Seun, give Nairaland a facelift. The site is long overdue for a page redesign. I have been visiting Nairaland over the past 10 years or more and the website still looks exactly as it looked ten years ago. Introduce new features and make the page to be HTML-5 compatible. Redesign some existing features on the page and also introduce more reaction/edit buttons (delete, edit, share, etc) to make Nairaland to be more engaging for users. The existing "Share" feature under posts does not even link to any outside program. You can change this. Please take these suggestions seriously but be assured we truly love Nairaland. Thank you.

Nairaland was down for two hours due to a minor miscommunication with our host that was related to copyright infringement.

It shouldn't have taken as long as 2 hours to restore Nairaland, but it took a while for us figure out exactly what to do because it hadn't happened before, and we also had to wait for our host's support team to restore us fully after taking the necessary steps.

Anyone close to the family or close to someone close to the family would've gotten a clue about your identity from your descriptions.

The bottom line is that you could have made up the story and we wouldn't know what to believe. Nowadays, people have started getting more creative with writing fake stories.

Anyways, I am hopeful the current spate of violence will abate. Don't think I'm sentimental, but the Palestinians have a lot more to lose if the fighting persists. I feel touched reading your story. A cousin of mine had gone through similar situation in the past but he healed and today he's perfectly okay and doing well in his business. The descriptions you narrated fit exactly what my cousin had passed through. Now, I am not in Nigeria to assist personally. But I do remember where the family brought my cousin for his treatment. Go to Agulu (Agulu is a town near Awka in Anambra State) and ask for the psychiatric home run by a man named Akataaka. I don't know his real names but Akataaka is what he's known by. Just make enquiries and take your brother to Agulu.

So I took him home. Every month, I buy drugs for him and he gets injected. He usually puts up a fight but with the help of my younger brother, neighbors and a certain nurse, he receives the injection, forcefully and against his will.
Often times, he pleads with me not to inject him, the very time I obliged him, he scattered things, didn't allow the neighborhood sleep, talked throughout some nights and wouldn't eat sometimes. He looked really sick then but with the injection, one will hardly know he's not normal.
I told him that I won't let him miss his injection ever again.

Now, on Monday, my younger brother woke up and was unusually quiet. He normally wakes up and begins to play music with his phone or he will turn to football channel and watch until I leave for work. But I didn't go to work on Monday and I noticed he was quiet, then I asked him why he's quiet. He didn't respond. Neighbours thought it was my elder brother's voice they'd heard that night but by the time they heard in the morning that it was my younger brother, they visited my Dad in the evening. By then, my brother was still talking and even burnt his clothes yesterday.
My Dad got a few guys to chain him because he was violent yesterday when I left the house.
I know the problem is spiritual. I have prayed, fasted for my elder brother and now this!

I would not have bothered to dignify your useless comment with a response, but since you needed the attention let me remind you that the brown-roof jungle that you call Ibadan, despite its being mouthed as the biggest city in West Africa, is but a glorified urban city.

Had Ibadan suffered the kind of destruction that befell Enugu city in the civil war, it probably would have ceased to exist, perhaps literally obliterated from the map.

A conspiracy of Northern and Yoruba power interests after the civil war denied the Igbos any chances of rebuilding their airport structures to international standards due to unfounded fears that Igbos might start to import weapons. This is why it had taken several years before the FG would reluctantly agree to upgrade the Enugu airport to international standards.

The headline says one thing and the introductory part of the story says quite a different thing. Just read the headline and then read the beginning part of the story to understand that writer's confusion.

I don't mean to offend you but is this really an issue that you needed to bring to our attention? Because I do not see this as an issue. It bothers me that men are also beginning to nag a lot, like the women. Not every issue requires undue attention and intervention of outsiders. As a man there are certain matters you must address by yourself and not invite others to tell you what to do . You can also learn to overlook certain issues and theatrics coming from a woman. I did not see an issue worth troubling your mind over in the story that you just related.

I have sometime in February this year made a post of a lady I met and who refused taking my calls one certain night and which I did a post seeking for advise here.

Let me now go straight to the recent happening in the relationship with this lady whom I met in the church and who also live in the same estate with me in fact her house is not that far from mine though she is living with her aunt.

It happened that on Wednesday being the 21st of April, 2021, when I arrived home from work, it is my usual practice to call her and when I called her that very day, she took her call and told me that she is very hungry and her reason was that she didn't like what they cooked in her house. I have to invite her over to my house and she ate very well and even took a bottle of soft drink before leaving for her house that night which I also gave her a naira note in case she wants to buy anything the following day.

The following day being the 22nd of April, as usual when I came back from work around 6:30pm, I put two calls across to her which were made in different intervals, but lol and behold this lady I thought she was my girl friend didn't pick up the calls, I remained calmed and went to bed that night.

However, during the course of the night, around 11:30pm that night my phone rang and I took the phone to know who was calling, it was this my so called girl friend that was calling, I had to ignore the call.

The following day very early in the morning she called again but I was preparing for work and I didn't want anything that will ignite sad mood on me, I have to ignored her calls even when I was at the office.

Later in the evening when I was about leaving the office she called again and I picked up the call with a mild attention, she then asked why I refused taking her calls since, I replied her by saying that she started it, this lady has to immediately end the call and up until now she has refused to take my calls or call back.

Please I really want to know who is at fault here because she is now making it look as if I am at fault but as it is I have made up my mind to call it a quit if she can not step down her pride and apologize. I will appreciate you guys opinions on this.
