mrdharkchild:I'm sure you were the one that held the paper for them when they were signing the contract. Have you ever been to a major hospital in Nigeria? All those people suffering from disfiguring diseases you've never heard of also signed pacts with the devil, right? Or it's only when the person is popular that you remember your devil? You walk around in good health, and you believe the other sick person is in that condition because they belong to the devil while you belong to God? Smh. |
Kobicove: themanderon:Those pics weren't all that recent. They were taken just after she lost her husband and her brother. She regained her weight not long after that, and anyone that watched her live performances saw that. But trust internet people, they held on to the pictures. |
Elidrisy20:This is what your brain could come up with after receiving the news of her illness? |
This got me teary-eyed. This adorable and exceptionally talented woman has been through a lot. |
Passpands:Lol... you want to get info from others, but you don't want others to get information from you? Why are you looking for advice from experts here? Why not just use Google? Anyway, sorry for your misfortune. With proper medication, the symptoms will go away and you'd eventually get to the undetectable stage. Like someone said, many people live with HIV today, and they're doing just fine. However, you'll need help to get your mind off it and to focus on living a normal life that's safe for you and yours. Best wishes! |
You said she's not dirty, but it's just not your thing. I think you should communicate that. If you can't tell each other your preferences, then there's a bigger problem than what typed up there. Talk with your woman. There are multiple alternatives to mouth action. You both can explore and find out what works for all. If it is a deal-breaker for her, then you'll have to decide if it is a deal-breaker for you too. And if that's the case, you can conclude you're not sexually compatible. The whole essence of dating before marriage is to identify these differences and know the ones that are deal-breakers. So why ignore or even cover them when you see them? You'll only end up hurting yourselves and each other. In summary, tell her in the most polite way you could talk to a loved one. She either sacrifices that particular pleasure or you sacrifice your comfort or you path ways. |
Many Nigerians have no decorum at all. When you read thier comments and see how they insult/abuse people who don't agree with thier views on public forums, you'd be embarrassed. Everything is aggression, force... like these guys are so crude. The sad thing is that they somehow they believe this makes them cool or fearsome. |
Munachimso30:A very important question. People asking him to go to school, do IT and start earning big forgot to ask if he's got the papers to support that plan. |
She nailed it. She's in the entertainment industry. She needs the attention to be considered suitable for promotion projects and this outfit commands attention like crazy! It is the default reaction of Nairaland guys to insult any young fashionable lady that appears here. It's as if it hurts them to see a lady making it while they're still toiling the ground. But such is life. Each comment you type, hateful or not, only gets her more attention and makes her more money. |
This is what the gender bias on this platform has resulted into. |
FoolaniHellman:Wow... Did you read the write-up on the cardboard sheets they had with them? |
Holla911:No, you are wrong and you know it. For such sessions, the president consults with his team before going. He doesn't bring them there to answer the questions thrown at him. Which other president have you seen doing this? Or is Tinubu the only person that knows how to be a president? They are all brilliant, but there's a reason one person is called the lead. Or are you saying that when he's invited to international sessions with different leaders, he will go with his entire cabinet and be pointing at them to answer questions directed at him? We might as well close the office of the president in Nigeria. You people are not dumb, I know it. What I don't know is why you've all decided to be acting dumb. Deep down, you know you are wrong, but you'll type anything to defend the candidate you've chosen out of sentiments even when it makes zero sense. Nawa o. |
So he can speak Igbo? |
kidap:Popularly known for talking down on his guests... Rufai has threatened... Were you there when he was threatening? Please, learn how to report objectively. As a blogger, getting as much readers as possible should trump your desire to take sides. Use words like "claimed", "allegedly", etc. when reporting allegations/accusations. And don't depict one party in a bad light. You guys call yourselves bloggers, but you're just like any other Nairaland commenter with a bigger space to type your opinion. |
Ofunaofu:He said Atiku should let those with clean hands do the criticism. |
Y'all shouting embarrassment, disgrace, etc as if Nigeria not making at all wasn't disgraceful enough. At least, Senegal and Ghana has increased the number of time they've been to the world cup tournament. |
JabiTechNG:There are better ways to promote your app than all these fake stuff you keep sharing. You're driving people away. Your UI is even like crayon imagines. |
onumadu:Make it a policy is a vague expression. What exactly will the policy say that will employers more powerful than they are today? Hourly pay policies protect both parties. In the absence of such policies, employers could still pay hourly and employees will not have anything to reference when maltreated. So how does bringing in guidelines make things worse for employees today? If you're so concerned about the policy, then let's discuss this policy instead saying no "because he will make it a government policy". We have homeless people every big city. Walk down the streets of Lagos at night and see how many people live under the bridge. It's a big city problem and we just happen to have more big cities in some countries. It has absolutely nothing to do with the payment system. The same elders that put into this mess in the first place? People fear change because it disruptive. They fear the new system might turn thier lives upside down. That's why it's difficult for some people to adopt new technologies at work. Some people will go to any mile to tell you that typewriter is better than computer or than manual vehicles give a better driving experience than the automatic ones or that automating our voting system wrong. There will always be naysayers, but you can't move forward if you keep listening to them. |
You guys abuse the English language. They welcomed him and took pictures with him. The fact that the officials were on duty/at work means it wasn't a hangout. It's only termed a hangout when you spend time with people relaxing or socializing informally. |
Nairaland men behaving like he-goats on the front page. @OP, there's little you can do about it. People moan during sex as it adds to the pleasure for them. When it's loud, it could be frustrating for the neighbors. Telling them won't change much. You just have to find a way to deal with it. It's a good thing you don't have kids. Pele. |
onumadu:Government policy, enormous, vicissitudes, none of the words actually tells me what the concerns are. Let's get to those details and see the devil. What are these extreme consequences that would make us outrightly reject the introduction hourly payment system? No country uses the hourly payment system alone. It's always there as an option. No establishment can survive with only hourly paid employees because they are contractors that either get renewed after a period or they move on. So there's no possibility of that taking away the salaried/permanent employment. Besides, some people in Nigeria are already paid hourly. So when you fear it might become a policy, what is the concern? I personally believe the policy will standardize it and make such employees have contract numbers for management and even protection. Honestly, the only I see here is the usual fear of change. People (especially the older ones) always get nervous when the system they know so well is about to change. They see it as a threat and start kicking against it without good reasons. |
tensazangetsu20:I don't understand. Going by what? And which four countries? I pointed out many things that should be put into consideration: language, passport index, job availability, salary, tax, diversity/racism, naturalization, etc. None of these things should be treated in isolation, and when all are considered, Portugal isn't any better option than the UK. That was the point in that comment. |
Maybe I'm not getting it right. In the so-called advanced countries y'all talk about, both hourly and salary payment systems are adopted. Employees can register as independent contractors (paid hourly) and take full control the period they want to work and when they don't. Employers can also save by hiring such workers for jobs that are considered temporary (e.g software projects) while still having permanent salaried employees. So introducing that to the country won't eliminate the salary system but give both the employer and employee choices, right? It has consequences for both parties, but they can always opt out, right? Educate me, please. |
SeaTrade:Lmao... |
tensazangetsu20:I don't really see how Portugal is easier or better. Salaries aren't exactly mind-blowing there either. The country has the 6th most powerful passport in the world alongside Ireland, France and the UK. It takes the same number of years to be a citizen (5 years with a few different conditions). In the UK, your child also qualifies for citizenship if you're legally settled in the country and even though they're no longer in the EU, it's still a global passport backed by many bilateral agreements. Taxes might be lower in Portugal but that comes at a cost. You must learn Portuguese to pass the citizenship screening and the country is less diverse than the UK, which means more racism. You said there are tons of countries with strong passports; the question is, how many of them are anglophone? Or you don't see the role of language in migration patterns or even in life's endeavors? In life, everything is about struggling. You've mentioned why the UK path is a struggle, but the mere fact that you have to learn Portuguese to be a citizen or get a great job in Portugal makes that path a a big struggle too, and staying in Nigeria is not any easier. So let people do whichever one thet feel they have what it takes to do. Don't assume they don't do thier research. People aren't exactly dumb. |
Ever thought of the pollution from the vehicle? |
Lol... is it your regret? Let them be. You stay home and make the millions. Everyone does what makes them happy. Do yours and let others do thiers. |
I can't believe someone sat down to type this. You don't tell people how to mourn. People express grief in different ways. If he has decided not to have any shows this December either as a way of showing respect to his late son or because he's still grieving, that's valid. You are only a fan, not a family member or even a friend. The reality is that you don't care about his son or whatever he's going through. You only want new shows and songs to help you relax. That's OK. But the guy has his priorities as well. Respect that. This is a well established musician, not some under-the-bridge singer. Missing out on the 2022 December business alone will neither kill his career nor make him a poor man. Some musician stay out of the limelight for years and still come back with hits. You made this comment from the point of view of a poorer person, but the person in question isn't poor. While it is true everyone wants more money, some people have higher priorities than some millions. His inner peace is what matters the most. |
Annjones1:Canadian passport is 8th in the World with 185 countries. That's the actual index. New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and Belgium all have the same index 7th (186 countries). You're using Wikipedia's misinterpretation of HPI (Hanley Passport Index) and it's misleading cause passports of the same index are given different numbers according to that interpretation. For example, Japan is number 1(193 countries) while Singapore and South Korea are supposed to be ranked 2 (192 countries each). However, they assign Singapore 2 and South Korea 3, and thereby giving the wrong impression that Singapore is above South Korea. Then the next set of countries that should have been ranked 3 (Germany and Spain with 190 countries each) are given 4 and 5 respectively; again, given the wrong impression that Germany is higher than Spain. This is why you see them reporting Australia and Canada as 29th and 20th (even though they both have 185 countries each) instead of 8th. This violates the definition of index which should be about position and not just counting. If you want to know the actual index according to HPI, don't look at Wikipedia or other sites/blogs; go directly to HPI's official website here: https://www.henleyglobal.com/passport-index and if you want to know more about traveling visa-free as a Canadian passport holder, go straight to https://www.immigration.ca/power-of-canadian-passport-moves-up-a-notch-in-new-index/ |
Dude, pay your loan. When you went to borrow, you did it silently. Now it's time to pay, you're creating threads. |
ednut1:Lol... the people creating these videos are new Japarians. Those that will japa tomorrow will still create videos to say the same thing. |
