True federalism is the way to go. Lagos and Abia should definately follow suit. Let every state decide its own faith and leave the useless nigerian police to Police Abuja. |
Jumah Mubarak to all. Bros and sis do not forget to recite surah Kahf today and get your hearts illuminated from this friday to the next friday. If you cant recite arabic, read the english transilteration and i fyou cant read the english translation. May Allah bless you all. |
Are you trying to bribe our moderator not to ban you next time by sweet talking him? ![]() Bro jarus abeg no fall for im sweet talk jare ![]() |
Is this thread degenerating into a north vs south thing . please fellas lets be mature and speak on real issues not the north or south which is better thing. Keep the thread on track @Todak do you not have any other thing to say on NL apart from Aisha (RA) marriage to the prophet (PBUH). Honestly its already damn boring and not a new thing from you. Its high time u moved on and speak on other things and not repeating the same gibberish every minute. |
Ever heard of the splitting of the moon? |

No2Atheism:The first one had an hadeeth number but this doesnt and i have explained how hadeeths are referenced. However from the top of my head this hadeeth is exactly similar to the ealier ones under the same context. I am 99% sure of this but i just wanted a reference so i could quote it verbatim. All the prophet was saying here was "obey your ruler even if he was a black with a pug nose face" . It falls under the earlier ones and i hope this is clear and this issue rested. |
No2Atheism:Please could you give the hadeeth number referenced from where you copied it from ? Page number are not really used for hadeeth reference as it is mainly the page number in the arabic version which is different to the page numbers of the translated version. You could laso go a step further by quoting the whole hadeeth . |
I have rested my case just wanted to expose his malicous intents. |
I think these thieves desrve more than torture |
Now let me expose your falsehood and lazy research you quoted from Bukhari Vol 1 book 11 hadeeth no 662 , this is the full quote - Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Listen and obey (your chief) even if an Ethiopian whose head is like a raisin were made your chief." This hadeeth itself make you shoot yourself in the foot. The hadeeth is talking about the irrelvance of the complexion of your leader and the equality of race before God. Now this is Bukhari vol 9 hadeeth no 256 " Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "You should listen to and obey, your ruler even if he was an Ethiopian (black) slave whose head looks like a raisin." Again we see the meaning of this hadeeth. a simple independent verification by you will have saved you this embarassment and lazy research. |
Abuzola:I did state that i could not remember the exact explantion of that hadith but i vividly remember there was an intepretation based on cricumstance hence the ruling of no salah during khutbah by imam Malik and abu Hanifa (RA) , However i will search for it as what i wrote was just from the top of my head. The hadiths is i think reported in the sahihain(Bukhari wa muslim) and i will inshallah come back on that. |

ikeyman00:Please why not respect the entire contributors to this thread and be civil. |
Corruption is everywhere UK,US every damn place. the difference is in the western world there is a degree of accountability and if you get caught u will be brought to book but in our junglle down town west Africa there is no accountability. If you get caught u will become a celebrity and ovation will visit your house , Bisi Olatilo will attend your party and celeberate you to the world. If this British MP,s were in Nigeria i bet they might be even more corrupt. Greed is a human thing when a man can thrive above greed he will become a Real Man. |
A-town:Thanx bro this is exactly my point. These people have no other homes other than Nigeria and some of them will not even be able to get other Lebanese passports as their fathers were born in Nigeria. There indians in this situation as well, the world has moved on and if Britan or the Us treated us like this despite our numerous atrocities in those countries we will be crying stop generalising and all those sentimental words. |
Abuzola: Abuzola:Not really bro they have done nothing wrong see my explantion below. ayinba1:Jazakallah to all the sis and Babs who have tried to answer the question and they are both right. Just to shed a bit more light on this issue The fiqh of jumah differs zayhal:Sista zahal is correct here and this is according to Maliki and hanafi fiqh. babs787:The answer of Babs regarding tahiyyatul masjid is also correct according to Hambali and i think shafi fiqh as well. Hence, if someone enters the masjid while the sermon is on and sits quitely without the nawafil prayer he his correct and if he does the nawafil he his following the Hambali fiqh and not wrong. The maliki and hanafi base their evidence on the khutbah of jumah been the first two rakas of zuhr hence u cannot be saying a diff salah while a salah is going on in jammah hence the ruling that you sit during the khutbah and not pray. I personally hold on to this opinion and follow this ruling as i feel it is a stronger opinion and i am more of Maliki but studied well the Hanafi fiqul ibadat. The hadith quoted by Babs narrated by Jabir was explained by scholars of fiqh that there was a reason why the prophet asked that man to stand up as it was not the general norm of the sahabas to do salah during the khutbah. The reason was that the prophet (PBUH) wanted to bring peoples attention tho this man so they could help him as he was poor and his clothes would give away his situation immediately and some shabas could be of help. The other hadiths were also explained which i cant remember right now if i will be honest. The book Fatih'bari by ibn hajar Alasqalani will definately do justice to the explanation of the hadith in Bukhari. There is also a wide range of differences on Jumah ranging from the language of the khutbah , to the dua during the khutbah and weather the congregation should say ameen or not, to the raising of hands during this dua and so on. Issues like how many people do we need present to conduct a jumah prayer and stuff. All these issues have no one single answer to them and people have to respect the differences in opinion. Many people follow a ruling based on the prominent fiqh of their geographical location and Nigeria like most of Africa tends to be Maliki, the Indo pak countries hanafi , other south asian countries Shafi, The Gulf countries Hambali or the salafiyyah concept of no madh'hab, other middle eastern countries split between shafi and hanafi. I hope this summary has been a lil clear. please state if it is not clear and may Allah increse us all in knowledge. Wallahu a'lam.

|
I love surah Maryam and Surah Yusuf is just pregnant with many lessons ranging from family life to politics, to the fundametals of tawheed. Understanding the tafseer of the surah will blow away your mind. Surah Tawba as well is a surah i love as it stipulates the ultimate means to the final destination. |
JJYOU:You are right not everyone but i am not talking about requirments to qualify for citizenship i am talking about someone who is already a citizen. These are two different issues entirely. JJYOU:Everyone is told to apply for passports at their respective local passport offices , the issue is why should only these people be directed to Abuja and not be given their passports in Kano as they are renewing and not applying fresh. |
busi-bodi:You are right here !! the money na just bribe money , this one no be even embezzlement. This $150 million is just like the bribe u give to the police. |
We are forgetin gmost of this people had their parents born in Nigeria. We used to live in Apapa and i know the lebanese comunity there had been there since the 60's . JJYOU:I beg to diasgree with this as in the UK it is different once you have been granted citizenship. These lebanese are already Nigerians they are not applying to be Nigerians but they are applying to renew the passports (document), that is the issue here and not weather they should be granted citizenship or not as they are already citizens. Why descriminate against someone with a Nigerian passport? |
now that u have seen it from an islamic point of view, now assume u are a christian and then see it from the christian point of view. this is called objectivity. how can u call GOD (JESUS) a mere prophet? that is an insult.
I repeat that is the why ur a christian and we are muslims. This difference has been there for 1428 years and it is no one here that started it. It is not an insult form any NLnder but the very core of ithe religious belief. The point is wee need not insult oursleves over thiss issue neither is intelligent to insult the symbols of the 2 faiths. No muslim and i repeat no muslim is a muslim if he insults the person of Jesus. What you term an insult i have stated the origin. The christian leaders will not attack islam on this basis and it lacks intellectual depth to do so.I do not like to deviate threads but this was my response to this issue on the thread and i beleive this should rest the case. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-244551.128.html I must confess its like this is my first time on this thread and the insults and abuses on the first 3 pages is just unfortunate to be in a religous thread. My observation has been religious bias kills peoples intellect and intelligence. |
It could sound pessimistic but i dont see anything comming out of this panel. It is just the usual razz matazz or hulla ballu that surrounds corruption cases, after few weeks it iwll just die a natural death and the pressmen will be bribed to keep it out of the pages of Nigerian newspapers. |
ikeyman00:Gentleman!!! I have tried to be civil and calm here, grab a cold drink and calm ur nerves down, insults has no place in civil environment. Intellectuals disagree and debate with reason and dont throw foul words at people. U dnt need to break an artery cos of this difference in view bro chill out. |
tudor:Intelligence is indeed expensive!!! Tudor please chill out and reflect deeply, enlightenment and objectivity is a wonderful skill. You say Niger delta activist are not christians which i could agree as they could be traditionalist but they are definately not muslims and most of them refer themselves as christians. Asari Dokuba is one man amidst thousands of militants. He doesnt even control the MEND, he is not on the same page with Henry Okah and he consistently condemns kidnappings. Asari Dokubo became muslim very long time before the activism of the OBJ era started. The guy had converted years before that. how many muslims do you find in Rivers state or Bayelsa or how many ijaw muslims do you know. Please lets be real here. This statement of your I must say is really low and lacks any intellectual depth but just shallow in thought. |
honeric01:The question here is are these people Foreign national Read the psot below OneNaija:How can a person with an expired Nigerian passport be called a foreign national Now i live in the UK, and dual national , the UK govt will never address someone with a British passport as a foreign national but as a british citizen. Lets use our intelligence here and not sentiments that are baseless. |
JJYOU:I think the point here is the Kano office could issue them with the passport so why are they been directed to Abuja and other are not been directed there. In Nigeria no one needs to go to Abuja to get a pasort and can get it in their region. |
MrCrackles:Na true talk u yan , no be naija we dey? ![]() |
tudor:It is really unneccessary and uncalled for, if you want to discuss that start another thread. This is simply an advice to muslims , you dont have to be confrontational at everytime or steer discussions to controversies. See what you have done to a simple thread of pork into. "insults insults and insults" just a shame |
