Ofcourse he said it. I mean ofcourse he did. Is this not the Nigeria we created? A country of anyhow ness. nocodo: |
I guess we will see about that. Mind you, I am not for any particular political party. I believe they are all the same, a bunch of thieving low lifes. With that said, I believe that power should always reside with the people and they should have the ability to freely and fairly elect whoever leads them. They may be right and They may be wrong but it is important, especially in Nigeria that people have the unhindered right to vote and such votes are not manipulated. APC shouldn't cry wolf, remember they relied on these same tribunals to get them into power in Osun, Imo and another state. So if tribunals were effective then, they sure as hell are effective now. You cant eat your cake and have it. Generally I am happy that as a country we atleast have some semblance of an opposition in the PDP even though I generally dislike the politics of both parties however there is no democracy without a viable opposition even if the opposition has proven in the past to be just as bad as the incumbent (debatable but my opinion). It is a pity our politics is a do or die affair where politicians clinge to elected office at all cost and we have clearly failed to learn from our past mistakes. I wouldn't rush to celebrate, Nigeria's problems are systemic, we the people also account for some of it. Yes we cheer in one leader and boo the other out of office but our problems remain and they continue to affect us all regardless of tribe, religion and political persuasion. Ecstasy154: |
Kindly refrain from casting aspersions on any particular tribe. As I said in my write up we often do that in our day to day lives and I feel it is wrong and uncalled for. PeterUdeme: |
If true, this is the type of stuff that snowballs into a Civil War. Osagyefo98: |
I wont be surprised if Boeing have gotten to the deceased Pilot's colleague. As usual their aim would be to deflect attention away from them and pin it on pilot error, I am not an expert on airplanes but pertinent questions to ask are, Did the deceased fly any other 737? Is it similar to flying the Max version? Was that the first time the deceased flew a Boeing Aircraft ?(cos I know Boeing Cockpit layout is totally different from that of Airbus and Ethiopian Airlines operates both aircraft lines) Does a lack of training on a 737 Max simulator account for a barely 1 year old plane suddenly nose diving 8 mins after take off? It is clear that Boeing has something going on with that aircraft and they'd rather put profit ahead of safety. oluchisimfred: |
Let's be clear on one thing, with the way Nigeria is currently arranged, the SS, SE (the better south as you put it, though I laugh) and NC do not have the numbers to call for and fully actualise the restructuring of Nigeria constitutionally speaking. In the event of this, the only other realistic option is War and I dont think anyone in their right minds would want for a war. I believe Wars should always be a last resort when every other means have failed. For a restructuring to be fully realised a 4th region is needed, the same one I hail from the SW. I say SW because it will be difficult to get the NE or NW to buy into restructuring Nigeria for a variety of reasons some of which I shall touch on later. It is very easy to point fingers as we all do, Yoruba to Igbo to Hausa and vice versa, but the truth is if the Nigerian people really did understand restructuring and what it meant to them on a personal level, I am certain the average man on the streets will support it wholeheartedly. Nigeria is not working and Nigeria will not work as it is currently constituted, it is not a curse, it is the truth. I believe that the only real solution to our collective problems is to either restructure Nigeria to have strong regions and a weak centre or to split Nigeria along it's current geopolitical lines (or something close). You make a valid point about the North's exploding population. It is something that everyone, themselves including, ought to be seriously alarmed at because we are seeing the result of that explosive population growth (from 1930 till present) coupled with a clueless and reckless northern leadership (pre and post independence). This is why poverty and illiteracy is rife in the Northern part of Nigeria compared to the South. I totally agree that it would not only be unfair but it would be unjust for Northern Nigeria (core North) to expect (as they are doing now) the whole country to shoulder the burden that they continue to create. How do we achieve the above, I still think it comes back to and starts with Unity between the SS, SE, SW and some NC states. As much as you can choose to disagree, and you have every right to your point of view hear me out first, keep reading. The Afonjas or the SW, my people, that you take pleasure in deriding (deservedly in some cases, unfair in others) are key to the restructuring of Nigeria as it is constituted. Why do I say this? Because the NW and NE are reluctant and will fight tooth and nail to keep the status quo hence the SS, SE and NC are basically stuck with the SW for this to come to light. I know for certain the average Yoruba will buy into this if they fully understand what it means to their everyday lives but the key challenge here is the SW (Not just the SW, the whole of Nigeria) currently lacks the kind of leaders needed for that to happen. The current crop of SW politicians are beholden to whatever keeps them in power and this applies to all politicians really regardless of party affinity. Politicians are a lying, thieving bunch who will stop at nothing to remain in power. The voices supporting restructuring are usually in the opposition and groups such as Afenifere and a few others usually come across as suspicious (cos they are funded by the opposition party not in power) and dont really have the platform that is needed to sell such an agenda to the people. Traditional Rulers? Forget those ones, same old story, they'll get in bed with whoever butters their bread. And no longer are there social justice warriors or movements concerned with the good of the collective. Hence, the reason why the average Yoruba is dormant pertaining to the issue of restructuring. I can also state with facts (not here, perhaps at another time) that the issue of restructuring has been so politicized that it is difficult to really identify who cares and who doesn't care about restructuring. When one political party is in power, the other cries restructuring and vice versa it's been like this since 1999. But pay a close attention to voting patterns since 1999 and you will see that Yorubas are actually flexible in their voting which means unlike just about any other region in the country, they can be persuaded to see the light on a matter such as restructuring but then again leadership. But then again, let me also add that I think (I could be wrong) the voices from the SS and SE clamouring for restructuring became loudest just around the time GEJ lost his reelection bid. I am not saying these voices were not there before now, I am saying the tone became deafening. Now does that look suspect, I guess so. Will these same voices go mute if say PDP were to take back power and not do a darn thing about restructuring, I guess so again. So again we are exactly where we were before with nothing being done. This is because the real opposition to restructuring Nigeria are OUR Political elite across BOTH mainstream political parties (PDP and APC) and they are all being manipulated by Core Northern Elements who are afraid of what may come should Nigeria be rearranged. Now, it is easy to take the action of a handful of people and ascribe it to a general populace, I get that, it's called convenient assumption. So it's easy to say all Yorubas are Awolowo's people, betrayers, skull miners and all that, all Hausa people are Almanjiris, I get that I really do. But I think this is wrong and inaccurate. Not everyone fits into these broad categories above and this just continues to fit into the narrative that is used to divide the unity needed to achieve restructuring. And there are alot of people who are not Nairalanders or on Twitterverse and so on. I have travelled across Nigeria, 30 states across all of its regions, I have made friends with people across tribes and I can tell you confidently that there are beautiful people everywhere and there are useless people everywhere. Calling each other names and championing ethnic causes (this is not saying love another person at your expense) will only further divide us than unite us and if you really do desire restructuring above anything else, then you'll just have to block out the noise, resist the urge to do the convenient and focus on spreading the real message. Blessings! oilPUSSY: |

This means he is getting involved with Kano elections. Take any politician seriously at your own peril. They all play to win, losing is not in their DNA especially Nigerian so-called Politicians. Ikeboboafri: |
I hope those figures are genuine and I hope what you have said is true really cos we both know APC (or any incumbent party for that matter, cos the real problem here isn't APC it's the system we have) will stop at nothing to scuttle this process in court. If all you have said checks out then by all means I would love to see PDP win through the courts. It will atleast show our judicial system can still function and ultimately it will remind our classless politicians that indeed power does belong to the people. I really hope the truth prevails in this matter. Ratello: |
See as the nigga be like demon, hehehehehe. Na weed mixed with syrup mixed with whatever else. Funny a** dude. grandiose4ever: |
Was about saying same and look I get the babe. Some ladies feel it is at that point of asking out they can test a guy, others will agree to go out with you while keeping an eye on you. I think the latter is more mature and realistic. I dont think any babe is really going to know the guy she intends dating at the point when the dude is asking her out. Knowing someone takes time, married couple of 50 years will still tell you they are getting to know one another, it never stops. ecstasy357: |

God bless you my brother for this insightful comments. Chinese restaurants are not even high end restaurants in any country I've been to. Well, as far as its Nigeria anything goes. MARSONE: |
Inoki in Yoruba means Gorilla, from your reply no surprises at all. inoki247: |
I expect the Journalist to work for his/her money and do some investigative journalism. Its does not stop qt what is the restaurant name, who owns the restaurant? I wont be surprised if they have a Nigerian on their board or management team, there are numerous stories of racist businesses operating in Nigeria only for you to find out that they have Nigerians on their board of directors or a Nigerian or group of Nigerians brought them into the country in the first place. It is only in Nigeria that such BS will be allowed to happen and really i do not fault the owner of the restaurant, why should I, when they can read and see how our own government treats us or how we treat ourselves, it's not so far fetched to expect them to behave this way. And it should not be enough that such restaurant was exposed, Nigerians should desist from patronising them and their licence should be pulled so they no longer are able to operate. Somewhere within our labour laws or any relevant laws, it should be stated in absolute clearly that if you as a business exhibits racist tendencies the govt can shut you down, this will bring all of these bastards under check. ikorodureporta: |
Childish postulations or otherwise it is clear you belong to one of the category of people I described below. I guess time will tell if I am right or if you are but I wont be surprised if you come spin it another way should APC decide (not to my surprise) to zone the presidency still to the North. schoolboij: |
Hi, can I holla at you? amiibaby: |
GUYS! GUYS!! GUYS!!! I predicted this I swear I did. The Northern elements (the CPC core) of this APC will Bleep Tinubu so bad he will beg for Vaseline. I have said this before and I'll continue to say it, these Northern elements have no intention of ceding power in any rotational arrangement whatsoever to the South West. It will be Awolowo siding with the North over again. History always always always has a very funny way of repeating itself. I am Yoruba and I have always believed that Southerners should stand with one another. The Average Southerner (I mean the average man on the streets) thinks totally different from the average Northerner (the core north). Look it's high time we look at Nigeria and tell ourselves, it is not working and it will never work as is currently constituted. Either we go back to stronger regions or we split this f**king joke of a country. Tinubu does not have sympathies neither did Awolowo. They allow their selfish interests to dictate to them and the result is as we are seeing. The Northern Elite have always been a treacherous bunch and look it doesn't even matter if they still cede the presidency to SW in 2023, they'll simply look for other ways to undermine whoever is President. For all our differences in Southern Nigeria, I dont think you would see this kind of lust to clinge to power at all cost, I dont think so honestly. If the useless SW politicians had any foresight it would be to align with the SS, SE and some NC states into either restructuring Nigeria or breaking it up. Nigeria will never work as it is currently constituted. It is not a curse, it is the truth. The only people that will opine differently are those who benefit from the current arrangement and seek it to continue or those who are clearly ignorant and have been sold lies by the current and even past govts. No surprises here guys, it's just history repeating itself and no sympathy to anyone who thinks cos we hail from the same region then I must support your interests when they do not benefit the vast majority of people even from our same region. ijustdey: |
Honestly I like the way u give advice to both parties. Let's see sha maybe Tinubu go dey do single term for all Lagos State Govs till people become fed up and vote for other viable candidates. NobleAngell: |
Tinubu has a different opinion about Buhari as was detailed in the recently l(a couple years back) eaked CIA documents on Wikileaks. He is only backing him for his own political gain. Now as much as I get that because it's all fair in love and war and politics isn't much different (or is it argument for another day), however I believe this is a weak move. Whatever arrangement they have post 2023 , it is then Tinubu will truly come to know how treacherous the Northern Elite are. If Tinubu and his cohort have any balls, he should be aligning himself with the SS, SE and NC in order to establish a totally different power structure than the convenient (for the north mostly) North + SW arrangement they have. Nigeria as it is presently constituted holds zero promise, it simply has not worked and it simply will not work. If we cannot split and go our separate ways at the very least we can go back to having stronger regions and a weak centre. Awolowo for all of his greatness (depending on who you ask) made that mistake by siding with North leading into the Civil war and yes we as a country may have had our issues before then but that was a pivotal moment that could have had better outcomes should he have chosen otherwise. Tinubu and his foot soldiers are making the exact same mistake and by choosing to align themselves with the north for political gain they only intend to continue what has been with no positives being offered whatsoever. It is sad but it is true and it is only stupid people who cant tell their left from their right that go about making noise without really understanding what is going on. oilPUSSY: |
I know you are better than this really. Choosing to participate in ethnic baiting (for whatever reason) means you basically are lowering yourself to the level of most of the folks on here. I believe there is a way to always pass your points across without having to resort to who is greater and who is not, who is this and who is that. Anyway, saw your profile and wouldn't mind hitting that. Would you assist a brother? ![]() oilPUSSY: |
the blogger is a stupid and racist godforsaken human being. Do you know how many near misses (which are as good as accidents) that this plane has had? That it happened in 3rd world does not mean it could not have happened anywhere. There have been several air mishaps on planes flown by so-called first world citizens and even operated by these countries. It is obvious there is something fundamentally wrong with that plane. Maybe not every single one that they built, could be just a couple. TheAlchemist: |
I thank God you have the insight to have said this really. As much as I wanted Saraki gone (just as I want Tinubu gone too and so called godfathers everywhere) the truth is their successors never seem to learn from history, they are often bound to repeat the same mistakes and I think it is because the people let them. See it's pretty much like you doing something you know is wrong and say to hell with it and keep doing it till you are caught. The truth is the Nigerian people must hold leaders accountable, not just at the ballot but in anyway they can. Until this happens, this cycle will continue to be. It is that simple really. daddytime: |
The most shittiest post I have read in a while. Sounds like something that Jose Mourinho's ass could have typed. LuciferPastor: |
Brother, e be like say me and you dey look the same crystal ball. I was still saying this to a few people some days ago. This is the plan for real come 2023. Osinbajo will be presented by the SWestern APC arm and the Northern Caucus (loyal to Buhari) will put forward ElRufai. Now if that day ever should come, it is then Nigerians will come to understand that Vice Presidents can actually be powerful cos I can assure you that this country will in some regard be run still by the Northern Elite through El Rufai. It is actually why Osinbajo has been swallowing the insults (not like I care, in my opinion he has no business in politics if he truly cares about his Pastorship). Will Osinbajo be a good president? Carriage wise and every other, sure why not. Will he be an effective president? My brother, with the way Nigeria is setup, I fear even Jesus and Muhammed would not be able to effectively do anything. Osinbajo is a Constitutional Law Professor i believe, if he wants to be effective, if he really wants to leave Nigeria in a better shape than when he gets there then they'll have to start from overhauling that complete joke of a 1999 constitution. Then proceed by laying down the framework for governmental agencies to be effective at their tasks. Then selecting the right people to head these agencies and simply be driven by excellence and a passion to succeed. If they can tackle key infrastructure while reducing the attendant corruption and corrupt process that comes with it, no doubt Nigerians will support them. But if they come with that sectional mindset and allow godfathers to continue to dictate then I guess they will be dead on arrival. Bobby4090: |
It's TRUE but it's not a stigma nor a death sentence, let's not try to make it into such. Sultty: |
This tactic wont last forever unfortunately. Tinubu's end is near and I pray it happens in his very own eyes whilst alive. Chubhie: |
Honestly I believe this should happen in Lagos. Now I am not naive enough to believe that the alternative will be much better, what you will have will be minimally incremental changes however it is important to note that godfatherism in Nigerian politics has wreaked alot of havoc. Yes there are and will always be godfathers everywhere but to the extent that we have witnessed in a state such as Lagos, it really has to stop. I admire Tinubu for certain qualities but overall I believe Lagosians will be better off without him. And I hope Nigerians everywhere else will not go to sleep but will resist godfathers everywhere.
