The first one had an hadeeth number but this doesnt and i have explained how hadeeths are referenced.

However from the top of my head this hadeeth is exactly similar to the ealier ones under the same context. I am 99% sure of this but i just wanted a reference so i could quote it verbatim. All the prophet was saying here was "obey your ruler even if he was a black with a pug nose face" . It falls under the earlier ones and i hope this is clear and this issue rested.

Please could you give the hadeeth number referenced from where you copied it from ? Page number are not really used for hadeeth reference as it is mainly the page number in the arabic version which is different to the page numbers of the translated version. You could laso go a step further by quoting the whole hadeeth .

This hadeeth itself make you shoot yourself in the foot. The hadeeth is talking about the irrelvance of the complexion of your leader and the equality of race before God.

Now this is Bukhari vol 9 hadeeth no 256 "
Narrated Anas bin Malik:

Again we see the meaning of this hadeeth.

I did state that i could not remember the exact explantion of that hadith but i vividly remember there was an intepretation based on cricumstance hence the ruling of no salah during khutbah by imam Malik and abu Hanifa (RA) , However i will search for it as what i wrote was just from the top of my head. The hadiths is i think reported in the sahihain(Bukhari wa muslim) and i will inshallah come back on that.

1. if you arrive before the sermon, you can do your tahiyyatu masjid and follow up with as many nawaafil as you can/as time permits. One the sermon starts, you have to stop.

2. If you arrive while the sermon is on, you go in gently and sit at the 1st available space you see, not disturbing others. you should not observe any nafla now but just sit down and listen to the sermon. No ibaadah should be done while the sermon is on, whether nafila, tilaawatulqur'an, dhikr. One should just listen to the sermon and also try not to engage in conversation with anyone.

3.At the end of the sermon, it's time for the congregational salah now, abi?

Sista zahal is correct here and this is according to Maliki and hanafi fiqh.

Salam brother. It seems you are referring to nawafil before salatul Jumuah.From fiqh-u-sunnah,it is sunnah to offer supererogatory prayers before al-Jumuah until the imam arrives. After his arrival,one should no longer offer any salah,save for the prayer of greetin the mosque (tahayyatul masjid) which may be performed quickly during the Khutbah unless one comes at the end of the Khutbah and would not have the time (i.e,before the actual salah begins) to perform tahayyatul masjid. Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet (saw) said 'whoever makes ghusl on the day of Jumuah and then goes to the mosque and prays what has been prescribed for him,and remains queit while the imam delivers the Khutbah,and then prays with the imam,he will have forgiven for him what is between the Jumuah and the next and an additional three days(Muslim). Jabir reports that a man came to the mosque on Jumuah while the prophet was delivering the Khutbah.The prophet (saw) inquired of him,'did you offer your salat? The man replied 'no'.He told him,'pray two rakat.This is related by the group. Another narration says 'if one of you comes to the mosque on the day of Jumuah and the imam is delivering the Khutbah,he should pray two rakat and make them quickly.(narrated by Ahmad,Muslim and Abu Dawud.Another narration says,'if one of you comes to the mosque on the day of Jumuah and the imam has already arrived,he should offer two rakat(related by Bukhari and Muslim.

The answer of Babs regarding tahiyyatul masjid is also correct according to Hambali and i think shafi fiqh as well.

Hence, if someone enters the masjid while the sermon is on and sits quitely without the nawafil prayer he his correct and if he does the nawafil he his following the Hambali fiqh and not wrong.

The maliki and hanafi base their evidence on the khutbah of jumah been the first two rakas of zuhr hence u cannot be saying a diff salah while a salah is going on in jammah hence the ruling that you sit during the khutbah and not pray. I personally hold on to this opinion and follow this ruling as i feel it is a stronger opinion and i am more of Maliki but studied well the Hanafi fiqul ibadat.

The hadith quoted by Babs narrated by Jabir was explained by scholars of fiqh that there was a reason why the prophet asked that man to stand up as it was not the general norm of the sahabas to do salah during the khutbah. The reason was that the prophet (PBUH) wanted to bring peoples attention tho this man so they could help him as he was poor and his clothes would give away his situation immediately and some shabas could be of help. The other hadiths were also explained which i cant remember right now if i will be honest. The book Fatih'bari by ibn hajar Alasqalani will definately do justice to the explanation of the hadith in Bukhari.

There is also a wide range of differences on Jumah ranging from the language of the khutbah , to the dua during the khutbah and weather the congregation should say ameen or not, to the raising of hands during this dua and so on. Issues like how many people do we need present to conduct a jumah prayer and stuff. All these issues have no one single answer to them and people have to respect the differences in opinion.

Many people follow a ruling based on the prominent fiqh of their geographical location and Nigeria like most of Africa tends to be Maliki, the Indo pak countries hanafi , other south asian countries Shafi, The Gulf countries Hambali or the salafiyyah concept of no madh'hab, other middle eastern countries split between shafi and hanafi.

I must confess its like this is my first time on this thread and the insults and abuses on the first 3 pages is just unfortunate to be in a religous thread. My observation has been religious bias kills peoples intellect and intelligence.

Otherwise how on earth would we be arguing over the name of God. Before Christianity came to Yoruba land and the religion was paganism, Eledumare was reserved for God, After Christianity God is still called Eledumare without any misunderstanding of who they were referring to.

There is a misconception here and I will try to explain perhaps some bros or sis might have explained it before. The pagan arabs in Arabia believed in Allah (God) they did believe in him but the reasons they were called pagans was that they worshipped him through lesser deities e. Lat, Uzza, alah and other idols. These was they same situation in Yoruba land the yorubas believed in the paramount supreme being of Eledumare but worshipped him through shango, Orunmilla, osun and co. My evidence in Q39 v 3 “ …those who take protectors besides Him say “ we worship them (idols) only that they may bring us near to Allah”. Verily Allah will judge between them concerning what they differ…”

Another verse is Q29 v 61 And if you were to ask them ; “who created the heavens and the earth and subjected the moon ?” They will sure reply “Allah”. How then are they deviating (as pagans and disbelievers).

The normal and natural thinking of human inclines to the acknowledgement of a supreme being somewhere but what differentiates us is the concept of worship of this true Supreme Being.

The pagans of makkah weren’t pagans because they did not believe in Allah; they did believe and they weren’t atheist . They were pagans because they did not reject the false idols and false systems.

Allah says in the quran 2 v256 “ La ikraha fi deen…………, wa mon yakfuru bi taghut wa yuminu billah…”

“There is no cumplusion in religion ………………, whoever rejects the taghut(idols , false systems etc) and believes in Allah…, ” The condition is to first reject the idols then believe in Allah which the pagans did not comply hence them being disbelievers.

The notion that Allah muslims call is the Allah the pagans called when the bear Abdullah is correct because the pagans believed the creation of the earth was by Allah and they accepted him but worshiped him thru idols and that is the kufr.

The allegation of the Christians here concerning this name is baseless as I have explained it above and gave an example of Christianity calling God eledumare in Yoruba land and Eledumare predates Christianity in Yoruba land. This issue of language and name is so trivial and that is why I said religious bias kill peoples intellect and intelligence.
