You must be mistaking prison for jail. You are considered ‘jailed’ when your case is still within the police station or before a Judge for adjudication. During this period, you could be housed in a police cell or in a prison. Anybody that has been ‘bailed’ have been jailed. So, he has gone to jail and back multiple times.

Going to Prison on the other hand is when a Judge have finished the adjudication of your case and have sentenced to serve time…so, he has not yet been imprisoned.

I support the other contributor, sometimes when you keep preventing a kid from putting their hands in a burning fire, they don’t learn….very soon, when no one is looking, they will put their hands in the fire and experience the pains and learn their lesson.
