He died because he is a Nigerian and lived in a country with weak health system. He wouldn't have died if he was a South African or lives there. When I watch NatGeo wide! I see how dogs are treated of snakes bite talk more of humans. Our life expectancy in this part of the world is indeed low. Don't blame those migrating out of Nigeria to Canada and other countries. Security of life, high life expectancy, good medical care and assured future are the motivation. Rest In Peace young man. Your nation failed you. |
For your information, she is the head of South Africa's Economic Advisory Council. She is not just a floor member or just invited. She was made the head by the South African president Unlike what we have in Nigeria where good brains are made floor members while incompetent ones because of their connections are made chairmen and secretaries. |
Graduated at 22 ! In Nigeria, some people at this age just finished writing their SSCE ![]() Though, with the advent of the private universities and schools, people are now graduating at 20 and 21 years. That's why most graduate entry level positions that requires maximum of 25 years are been occupied by those from Covenant and other private universities. But the some sad Nigerian youths will keep on bashing these private universities as "glorified" secondary schools. My client hired 9 trainee engineers after a thorough and grueling recruitment procedure, all came from private universities and abroad. If you have money, please head to any private and graduate in record time. Age is now a major consideration in lucrative entry job positions and in seeking oversea scholarship. |
Favour and Grace can always take one to a height beyond his imagination. |
Weak man and introverted. I hate it when I see young men cry and lament about ladies or their girlfriend. Go and face your hustle Biko. Don't call her your girlfriend. She is not. You are just interested in her the same way your friend is interested in her. |
Well deserved. Let the sufferings continue. Nigerians are special breed of people. Profligacy in all sectors and areas of our national life. Isn't there an operational vehicles before? |
Liverpool! But can they still win the league? I am just asking for a friend. I see City winning all their remaining matches but not Liverpool ![]() |
It was my travel to UK in 2009 to start my masters program courtesy of PTDF scholarship. Prior to that, I haven't entered plane before. It was a KLM plane that I boarded that first landed in Amsterdam. I was shocked and that was when I knew that there was so much gap between a developed country and a developing country. Then from Amsterdam to Aberdeen, as I entered Aberdeen city to my university, I felt ashamed of Nigeria. I started cursing all our past leaders. See the decency on the road with well marked roads, pedestrian walk ways, traffic light and the beauty of Aberdeen. I went to a lot of places in Scotland as a student - from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, Perth, Dundee, St. Andrews and Blairgowrie. All these places were well developed. No place was left out unlike the kind of development we see in Africa where only the country's capital is better developed. It was an eye opener as I kept wondering why we couldn't replicate the same in Africa. All regions, villages and towns received the same attention from government. We are far far behind when compared to Europe. Their ancestors must have made a great sacrifice to build a better society for the future generations. Here in Nigeria and Africa, current generation care less about the future ones. For their mind, make una come follow us suffer Wetin we suffer. The heart of a black man is wicked biko. |
mvem:There is no scientific and calculated guess work here. He was just making an un verifiable assumption. How could he have said that the hot weather "may" be responsible. If you are following up on the corona virus research, you will see outcomes from on going research regarding the impact of heat on the virus. Doctors in China and World health have also done their own check to see if there is impact of environmental condition on the virus but none came out positive. Here, you have one doctor in his office using the usual, "may be" to say rubbish. Also go and believe the current narrative going on that the reason for slow spread of the virus in Africa is because black skin is immune to the virus. Oga, I like facts, figures, infographics and we'll documented evidence on claims and not "may be." |
Nigerian scientists/doctors and engineers and guess work are like 5 & 6 Everything is usually like, "may be this, may be that". No scientific proof. Only assumption. Tufiakwa! |
Anger, poverty, frustration and difficult environment like Nigeria are deadly combination. Poor people should stop having children. I don't know the reason why you should have children when you don't have the means to cater for them. Having children while poor is adding more trouble and frustration to an already worst situation. The worst is that you will see them breeding children like rabbits without giving a thought on how to turn them into a decent human being. Most of all these children will later turn out to be a menace to the society. |
When I saw this man's philanthropic gestures, I knew he was up to something. He may be a good man but not suited for the Nigerian politics. Soludo seems more suited at this time. Anambra needs an economic technocrat to harness its potential and not a philanthropic medical doctor. Anyway, which way it goes, both are good for the state. Learned and seasoned gentlemen. |
See them, especially the ABIA people insulting him online yet they were the same people that voted him. This man was supposed to loose by wide margin considering the fact that he was contesting against Alex Otti, a seasoned technocrat, yet the idiotic ABIA people felt that Ngwa man deserved to be the Governor of the state. See the consequences - bad governance all over the place. Election has consequence and they should face the consequence of bad governance. Next time, their eyes go clear when choosing a leader - Ndi Abia, Ndoo nu! |
FAKE!!! All na acting. If you know, you know |
These frivolity are the things that makes the citizens not to pay tax. As long as the people continue to see government as wasteful and corrupt, they will continue to withhold paying their fair share of tax. The profligacy in government at all levels in Nigeria is mind boggling. Wastages in the award and execution of contracts, unnecessary travels and seminars, high number of redundant aids and so many other fiscal indiscipline. How do you expect a hustling guy and those that run their small businesses to pay tax when they knew that the government would squander the money. Tax is a social contract between the government and the people and government need to be held to account in Nigeria the same way is done abroad. |
A serving corps member in my client's place said that the same way Jonathan treated militants with kid grooves and even invited them to Aso Rock is the same way Buhari is treating Boko boys - So nobody should complain. I was quick to point out to him that the militants amnesty was granted by Umaru Musa Yar a dua and not Jonathan but he insisted it was Jonathan and that the South was applauding him. Now that Buhari is doing the same, people are lambasting him. I just shook my head for this country and their mentality. |
No wonder one of my guys quickly moved into his building uncompleted. Agencies were coming, pasting notices up and down. He quickly did his interior and moved in asap. No need wasting time and money. |
Nigerian lecturers and stupidity - He should have faced his business of teaching in the class than getting concerned about the girl's wear. There has never been any love between lecturers and students in Nigerian universities. Lecturers always look down on students without respect - some even feel that they are doing you a favor by teaching you. Go abroad and see synergy between lecturer and students - seasoned Professors with world class publications in learned journals. Here, you would see one frustrated sadist forming god. |
Good! UK and tax systems. Nigerians go abroad and enjoy the good things that the countries oversea offers like good health care, good road network and well maintained lawn and environment. Imagine what the city of London makes from this congestion tax. UK has a lot of taxes people pay which goes a long way in making the city and environment habitable. My host in Houston got a demand notice from Houston city council to pay $23 for allowing his grasses in front of his house to overgrow above certain height. These fines and levies are channeled towards city management. If you introduce such in Nigeria, people will protest and riot yet the expect the best of standard of living. |
I am sure this guy attends all these Pentecostal churches or must have seen one stupid pastor. Please don't blame the poor woman on your misfortune. Get up and continue your hustle. She has no hand in your misfortune. Don't listen to any pastor or man of God concerning this fire incidence. Nigerians and myopic believes. No wonder we are too crude and backwards in this country. |
Honestly, when the whites refer to us as backward and savages, I don't blame - the people that are the cause of racial profiling of Africans overseas have never travelled outside the country. The mind and value orientation of Nigerians and black man need to be changed through education and exposure. Why not take the animal to the next zoo or any conservation center. A young man started a conservation center in Epe, Lagos and he is seriously sourcing for these kind of exotic animals. Schools and people visit his center and pay money to see these animals. But some people will prefer to kill and eat the animal. Note that the young man I mentioned here is not a Nigerian but from Greece and have lived in Lagos for more than 20 years now. |
Marxxx:Good. I have been in the corporate world for close to 14 years. From telecom to banking and to energy. I felt I have had enough and decided to go solo in 2017. So far, God has been kind. I told myself that I would have my own business at 40 years and that is what I did exactly irrespective of the uncertainty surrounding starting one's business in Nigeria. Luckily, I don't sell tangible goods or have a brick and mortar shop, I offer intangible services and neither do I have a shop. |
Poverty is cultural in Northern Nigeria. Poverty is seen as a way of life which is pleasing to Allah. |
Marxxx:You are right but it is good to join at a graduate level and grow through the ranks. Nevertheless, I am on my own now running my own consultancy. It is not easy as you are not sure and certain of getting money unlike when I was still a full time corporate employee. However, I am very hopeful and optimistic of my success as a solo consultant. ![]() |
Enugu, Ndi waawa! ![]() |
Monkeyprick:I am not but when I see an artistic masterpiece, I will know. |
All these comments makes some of us that wants to remain in Nigeria look insane. I had all the opportunity to leave Nigeria but just couldn't. I seems to be in charge of my affairs and life here in Nigeria. What I did was to give citizenship to my kids by having them abroad but all of us are still in Nigeria. I seems to be relatively ok and enjoying my consultancy job with the little freedom it offers me. I wouldn't want to start life again. I did my masters in UK more than 10 years ago, but still came back because of family and boredom. For now, no regret staying back in Nigeria. I believe strongly that my success and fulfilment will come here. The future is bright and the right contacts are also being made. I remain HERE! |
How much did he pay as Tax? He must have something to do with government. The kind of money they call in this country. FIRS and government will not bother to follow up with the wealthy for them to pay their fair share of tax. Rather they will be busy harassing struggling businesses. The rich in Nigeria makes so much money in property yet pays nothing as tax. Go to UK and see the contribution of property tax to the coffers of Her Majesty Revenue and Customs. The rich should know that paying their fair share of taxes will enable certain basic things to be fixed and helps curb the menace of joblessness and poverty ravaging the majority of the people. The rich in Nigeria should be held to an account for them to pay taxes. I can bet you that as a middle working class, I pay more taxes than these billionaires. Nigeria is a world of two extremes. Extremely poor and stupendously wealthy people. |
ZombieHUNT:Bro, note that majority of people that voted the current government do not apply for all these visas. They are oblivious of the world outside their environment. It is only the informed and the learned that suffer the consequences of bad government that they were never part of. As long as the wretched, the uninformed and the street people continues to bring in government in Nigeria, we all, especially the professionals and the working class will continue to suffer the consequences. Nigeria's INEC should adopt US way of assessing voters demographics - it would show the demographics make up of voters in Nigeria and their professions, their inclinations and thinking. The last elections may tell you the thinking of working class professionals. The current government lost woefully in places like Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki, Maitama, Abuja in general, Gbagada, Ikeja and areas populated by highly informed citizens. |
lastmessenger:When you people are not united. If Igbo man challenges SARS, his Yoruba counterpart will support SARS and says he deserves what he got from SARS. If Yoruba man challenges SARS, Igbo man will say, na dem, Afonja muslims are known for yahoo yahoo. If the victim is from South South, other southern regions will say it is their hobby. Edo people are known for yahoo and prostitution. The system is capitalizing on the disunity in the south to cause havoc in the South. |
No sympathy - they should all suffer the mal governance in that state. They had the opportunity to elect a technocrat in the person of Dr. Alex Otti and chose to elect the the kerosene distributor. Election has consequences and the consequences are what all of them are seeing. The same way we elect charlatans in the federal government and expect miracle to happen, you are deceiving yourself. You will end up electing charlatans and come back behind computer to be abusing them. |
XANDERBOY85:Landscaping, green grass and aesthetics are not Nigerian things. That's why our buildings and projects looks like one big concrete mould. No innovation in building design. The same concrete works all around. What stops the contractor from using a monopitch roof design and do away with those useless pillars in front of the shops supporting the roofs? We are not creative when it comes to innovative building design. |
