They did attend Cambridge alumni together. I saw an old picture of the two laughing together. I am sure if not for Abba, the government would have used EFCC to finish FFK.

Abba seemed to have interceded for him in his corruption case. No one is hearing about it again.

With Covid -19, there is no border

Even those praying for his death are hypocritically typing RIP as if they cared.

His death does not change your situation. Don't judge anybody for you are not even perfect.

I hate racism in any form but truly, black man sometimes misbehaves.

As a student in UK in the late 2000,sometimes, I felt ashamed of the behavior of some of my fellow Nigerian students. Some were simply notorious and got hailed by the typical Nigerian back benchers student.

I failed to identify with a lot of them.

Must it be a medical field? As a development consultant, I am sound in monitoring and evaluation jobs.

I don't mind offering my services o. I think I will apply and see how it goes.

This goes a long way to enrich ones field work experience. I will have to get my complete PPE if I am called.

This is a call for national service. Over a million people volunteered for this kind of service in UK.

Why can't I do same in Nigeria?

I doubt if companies would pay. I haven't submitted my invoice to my client as they haven't received in flows from their own customers.

That's emotional consideration from my own part. I also follow up on them to advise them on how to navigate through this crisis and follow through with their receivables.

Their success is also my success. Though I need my pay but I am also mindful of the fact that they are facing challenges.

Good write up. I remember my stay in UK between 2009 to 2010 when I went to do my masters courtesy of PTDF scholarship.

I started in September 2009 and by 2010, I had submitted my thesis.

I got a job in St. Andrews Community hospital, Scotland as an office assistant.

The matron asked me to be assisting the nurses in some of the duties with an increased pay.

Mind you, I wasn't trained as a nurse. My masters was on finance.

But I enjoyed my work so much and my scottish colleagues liked me without any bias. No racism at all, and they were very free with me as I worked so hard to win their trust and respect.

The lady nurses were so fond of me that they were always seeking for my attention and companionship.

The Matron noticed it and smiled why we were having a private informal discussion and said jokingly that I was now a darling of the nurses. She said, " please make your choice quickly among the nurses so that others will know where they stand".

I was just laughing and she said she meant her statement.

There is no such segregation in the health care sector over there in the North.

Indeed, millions of my country men and women are living in poverty.

So the most marginalized region has the lowest poverty index?

It may be true going also by reports from UN, UNDP and other development agencies. Despite being marginalized, the region still boast the region with lowest incidence of poverty.

That tells you that the greatest assets of any country is their human resources. Nigeria government should work hard towards improving the quality of her citizen.

As I always said, poverty in the North is cultural and religious in nature. These two social lifestyles needs to be modified to reduce the endemic poverty in the North.

Nigerians and poverty and yet people will continue to breed like rabbits.

There is need for a strong policy on population. Over population is not good for Africa as the resources are not sufficient for the people.

The rate of child birth among rural dwellers and those within the poverty bracket is alarming.

Living in Onitsha as it is now is a stress itself.

The multi-storey buildings are so jam packed that you could be in one building and stretch out your hand to collect something from someone staying in opposite building.

The city itself is just too congested, rough, disorganised, lawless, crude and poorly planned.

That's how it is done abroad. Celebrities are charged to court and huge money collected from them after conviction to be used to run the court and the justice department.

I can see all those workers are black. So, many blacks will be blessed due to these corona wahala.

UK is even worse. Most whites have put in for sick leave and some have claimed one sickness or the other.

Most nurses on the front lines are black. Some said their leave requests were turned down. However, majority are there because of the huge bonus.

A nurse from my town in Nigeria working in Bronx area said he is paid $200 each day as bonus hazard allowance apart from his salary.

Mehn, I doubt if we are following the news of what is happening in other parts of the world.

My prayer and hope is that our immune system and weather are fighting off this virus for us.

I am doing everything to let my children imbibe our local language but it has been so difficult and my wife is not helping matters.

I speak local language to them now and if they don't understand, I explain but my wife is the type that forms the so called porch and tushed and is not supporting me in this mission. She has continued with the English language mentality.

I am trying to see if my 14months baby will pick up but my wife speaks English to him like his siblings.
