Thank you Pastor Tunde Bakare, you have never disappointed me. The likes of C Ronaldo may deny it as much as they want to but the truth is our churches stink. Yes, they stink to the high heaven. Martin Luther (a German Catholic Priest) started his reformation because he found it difficult to accept the followings:

1. That people were being severely taxed to build the St Peter's Basilica- (your Covenant University, Redeemed University etc, )
2. The infallibility of the Pope -(your daddies can never be wrong)
3. Payment for penance -(the more you give, the more blessings you receive)
4. When you confess your sins to the priest, they are forgiven- (my pastor said, )

Martin Luther dealt the symbolic blow that began the Reformation when he nailed his Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Church. That document contained an attack on papal abuses and the sale of indulgences by church officials.
But Luther himself saw the Reformation as something far more important than a revolt against ecclesiastical abuses. He believed it was a fight for the gospel. Luther even stated that he would have happily yielded every point of dispute to the Pope, if only the Pope had affirmed the gospel.
And at the heart of the gospel, in Luther's estimation, was the doctrine of justification by faith—the teaching that Christ's own righteousness is imputed to those who believe, and on that ground alone, they are accepted by God.
That doctrine, often called the Material Principle of the Reformation, is what the apostle Paul taught as well: "To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" (Rom. 4:5).

These were some of the reasons why he issued his rejection of some doctrines of the then Catholic Church. He was charged with heresy and asked to recant which he rejected. He was then excommunicated.
Christendom became better for it as people were able to get copies of the bible through the printers in Gutenberg, Germany. That is why every one of us can read the Holy Bible today before then only the priests had access to the Bible.

My heart weeps when i read comments like this, these pastors should humble themselves and let people see the lord Jesus as the all in all. I am not sure peter or paul ever had such comments directed at them, and its because of the way they conducted their ministries, Jesus was the centre of all attractions as far as they are concerned.

There is nothing bad in what Tunde Bakare has said though he also has his shortcomings as every man does ,we need more of him to put sanity in our religious sector,(permit me to use that word)

I NEED ANSWERS TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

Remember the bible said " The Berean christians were wiser,because they always personally confirm from the bible if what paul taught them were true or false" i cant pick the precise verse in the bible but this shows some set of christians had the gut to scrutinise words from their spiritual leader at the beginning of christianity. I dont understand why we always fear to hold our spiritual leaders accountable,they are also human and they do make mistakes. Rather we take everything dished to us in churches in wholesome manners.

Do you know some pastors lost Huge sums of money collected through offering, Tithes,and seeds to the current crash in the stock market?. If the MD of a Public Company had recorded such loses wont he be questioned? I wont mention names but how do we explain this? Most of these men of God are the sole signatory to church accounts and they disburse funds as they please. Jesus would have focused his attention on feeding widows and fatherless, that is the missionary work am talking about. I have always argued that men of God should be able to draw the line between ministry and business but we are really missing the point in Nigeria and its soo sad. These men of God hold large shares in companies that were formed with church members sweat believe it or not but they will never tell you openly. Dont you think its time churches start presenting audited accounts to members if funds are being used for commercial purposes?

I am also a pentecostal believer but let us tell ourselves some truths. Do you know my sister and her husband were given payment slip booklets in 2002 or thereabout to keep donating money for the construction of the Winners chapel, Covenant University but today i am not sure they can send their children there because of the huge fees being paid. Is that a MISSIONARY WORK? If the catholics and methodist church of these world had sinister motives when they came to Nigeria i am not sure many of us would have had western education.

One more hypochrisy that gets me angry is that 90% of these men of God send their children abroad for University studies while i am being preached at to believe in the Nigerian dream and commit all i have got to this country including my children education. Is that not the admittance that Nigeria is a failed state? And if that is right why are the churches not been encouraged to engage the corrupt leaders so that we can fight for our right?. Its because they are quietly comfortable with the status quo,so that the Tithes and Offerings can keep coming in.

One other question i have is why is there so much division in the body of christ? Jesus never had different branches and different doctrines, Do you know churches in Nigeria are quietly competing with each other? every church is trying to build the largest auditorium, every church wants to have the largest spiritual gathering, every church want to have the biggest gospel concert. Shouldnt we ask ourselves how these have helped developed our economy? We still remain one of the most corrupt nations on earth,soo much for our largest christian achievements.

Finally, Last week i got several frantic robocall and text messages from a church inviting me for their annual conference. For Gods sake i am already a leader in another church,why all these frantic efforts to gather crowd?. I know the answers, its because the church in question had not been soo competitive in the recent publicity efforts in the churches and it is telling on their financial statement.

Jesus is the way,the truth and life but Pastors in Nigeria are missing the line between Church and Business and that should be corrected.

Yesterday i was at an airport with a fellow businessman and it was all tales of woe,my friend had given up on Nija but he is worried about the future of his kids and what they will grow up to know as a country

Fine its not as if i am not making money in Nija but what is the essence of making money if you cant enjoy it with peace of mind. I told a friend of mine in August that Nobody inclusive of Otedola, Adenuga OR Aliko can claim to be enjoying their wealth, a situation where Aliko runs his own gen which emits smoke is not a good thing as his health span is being curtailed.

Or Can Otedola pick his range rover and start crusing around Oshodi by 1am without looking over his shoulder?

Even if you start a business in this country there is a 60% chance its gonna fail, due to frequent policy changes,infrastructural decay ,infact In Nija its practically impossible to plan long time because you never know whats coming next etc SOOO much for your enterpreneurial spirit in a country that will fustrate you out of business. Truth is i am always thankful to God because sometimes i wonder how my group survive without govt influence,cheating or what have you.

Do you know what? sometimes i feel like giving up my work to enjoy the correct amenities in some of these countries, over here life is sooo cheap, you can lose it easily. Sometimes i am alone on train stations in europe and i feel safe because i know that if i am killed a camera is there to track those responsible for my death. I also know that those in charge of investigating such will do a thorough job. We are talking about the value placed on lives here folks and not some funny patriotism. So of what use is your Job In Halliburton,Shell And Co if you cant have peace of mind due to bad roads,electricity etc.

Nobody is a big boy in naija, infact the fact that we see some pple as big boy is part of our problem ,this leads to stigmatisation of jobs,tribe and class. In a society where things are working everybody is respected, everybody counts inclusive of the Driver,cleaner security etc.

Recently i heard a lawmaker in Nija slapped a security man for not recognising him,in a society where there is order that is enuf to ruin that lawmaker's career but here can the poor man even get money to hire a lawyer? If that poor man who felt so humiliated decides to travel abroad illegally should he be crucified?

And migrating legally or illegally is not a new thing its part of human history and development, Countries like Australia, Canada, The USA and many others were flooded by british men who had no papers at their formative stages and now everybody is talking about africans migrating. Some of these Britons who fled their country to australia did so to escape legal punishment for offences committed. Havent you heard about the wave of the Italians who arrived The USA in the late 1800's? how are we sure that the current campaing against migration is not a case against the black race, thats just a food for thought, i am not making a conclusive arguement here, so dont tag me a racist? I only want you to open your mind.

And To all Of you saying people should stay back and Develop Nija its not as if we dont wanna develop it but the system itself is against development almost everything here is founded on fraud and falsehood. A case where lawmakers demand huge amount of bribe to get a bill that will bring about development of the whole country passed is a case in point? I am talking about the Land Use Act here,if you understand what i am saying. Because we didnt pay,that bill has been on the 1st and 2nd reading for the past 6 years.

And to shock all of you,Nija is heading towards a One-party state , i am not a politician neither do i patronise them or their cults (although thats part of my limitations too,which is not meant to be) but feelers from the corridors of power shows some clandenstine moves are being made which i cant be spewing out here. So my people fight for yourself, do all you can to safeguard your future.

  Meeeeennn, I can never forget my ordeal from the noise polution i suffered from a Celestial Church and a record seller  beside my former rented apartment in dopemu. I moved out of the area to a private estate in Ikeja a year ago, kindly take a look at my horror stories starting from sunday

Sunday= Cele starts service by 10am blasting music untill around 4pm, luckily for me i escape to the first service of my church which starts by 7am, after that service i walk around the church greeting brothers and sisters to while away time,so i dont bother going home after my sunday service at ilupeju, i will be driving aimlessly arround visiting friends before returning home in the evening. Sometimes God dey catch cele ooo, because if i decide to go home and there is no light i put on my generator thereby blasting my own noise for cele ear.

2. Monday to Saturday= Record seller start blasting songs from 9am till 9pm , The favorites songs are ayefele, some pasuma, and one alhaji from Ilorin , thank God for office,i will stay back after work then drive home by 9:30 pm by that time record seller would have closed shop.

3. Monday,Wedsday and Friday Nights= Cele starts some deliverance vigil in the middle of the nite, so i go to bed early so i can catch some sleep such that the noise from the deliverance sessions will not be overwhelming.[/b]
After some time i had memorised some of the Cele songs so i usually sing along if i couldnt find sleep, the Record blaster also had these song about Islam in the city of Ilorin, i was amazed whenever i found myself singing along.

  , Now i can laugh over it because my level don change small, but those were some good old days.
