Hmmm... it is neither here nor there. I saw a case a man called those ones that sells Agbo jajadi to come and sell. Small time they started jisting as if they had known themselves and I suspected that the guy was toasting the woman and she was laughing hysterically.

I was waiting for my plumber to come, the guy and the Agbo seller went inside. They stayed for like 20mins.

My plumber arrived and went inside, he immediately came out and was smiling. I asked him what happened and he said the guy de nack the babe inside.

I hope the scenario in this case is not a case of not settling the babe and she reported rape to the police.
PoliticsRe: BREAKING: P&ID must forfeit all its assets to Nigeria, Court rules by Focusmind: 12:24pm On Sep 19, 2019
Nigerian courts cannot arbitrate or adjudicate on matters between P &ID and the Nigerian government.

Nigerian government signed an agreement that all matters concerning their contract with P&ID would be decided in British courts or the international court for arbitration.

The Abuja court judgment is of no effect. Nigerian leaders should be serious in scrutinizing contracts before they sign and not stop running up and down when issues comes up. They ought to have done what they were supposed to do but failed in the usual Nigerian way of " leaving like that. Nothing go happen".

They are used to running to court to obtain fake judgment - it wont work in this case. Go back to the British court and tell the British Crown Court to order P&ID to forfeit their Nigerian assets and not one Mahmud court in Abuja.
CareerRe: Why Do Entrepreneurs Talk Down On 9-5? by Focusmind: 11:25am On Sep 19, 2019
Hedonisco:
Since you're talking from your narrow perspective, have you ever bothered to find out how many employees in Nigeria earn up to N150k a month?

When evaluating this matter, you should compare 'like for like'. You don't compare a low level entrepreneur with a mid level manager earning a good salary, or even with an entry level guy working at a plum job like ExxonMobil. That's ridiculous. What's the percentile of graduates working at such jobs in comparison with the vast majority of hungry, underemployed employees slaving away for peanuts every month?

Now check the under 50 home owners across Nigeria's major cities. 90% of them are entrepreneurs. Thousands of average Igbo and Yoruba traders and hustlers own very nice middle class duplexes everywhere across Lagos, Abuja etc. How many 'average' employees can boast of same?

Apart from the tiny percentage of salary earners fortunate enough to have NLNG type of jobs with outrageous salaries, any average employee who owns a decent duplex or even bungalow in a decent part of Lagos or Abuja is likely a thief - benefitting from the corruption that is the only thing that they know how to do. He did not and cannot build/buy a house and live that kind of lifestyle from his legitimate salary.

Better face facts.
This is the part the OP failed to understand. Why haven't the working people have their own houses. Throughout the period I rented houses, all were owned by people running their businesses. Mainland especially, Gbagada, Ikeja, Isolo, Magodo, Festac - 90% of the houses belong to entrepreneurs.

You cant be comparing a struggling entrepreneur with someone that just started working in a bank or oil company. Of course, the guy doing the 9 - 5 job would be better off.

When looked evenly, OP, those with their businesses are far more better in terms of welfare - Average salary of all Nigerians working 9 - 5 is not up to 40k per month.

I am in 9 - 5 now, but my transition to entrepreneurship or consulting as in my case is not far from now. Once my consulting hustle start gets up to 50% of my 9 - 5 pay, I am off.

I need to take charge of my life style and define my future. I told my self that by age 40 years, I should have my own house and business. Eagerly working towards it - it may be difficult initially but I always believe in hard work

PoliticsRe: You Can’t Be Broke With 15 Govs, 44 Senators, PDP Staff Tell Party by Focusmind: 8:43am On Sep 18, 2019
From 1999 to 2014, Wadata house was like an oil company, a conglomerate head quarter, where a recent graduate wished to work. The jumbo pay and other "shareable" were in abundance.

I remember one of my colleagues then in UK during our PTDF scholarship studies that got job opportunity in PDP secretariat, the guy abandoned the PTDF scholarship study, barely 6 months after we started our studies. We started in September and by February the following year, he got the offer and went back home.

He is from Adamawa and his contact helped him secured a job in PDP secretariat in their communication department. My guy just abandoned his studies and returned back home to take up the offer.

Things have turned around for once popular wadata house. Nothing is permanent in this life. As supporters would always say, PDP is "CUMMING". Be on the watch out

Origin still remain one of their most successful new products.

VAT from alcohol should be shared to states based on volume of consumption in each state of the federation.

You can't ban alcohol in Kano and still receive the VAT collected from its sales in Lagos or Anambra.

Precisely!

I want him to focus on his bid to be the next Governor of his state! He's not like your typical desperate and greedy politician that will lose to an opponent and then want to scatter everything like the wicked woman before King Solomon! I like how -even as he lost to Obiano- he still supported his tenure for good 8 years! So he has paid his dues!
He is the best candidate for Anambra after Obiano. I would like to see how his economic agenda would affect the state. I want to see a technocrat become a governor in Nigeria. Forget all those people that claim technocrat - they are not ..

But Nigeria's political environment is just too complicated - even technocrats would struggle to make an impact - there are a lot of vested interests that stifle one's idea.

i will rather have him chair that forum..so that he can implement his ideas without hitch and if they are rejected , he will come out to say his ideas were rejected.

its better not to include Soludo if u just want to make him a contributor.
OBJ tenor was the sweetest as far as employment is concerned(i can say that anywhere anytime any-day)
That's one thing a lot of Nigerians have not understood about OBJ tenure. Graduate employment reached a record level ever seen in decades.

I witnessed it well, writing a lot of aptitude tests, cutting across banks, multinationals and oil and gas. Some companies were even going to UK for recruitment of Nigerians.

Today, everything has dried up. Even politicians are seeking and begging for jobs for their kids that they spent thousands of dollars in training abroad.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Appointment Of Charles Soludo Makes Me Believe He Means Well For Nigeria by Focusmind: 7:54am On Sep 17, 2019
My friend from Anambra said that Soludo should decline the offer and focus on his governorship ambition under APGA.

He has been pencilled down to take over from Obiano.

Accepting this offer will see him as a member of APC, and it would be difficult for him to seek for APGA ticket again neither will APC give him ticket.

He should maintain with his APGA and try his luck again for governor of Anambra which is his main ambition.
TravelRe: Two Dead, As Container Falls On Car In Lagos [photo] by Focusmind: 2:23pm On Sep 16, 2019
I rather follow containers behind than to drive by its side - avoid side driving with containers, just follow it jejely - it may be slow in moving but just relax , better to arrive late than to be late.

Nigeria's environment is very unforgiving - deaths rocking in all sides. Ask those relocating abroad the reason, one is for the future of their children and second is insecurity in the land.

The insecurity in this country is too much. Insecurity is not only when you are killed by arm robbers or kidnappers - insecurity in bad roads, organized chaos we have in our cities, gun wielding and drunk policemen, articulated vehicle plying without control, just name them.

Hello house,
Please I need you people candid opinions too. I am in the same situation with the first writer. I just secured a scholarship to go to Australia to study Renewable Energy Management.
I am currently working with monthly take home of around #240k.
The condition attached to the scholarship is that you must come back to develop your country for at least two years, after that you can be given opportunity to apply for PR or do any other things in Australia.
Please can I take up the scholarship or just forget about it and continue with my work in Nigeria.
It is a tough call bro. As some one that studied abroad, getting a professional job is always difficult. You are competing with the locals.

Forget the people that tells you that it is easy. They have not been abroad before. I have someone that had this your same issue. But his own was in Greece, sponsored by a Greek company in Nigeria.

When the guy came back to Nigeria after the masters , no job. He stayed 13 months before getting something, not that it was in a multinational.

You can not trade your job in Nigeria, especially the one that pays that kind of salary. It may be small but quite huge in Nigeria's standard.

Your sponsor have already given you condition but the Nigeria's renewable energy sector is not developed. Definitely, you can't get job in that space but may be in another area.

How sure that your return back and the PR will be successful in Australia? If you are sure of this last question, give it a trial.

Stupid tribal and ethnic bigots fighting over irrelevant issues. Must you guys ethnicsize every issue?

All these Igbo chest beaters, note that Coscharis doesn't know about your existence. You don't even dare to near that factory if you don't have any dealership business there.

Why insult and curse other ethnic nationality because of one investment? Same with other bigots from other tribes.

Instead of celebrating this kind of thing, we start insulting one another. Can we ever see something from the angle of humanity instead of these ethnic bigotry and stupid rivalry.

I have already concluded that all these bigots are mostly very poor people and job seekers. Those that have made it live above these petty issues and move with folks from other tribe more.

Go to Coscharis head office in Lagos, majority of staff are Yorubas and some of his GMs are Yorubas. He doesn't give a Bleep about your ethnicity and some low life people are here claiming rubbish.

Near that factory claiming Igbo make Mopol no wipe your ass.

This is very common in most European countries.

Young people don't stay in country side any more. Only the old people who later die and the whole community will just be empty. Someone was asking if they are not procreating, that's not the concern of a white man. He or she wants to enjoy his or her life.

President Victor Orban of Hungary wants to start paying couples (married or not) money to start having children and extending maternity leave to 2 years with full pay. His country's population is going down drastically and he has refused to accept migrants into his country.

He said that in as much as he wants his country to be populated, he does not want it to be populated by immigrants, people that he does not share the same value with.

Canadian immigration process is an attempt to populate the vast country. That's why they are doing this there federal skilled immigrant program. For those that wants to leave, please look for this program as a lot of people have benefited and migrated.

TravelRe: 187 Nigerians Return, South Africa Employs Rules To Stop Others by Focusmind: 8:23am On Sep 12, 2019
They will still return. I know a guy, 33 year old, told me that coming back to Nigeria to do what exactly. His business was completely burnt but he still prefer to stay as he still has access to decent meal and accommodation.

He is currently staying with his 19 year old South African girl, who works as a desk officer in a top hotel in J'burg.

He confidently told me that more than half of Nigerians would not return to Nigeria but would rebuild their businesses here. Those returning are just taking advantage of the free evacuation provided by the government to touch home.

His girl friend would raise some capital for him to start afresh somewhere in the city again.

This somehow shows the hopelessness back home. Things are really difficult here and breaking even is even more difficult.

That's why some Nigerians would rather die abroad than return to hopelessness and brick future.

Foreign AffairsRe: Bolton Speaks On Being Sacked As Trump's National Security Adviser by Focusmind: 7:28pm On Sep 10, 2019
You don't offer to resign. You resign immediately once you have made up your mind.

Don't give your employer room to fire you. Once you cock that gun, you must shoot. No amount of pleading from your employer should make you to drop the gun once you have cocked it.

If you eventually drop the gun and agreed with your employer, he would simply pick up the gun later and blast your fucking head.

Trump is a smart guy. The poor Bolton told him he wanted to resign and Trump stylishly said " let's talk about it tomorrow". He stylishly delayed it so that he would fire him

Employers and bosses will always prefer to fire employee than the employee firing the employer.

As a worker or employee, ensure that you are always the one "firing" your employer. Don't ever allow your company to fire you. It would always be a dent on your career.

For your information, when you resign and move on to something else, you have "fired" your employer in your life.

Most noticeable achievement starts from early 30s

I wished this man could be allowed to run Nigeria fully.

Nigeria's system does not allow talented people to perform and the political system doesn't give room for technocrats to seek elective position.

The man started the Agriculture and rice revolution under GEJ before Buhari's government nominated him for the AFDB job.

He should be the APC/PDP consensus candidate in 2023.

He understands development and agricultural economics very well which is the bedrock of development for emerging economies.

Retail banking contribution to overall gross earning is about 29%, an increase of 92% from 2018.

The impact of the merger with Diamond bank, a retail banking leader just made manifest.

The merger strengthened the Access retail banking group and its IT position.

Merger is good for the other party to complete you.

That's why young men and women should select carefully marriage partners that will strengthen their areas of weakness and not just be complaining.

When your partner has strength in your area of weakness and you are good in her area of weakness, both of you will surely succeed.

Do you know why SA can confidently do the sh*t they do, it's because they've seen a country so divided among themselves internally that they can barely stay united and speak with one voice against foreign attacks.
And to think some retards here on nairaland are saying the Nigerians there are just from a particular tribe, shows how low we've gone as a country. As a matter of fact, Nigeria can no longer be called a country if a fellow countryman can say sh*t about his own countryman in the full view of other nationals.
Nigeria will continue to be volatile to foreign attacks in other countries if we continue to be disunited. The world is watching, let the retards, tribalists and olodos take note of that
I am sorry to say this but I have totally lost hope in the unity of this country. The way the country is so divided is so upsetting. Take a cursory look at the comments on Nairaland, you will weep for this country and its future. Any house that is not united is bound to fall before the enemy.

Most countries are aware of this disunity in Nigeria and that's why they are messing up the citizens, knowingly fully well that the country can never be united.

Sadly, the current president is not helping matters in strengthening the bond of unity.

It is only the poor, the weak and the ignorant that I sympathize for and not the youths and the traders that rejected core professionalism and competence and voted for crudity and incompetence.

They should reap what they sowed. Nigerians should know that elections has consequences.

They will never choose wisely, but will rather allow some mundane things like religion, tribe and sentiments to be cloud their sense of reasoning.

We always vote for incompetent people and expect the country to progress.
