The hubby must be a real Niggarr,
But as for me, the woman should quit and relocate to p. H for peace to reign.
15m/12 = 1.25m That's manageable The wife should quit. 42m/12 = 3.5m almost 4 times. It's not rocket science. Sometimes pride has no place in some decisions. |

shekauvsbuhari: Mr.man which law? Executive order is no law. It is just procedural and administrative directive.Directive also is no law. Rivers state like everyother state does not have quarantine law. Wike does not even have power to lockdown a state ab initio. Under de quarantine law of 1920, its only de president that can order a lockdown. And that is why it took involvement of buhari to do it in Lagos, Ogun, kano etc. However if he wants to rely on executive order to order a lockdown, it cannot be treated as if disobedience to a criminal law. If de owner goes to court, River state govt will lose n pay for it. Even de land use act that empower governors over landed properties caannot be invoked in this case. Why is it that you people are clapping for a lawless rascal? Please leave that Peterobi90. He knows he is not making sense but his pride won't let him accept the truth even if it hits him in his over moral head. That's why he's been typing nonsense. If you like quote the whole of Nigerian constitution, he will still tell you that he will support that his brother should be shot to death if found disobeying the lockdown law. |

But the deed has already been done...no need crying over spilled milk! Move on sir Move on sir? Someone bought land, erected a building with money and you are saying he should just move on. Would you move on? |

Peterobi90: The Governor was acting right to protect not just himself but you and myself aswell. By demolishing? It's because this is Nigeria where bullshit happens and people are bullied by those in govt. The owner of the hotel also has a right to be judged by the law according to the constitution. What Wike did is unlawful...simple. No sentiments. It's easy for you to stand as judge and jury and make all this judgemental statements but is it backed by any law? |

Blazebond: All off Una when dey yab wike need brain reorganization, didn't the hotel owners break the rules? Una nor serious at all. So the best punishment is to demolish instead of seal? Isn't Wike's action counterproductive? He has taken away the means of survival for his people. People were employed in that hotel. A normal person will ask that the hotel be sealed. Demolishing is too damn far. |

Briller: My dear, I know that feeling but trust me, don't marry without the buy-in and blessings of your parents. It's gonna be hell.
I wish I knew this when I was about getting married. My dad died many years ago and when I met my husband to be, an uncle tried to delay the process (by genuinely advising that I slow down), all in the name of making inquiries but I dismissed him claiming he wanted to come up with excuses that does not exist because his daughters were way older than me and still unmarried. Mind you, I had just met my husband about 2months and already fixing wedding). Remember the saying that what an adult sees seeing can never be seen by a child who climbs an iroko tree. Never saw he meant well. Long story short, hubby is not a bad person but existing in his family is hell.
You and your finacée have a duty to try and convince your parents, especially your mum on what you feel for each other. Your fiancée has a duty to learn to show her love to make her dismiss whatever stereotype she has. Let her understand that if she accepts your fiancée after this, she would never regret it and will laugh last.
But ensure you don't go ahead without their nod. Good luck. Your case is different. You were already planning wedding after just two months without allowing your Uncle Investigate. That is supposed to be a requirement. My family went to my husband's village to do findings on the family. However, this OP's mum is refusing only because of tribe which is bias. It's her personal issue. Parents are fond of trying to manipulate their children's decisions with the "elder" excuse. It's the OP I blame sha. |
Romance › Re: My Parents Won't Allow Me Marry Outside My Tribe by ImaIma1(f): 7:06pm On May 10, 2020 |
nyzeo: I am 33 and I come from a state from the south south. I met a girl in Lagos 4 years ago who is from the south east and we have been very good friends ever since then.
I have developed very strong affection for her over time and we started dating. We really love each other now and we have have finalized plans to get married anytime between this year and early next year.
The issues now is that my parents are insisting I marry from my state, somebody who speaks the same language. It has caused me to have issues with my mother because she is the orchestra of all this tribal bigotry.
Please lala and house memeber make una advice me abeg. I have found someone who truly complements my life I really sincerely love this lady. Thanks We akwaibom people are usually free minded about marrying outside our tribe. What's your mother's fear? Marriage is not about language o. My brother married Yoruba and they have a great marriage. I will not stop telling this story of my friend whose mother rejected all the ladies from other tribes but wanted her son to marry their exact same tribe. Now she cannot even visit the son freely because she and the wife from the same tribe cannot see eye to eye. Meanwhile, she feels more comfortable in her other son's house and that one married completely outside their region. Don't allow your mum's bias be the basis for your decision abeg. It's not worth it. |

Like I said some days back, cooking has become more of a burden than fun and this lockdown has really been affecting me mentally (reason those hate speech got to me). Well, I think it's time to take a huge break from cooking, food photography and social media. Everything has been overwhelming. As my sub expire tomorrow, local boy is going on temporary leave. Culinary art and food photography is one of the major reason I come online. It's time to focus on poetry and reading.

Mariangeles: I used yam and sweet potatoes.
You can use equal parts of the two or more of one than the other, depending on how sweet you want it. I just fried my chopped onion (I use a good amount of onion) and fresh peppers, put in my washed smoked fish, stirred and allowed it to fry a bit, then I took out the fish, and put in my already washed yams and sweet potatoes cut in small chunks, added water just a little above the yam and potatoes, added salt to taste, stirred and covered to cook. You can add ground crayfish or dried prawns if you want. I did not use in mine because I wanted the flavour simple. Mash up as you want when it has softened.
Note that I did not use seasoning; the sweet potatoes gave it a really sweet taste, so there was no need for it.
It was really really delicious. Oh cool. My porridge is almost ready though. I boiled the yam for a while, then put palm.oil in a pan and fried a combination of lots of onions, a little tatashe and fresh peppers then turned it into the boiling yam. Then added dried fish and cray fish. Mine has vegetables though (hubby likes it with ugu or scent leaves) Thanks |

Just my thought.

bukatyne: Sadly, there is a new trend where wives pick the first name & last name of the husband hyphenated or the first name of the husband as her last name and the kids also adopt same.
The family name phases out after a short while. I have heard about that. Some weeks back a friend was asking me why I didn't do it. He said his wife has her surname with his surname. He was really trying to get me to do same like he had a stake in it somehow. We that we drop our middle names plus the surname. |
Family › Re: Female Child Is More Valuable Than Male Child – Reno Omokri by ImaIma1(f): 3:55pm On May 08, 2020 |
Ezennwa: hmm!
A male child is more important than a female child. In many cultures, a male child is more important than a female child.
A male child will carry the family NAME, and his children will have the same last name.
If a family only has a DAUGHTER, the family name will die out. Also, a son can be an heir APPARENT to the father.
Furthermore, Who is the head of the family? The answer is the father and a father is a male child for the parents.
A male child retains the fathers name. He is the person who will pay the bride price of a woman. I wonder how this all important male child will have the children that will make his father's name live on? Through another male? |
