The OP never asserted that the guy in question has a problem with 'modern gadget', and if anything, the opposite is the case - because she alluded to the fact that the guy bought a car... The problem here is that the guy does his thing in a more traditional way, and I don't see anything wrong with that - if that's what he believes in... That's who he is, and there's no point trying to ridicule, or change him... If at all he's going to 'change', he would change with time - and there's no point trying to force him to leave his comfort zone, for something that's alien to him...

The most important thing is that, he's happy the way he's - why force him to change and make him unhappy, just to suit your 'modernist' ideology If she's not comfortable with the guy, she should just leave him alone...

We, africans, have been victims of prejudice and racism for many years and probably til infinity. South Africa, despite its prowess will always be an apartheid nation no matter what. Its really pitiful and annoying how we are treated like animals. To the europeans and asians, there's no disparity between an ape and a black man, even if you are a mullato. We've even made things worse. We treat them like "gods" when they are in our land, when the only difference between us is the melanin composition in our skin. The whites even envy us, especially the mullatos - if not why do they tan their skin to make it look darker? I really don't know why people run over there. Granted, they want "greener pastures", but i don't see how one can prosper by engaging in meager, demeaning work. Besides, how assured can one's asylum be? If not for illiteracy and our primitive culture that promotes ethnic segregation, Africa would've been the greatest continent on Earth.

Who says that courtship guarantees a successful marriage? You can never know anybody well enough during courtship. The dynamics of the relationship also changes once it is called a marriage.

Fine, courtship doesn't guarantee complete understanding of ur spouse, bt it does enlighten u on some things he/she hates and likes. Complete ignorance is worse. And i never said with all d advice, u'll have a "perfect" marriage and live happily ever after. Dat doesn't exist!
