Horus: Firm begins construction of 30-floor luxury residences
12 November 2023
Messrs Tetramanor Limited has begun the construction of a 30-floor residential building in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos, which will increase housing provision. The ambitious project known as TM HighGardens consists of 82-units luxury apartments in one, two, three bedrooms, four, five-bedroom maisonette and penthouse. The tower is one of the most iconic buildings in Eko Atlantic City due to the façade and one of the tallest buildings in the country.
Specifically, the edifice located in the Harbour Lights district of the Eko Atlantic city, having views of the Marina, port and waterways, will offer amenities such as high-speed elevators, office space, 24-hours security, CCTV/backup power transformer, bar and lounge, gym/salon, super-fast Fibre optics connectivity, elevated pool and garden/playground and others.
The project has a four years’ timeline for delivery with construction starting in 2023; it will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027. Speaking at the commencement of piling works for the project, the Project Engineer for TM HighGardens, Mr. Chibuike Ikpa, said the pilling work is expected to cover three months, and provide the expected solid foundation for a project of such magnitude. Ikpa said all would-be subscribers would be given value for their investment.
The Main contractor for the project, Mr. Wael Mansour, said the project will boast condominiums and penthouses with standard facilities and amenities, two underground basements that will act as parking floors. He reiterated that the project would offer entertainment areas. Mansour said the project would also provide a mini village, which is self-sustained and will be 125 metres high. “It is a state-of-the-art building in terms of design, structural, architecture, mechanical and electrical standards.
“There will be safety and hazard codes included in the buildup components and as required in Eko Atlantic. It will be a face value for the city. ” Mansour, who doubles as the Director, Almansour Engineering & Contracting Limited (ALM), said about 144 piles of 30 metre length each and one metre diameter are planned for the project.
“This will sustain the building in terms of wind factor in Lagos area, which is large. We have taken all the measurements and studies in terms of geo-technical engineering, carried out a lot of tests including soil tests. The quality of construction will be of the highest and non-negotiable standard of concrete strength whether is underground or over-ground.
“The steel reinforcement and concrete are tested in intervals. We will deploy post-tension technology used mostly in high-rise towers with multinational companies giving us guarantee and warranty for the products and designs. The high level of construction will not be compromised by any factor or regulations,” he said.
Bakin3: The system is called Bio Digester Toilet. It's an improved technology in the treatment and management of human waste and wastewater. This system effectively takes away all challenges that are associated with the conventional form of waste management.
Once you have it in place,
✔you no longer call trucks to come evacuate human waste,
✔it doesn't smell
✔it doesn't attract flies or crokroaches,
✔just a small space is needed for it,
✔it's eco-friendly
✔and doesn't contaminate the groundwater
The advantages of Bio Digester toilet are as follows: No Dislodging of Human Waste Cooking Gas can be generated from it It's eco-friendly No foul smell Needs only a small space Suitable for any soil condition No contamination of groundwater etc
Cousin9999: Their style, mostly for single family homes, is really interesting to me. It's similar to other Caribbean architecture, and African, but it seems to have a distinct style. It's like an African-Dutch-Spanish vibe. And mind you, I don't even really care about single family homes (I have no interest in owning one).
The style is the same whether it's a mansion or a small countryside house.
I haven't seen a building cost quote that I believe yet. But I suspect it costs 30k - 70k USD to build. And I think that price could allow up to a 2-story, 5-bedroom home.
Bump. The Guyanese house design "smells" of a distinct aroma.
Two 🇷🇺 Russian Su-27 fighter jets shot at and struck the propeller of a 🇺🇸 U.S. military "Reaper" surveillance drone on Tuesday, causing it to crash into the Black Sea in an incident condemned as "reckless' by the U.S. military.
"Our MQ-9 aircraft was conducting routine operations in international airspace when it was intercepted and hit by a Russian aircraft, resulting in a crash and complete loss of the MQ-9," U.S. Air Force General James Hecker, who overseas the U.S. Air Force in the region, said in a statement.
“Two Russian Su-27 aircraft conducted an unsafe and unprofessional intercept with a U.S. Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance unmanned MQ-9 aircraft that was operating within international airspace over the Black Sea today.
At approximately 7:03 AM (CET), one of the Russian Su-27 aircraft struck the propeller of the MQ-9, causing U.S. forces to have to bring the MQ-9 down in international waters. Several times before the collision, the Su-27s dumped fuel on and flew in front of the MQ-9 in a reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner.
This incident demonstrates a lack of competence in addition to being unsafe and unprofessional.
rottennaija: US elite meltdown over Tucker Carlson’s Russia trip.
Since it became known about the arrival of former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson in Russia for an alleged interview with President Putin, the American elite has not stopped expressing their outrage on social networks. One suggested blocking Tucker's entry back to the United States, and another is building conspiracy theories about the American journalist's ties to the Russian government.
Why is the American elite burning with rage? Why are they afraid of the truth?🤔
Dandal: Channel 12 reports that today was Ben Gurion Airport’s busiest day since October 7.
Some 30,000 people are departing from Israel’s main travel hub today, as more people are released from reserve duty, more airlines resume operations to the country and prices tick down.
koning: Large international carriers- KLM, Delta, Lufthansa, Emirates etc will NOT land there. International travelers will still go to MMA, ikeja.
He should not waste scarce public funds on that.
Get rich, private sector Nigerians to build it. It will only serve to private jets and helicopters. It's solely for local air travel.
It's gonna be a Lagos State and private sector-led aviation initiative.
The name of the airport is appropriately termed Lekki-Epe International Airport and it's meant to complement the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, in the area of international flights.
The last administration under the Aviation Minister had already approved the airport to commence international flights as soon as the construction is complete. It's been majorly the Lagos (MMIA) and Abuja International Airports that have officially received international flights prior to now. If nearly all international airlines fly directly into Nigerian airports located in the various states, then the local airlines would operate at a massive loss and run out of business.
The Lekki-Epe International Airport can accommodate 350 aircraft at once and will handle over 5 million passengers annually with room for further expansion on the massive 3,500 hectares of land already taken from the Epe and Lekki Peninsula indigenes, hence the name of the airport is Lekki-Epe International Airport, Lagos. Completion of the project will take 2 years max.
Ibrahimcoomasie: The Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the plan to build a state-owned airport to drive infrastructural development.
The newest Accra Airport (Kotoka Airport) and Tamale Airport both in Ghana, Dakar Airport in Senegal and the Uyo Airport in Akwa Ibom are some of the modern architectural masterpieces on the Africa continent. Lagos State must ensure that the Lekki-Epe International Airport beats these 3 West African airports in terms of world-class design, beauty and functionality.
Anything less than this very modern standard would be unforgivable!
Officialgarri: So I decided to go through my accumulated Nairaland Likes and Shares and boom, I bumped into a post I made in 2020 on a particular thread.
Yemen's AnsarAlla threatens to cut fibre optic cable in the Red Sea and the region, Azernews reports, citing foreign media.
This will happen if the US and UK strike Yemen's airports again.
Internet cables serve as communication channels between Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Taking them out of service would disrupt international lines of communication and hit global financial markets.
On December 24th, 2023, a Telegram channel linked to the Husis published a map showing the networks of submarine communications cables in the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Persian Gulf. The image was accompanied by an ominous message: “There are maps of international cables connecting all regions of the world through the sea. It seems that Yemen is in a strategic location, as internet lines that connect entire continents — not only countries—pass near it.”
The recent hike in the prices of eggs and other poultry products in Kano State has generated a serious public concern, especially when the Muslim fasting period is fast approaching. Eggs are usually in high demand during the fasting period.
It was gathered that one egg new sells at N130 while a crate is N3,100. It was also revealed that despite the increase, eggs are gradually becoming scarce in the state metropolis, and that has raised a serious concern from the public as other poultry products are getting out of the reach of the common citizen.
According to a resident, Abubakar Abdulsamad, egg scarcity is a perennial issue that usually occurs in periods like this when Ramadan fasting is setting in. He explained that the hike in price and scarcity of poultry products is connected to heavy hoarding by merchants. He added that the little eggs being produced by the few poultry farmers in the state are now hoarded by some merchants bent on making huge profits during the Ramadan.

In a significant move aimed at improving Nigeria’s defence capabilities, the United States Department of Defence has confirmed the sale of arms valued at $1 billion to Nigeria.
According to a statement issued by the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency, the deal includes the procurement of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, as well as 32 mission computers from Northrop Grumman. The acquisition of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters will enhance Nigeria’s ability to conduct precision strikes and undertake rapid response operations for the country’s overall security and stability.
The statement added that the strategic move is expected to bolster Nigeria’s ability to respond to security challenges and strengthen its overall defence posture.
Nigeria’s complex security challenges have displaced millions and claimed countless lives, making the purchase of the helicopter, scheduled for completion in June 2024, a significant upgrade to the country’s military assets.
The sale follows the US State Department’s approval in April 2022 of Nigeria’s request for the helicopters, which includes guidance systems, night vision imaging systems, and extensive training.
Shipmate: Where to Get Alkaline Water in Nigeria: Your Ultimate Guide
As the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle gains momentum, the significance of alkaline water in Nigeria cannot be overstated. With its array of health benefits, including anti-aging properties, colon-cleansing benefits, immune system support, hydration enhancement, improved skin health, weight loss assistance, resistance to certain cancers, and other detoxifying properties, alkaline water has become a wellness trend worth exploring.
Understanding the Detoxifying Power of Alkaline Water:
The human body accumulates acid wastes from various sources, such as animal proteins, stress, and toxic emotions. These acid wastes can lead to constipation, sluggish circulation, and overall dehydration. The liver, a vital organ in the detoxification process, functions optimally in an alkaline environment. Alkaline water aids in maintaining a balanced pH level, supporting the liver's ability to detoxify acids efficiently. This process becomes hindered when the body remains chronically acidic, leading to a cascade of health challenges.
Indeed, all other types of water being acidic compound the challenges that the body may already be faced with. In next week Thursday’s edition of The Guardian Newspaper, specific diseases that alkaline water has effectively been shown to enhance treatment with supplements and diet will be showcased.
How Alkaline Water Works:
Alkaline water, with a pH level higher than neutral tap water, is believed to provide numerous health benefits. This ionized water is thought to aid in neutralizing acidity in the body. The pH level of normal tap water is 7, which is neutral. Alkaline water typically has a pH level of about 8 or 9. It is believed that alkaline water helps people with excess acidity as it helps neutralize the acid in the body, thanks to its alkaline nature.
There are ways to increase the alkaline properties of water, such as using special filters, faucet attachments, and additives that raise the pH levels, transforming normal tap water from a neutral pH to alkaline.

PAQ: A shit box is a car of poor quality & standard. Toyotas are not Luxury cars and they dont claim to be, they have their Lexus brand for that, which is at par with Luxury brands. There is a reason why they are popular, sell so well and maintain very high resale values even more than luxury cars. You think Americans love a vehicle because the name sounds sweet? They cover the highest mileage on road with their vehicles, they know their cars, just like they know their guns. They are Toyotas biggest market and have their largest factories. The Corolla is the highest selling vehicle ever.... Their popularity is for a reason; affordability & reliability. They are not meant to be liked by all, but haba even KIA & Hyundai of today cant be called shitboxes if you know the innovations and technologies they have brought into the autonomous world.
Every car manufacturer has issues & recalls, but Toyota has amongst the least, Mazda has been on the lead for the last two years for most reliable car brand. Todays cars are way more reliable across board than cars made 20yrs ago. And i am sure the bad experiences you heard of are not cars made of recent. Respect bro...
One of the so-called Alaba International market billionaire criminal hard drug barons (who falsely claim to be legit Alaba International billionaire traders) was arrested recently by the NDLEA and other security agencies in major sting operations for using his Victoria Garden City mansion where he lived with his family for methamphetamine (ice or mkpurumiri) production. The drugs are then pushed out and sold within Lekki/Ajah axis and exported through the international airports by the drug mules of the drug barons.
Another drug baron from the same Alaba International was arrested in VGC again. Many of these fake and criminal millionaire drug barons have been making methamphetamine in mini laboratories and operating with imported South American drug cartels according to the NDLEA within their houses in housing estates such Ajao Estate, Satellite Town, Festac Town, VGC, Iba New Site, etc, for over 20 years in Lagos and the entire South East in places such as Asaba, Nnewi, Ozubulu, Obosi, Owerri while falsely claiming to be genuine traders and importers.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, illegally lodged billions of naira in no fewer than 593 bank accounts in the United States, United Kingdom, and China without the approval of the apex bank’s board of directors and the CBN Investment Committee.
The Special Investigator on the CBN and Related Entities, Jim Obaze, found that the ex-CBN governor lodged £543, 482,213 in fixed deposits in UK banks alone without authorisation.
When contacted, counsel for Emefiele, Mathew Bukkaa, SAN, asked one of our correspondents to send him a text message. He has yet to reply to the message as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, Obaze submitted his final report tagged, ‘Report of the Special Investigation on CBN and Related Entities (Chargeable offences) to President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
The report partly read, “The former governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele invested Nigeria’s money without authorization in 593 foreign bank accounts in United States, China and United Kingdom, while he was in charge.
“All the accounts where the billions were lodged have all been traced by the investigator.”
In a letter dated July 28, 2023, sighted by The PUNCH, President Bola Tinubu had named a former Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Obazee, as the CBN special investigator
Emefiele, who is currently in Kuje Custodial Centre, is being prosecuted for N1.2 billion procurement fraud.
Hedonisco: There's a very little chance of settling into a happy family life in that axis of evil called Lekki/Ajah. Chances of negative influence are super high, for both men and women. There's almost a limitless flow of illicit money there, fuelling a decadent, drug-infested lifestyle.
Yet the money no dey run out. I don't understand what these guys do or how they keep the cash tap running, even though they're always high on coke, loud, molly and some other shit. Surely can't be ordinary 'yahoo' or drug dealing.

My Biggest Regret Is Pushing My Husband To Move Us From Mainland To Lagos Island After Change In Financial Status - Woman
She claims her husband changed his lifestyle after they changed location and he met new friends, started clubbing, always eating out, raising his voice at her now, takes drugs, sleeping in hotels for days, etc.
What advice do you have for her?
This ignorant woman and other people should STOP making misleading comments online.
NOTE: Lekki is NOT an Island!
Lekki Phases 1 and 2 are located on Lekki Peninsula NOT "Lagos Island" as suggested in the video title. The entire Lekki Peninsula is NEARLY surrounded by water but NOT completely, however, an island such as Lagos Island is COMPLETELY surrounded by water!
The entire land mass called Lekki Peninsula got it's name from the Ijebu town in Ibeju-Lekki LGA called Lekki town. The area called Lekki Phase 1 and even Victoria Island Extension were parts of the slum called Old Maroko that was demolished in 1989 by Lagos Military Administrator Raji Rasaki. The Old Maroko land was then reclaimed and sold out for modernization.
mariahAngel: Hahahahaha I remember him instantly killing the excitement for me on that thread, after reading through.
I can't cook for someone like sukkot o, because there's no telling what I might do if he dares to criticize my food.
I hope he does not (will not) give his wife too much wahala sha.
@mariahAngel,
Even without ever tasting your foods, from the uploaded pictures of the delicacies you've been cooking over the last few years, it seems to me you're indeed a very good cook, and you're already monetizing what you do as well. Once I sense a tinge of chicken seasoning cubes, bay leaves, and thyme in my food, I'm good to go!
So, my friend @Sukkot would def like most of your colorful meals and pastries as well.
sukkot: wow bro you are the king of research. That review was spot on. And the guy got the same thing. I noticed back then it was like 2 thousand plus. Now the syrup is in that little silver cup if you look closely
Whoa! Sukkot, how's your week going?
Indeed, it was 2,000 plus back in 2018. I like looking out for some online customer reviews before ordering for things or visiting physical eateries and more... and this strategy has always helped me to avoid getting poor service delivery and save cost!
Yes! I later spotted it and have updated my original post to you. Just a quick question below.
Was it maple syrup that you got OR some other syrup substitute like honey?
Nice your topic made it to the FP. A lot of folks are giving fantastic feedback here on cost savings and more.
Beverlyjean: Dint u see the syrup topping in that metal container near the meal??
Indeed, I didn't notice initially that the metal container was used for the syrup. It seemed initially to me like some of the Fanta in the plastic bottle was poured into the metal container... But I later realized it was the syrup container and now you've also emphasized it.
I was expecting the use of a translucent or transparent plastic syrup cup (like the one attached below) in my head initially because that's what I've been used to. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Incidentally, most of the average Iranians on the street level don't want Iran to get involved in these external military and geopolitical situations their Shiate cleric ruling class are dabbling into such as the involvement with the Israeli-Hamas War.

tfelicityk: It is very very annoying when governors of state will be waiting for the presidency to come and tackle the insecurities in their respective states for them.
They are quick to use the political word - "I am th noe Chief Security of my State". They should exercise the power on the non actors disturbing the peace and harmony of their state.
They should inert it to their respective state laws. Any person caught with this crime - kidnapping, terrorism, banditry and other vices of crimes should be prosecuted and killed if found guilty by the laws.
It seems they are afraid to do that...
True that.
You're the only one who has made a lot of sense here on this thread so far. Enough of the relentless calling out of the President of Nigeria for every case of localized insecurity. It's really annoying reading misleading posts by trolls or ill-informed people here.
What Tinubu and his team of legislatures have to do right now is simply to further decentralize governance, so that severe capital punishments can be inflicted on these criminal elements.
State Govenors in the U.S. don't call on President Joe Biden to come and solved every vicious localized crimes for them. They only collaborate in sharing critical info with Federal security agencies.
The states can then deploy surveillance and attack drones, advance satellite tracking systems, and forensic science for preventing crimes and solving already existing crimes. All security worldwide in localized. Period.
