When i applied for my ILR it took exactly 12wks which is the standard.

Well i have never experienced that since i started applying for visas here, max is the standard 12ks duration

Was that pre-covid? These days it takes months. If you get it in 3 months then you are lucky

I helped a friend to apply for his wife's spouse visa extension here last month, she went for biometric appointment on the 11th of August 2021 and visa came out 3wks ago

Go to police station in your city here and get finger print done, used to cost £20 but i'm not sure now. Send to a friend or relative in Nigeria to be taken to CID/police station to get you police report then they will send it back to you.

That is possible depending on the airline, but how is she going to cope with studies and pregnancy then new born baby?

I just received a mail on my Visa Refusal.

The reason for refusal was because company's statement of account does not carry my sponsorship name.

I submitted my Dad's company statement of account and a supporting letter from the bank indicating he his the sole signatory to the account.

I would like to apply for an administrative review. What are the likely supporting evidence i should submit along with it.

Don't waste your time, move the money to your account, get another CAS and reapply. You made a mistake by presenting company's account.

Yes but if you use standard you still get it within a month, i never bothered with their fast track though as i see it as waste of money.

Accept my condolence and may God give you the fortitude to bear the loss. As at today, I can confirm they are still accepting fast track application with £100 postal order. Infact nothing has changed as a lot of applicants were there for fast track and it was business as usual. Same for last week.

@fatima04 i'm not really surprised that they are still doing it unofficially but this is the thing though...they are complaining of backlog of applications and people have been waiting for months but they still find time to process fact track application for extra £100? Nice!

Please I need advise on what to do about my passport…. I already have offer from a school and will be paying deposit soon but my passport will expire next year August and I am confused if to continue using it like that or renew it now before applying for visa so as to avoid any future issue(s) now and especially when I am already in the UK.

Please go ahead with your processes using your old passport. But to avoid having issues when in UK, kindly go for renewal. Your will pay the normal 45k passport fee and additional 5k for " migration". That's what it's called by the immigration officers in passport office. You can start the renewal anytime soon as it might take up to 6-8weeks.
Please I will also like to state that it's better you go to immigration office to confirm the present rules as rules changes and it wouldn't appear as if am giving out false information on this" encyclopedia" called NAIRALAND.

Absolutely no need to apply for passport renewal now and he will not have problem in the UK

Then there is no need hurrying to apply for him now, you can travel first, settle down and register with NHS for pregnancy. Then he can apply while you send him your tenancy agreement, proof of pregnancy AND enough money for him and the baby, so the maintenance money is not just for him, you need to consider the baby on the way.

This is a recent development as you can see many others here with the same letter.

You can still travel to the UK as soon as you get your passport back but you will not be able to pick up your biometric card until they sort out the issue

That is common, a lot of people have experienced that before, it’s not something you should worry about

No they will pay for less than two years depending on when they make the application.

If you do not have your fees, either by personal savings, firm commitment from family/ friends or on scholarship…… please do not test UK universities. Their sponsorship license is more important to them.

Our country man came to the information desk very disturbed and begging not to be sent back to Nigeria because cultist will k*ll him.

He was unable to pay the 50% fees pre- registration and had written to the school to defer his admission for a year (after landing). The school in turn withdrew his admission and sponsorship ( as HEP with a track record) and reported same.

UKVI has cancelled/withdrawn his visa.

Who school help right? If one fails to register for their program, same applies.

If one chooses to be in the category that cannot travel anywhere (even back home), cannot work, cannot rent, always watching your back…. Then by all means.

Also, some schools insist on balance 50% as one payment, no installments. Check before you apply.

In case of other times, Nigeria still remains the better place to get a renewal all year round. I got mine renewed early this month under 24 hours with no drama.

Yes the did has been done and you should not add to it by trying to lie even more or trying to beat the system.

The fake marriage certificate he submitted is saved under his name and biometric, they know its fake because they might have failed to verify it.

So to have rest of mind from now on and for his future application just come out CLEAN, human beings make mistake but the worst is when you made a mistake THEN trying to play around it.

In the UK an offender gets reduced sentence when he/her shows remorse and apologise for wrong doing rather than wasting the court's time dragging the case.

Get married, get marriage certificate and let both of you should write letter to confess about the fake marriage certificate then apologise.

Note though..it doesn't mean that he will be given a visa, its possible they will deny him but the most important thing is that he has nothing more to hide. I have seen people here get a visa even with a ban from other embassies they declared .


Lastly...be careful about who contact you from here trying to help you for a fee.

Honestly this your situation is a precarious one. Solving this issue is a very difficult one. Because as as I know you can only get a divorce from a court, and the court will sure ask for your marriage certificate which is fake here. Send me a message let see if there is any way I can find help for but honestly I am not promising anything

I hate to have to do this as I’m kinda encouraging you to lie, I would advise that you wait till early next year before his application, get him to do ‘divorce’ papers and have it as proof, get married before you leave if you can ( take a lot of wedding photos etc) Please do not come clean to UKVI as that is grounds for getting a travel ban and there’s a chance that this might affect your visa. Again I’m not proud of myself for asking you guys to lie but it’s really the only way seeing that you are pregnant and the relationship is important to you. Please in the future, do not lie in any application.
