I have just been informed that a university in Lagos State is insisting that all their returning students must pay for Covid test despite the fact that some students have been fully vaccinated, and have their vaccination cards. Please can students confirm if this is true. If it is true, is it right? |
hisexcellency34:See how a failed political party is painting itself like a bride to be taken home by a groom. Let's tell ourselves the truth, APC has failed woefully. If we go for this party of deceit again, we will have ourselves to blame, and that will mean that Nigeria is irredeemable. Today is banditry, from 2023, it could be worse (as a particular group could be strengthened to take the place of bandits). I am not saying that we should go for PDP either. Both APC and PDP are birds of same mother/feather, with members ready to cross and re-cross from PDP to APC to PDP to APC.... If we are ready to take Nigeria out of this slippery slope, let's look elsewhere, not PDP or APC or politicians that have been since 1999 or earlier. |
sarrki:The man in the picture does not look like the Attorney-General/ Commissioner of Justice of Rivers State. |
My humble opinion. As a Nigerian with the capacity to vote and be voted for, Tinubu has a right (subject to meeting all relevant qualifying criteria) to run for president but he should jettison it and take care of his health, and assist to nominate and vote for a worthy candidate. His input may be necessary in an advisory position. |
cybersoldiers:You guys need to stop this Yoruba/Igbo thing. That is what your/our supposed leaders are using to divide you/us while they collectively laugh at your/our stupidity. |
The destiny of this country is in the hands of the youths, who can constitute the voting force come 2023. It is either they use their power rightly, misuse it or abuse it. The present crop of politicians has failed this country - they smell of corruption, ineptitude and incapability! |
If I may ask, why are they visiting Tinubu in London? Is it to wish him quick recovery? Is he sick? Is it to just see his face? Because he had been out of Nigeria for a long time. Is it to pay homage? In which case he determines their political existence. Is it to strategize with him on 2023? In which case he is either interested in becoming president or he is in the process of selecting someone to succeed Buhari. If he is sick, I wish him quick recovery. If it is presidential ambition, I wish him well also but I'll prefer he plays the elder statesman's role rather than go through the rigors of direct governance as a president. If it is to select a person that will contest for president in 2023, I wish he looks at the side of competent youths, and not old incompetent politicians. |
What's happening in Nigeria? Let me go and check outside if this is Nigeria that is supposed to be under democratic rule. I have checked outside o! This is still Nigeria. But democracy is fast fading away. |
"Mr. President see you soon" That is a statement from a lawmaker. Has Tinubu been a president before? Is he the President now? How is he Mr. President? If, Atiku, Saraki, or Peter Obi is addressed as "Mr. President", won't the DSS gear up for an arrest? |
Nigeria belongs to the people. If Twitter has apologized the people of Nigeria need to see the apology. Was the apology in writing? Publish it as it came. Was it oral? Show us the unedited video. |
To what end ![]() |
I spoke a long time ago that the APC wants to use GEJ against himself and his clansmen. I don't see any good in APC's attempt to lure GEJ into APC with a dangling carrot of presidency. At the end of the carrot is a stick which will be used against him. Those who can advise GEJ should add their voices to Wike's voice. For me o! I like GEJ but if he joins APC or attempts to contest as president again, I will VOTE AGAINST HIM!!! |
When a man is drowning, he holds on to any straw for survival. As at the time the AGF said people will be arrested for using Twitter did he consider the Penal Code? When he eventually said people will not be arrested, did he consider the Penal Code? Why is he mentioning Penal Code now? After thought right!! He stumbled on the provision by chance. Please can someone type out the full provision of the Penal Code that makes Twitter seditious? I smell that the interpretation may be different. Meanwhile, the north and south have different criminal laws. If the north prohibits the use of Twitter, the south does not. |
Sedition under the Penal Code? Hmmm! So the south has no similar law? |

I suspect that the one-arm fighter was going to lose this fight, and he did. |
The prosecuting team should proper work, file the charges, get the witnesses and do a thorough work and if found guilty, he should be punished according to the limit prescribed by law. It is not enough to just pronounce punishment. The punishment should actually be carried out if we are serious to reduce this menace. |
chatinent:I did not listen to the speech, and I have not listened to it. So, if he called them terrorist at the UNGA, we should stop using "bandit", but "terrorists" at home. After all, the President has spoken. If IPOB could be called a terrorist organization by the President and characterized as such by the media, the media should stop using "bandits", but "terrorists" from today. Caveat: I have not listened to or read Buhari's speech. |
....as he technically defeated Boko Haram years ago, but realistically doing something else we don't understand with general insecurity in Nigeria. |
What is the function of the legislature? Is it not to make laws? What has law making got to do with constituency projects? What then is the duty of the Local Government Councils? Illegality taking centre stage in Nigeria. SMH. |
I'll like the Minister of Finance to tell Nigerians how Nigeria will pay back the loans without any negative effect on the future economy of the country. If she does not tell us within a week from today, then the future economy of Nigerian will be hanging in the balance. |
This is what Buhari's group promised before the 2019 election. https://punchng.com/buharis-re-election-will-guarantee-igbo-presidency-in-2023-bso/ https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/303503-apc-wont-hand-over-to-you-obasanjo-tells-igbo-leaders.html |
To the best of my knowledge it is hard to see a current presidential aspirant in Nigeria that is not moved by the intention to steal the commonwealth of Nigeria. But some are mega greedy than others. And the mega greedy ones rub it on our faces and claim to be our leaders. On registration with political parties. I do not think every Nigerian adult needs to register with any political party. It is sufficient to register to vote and vote wisely and not by inducement. |
This is the second time he is wearing an Igbo attire. The first was used to campaign in 2015 for the Igbo votes. |
I don't think Jonathan is a fool to accept a Greek gift from the APC. If he does, I will surely vote against him. |
Do you need a stranger to come and tell you who your mother is? Don't you know your mother? |
This is serious o! Calling the anti-grazing laws of States meant for peaceful coexistence, satanic. So, which law is godly? Is it Buhari's forthcoming grazing routes and grazing reserves law? Some people are brazing in spewing evil, and this can only be because of something or somebody propelling them from behind the curtain. |
Built2last:Unfortunate era in Nigeria's history. Looking forward to reading plenty books and commentaries on this government when they leave office. I know a few commentators, like current political slaves and beneficiaries, will like to twist the facts, but thank God for the internet. |
Inferno loading.... I hope not. |
The result of greed and insatiability. Nigerian politicians who are squandering our comment wealth as well as our 'Shylock' businessmen should learn from this story. |
“It is hereby ordered that claimant/applicant and the defendant/respondent suspend all forms of hostilities forthwith pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.” How is this an order for the Resident Doctors to suspend their strike? Who is hostile here in fact? Doctors? Of course not!!! The hostile ones are the ones that will say there shall be no medical tourism, but they are the same ones spending Nigeria's money abroad for check up. The hostile ones are the one threatening not to pay doctors that sacrifice so much but they (the politicians) receive so much for doing nothing. The hostile ones are the ones that receive humongous allowances running into millions per month while the doctors receive N5000 per month for being in the front line. Sometimes, I feel that the law that used to be blind now looks before swinging the sword. Otherwise, some of the people we have as "elected" leaders should not have been so named "elected" by the courts. |
This is how Lagos State started under Tinubu, and today Lagos is like a bride. Rivers State must also be a beautiful bride. Other states should do the same, so that they will also be beautiful brides. My concern is that generated revenue should be properly utilized for the good of the respective states. |
