and I've always seen her as a perfect match to me, not because she's perfect, but because she's very loyal, reserved and calm, respectful, teachable, willing to learn, beautiful and very supportive to say a few.
Kai, the thought of losing her is killing and unexplainable. She had been a BLESSING to me all these while. We've really worked on ourselves and helped each other to overcome our weaknesses.
With the challenges of my new and better job, will I really have that time to woo women and start the process of working on a woman to blend and suit me?
And this is a girl I'm planning to settle down with by the middle of next year, after I must have gotten used to my new job.
I have always believed that my genotype would be AA, but I was wrong!
Somebody told me that there's nothing God can not do, that he has seen people giving testimonies about change of genotypes. I didn't doubt him, it's just that i'm not the "churchious" type who easily believe all those stories.
Now, my questions are:
1.) Is it possible to have just two children without an SS child?
2.) How do I relate this sad news to her (after she has turned down several serious marriage proposals because of me)?
3.) Please, what do I do?
Please, help me and send this to front page for greater views and advice.
Matured and very serious advice needed.
Thanks.
Two options 1. Both of you will do permanent sterilization -vasectomy and bilateral tubal ligation 2. Move on
oz4real83: I will only believe this only when Ajaokuta and Aladja steel companies are working efficiently. A country without a functioning steel industry will only tell lies as they are doing now with this report.
gbollykore: In the Uk if you have an Hnd you can go for a top up degree program for 9 months to convert it to Bachelors degree. Most universities will admit you without any troubles particularly if the Hnd is from the Uk Universities also offer Hnd programs in the Uk In the Usa you have to have your transcripts evaluated to Usa standards. Most universities will classify an Hnd as an associate degree which means you may have to do a year or two more to earn a bachelors However some colleges may consider individual situations work experience and all that. They may allow someone to pursue masters program directly
Oloyedecherry: Really, someone should please enlighten me on this, how possible can that be?
in the past, you need bsc with or without master to attain professorship status. soyinka became prof and won Nobel prize without PhD. truly, two certificates are important and both can lead to many opportunities: secondary school and first degree certificates. Other certificates are just addendum. many PhD programs are coming up because education has been commercialized. technically, you do not need PhD to become prof what you need are teaching and research skills. however, it is compulsory to have PhD to become prof in Nigeria but not worldwide.
ASUU silence -not surprised Minister of Education -am surprised because he is also journalist. Ministry of Education should issue policies on Dressing code, Students' complaints and Examination results which should be enforced on all universities
if you do not have verifiable source of income, do not use i-phone. if you get an I phone, please wear a body cameras. There is no human right in Nigeria.
Yemmy94: How can the prority of a department in the university is to reduce student.
What is there gain? Does this make them the best department?
Why will they allow lot of student to be admitted into the department and next thing they want to do is reduce them again.
This department is a big mess and something need to be done about this.
Even the 400 level student are already having an extra year while the ones that had an extra year before is having another one again This is painful and tragic
Please better advice the 100level student to change department because most of them can't survive it.
Lot of them are starting with 2 point and there are low chances dey will survive.
CSC IS A BIG MESS
that is consequence of examination malpractices in waec, neco and jamb. many students who struggled with mathematics and physics in SSS are in computer science and engineering departments. how would they cope? More than 30% of students in universities are in wrong departments. some are not even supposed to be in universities. They should be learning trade or in polytechics for diploma not even HND.
paiz: I heard the acronym STD now stands for Sexually Transmitted Degrees. Odiegwu
There is also bribery transmited degree(BTD). female female should get spy cameras. They are cheap in aliexpress. They shoud also speak out because I believe someone will help. if you speak, harassment and victimization will stop. be smart and face your study diligently. if you are not comfortable with your grades speak to someone-parents,guardians, real men of God.
adebuk47: #SexForGrades: #UNIBEN lecturer, Prof. Okwechime Emmanuel defends lecturers, says they are being harassed by the way some female students dress. According to him, some female students want STD (Sexually Transmitted Degree)
Kalixx: Comprehension is obviously far from you if you can't either draw parallels or spot the plain oxymoron.
Europeans run a documentary in Nigeria about so-called societal ills? However they also brought education and religion. ' They used religion to brainwash you by validating slavery and other forms of serfdom (Exodus 21: 2 - 11). The pretext, well laid, to ship your fore fore fathers and mothers and subject them to intense and atrociously cheap labour, only reserved for machines today.
Then they brought education and omitted such lessons and values in our history books. The little history we could find, simply white lies, portraying that it was we blacks that sold ourselves for money, thereby allocating a portion of the blame on us.
I would expect a documentary to create awareness and understanding, more so education. But in our text books, such details are lacking. I only see Ali and Simbi, and Edet, but Im yet to see lessons and 'documentary' of the slave masters.
But then, they are comfortable sneaking in Mary Slessor, a scottish, abolishing the killing of twins -- a rare bright light in an otherwise dark history
These guys only always appear to occupy the moral high ground and if by now you guys can't see that, as well as them being masters of pretext, duplicitousness, beneficiaries of corruption and masters of divide-and-conquer, then you are an irredeemable f0ol and should have been on one of those slave ships, clothed in a scant towel or pant (like Mahatma Gandhi), to live a complete life of serfdom.
Your genealogy is a waste!
Before abusing others, ask journalists in Nigeria to expose ills in society, nobody will worry about foreign media. Britain colonised us and their missionaries used the opportunity to introduce Christianity and stop human sacrifices. Yes,there are bad people everywhere but institutions must have system of protecting the victims and punishing th e offenders. In Nigeria,it is always difficult to get justice In Nigeria unless you are well-connected. Corruption in police, academics and judiciary are making it worse for victims.
9jaRealist: Please desist from creating/perpetuating a FALSE EQUIVALENCY...
The power dynamic between lecturer and student are disparate and unequal, and always skewed in favor of the lecturer... If a student (female or male) comes to a lecturer to exchange sex for good grades, it’s the latter's FIDUCIARY duty to refuse/report.
Any lecturer, employer or person in a position to directly influence the grade/career of another person (and that goes for both male or female) has NO business whatsoever sleeping with such person, however much you may believe that the subordinate “willingly” want to. If you have NO moral compass (or self-control/self-discipline), you are NOT fit to hold a fiduciary/supervisory position. >
You are very intelligent. If lecturers are wise, they should start reporting students who are trying to seduce them
naijaguy123456: Wicked British are damaging your educational institution and lazy mumu youth are happy and praising it . When was the last time BBC run a documentary about research breakthrough or academic breakthrough from unilag ? When it’s bad news about African the slavemaster are always quick to report it but when a Nigerian child made 9 As in GCSE/WAEC they should run a documentary about that too .
If our journalists are doing real investigative journalism, Britons would mind their business.
koolbe: 9% Isn't realistic. Many states pay graduates 30k presently. So when they increase d salary of a cleaner from 18k to 30k and now increase that of a graduate by 9%, he earns 32,500. So d lowest person earns 30k while a graduate earns 32k.
LillyVal: Dear average Nigerian married men, hope you learned something from Mike O Edwards of BBN 4?
Infidelity is a choice. You are responsible for what you do with your penis. You cheat or misbehave because you want to or you are a dog, not because you can't control yourself.
Mike lived 99 days with different beautiful ladies of different sizes, complexion, height and shapes. He saw them in skimpy outfits, shared bathrooms and bedrooms with them, but not for once did we see his boner.
Not for once did he behave inappropriately around any of them.
He respected himself, his wife, his wedding vows and his brand, even though he knows our society would have made excuses for him or forgiven him easily if he had messed around with any of the girls in that house.
Remember this when next you want to make silly excuses for philandering husbands or put the blame on wives of cheating men.
Remember this when next you justify sleeping with the house help, sister inlaw, colleague, neighbour, wife's best friend or your side chick.
Like or hate Mike, he really set a good standard for married men in that house. He made a point.
Man like Mike!
If our society appreciates virtue,Mike should have won the game not that public towel
iamkheedah: We are yet to find out if the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) result of PDP’s governorship candidate Senator Douye Diri that is currently circulating on social media is also part of his campaign strategy or the handiwork of other strong opposition parties to cause a stir online.
Anyways, whichever is the case, the certificate making rounds caught our attention and we decided to share it with you!
The senator had a pass in English language, Mathematics and Literature, Good in Religious Knowledge, Excellent in Government, Very Good in Economics.
ejitest1: Well, for me I don't think it's even sensible for a guy to think about marriage in that state
I know some laboratory attendants earning 30k,married with kids. two of them have cars for commercial purposes and recently moved to their houses. though, they are not rich but they are not nuisance in society.

zoba88: THUGGERY AROUND GUSAU TUDUN WADA VICINITY THAT CAUSED THE LIFE OF POOR IBRAHIM AMINU ZURMI
Ibrahim Aminu Zurmi on Friday afternoon went to Awala area of Tudun Wada to visit his mother. On his way back heading to mosque for Jummaat prayer,he was attacked by thugs at Filin Jirgi area who snatched his phone and stabbed him multiple times in his stomach and lap. Laying unconscious in a pool of blood, a commercial bike man raised an alarm and eventually met someone who knew him (neighbor).
His intestines were fusing out of the brutally stabbed stomach. They rushed him to FMC Gusau's Accident and Emergency unit where the hospital attendant refused attending to him until a police report is brought. His neighbor who rescued him fell at the feet of a hospital staff and pleaded for mercy and that was when the wounds were wrapped with bandage which could merely stop the bleeding. He was kept on the bare floor without any medical care.
After approximately two hours, Ibrahim was still laying in a pool of blood at Federal Medical Center until the police report was brought and that was when they gave blood sample and requested for payment before he will be taken to theatre for operation. Before the payment and blood was brought, Ibrahim passed away after approximately five hours of bleeding on the floor.
Thuggery and hospital's incompetence have caused the life of this young man. This is the current situation in Tudun Wada vicinity ( Hayin malam sani area, hira da qwaddi area, nassarawa area, awala area, matazu area, unguwar kara area, filin jirgi area, premier road and it environs).
odinceblog: A Nigerian Based American Lady, Melissa, shares a Touching story of a Nigerian boy who she picked on the street 18 years Ago (abandoned with a disease) she took care of him, treated, trained him in school, now he is a medical Doctor.
Read Her testimony Below;
Guys! I am so excited!!!!! This last week my “adopted” brother became Dr Paul.
Our family first met Anejodo Paul in a small remote village in central Nigeria about 18 1/2 years ago.
I remember my heart breaking when I saw this kid under a tree swatting flies away from the raw and open tissue on his leg that had been caused by a flesh eating bacteria.
Many months later, through the kindness of a donor in the U.S., he was brought to the SDA Hospital in Ile-Ife for treatment of his buruli ulcer related disease and complications.
Over a year later, he came home to live with our family so that, at 13 years of age, he could start school. Did I mention he was 13 and starting first grade?
And this week, he got the news that he has passed his final medical school exams.
Thanks to MANY miracles from God, the medical care provided by doctors at the SDA Hospital in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, the support of many who contributed to cover his school fees, and other needs through the years, his own persistence in spite of MANY obstacles, he is now Dr. Paul!!!
We are all so proud of you, Paul! And I can’t wait to see where God continues to take you on this crazy journey he has had you on.
