Lol... he has started. |
uchman:But he didn't really say anything for sure. Regardless of what happens, he could still interpret his words to align with the reality. |
eDarlling:When you are at someone's house, the host goes far and beyond to make you comfortable. They make sure you have no responsibilities. You wake up whenever you want, eat whatever you want and go wherever you want. You can't really compare vacations with your own home where you have responsibilities, think of the next day's meal, and manage expenses. Even if she was fattened by the fattening sugary foods in the US, it would still imply life there ain't healthy cause those fattening junks are mostly eaten by people who who can't afford good foods. All I'm saying is that she might have had a nice time, but her experience doesn't come close to that of people who go abroad to earn a living. |
eDarlling:This is not about abroad life but more about the fact that she went on 'holidays'. The same thing could have happened to her even if it was in Nigeria. People living abroad don't just stay home, sleep, eat and watch TV like she must have been doing. They go out to hustle. So using the experience of someone vacationing at a place to judge the experience of people living there is not very logical in my opinion. |
APOPTOSIS:Lol... at this point, it's either you don't understand or you don't want to. What you're expected to or not do depends on your line of work. If smoking during break doesn't affect your delivery or sales, no one cares. In the hospitality industry (traveling advisory, hotel management, tourism, etc.), the OP's posts could affect the brand negatively. I don't even know what apologizing to unvaccinated people has got to do with the discussion. I think you're just trying to paint the picture that employers are soft or couldn't care less about people's personal lives. And that's fine, but you have to understand that at the bottom of everything a business does lies the need to increase sales and earn more, and they would gladly cut off anything that stops them from doing that including any employee whose behavior could bring bad reputation to thier business. We've seen this happen over and over again in the US. |
APOPTOSIS:You missed the point. National security is for the armed forces, and that's not what the person you quoted was about. Employers of labor care more about thier brands and their market share, and thier employees create the first impression for these brands. The person you said danced in bikini did not do anything that put his or her skills to doubt. Besides, it was in the public sector where you don't just wake up and fire democratically elected individuals at will. However, for someone in the hospitality industry, sexism could EASILY get you fired just like racism, homophobia and other forms of bigotry. It directly conflicts with his expected dispositions as someone in that profession. You think his posts are not enough to stop a black woman from paying for thier service as a travel advisor, tour guide or whatever they do at their place of work? The person you quoted wasn't referring to the US government but brands, and he is 100% correct. |
samwash:You guys are always quick to call out another country. When foreigners call you scammers, poverty capital and all sorts of names, you start crying foul. What are the weird things happening in India that don't happen in your country, Nigeria? Was it not on this platform we saw the images of a woman growing cow legs somewhere in Western Nigeria? Y'all should take a second to think before you type. |
This was my comment on the other thread: etrange: |
You probably broke up with the English language a long time ago. Lol. |
osazuwa23:I don't see how this relates to what I said. Or maybe you didn't understand my post. I never said they don't know African people's tribes. |
This is good! In fact, it was long overdue. Real estate in Canada is way too expensive for a country of that population. These rich Asians that buy up properties for investments but don't live in the country are definitely the target. The next thing the government should do is to put a ceiling on the total number of houses an individual can have as an investor. This will take the control away from the greedy rich guys. Ogaga87:For life? This only affects non permanent residents and non citizens. If you're staying in Canada for life, then you'd be a permanent resident or a citizen. LeoDeKing: Ritchiee:Must you guys bring tribalism into everything on this platform? FYI Canada does not make policies based on what a group of people say, but based on what they observe happening. So if you're suggesting this policy is made to stop a certain tribe in Nigeria from purchasing houses in Canada, then you're invariably saying this tribe has actually been observed to be buying houses over there at an alarming rate and not just words of mouth. Whichever way, you'd still be wrong. The big players in the Canadian real estate industry are the rich Chinese guys who don't even live in the country. This policy targets them. |
Ridiculous |
Guys and thier unrealistic expectations. When it's time for marriage, y'all start looking for girls that fell from heaven. So your girl has met all you want in woman to the point where her father's sense of fashion is the next available thing to consider? What of her mother, does she know how to cook? Her uncle nko? To be serious, except you're the type that sees a lady today and plans to marry her next Easter, I assume you've been dating this girl for a while now. You know her character, her lifestyle, her ambitions, her outlook in life, etc. Even the father that puts on earings, you know more than any other person on this thread. Yet you're asking us if a single element of his attire is a red flag? So if we say yes, you'll leave the girl? How can the fact that he puts on earings be treated in isolation when it's evident that both good people and bad people put on earings? Many of y'all no longer have the capacity to assess situations and take decisions as men. You just come here to ask how to exist. My girls smiled today, what do I do? My girl likes cartoons, is it a red flag? Lol. |
Toxic masculinity is a very big issue in the black community. |
Is "Footballer" someone's name? If not, precede the noun will the indefinite article "a" so that your readers would know it's someone whose name you've failed to mention. |
You've known your brother since you were born. You know him more than everyone on Nairaland. You know his personality, when he's upset, when he's happy and when he's just being a typical loner. What exactly do you want the strangers on Nairaland to tell you about him? This is a forum full of teens and adults who do not have the courage to the things they type here on forums with proper KYC. Even the genuine ones don't care about you more than they care about any any other moniker that appears on thier screen. A Nairlander would typically type anything that makes them feel good about themself and move on to the next thread. Now tell me, is this the kind of people you want to tell you how to relate with your own brother? You either have this chat with your brother or just accept him the way he is. We all have our personalities and the best our loved ones can do for us is to let us be authentic ourselves even when it doesn't please them. After all, he relates well with y'all. So, forget about pleasantries and chitchats as those may not be his thing. Reach out to him to when there's something serious to discuss. He has your number, he'd do the same if need be. Everybody is happy. You might wish things were different, but it is what it is. We're all different and unique. You have your other brothers to relate with the way you want. Nicepoker: chigoziri2403:Oya, see the people you're asking how to relate with your brother having a field day with thier childish sexism. |
We want a smart/intelligent women. We want woman that work and earn well. We want women that bring something to the table. Etc. All na wash. Most of these guys want dependent wives. They say these things just to score argument points. The truth is, a man's lack of success usually inhibits his woman's progress especially when it comes to career aspirations or earning potential because the man would typically impose a ceiling on her ambitions using his own aggregate achievements. While it is true that some rich ladies treat thier husbands unfairly, this is not the main reason such men develop anxiety when their lovely wives show signs of earning more than them. The actual reason is the fear that the woman will treat them the way they (the men) treated thier wives at the moment. They also fear the societal perception of a man who earns less than his wife; the "qu'en-dira-t-on" (what will they say). And the direct implication of this is a society full of dependent women and those with mediocre success. Traditions and religions in Africa make life more difficult for men than it should, but thier ego won't let them reasses and adjust. They keep admiring the foreign women without the willingness to do what the foreign men do. C'est la vie. |
Lol... why does this sound unreal? It's obvious we read what they want us to read, and this post seems to have come after some in-person discussion and agreement. Whatever rocks thier boat! |
Pclemenza:Change always comes with controversies. |
The father didn't handle the conversation well. He can't have it both ways. He talked to the kid as if he was an adult and the kid replied as an angry grown up man (I'm assuming he's a teen). This idea of upsetting our children and then calling them disrespectful when they get pissed is just ridiculous. Heck... the child was even playing the adult role by trying to explain to him that his issues with thier mum shouldn't affect thier relationship, but the pop was behaving like the teenager. So he shouldn't complain when he's addressed as one. |
The fact that you asked ladies, but the men are all over the thread insulting/abusing thier mothers and sisters is enough to explain why keeping men might be difficult. Men can be inhibitions, they don't give space for thier women to be fulfilled in thier own rights. They see ladies as elements to complete thier own picture without caring much about the ladies' picture. In fact, men want to evolve while ladies don't, and that's not practical. This mostly apply to African men. So asking the women to say why they can't keep a man without blaming men invariably implies you've already concluded it is the woman's fault. In other words, you've already blamed the women and you're just forcing them to accept it and 'confess' thier guilt. Finally, it's not anyone's duty to keep anyone. People either stay or go. |
Y'all always say "I was sad for Nigeria when go to so-so place". You just looked through the airport at night and you saw skyscrapers and street lights, and then you feel sad for Nigeria. Lmao.... |
Nawa o... |
cenaman:Lol... bro say na "jakpa". You must be Igbo. |
KosiGee:You guys shaa. Have you seen a hermaphrodite before? If you haven't, then you can't be so sure about the placement of both organs. It differs from one person to another. Even if you were right about the exact location, it could still rub his scrotum while they were making out, and even during intercourse depending on thier position. Asking how his di.ck rose is a silly question. There's no mathematics to decide when it should rise and it when it shouldn't. The mere presence of a vagina, breasts and a beautiful face could do it for some. |
She wasn't even looking at him. Y'all don't have news or what? |
imadiyi:Whatever the context is, it is counter productive. Nobody will ignore her simply because you said they should. So all you ended up doing is giving her more attention. The best you would have done was to ignore her yourself. |
Someone would call himself an alpha male and still spend all his time discussing women. In fact NL guys have reduced themselves to a point where they gather like market women to discuss ladies the way fans discuss thier celebrities while the ladies are doing a perfect job playing the senior card. It used to be the other way round not too long ago. |
You want people to avoid her because she's seeking attention, and yet you created a whole thread about her and thereby giving the highest attention one can ever get on Nairaland. Some of you guys on this platform have unlocked a new level of dumbness. |
Kasdat5:Lol... This statement doesn't make sense, bro. Y'all just be typing anyhow. |
