Every child helps their parents... whether at home while doing chores or cooking, etc. That is basic. We are talking about child labour. It is different.

What I am saying might sound like grammar to you but after you have had children and sent them away to go and hawk on the streets or in the market for you, you can come back and justify this.

You are also typing words on a phone. Aren't you? I have a child and I would rather overwork myself than put my child through this unsafe lifestyle. If the child is kidnapped in the process, the mother will be blamed and will cry the most. Then she would regret her a actions.

Child development is very important but unfortunately people do not value their children enough.

It's better when mother and children hustle together than to give out the children to relatives because the parents can't afford to feed them .

Some of us Nigerians no longer know what it right and wrong. The issues of life have blurred the ability to see right and wrong. You actually see nothing wrong in this. It's ok.

You spoke my mind. Same thing i complained about this morning. Our children are too shielded...too soft . We say we want to give them what we never had. Some parents are wise though. I know someone that just pulled out his kids from British International School. He said he doesn't want them growing up entitled and lily livered. For me, my 18 month old is already running errands in the house and eating fufu...lol

You are wise! A handful of these midweek-attending-ladies do so to send the right vibe to suitors and once marriage happens, true colours start showing forth.

That is why attending service should be the judging parameter. Knowing the lady outside church and looking out for the goods and bads. Some guys will just conclude that she must be a good girl because she is 'churchous'

How can a mother put her child is 'bad hands'. Your so called 'good hands' are good now because they either don't harbour bad thoughts, or they don't have the opportunity to carry them out yet.

This woman stays in her husband's family house for Christ's sake. She could have kept the child with one of the other wives to run some errands or whatever.
The perpetrator may have been the other wife's son or one of the little boys in the family who has access to the child. Could the mother have suspected anything?! After all, the baby was in 'good hands'.

She was molested by her family member! How's that the mother's fault.
Better watch out for your daughter, and stop believing she's in good hands.

Well I cant be there every time for now because I am a working mum. I close early and pick her up from school. Aside school, I carry her around. My neighbour says I am too protective of her. But I prefer to oversee her myself.

The mother may have been careless but she should have got support from family.
