D cassava flour type of amala is called lafun, cos accordg to d story some were made to make fufu so its d cassava type.anythg cassava if not properly processd can b dangerous, dey av eaten much of d cassava
Amala is Amala and Lafun is Lafun. They are 2 different meals both in terms of what they are made from and in how they look. They have nothing in common except they are both swallow, just like pounded yam or eba. This is an article by someone who will call himself a journalist and therefore educated! Let us talk like educated people!!! To your second point, Yes we know cassava is harmful if not processed properly.

Amala is not made from cassava flour, it is made from yam flour.

Your case is different.
because you are daft!!!! I have already told you i dont like Burna boy as a person, his music or his lyrics but unlike you morons I can dislike someone but appreciate his positives. Burna boy was recognized for his positive contribution to Nigerian music in particular and on the global stage....deal with it and stop quoting me with posts that reflect an unexposed unenlightened person with a low IQ. Spend your airtime goggling the vast number of controversial artistes that have received national awards in the UK or the number of controversial rap artists for example that have been recognized by the white house!!!

You see why I said you do not understand what National award means.

You talk so much about popularity.
Portable is quite popular too.
Popularity is not a criterion for receiving a national honour.
We barely know most of the awardees.

Burna has put Nigeria on the world map.
So does Invictus Obi, Huspuppy etc.

Of course I watch foreigners vibing to the "I need igbo and shayo" song.
What are the morals of those lyrics?

I also watch them profiling Nigerians as fraudsters because of Huspuppy and his likes.

So tell me, is that the kind of world map recognition we should be happy about and issuing a national award?
you are daft! nobody knows portable in the USA or UK!

National award for recording

Do you know what national award means?
Not some street award.
You are naive, go to the us or the Uk and look at the number of musicians that have national awards. The guy has put Nigeria on the map, I am not a fan of Burna boy, I can’t stand him or his lyrics but this is an acknowledgment of his contribution to music and Nigeria. Very few Nigerians are known internationally….Burna boy is. You ask a typical British or American who the president of Nigeria is or to name a famous Nigerian, I can bet you the only kind of names. They can come up with are wiz kid, Burna boy, okocha, Kanu etc. these guys have done more for the image of Nigeria abroad that any politician academic or businessman. Burna boy is more recognized olinternationally than Dangote! So honour where honour is due, though I agree I do not understand the Burna boy hype, I do not like his music or lyrics.

Biden is a very humble man and probably chose not to seat at the front.
There is nothing humble about Americans. The guy effing brought his own car, plane entourage etc when other countries were told not to.

The reason he sat in the 14th row is that, there is established protocol for state functions and commonwealth countries takes precedence over other countries. Considering the number of countries the UK has colonized in the past, it’s no surprises he is in the 14 th row.

Apologies for the long write up……..

I have been dating this girl for like 2 months now and the relationship has been affecting my mental health that I can’t think properly.

I do love this girl but recently I have been having this feeling that she is seeing someone else and caught her to a point Yesterday. She couldn’t deny……

Firstly, yesterday was my birthday, she was supposed to come see me in the morning and spend the day with me, this girl didn’t show up after calling her like 17 times… had the feeling she was with a guy so I decided to go to her house.

On getting to her house, I saw her she was very weak. I asked her what she has been up to. She said she went to the farm. Then I asked who was aware that she went to the farm, she couldn’t say and was speechless. She later contradicted her statement that she didn’t go to the farm that she just strolled out and went to her cousins place thereafter all which are lies…..

I’m thinking of leaving the relationship for my peace of mind and sanity but she is begging we still stay..

I’m just confused right now
never chase after women, fix your life and women will chase after you. Never take back a woman caught cheating!! Set standards in dating for yourself and stick to it no matter the pain...you will thank me in the long run.

The dating game works this way, when you are young you chase women because you have nothing to offer and they are young and have options...they are the prize!!! but as you get older and you sort yourself out career wise and financially, you are the prize and they need you more than you need them....you become the prize but only if you have sorted yourself out ...so forget women and sort yourself out!!!

Chasing after women as an adult is a sign your life is not on track. If your life is on track even if you haven’t yet made it, women will chase after you because women recognize potential!!! Many men will tell you a woman married them when they were poor or had nothing….it’s a myth!!! No woman worth her salt marries a poor man or a man going nowhere. Women marry men with nothing because they know he has the potential to become something!!! Women know men who will make it even before they do.

So Sort yourself out and you will have so many quality options you will be running from them. If you dont sort yourself out, even the faithful loving woman will ultimately leave you. Eventually all women realize they are not in the dating game for jokes, ultimately a woman wants a man who can provide and give her and her children the best possible life. Giving yourself heartache will only derail you from your life goals and ironically only serve to justify why the woman cheated or left you.

Nice submission and totally agree with you. Do you have any evidence to back up the claim that Buhari has added more to the national grid than any president in Nigeria's history?
best I have for now with a quick search

Saleh Mamman, minister of power, on Wednesday, told the house committee on power at the national assembly that the country’s grid power capacity has increased significantly since 2015.

“Today, the installed grid power generation capacity has reached 13,000MW from 8000MW in 2015; similarly, transmission capacity has increased to 8000MW from 5000 in 2015. The distribution system have the capacity to evacuate 5500MW of power, having grown from 4500MW in 2015. The private sector ran distribution system have the least capacity in the power value chain,” the minister said.

https://www.thecable.ng/nigeria-records-all-time-high-electricity-transmission-of-5459mw

my figures a little off but nonetheless as you can see thats 5000MW added to generation capacity in Buhari's tenure....the most of any president or head of state in history.

Note what he said about the discos sold to cronies by GEJ administration. Implying that the biggest problem even when the transmission capacity is increased are the DISCOS sold by PDP to people who dont have the capacity!!!

our current Generating capacity is well above 10,000MW i think 12000MW if I recall correctly, As at the time he entered if I recall correctly it was 5000-6000MW. I will look for offocial figures and get back to you. it may take a while as i am busy but I will get back to you.

BTW
I didnt say "added to the grid", I said added to generating capacity, the grid is the stumbling block because the capacity is around 4000mw hence the Siemens deal for which equipment has just started to arrive

Alexxx2000:
It's a long story but I will try to abridge it.

My mom raised I and my brother of 5yrs old single-handedly. There's a separation in the family so we're shuffling the deck. She's an hairstylist with meagre wages.

My dad was never part of the family. They both separated because of infidelity and harsh treatment. Since then, my dad, I guess erased our memories from his life.

I must confess, she's trying but the bills is weighing her down. My little brother was to start school last year but we couldn't pay for fees but after saving, we decided to put him in a cheap school close to the house.

Now, my mom want to stop us from bearing my father's name. She mandated me to change mine as well to her own dad's name.

Yesterday when I returned from the Pos attendant job I do, she brought the topic again and she said, nothing is holding her back on her decision.

Is she right for taking such decision? What will you advise me to do please?
Your Mom is wrong.

1) there are 2 sides to every story, no reasonable man abandons his children without good reason. If your mother married an unreasonable man then whose fault is that..the man or hers? Your mum isnt going to tell you she messed up if she did is she? Seperated/single mothers tend to brainwash and weaponise their children against their fathers.
2) it is bad enough that you grew up without a father but to remove his name is to deny who you are.
3) secondly it is emotional blackmail and selfish for your mother to use her children to fight her battles, you are suffering enough as it is without a father, she shouldnt add her drama to your life. your mother should be looking to sooth the fact that you have no father in your life (which is very important for any child) not to further damage you pyschologically.
4) I assume you are an adult, it is your decision to make not hers!!! She cannot deny who you are simply because of her mistakes in life. And yes it is her mistake because she made a choice to have children with a man who is no longer in the picture for whatever reason...whether it is her fault or his, it shows bad judgement on her part. It shows at the very least she chose to have have children with the wrong man...thats on her..thats her fault!!!!!! The fact that she is weaponsing you children says a lot about her if you ask me.

JuanDeDios:
I'm sure you really believe all you wrote. Well, I recently met a lady who feels just like you.
the problem with most Nigerians is they talk with emotion rather than facts. Like I said Nigerians are not really as smart as they like to think.

I live in the SW, Lagos ibadan road, after failed attempts under OBJ and GEJ, Buhari has reconstructed that road, similarly, lagos ibadan rail, apapa oworo express way, Ibadan to ilesha road under reconstruction, Murtala muhammed airport, ibadan to ilorin, we all know how bad marina outer ring road was and so on and so forth, etc etc and similarly in the SE 2nd Niger bridge etc and other regions of Nigeria, there are new roads and bridges that nobody thought to build or reconstruct since 1999. All over the country there are federal infrastructure projects going on!!! Despite grid failures, Buhari has added more to the power generation supply capacity of ANY president in Nigeria's history not just since 1999...go and verify. The reason we arent feeling it yet is because the transmission capacity cannot handle it but he has signed a deal with Siemens and equipment have started to arrive. He has signed electoral reforms which makes it harder to rig elections, he has signed laws that has made it possible for states to generate their own power, We are now self sufficient in rice production...fact!!! These are just a few lasting legacies, there are more but these are just examples that when you talk you back your talk with facts. The link below is a list of federal projects in the SE https://statehouse.gov.ng/news/a-compendium-of-president-buharis-ongoing-and-completed-infrastructure-projects-and-policy-successes-in-south-east-nigeria/

So, please list for us the lasting legacies of Obasanjo and Jonathan besides selling critical job creating national assets (like Airways, discos, steel plants, fertiliser companies etc etc to cronies and looting monies meant for infrastructure without building any infrastructure? Which road, rail or electricity project did they embark upon that impacts on your life and you are enjoying today? Buhari's biggest failure and it is a big failure is his failure to get the refineries working because that is where the hardship being experienced by Nigerians stems from. Subsidy and forex used to import fuel leading to inflation. However, in spite of that and Insecurity he is still a more succesful president than any since 1999. The things i listed above will benefit Nigerians for decades to come, tell me the things OBJ and GEJ left that you are enjoying less than 16 or 8 years after they left office!!! ofcourse there are still bad roads and an infrastructure deficit in Nigeria but if his predecessors had done even half or even one-third of what he has done in terms on infrastructure, our roads, rail, electricty etc wouldnt be so bad. If Obasanjo or GEJ had done Lagos-Ibadan rd, then Buhari could have directed his attention to Lagos-Abeokuta for instance and that road wouldnt be in the state it is today. Buhari has completed lagos to ibdan rail, so the next person will start from ibdan to somewhere else...thats how a nation builds infrastructure but in a situation where people do nothing for 16 years it's no shock we have an infrastructure deficit!!! According for fashola, Buhari is executing federal road contracts covering 13,000kms of roads. he wouldnt need to do so much if those before him did something!!!

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/08/buharis-govt-executing-800-contracts-13000km-of-roads-says-fashola/

Easy to come on nairaland make noise and abuse, lets deal in facts...list the enduring legacies of OBJ and GEJ as compared to Buhari. Criticise him all you want, no doubt there are areas in which he has done poorly but give the man his props....the facts on ground do not lie!!!! The legacy (by definition) is what you leave behind after you have gone, you cannot take good roads, rail etc with you when you leave but if you dont construct any, you have nothing to leave behind.
