....as he technically defeated Boko Haram years ago, but realistically doing something else we don't understand with general insecurity in Nigeria. |
What is the function of the legislature? Is it not to make laws? What has law making got to do with constituency projects? What then is the duty of the Local Government Councils? Illegality taking centre stage in Nigeria. SMH. |
I'll like the Minister of Finance to tell Nigerians how Nigeria will pay back the loans without any negative effect on the future economy of the country. If she does not tell us within a week from today, then the future economy of Nigerian will be hanging in the balance. |
This is what Buhari's group promised before the 2019 election. https://punchng.com/buharis-re-election-will-guarantee-igbo-presidency-in-2023-bso/ https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/303503-apc-wont-hand-over-to-you-obasanjo-tells-igbo-leaders.html |
To the best of my knowledge it is hard to see a current presidential aspirant in Nigeria that is not moved by the intention to steal the commonwealth of Nigeria. But some are mega greedy than others. And the mega greedy ones rub it on our faces and claim to be our leaders. On registration with political parties. I do not think every Nigerian adult needs to register with any political party. It is sufficient to register to vote and vote wisely and not by inducement. |
This is the second time he is wearing an Igbo attire. The first was used to campaign in 2015 for the Igbo votes. |
I don't think Jonathan is a fool to accept a Greek gift from the APC. If he does, I will surely vote against him. |
Do you need a stranger to come and tell you who your mother is? Don't you know your mother? |
This is serious o! Calling the anti-grazing laws of States meant for peaceful coexistence, satanic. So, which law is godly? Is it Buhari's forthcoming grazing routes and grazing reserves law? Some people are brazing in spewing evil, and this can only be because of something or somebody propelling them from behind the curtain. |
Built2last:Unfortunate era in Nigeria's history. Looking forward to reading plenty books and commentaries on this government when they leave office. I know a few commentators, like current political slaves and beneficiaries, will like to twist the facts, but thank God for the internet. |
Inferno loading.... I hope not. |
The result of greed and insatiability. Nigerian politicians who are squandering our comment wealth as well as our 'Shylock' businessmen should learn from this story. |
“It is hereby ordered that claimant/applicant and the defendant/respondent suspend all forms of hostilities forthwith pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.” How is this an order for the Resident Doctors to suspend their strike? Who is hostile here in fact? Doctors? Of course not!!! The hostile ones are the ones that will say there shall be no medical tourism, but they are the same ones spending Nigeria's money abroad for check up. The hostile ones are the one threatening not to pay doctors that sacrifice so much but they (the politicians) receive so much for doing nothing. The hostile ones are the ones that receive humongous allowances running into millions per month while the doctors receive N5000 per month for being in the front line. Sometimes, I feel that the law that used to be blind now looks before swinging the sword. Otherwise, some of the people we have as "elected" leaders should not have been so named "elected" by the courts. |
This is how Lagos State started under Tinubu, and today Lagos is like a bride. Rivers State must also be a beautiful bride. Other states should do the same, so that they will also be beautiful brides. My concern is that generated revenue should be properly utilized for the good of the respective states. |
Easternmind:In spite of the obvious that Buhari's tenure is a disaster to this country, and people are wailing heavily, once election comes and APC doles out N1000 to voters, people will FOOLISHLY vote for the directionless APC, and wail more later. I hope I am wrong. |
AlhajiBitcoin:It would have been constitutionally illegal for OBJ to go for a third term and more, but at the moment, a perpetual term (assuming allowed by the constitution) for OBJ would have been preferable to Buhari, who in my opinion has failed on all the three things he promised us in 2015 - (1) fight and kill corruption; (2) secure the country; and (3) revive the economy. This is my opinion o! |
The courts need to do better. Politicians are rubbishing our judicial systems, and the courts are permitting them. Why imprison a person for a civil act? |
If the note was written by a 400L student of a university, then there is need for him/her to visit his/her English Language lecturer for tutorials, and not to threaten lecturers. |
Omihanifa:True!!! Thank God there is no report of any accident. Obviously drivers were careful. Hope such does not repeat itself? |
Will he be made to account for his stewardship when he is done in 2023? Will has government be audited after 2023? If he is found wanting for wastage, will he still be entitled to pensions from Nigeria? Thinking deeply...... How can someone spend so much to attend a virtual meeting, if there is no ulterior motive? |
Where are we heading to in this country? Constitutionally guaranteed open trial is now a victim of this government. |
Why should the prosecutor determine the persons to attend court and give report to those that can't attend court? |
I wish them the best. May Nigeria's flag be flown and our national anthem sung during medal award periods. |
I don't see any sense in that monorail. |
These supposed legislators play on our intelligence because we the people don't capitalise on the recall process. Otherwise, I don't see reasons why certain legislators in the Senate and the House of Representatives shouldn't be recalled by their constituents. |
When he was fighting for Nigerians as a Senate President, the people of Kwara decided to follow Lai Mohammed. Now their eyes are opened. With Saraki as a Senate President what is happening in the National Assembly, would not have happened. |
These are youths that are no longer foolish. I am waiting for the time when Nigerian youths and voters in general will take off their foolishness and vote for genuinely concerned candidates. I say "foolishness" because anybody that accepts peanuts (e.g. N5,000, a plate of food, a small bag of rice, a branded wrapper, etc ) to vote for the candidate and indeed vote for that candidate thinks that the peanut will sustain him for four years. That person is foolish. He that knows that his political candidate is corrupt and of no good intention, but votes for him/her because of party allegiance is equally foolish. |
psucc:Wike has by his bridges brought some communities that hitherto seemed far from each other closer. Right now you may not know when you've left one community into another as you drive. |
Instead of arresting people who agitate for self governance due to alleged bad governance in Nigeria, is it not better for the government of Nigeria to hear them out and ask people through referendum if they want self-governance? If the agitations are popular, the people in the respective regions will vote for them by referendum, and the Nigerian government will do the needful. But if the people through referendum say they like the current setting, the agitation fails and the agitators will know that they've tried their best, and Nigeria remains as is. Britain did it in Brexit. Czechoslovakia did it. Sudan did it. Why can't Nigeria do it? |
Please what crime has he allegedly committed? I just saw stockpiling of arms on another thread. OK, let's wait for the government. |
Omooba77:True talk. Right now, the people are being used as pawns by those in government. Very soon, the people will realise and their senses will return. People go to ATMs everywhere. Do POS transactions everywhere. Have mobile phones with data everywhere. In fact, card readers work everywhere for elections. But when it is for transmission of results, no enough coverage. Shame!! |
drealbenard:Sounds good to pacify Nigerians but deliberately made to fail. |
