2012 was not a good year. Years prior to that too i think 2002-2003..

It was my hausa neighbors that shielded us back then. we went to live in their house. I was a kid. Those were traumatizing moments for me.
I started having bad dreams of hausa thuhs invading our home.. Trauma from all this events are very real. As For my parents, they've become so goddamn paranoid. After that incident, omo, When i got admission, in 2013 at kaduna state university, i wasn't allowed to rent a room. I was traveling from gonin gora everyday to school.

I never stay up to 1 hour in town.. I remember during the boko haram escalation when one church, shalom, was bombed at gonin gora.. I was at school that time.. never been so scared in my life.
No transport home, no place to stay too. Everybody was running.. imagine me trekking from kasu to stadium round about through ahmedu bello way.. Fear!!!!!!!

yea it is terrible I must say. After that crisis, going to town became an issue. We were quite young then and the only thing that takes us to Central market then would be either to go swap phones or buy new clothes....

I left the north eventually in January 2015, never ever to return.

Terrible....I experienced riot in 2012 in Kaduna and I can attest that violence is not the way out.
Pregnant women were killed and their stomachs opened and the foetus taken out.
People were beaten to stupor and burnt alive. Some were beheaded.

After that Sunday riot, Sabo market was practically littered with dead bodies. I think over 300 persons were killed in that riot.
