So because you have only one pair of clothes you'd rather throw them away and walk around naked?
Your analogy doesn't reflect what you're trying to explain.

Nairalandmonika:
As some of u reason is quite stupid. If this is the only life we have will make everyone live carefully and enjoy the short time we have.

Having hope of another life somewhere else is the reason most people can and will want to kill themselves.

Because they believe in another life were they will not die.
Those people who live that way do that because they don't understand what the afterlife entails. It's not a "second life" per se, but rather an aftereffect of the life we live here.

Knowing that there's an afterlife in which you'll have to give account of the life you live here should make you choose to live your best life here.

ProfAmaben:
Atheism is, in the broadest sense, an absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly, atheism is a rejection of the belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.

We don't believe in the afterlife doesn't mean that you shouldn't enjoy the one you have to the fullest. Thoughts of the afterlife only makes you limit this enjoyment with the mindset of another that is non-existent
My question is, to what end is the fullness of the enjoyment if this is the only life there is? Why do we need to enjoy this life after all? And what makes you think the victim here didn't have a certain period of enjoyment before whatever made him take his life came up?

Life is hard, as an atheist, I don't support him because this is the only life we have.
If this is the only life we have, then you have every reason to support his act as an atheist. If this is the only life we have, then what difference does it make when he dies since he will be unconscious forever? Everybody should just commit suicide and go into extinction since this is the only life we have. Don't you think so?

People are going through a lot.

You see people smiling and laughing like everything is good
with them, but you have no idea about the thoughts going
through their minds.

I did appreciate all the advice , especially the advice of sending her back to her house, I never thought of that.

I just discussed that with my wife on phone , that I would want her sister and kids to go back to her house so that she can start getting ready for her kids school online.
But my wife said no , that she is the only sister she has , that she needs her her sister's company until when school resumes they can go back.

I called my sister in-law privately and arviced and promised to add money to her little business if she can convince her sister that she wants to go back, but she turned my offer down and refused .

The only option now is to let the cat out of the bag, But the consequences between the two sisters will be a grave one.
I know my wife , she will never forgive her sister for life . Oh my God!
Forget about the consequences sir. The consequences would be even more dire if you finally give in or she starts telling your wife lies about you making advances when she gets frustrated. Please be smart.

A little tip: Just tell your wife indirectly. Tell her you need her sister and kids to leave, or just her sister. The latter should trigger some thoughts.
Romance › Re: Pls. Help! My Sister Now Fights With Me (What Should I Do?) by Humanoid01(m):
Wow!

There are some things you need to learn here. As weird as this seems, this might be an opportunity for you to get her to come back to her senses.

Don't think about the fact that she slapped you, this isn't about your ego, but her attitude. Also, ignore the fact that she doesn't want to greet or talk to you at all. That was expected, after beating her up and considering her attitude.

Right now, you need to humble yourself and walk up to her, then apologize for laying your hands on her. Tell her that you didn't mean to do that, and you were just surprised about her recent attitude. Please be really sincere. If you are sincere enough, chances are she'll consider your apology and be cool.

From there, you can tackle the issue by having a heart to heart talk with her, ask her questions that you think might have a thing to do with her attitude. Be prepared to hear the worst, and learn to be calm, so your reaction doesn't kick start another outburst of anger.

You didn't get close enough to her, and you were probably being too hard on her, that's one of the reasons she "grew wings" . So now is that opportunity to get really close to her and instill those values you intend for her to have. I don't need to be too explicit for you to know what I mean. Again, please be calm, nor go let your anger make mata worse o.
Family › Re: My Wife Just Told Me She Regrets Marrying Me. What Should I Do? by Humanoid01(m):
She agreed to date you while she was dating someone else due to impatience and greed, what made you think she would want to continue now that she knows he's now doing better? What exactly did you expect? You approached her when you knew she had a boyfriend and even went ahead to propose marriage to her. SMH!

The both of you are getting served what you ordered, did you expect any less? Don't even put the blame on her for what she said, you're both responsible for this. It'll only take a miracle for that love that was once there to be revived, 'cause her regrets alone (especially when she keeps seeing what he does) will make life miserable for you both.

You married a materialistic woman, and it's shocking to know that you didn't see that before now, or perhaps you did and you decided to ignore it, which is even more shocking.

Ironically, most guys' experiences that have been told here are actually ones where they are the victims. It would be very interesting to see the victim in this case narrate his story here lol.

Since you have reached out to him and he ignored you repeatedly, there's nothing more you can do. You can't force him to respond to you, so just let him be for now. The following are possible reasons for his attitude:

1. He wants to know how much you care about him -- he wants to know if you're willing to push hard for him if things go south.

2. He has a girlfriend who knows about your friendship with him, and she doesn't want him to communicate with you

3. He doesn't value you (No malice intended, but it's very possible).

4. You did something that he isn't happy about.

All in all, you just have to move on and hold no grudges. Some humans are like that, you shouldn't allow it have an effect on your general wellbeing.

You must specify. Which one is 'African country'? Which kain business you do wey fetch you 2m? Where did this good samaritan see you to house? Did you approach him or he approached you?

Guy your story is vague and unbelievable abeg.
How would stating the country be of any use in the story? Do you want to go there and carry out a research to verify the story? The main subject here is his ordeal with his friend, and not the country or the details of his business. There's nothing about this piece that makes it difficult to believe, you're just raising unnecessary points.

Please don't let that guy into your home. If you want to help him, do that from afar, don't let him get close to you. The fact that someone seeks forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean that they have changed. It's clear from the way he made that request that he's only putting up a façade.

He will destroy your home at any given opportunity. In case you don't know yet, the reason you had to go through those rough times in his home was for you to know who he truly is, you should have learnt your lesson by now. I'm not saying you shouldn't help him, my point is don't get close to him anymore to the point of cohabiting with him.
Christianity Etc › Re: Aggressive, Violent, Cool, Calm, Which Is The Best Way To Pray As A Christian? by Humanoid01(m): 12:12pm On May 17, 2020
saajus:
Many Christians do things today without knowing the rationale behind it. Prayer is communication. Communication comes with emotions. Sometimes, you cry to express your feelings to your parents. Sometimes, you laugh to do it. Just let your communication be real with your Maker. David did that a lot. He always let God knows how he truly feels.
Most of our aggressive prayers style in this part of the world came from our traditional background. The likes of Prophet Babalola, Osofa are part of those that introduced those styles. "Call the name of Jesus 3x, Holy Ghost 7x, fire 14x, shout like dog hit by a car". As if you are calling someone who has a hearing impairment. No, God is "eleti lu kara bi ajere". To be honest, being aggressive in prayers help you to be more focus. You rarely think of your Amala at home if you are smashing your head at the wall like MFM members. If you are cool in prayers, the chance of many thoughts roaming around your mind is high. Some people have trained their minds properly and being silent in prayers won't affect focus.
Find your style but let the communication be 100% real. Don't put up a fake smile while you are sad. Don't be saying you are strong while you are truly weak. You can be saying positive words as always recommended by our so-called "Papas" just to help your psyche but when it is between you and your God, be real.
You are blessed with Divine knowledge.

Ahh...I know guys that still remain irresponsible after NYSC.

The main issue is not leaving your parents house but leading a responsible and productive life thereafter.

Personally, I think THE AGE OF INDEPENDENCE is the right age to leave your parents house and that includes financial, emotional, mental, physical ,spiritual independence.
If you leave your family care and you cant take care of your food , health, environment, occupation etc or constantly have problems with neighours or security agents thwn I suggest the person stay and learn the parts of thw lectures he missed rather than become a menace to the society.
Person wey sabi something na im you be. Bros, I throway salute for you!
Business › Re: How my landlord became My Tennant. by Humanoid01(m):
Wow!

Some people don't believe that things can go south in their lives anytime, that's one reason they treat the needy with contempt. I'm a strong advocate of the belief that life isn't about what you possess, it's about your character which is expressed in how you treat people irrespective of your status.

If you are poor, be humble. If you are rich, be humble and kind to others. Don't look down on others, don't let pride rid you off of your humanity. If things go wrong, those you helped may not return the favour, but your good deeds and character will surely bear its fruits in due time.

Life is a cycle! The poor can get rich, the rich can get poor. If anyone who treats you and/or others badly starts to reap the consequences, don't mock them. They can repent, learn their lessons and get back on their feet with time and leave you behind. Yes! It's very possible. That's why it isn't good to repay evil with evil.
