Using this same yardstick, I guess Pdp's apologies in 2018 was an admission of their cataclysmic failure over their sixteen years of uninterrupted misrule.
Politics na politics. Dino was gbe bodying as a form of campaign the other day, but that is none of APC's business. Pdp should learn to mind their business. Considering APC's unrivaled failures in all facets of governance since 2015, it's only natural that Nigerians will prefer to go back to PDP days. |

Politics › PDP Says El-Rufai's Apology Is APC's Admission Of Bello’s Failure by DeOTR(op): 12:41am On Nov 15, 2019 |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has observed that the public apology and kneeling by the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Kogi state campaign council, Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai, confirms that even the APC agrees that Governor Yahaya Bello does not merit a second term. According to a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP National Publicity Secretary, the genuflection by El-Rufai is also a direct confirmation that the failed Governor Bello cannot lay claim to any genuine vote at the November 16 governorship election. The PDP noted that the Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shuaibu, also knelt before the Kogi people to beg for Yahaya Bello which further shows that it is public knowledge that the governor misused the opportunity given to him to lead the state. The statement added: “Unfortunately, the apology is coming too late in the day and cannot be accepted by the people of Kogi state, whose lives, Yahaya Bello had turned into a living hell in the last four year. “Moreover, Yahaya Bello openly confirmed that he is irredeemable as he stood without any sign of remorse while El-Rufai and the Edo State deputy governor begged the unimpressed scanty crowd. “Governor El-Rufai and the APC ought to have counselled Yahaya Bello at the time he was busy suppressing, insulting, abusing and making life unbearable for the people of Kogi state as if there will not be a day of reckoning. “The irreversible fact is that the day of reckoning has come. The people of Kogi state have moved beyond Yahaya Bello and the APC. They are already moving on with the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada, in their determination for a new order in their state and there is no looking back.” PDP advised El-Rufai to assist Bello in preparing his handover notes as “he will surely face a crushing defeat at the polls, come Saturday, November 16th.”

But as it stands, it's only God that'll make Bello to loose this election. what happened in Kano n Osun is gonna be a child's play. They not even interested in counting votes. They just gonna write results with d coporation of some notable sellouts like HRH Attah n deputy gov. I wish u guys all the best of lucks in trying to ouster Bello
#Nextlevel election meandering things No person has the monopoly of writing results you know? The Attah of Idah can sell out all he wants, if the people says enough of Bello, that's it. It's going to be almost impossible to rig Bello, Federal might or not, except of course, voting won't take place in some local governments. Let's not even forget that this man got there by mistake. That won't keep him there. |

And that is why the politicians will continue to swindle you while you shamelessly defend them. Jakai Kafwai! Constituency project funds is not a cash payments to Senators. Kanade21: ".
200million is from the experts, not me. Besides, at least we are around 100million at worst....and 4000mw is not enough.
South Africa generates 44000MW for 45million people, and even they have had rolling blackouts recently. Well, you can't blame us for the failure of successive government to plan. Our case is because of low price, but that of planning. How can we still be generating exactly the amount of power we generated in the 1980s? Well, contact your local DISCO. That's my 'weak' advice There wouldn't have been any need for that if I'm metered. |
Politics › Re: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by DeOTR: 1:50pm On Nov 09, 2019 |
Kanade21: No it won't. We are generating 4000mw for about 200million people. 6 hours self is pushing it.
Metering everyone is the way froward. But it still does not solve the cash flow issue. First, we're not up to 200 million in Nigeria (let's not argue this now). Second, not all homes are connected. Believe me, we can do better than 6 hours and there won't be any "pushing". Except I'm new in an area, I've never stayed in a neighborhood with poor power supply. I choose carefully. I don't have problem paying because I get value for my money. But for someone like me that keeps several residences accross the country, this estimated billing of a thing is a big problem. I've been out of the country since April and I know the bills are still accumulating. And to them, I'm one of the people owing. You see the problem? |
Politics › Re: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by DeOTR: 1:26pm On Nov 09, 2019 |
Kanade21: If we meter everyone, we are still left with the fact that we pay less than the actual cost of power here.
How do we solve that then?
I'm not in government, I don't like APC or PDP, and I have a right to my opinons. Not one is averse to increment in electricity tariffs if it will solve the age long problem of constant power failure. All we want is for the DISCOs to make prepaid meters available. That way, even if there's no light, we'll be rest assured that no one is short changing anyone. And any consumer that bypass the meter should be jailed. But no one will make additional sacrifice of paying huge bills for darkness. It won't happen. The consumers buy and maintain transformers from their own pockets. All the DISCOs do is bring the bills and collect money. That's charity taken too far in my opinion. |
Politics › Re: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by DeOTR: 1:12pm On Nov 09, 2019 |
Kanade21: Then we won't have power for 24/7 for now.
We are poor. Therefore let us pay for what we can afford., not what we wish for.
We need 80000mw to have power 24/7....that's 160billion dollars for the priviledge. Plus we need 100billion to upgrade and fix the transmission capacity. But since we are poor.
Ah, but we weren't poor to pay the high prices GSM companies demanded....
Plus, banks are refusing to finance the DISCOS and GENCOS because many of us don't pay. Unlike in the GSM sector...where you cannot use a phone without paying. Don't be deceieved. Even with the little we're generating, it can still give at least, 15 hours straight. Let the DISCOS continue with the estimated billing, the consumers will also continue paying 1/3 of the bill, since everybody no wan get sense. |

fergie001: I didn't want to argue with him....1900hrs etc.
I worked with PHCN and that's how we reported it.
I entered substation reports and that's how we write it....I can't say whether it's right of wrong, but according to them that's the standard... You can't blame him. |
Politics › Re: Darkness pervades the country as national grid collapses again by DeOTR: 1:02pm On Nov 09, 2019 |
Kanade21: At the end of the day, the money still needs to come from the consumers...and having the states generate their electricity means that people living there are going to pay higher prices for power.
Because I doubt any state or region can afford to pay for power without charging high prices for it.(and that includes oil prodcuing states.).
It does not matter how much we rearrange the furniture...the issue of paying for power is going to be there...like the big fat elephant in the room it is...glaring at us. Don't expect Nigerians to pay for services they never enjoyed. The DISCOS have to invest first, then we can go from there. But expecting consumers to pay through their noses for darkness, just for the hope of enjoying constant supply of electricity (which may never happen. I think many homes are paying more than they should already, with this estimated billing shiit), it won't happen. Come to think of it, DISCOS are owned by private owners like you and I. Are they charity organizations or why are you expecting poors Nigerians to fund private businesses? I'm aware almost all neighborhoods buy and maintain their transformers. Are they not charitable enough? |
