my dear bros and sisters. I will be obliged to say that osisis posts of copy and paste is actually right and within the confines of islam. Olabs analysis is also right acoording to some scholars and this is one of the issues we have ikhtilaf (differences of opinion) in islam and it has to be respected. Imam Malik, Abu hanifa all accepted the triple talaq and this is well known in fiqh without any iota of doubt. Imam ibn Tayminiya Shaikhul islam may Allah be merciful to him was the first scholar to disregard this ruling and legislated that 3 talaqs in a go is still one. This was among many other issues the imam oppossed in his time and his fellow scholars rejected some and accepted some, the imam was an hambalite but was kicked out of the hamabli school when he questioned some of the rulings of the school. I personally hold on to the opinion of the imam ibn taymiyyah my beloved Sheikh on this matter and although i am more of Maliki i feel his position on this matter is strongest and most valid. However @ Olabowale Egbon i will advise we respect the rulings of the 3 schools on triple talaq and not oppose it or condemn it as that was their understnding and understanding of the muslims up until 600 odd years imam ibn taymiyyah came with his opinion on the matter. We cannot condemn the great scholars who accepted the rulings like an nawawi and co. Their ruling is also based on the understanding of that verse of the quran. The northerners that practise it is not out of culture or tradfition but out of well grounded ruling in islamic fiqh. I am a student of fiqh and have studied other fiqhs apart from Maliki which i am and the more you studdy the more you appreciate and respect the works of the early scholars. In hanafi and maliki fiqh till date triple talaq although discouraged and frowned at when said it equates to 3 talaqs. Wallahu a'lam |
Does anyone in the UK knows which station i could watch the game on Will it be shown on AIT international? |
Aloy.Emeka:Honestly i did not check the records and it could well probably happen there as well. I just know it is prevalent in the south west. From the principles of islam , the permanent imam needs to be knowledgable to an extent and that might include graduating from a teacher or clerical school of some sort. The appointment depends on the setting of the mosque and some individuals build mosques and appoint the imam themselves while some mosques have councils that appoint the imam. The bottomline however is , whoever is appointed should be on the basis of knowledge, amdinistrative skillls, man mangement and good communication skills. It should not be on the basis of race or clan but it will be preferable to appoint an imam that speaks the language of his congregation and understands their culture a great deal. |
Like i will always say intelligence is damn expensive , may God grant us all deep and quality intelligence. |
I just discovered this myself today as i tried to read it online. I must say it is ridiculous, how many newspaper site have pay to read. Newspapers are competing for hits on their sites and punch is shooting itself in the foot by wanting to charge the news we can get on other papers as it is all the same news anyway recycled with various words. |
Lets ignore the shallow intellect of some contributors here. @Aloy emeka it is quite unfortunate that this kind of thing is still common with yorubas in the south west especially. The position of the imam is not sumthin that should be fought over and from the story it appears the Alhaji oluwakemi is the evil hand behind the crisis. It is indeed shameful and and unfortunate for the crisis to have degenreaed into using thugs to harass fellow muslims. The action is very wrong and should be condemened and that guy be brought to order and justice. |
"Inna ladhina kafaru min ahli kitabi wal mushrikina fi naari jahanam khalidina fihaaa abada . . . . . . . , " There are various hadiths in the sahihain that butress the meaning of this ayah as well. |

C-NOETIC:Very false ambigous statement , lets analyse your question and further expose your falsheood why should a man have the right to beat a woman? (quran 4:24)"Also (prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess: Thus hath God ordained (prohibitions) against you: Except for these, all others are lawful, provided ye seek (them in marriage) with gifts from your property,- desiring chastity, not lust, seeing that ye derive benefit from them, give them their dowers (at least) as prescribed; but if, after a dower is prescribed , agree mutually (to vary it), there is no blame on you, and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise" Q4 v 24 The verse you quoted has nothing to do with beating of women. why would a disobidient woman go to hell? (koran 66:10)"God sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut: they were (respectively) under two of our righteous servants, but they were false to their (husbands), and they profited nothing before God on their account, but were told: "Enter ye the Fire along with (others) that enter!" Again the verse you quoted was talking about the wives of Lot and Noah who disobeyed Gods command he gave to his prophets Lot and Noah. why is rape tolerable in islam? (koran 4:3, koran 4:24)Q4v3 "If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice" The verse you quoted again talks about lawful marriage and the limitations. why can a muslim woman marry only one husband, but the guy can marry four?Ask all the prophets of God in the bible that question. Ask Solomon who had 1000. a woman not be able to ask for divorce? (surah 2:229)"A divorce is only permissible twice: after that, the parties should either hold together on equitable terms, or separate with kindness. It is not lawful for you, (men), to take back any of your gifts (from your wives), except when both parties fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by God. If ye (judges) do indeed fear that they would be unable to keep the limits ordained by God, there is no blame on either of them if she give something for her freedom. These are the limits ordained by God; so do not transgress them. If any do transgress the limits ordained by God, such persons wrong (Themselves as well as others). " Again see the verse you quoted it says nothing like women cannot divorce. Women have the right to seek divorce in islam and they are channels to do so. Dude in your rage and hatred of the faith of islam you just copied and pasted the trash above, You didnt even bother to check those verses if they had anything to do with your allegations. It is called lazy research and intellectual deficiency. I am not surprised you were banned and you are a big nuisance to this section, your good riddance would be most appreciated by my humble self. I cannot even analyse the allegations as your basis are already false and it will be waste of my precious time trying to defend senslless allegations. |
Must some africans be always practice negativity in everything positive the other day it was an arsenal fan in kenya but at least he took his own life not this nigerian slowpoke killing innocent. I just read it as well on skynews. This idiot most probably doesnt know where manchester is on the map not to talk of visiting old trafford. Why kill innocent celeberating fans , i recommend he be shot by firing squad . . . .idiotic senseless killer. |
Afam:Na so i see am o. Me just dey observe for this thread as i dont want to be dragged into relgious debates here cos david and co will not construct a sentence without going religious on here. |
todak:I dont know how much you know of deedat but he never debated with ignorant people but with intellectuals of the christian faith. In one of his books he said if you ask someone a particular question and his answer is in the negative just move on as there is no point arguing with an opinionated fool. Those were his words of blessed memory. You are opinionated and so like others in here even if you ar4e shown the sky is blue you will refuse to see it. Me dont argue to win but argue to articulate my point and other readers could make any sense whatsoever from it not neccessarily for you as there many non registered members who read all these issues. |
yeswecan:You dont have to spew religious sentiments here , if you want to discuss the issues raised here move to the religous section - islam for muslims and i will be happy to engage you in a healthy debate as most of it is distortion of facts and misrepresentation. This is a political section and lets discuss the politics of the conflict. |
Bastage:What has the place of education got to do with this issue. Education is education. Talking about Africans been first generation is not strictly true as most africans are now well into the 2nd generation especially africans born here in the 80's. Bastage:You must be having a laugh at this. I have travelled and lived in every single region of this country from London to the North west to Teeside in the North East , Cumbria, South east and west, East and west midlands, Inverness, Shetlands and oarkeny , currently in Aberdeen, Scotland. I tel you there are some towns you will struggle to find a single black. Travel to a place called cambellstown in scotland and tell me if there is a single black there not to talk of black councillors. I probably think you meant councillors in london otherwise your statement is absolutely false. Carrebean politicians outnumber blacks because of the reasons in my earlier posts. They were here first simple!!! |
Ikomi:I admire u and i wish you blessings as I have followed some of your posts in this section and its nice to have some voice of reason to complement Richy's hardwork. Dont let the opposing folks stampede you as your head is high up and your objectivity impressive. These people dont see with any other eyes apart from religous pin hole eyes when it comes to the politics of this conflict. |
This has been my campaign all along. The politicians are united in their theiving and looting , it is we masses that are tribalised in our opposition to them. Shame o Shame!!!!! |
I am a die hard arsenal fan and have lived in north london for a while , hence justifiably a gunner as most islington people are. However in life one has to strike a balance In everything. I don’t allow watching of football disturb my islam and prevent me from salah and so on. I do my best to avoid useless utterances and islam comes first before anything. A muslim should see football is a form of entertainment and nothing more, one should never want to die for a football club as even the players will not die for the club. Honestly if you are opportuned to see the lives the players live in london u will not want to buy a ticket to watch a game again. The team loses and here are some fans not eating and extremely sad but the players are already changed to casuals ready to hit the clubs to party. Its an ironical world. My dad became hypertensive as a result of support shooting stars in them days, my mum tries to caution me everytime to reduce my passion for football. Phemour abeg don’t let barce eat your faith as we are in this world for worship. |
mukina2:I am not sure single women are discrimnated upon but i know that of divorced women and again, this is also cultutral as divorced women are looked down upon even in yourba culture and for example in afghanistan men do not divorce htier wives unless they commit adultery. If a man divorces his wife , the whole community would look down on that woman even though the reason for divorce is not adultery. Its all about culture. Divorce is allowed in islam as islam is a practical religion and we do not make the vow "till death do us part" as we cannot see into the future. Thousands of people make that vow and still divorce so it is as good as useless. If the prophet could marry a divorced woman then anyone can and divroced women are not to be looked down upon in the society. N.B Where are all the sisters as it is only mukinah contributing to this thread. Where is Ayinba, zayhal, dominique, riskie, uplawal, and a host of others. |
BOMANY:The poster was spot on. I will go further in saying muslims do acknowledge(not neccessary celeberating) their birthdays and they could show gratitiude to God in any permissible way. The prophet (AS) fasted on mondays as he was born on that day as a sign of gratitutude. I do fast on my birthdays as well and i thank God for sparing my lives and i also acknowledge that i am a year closer to my grave as well as a year older on earth. Muslims could also prepare some food and feed the poor, spend in charity and so on in showing gratitutude. Throwing of extravagant parites is uneccessary, however friends and families could join you in graifying your lord for his mercies of the many previous years and u could have a walima of some sort. Wallahu a'lam. |
Abuzola:I have long concluded this, not even bothered to check the thread in like 5 days. I advise you bors after you articluate your points and arguement and your refute the response , if they still persist in moving round cycles just ignore as they will just sap the energy you could use in educating other muslims and non muslims willing to learn. |
Salam bro jazakallah for your query.Muslims should not prostrate to anything aside from Allah. that is is the commandment of Allah and his rasul (AS). The prophet said in Bukhari i think that " if prostration were allowed to any other than Allah then he would have commanded the wives to prostrate to their husbands". The hadith clearly indicates that prostration is not part of islam and is not a mode of greeting. It is the african or better still the yoruba culture that practise prostration. The hausas squat to greet an respected personality and that is better than prostration. |
Krayola:Very true disability and any illness that will prevent or hurt from bowing there is an exemption. What i wrote earlier refferred to abled body in normal circumstances. We are allowed to pray sitting down if we are travelling and in the plane for example and we do not know where the east is , one can face anywhwere as the east , west, north and south all belongs to Allah as stated in the quran . . . . Rabbul mashreq wa maghreb (Lord of the east and west). However i know some friends who have asked the air hostess to contact the pilot and ask for the direction to the east also, some airlines like emirates, gulf air all show the direction on the tv screens in front of the seats. |
No it is mandatory for the mat you have to be free from physical impurities, what is not mandatory is if you dont posses the mat or you have to pray on the grass or bare ground, you do not have to find out if there are impurities there as long as you havent seen any physical impurity yourself. we have to put our face to the ground and prostrate to the most hing in whose hands is our soul as a sign of total submission and humility to our creator. The manner of bowing is standard across board. It is mandotory to bow down in prayer and the muslim prayer is uniform all around the world. If the ground is muddy the muslim should find a dry ground to pray. |
Personally i would have suggested you took the picture of another islamic thing and write about. The prayer mat is not of any significant importance in islam other than to provide cover for the person praying and the benefit of knowing the surface is free from physical impurities like urine, shit, dog hair and sorts. A muslim could pray on anything ranging from grass to bare ground , placing of paper on the floor and so on. Even in fiqh (islamid jurispundence) when u want to pray on a surface like bareground or used carpet you do not try to start finding out if anyone has urinated on that ground before as you just pray on it because trying to find out will be an herculan task and create doubts which is from the shaitan. However the personal prayer mat has to be protected from filth and impurities as you prostrate your head and bow doen to the most high on it. |
davidylan:dude not every muslim here fall under this category. I for one do not quote bible references here even when i have read it from genesis to revelation. Read my posts well and you will see muslims here quote a lot from the quran. Islamic science is a wide field and not every tom dick and harry become religous scholars overnight without hardwork of diligent study. The muslims here do not claim to be islamic scholars and a few are students of knowledge trying to better themselves and learn from others, unfortunately the ever constant arguements is a painful distraction. |
@Abuzola Seriously speaking some aspect of the saudi society as regards conservatism towards women have no basis in islam. Banning women from driving is not only shameful but absolutely no basis. The notion that a woman cannot answer the telephone is also another aspect i find stange as aisha RA used to teach men after the demise of the prophet AS. Aisha rode on horses and she rode on Camel. During the unfortunate incident of the battle of jamal Aisha rode on a camel and Ali RA escorted her back to her home in Medinah. If women could rideon those means of transportation then why not now. The issue of mahram relates to travelling and not a woman not been able to go shopping alone. How do we explain single women that fought in battles with the prophet. I have been to arab world , i have loads of arab friends. The issue of visiting your friend and the wife guarded away and not been able to serve guests has no real basis in islam as even the bride served guests on her wedding day in the time of the prophet as recorded in hadiths. I could go on and on. The khalaiji cutlture is conservavtive and people have taken this to be of islam. |
ok as i beautifull well well i go niqaab myself ![]() |
ok i go niqaab u. Since you qualify for those that has to be niqaabed according to abu zola |
my PERSONAL opinion is no niqab for beautifull damsel as well, otherwise it is only ugly sisters u want to roam the streets ![]() |
Yeah anyone with a higher degree of eeman and wants to wear the niqaab is absoluteley fine but what is wrong is legislating that it is fard (compulsory on all women) i agree with you. |
Osisi don find trouble again o , d babe don come with her wahala. Wetin do u an pig u eat pig so tey ur people carry swine flu mexico. kai chineke!!!! |
