MaxInDHouse:Do you realise even you are a spirit? |
OnlineStreet:It seems there's a deliberate attempt to demarket Governor Hope Uzodinma by NL and social media platforms. He shared 15,000 laptops to 15,000 youths in Imo State just last month, yet it did not make FP on nairaland, even though virtually all the major TV stations covered it live. I even took the pain t to open a thread about it only for so called antispasm bots to ban me from politics for a day. The topic is still hidden till now. Where as some one shares 100 laptops in Anambra state and that makes FP. While sharing the 100 laptops is also commendable, it begs the question if Hope Uzodinma is being victimized. |
achorladey:Thanks for the comprehensive reply. Truly appreciated. 1. I can assure you that JW is truly vastly knowledgeable when it comes to the Letter/Logos of the Word of God but unfortunately because you do not recognise the "Person" of the Holy Spirit but only see him as the "Force" of God, you cannot understand the Revelational Knowledge (Rhema) of the Word of God. This makes your organisation practise rhe religion and not the life of Christ. Jesus and His disciples manifested the Fruit and Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Love of God. That is what Christ-likeness is. 2. While this generation as truly prophesied suffers from the explosion of false prophets/teachers and false doctrines, there are still true disciples of Christ. But how will you discern them when you have lumped everyone that's not JW member as unbeliever. 3. Like wise why people no longer grant you audience and in fact Russia is heavily persecuting your organisation. It is simoly the principle of mutuality- reapect/honor and disrespect/dishonor is reciprocal. 4. This is true only when you allow the Holy Spirit who inspired the Word of God to be your Lord and teacher. 5. Why should you be discouraged from being open to others who believe in the same God and Jesus Christ? I understand your bible is quite different but if you have indeed submitted to the Word of God as the Authority, then whatever other share with you from the bible should be some thing you're open to, just as the Bereans did. Then do your own personal study on it. If Paul the apostle, who was so sure that he belonged to the most perfect sect/organisation/nation of the Jews could end up being wrong and in fact was persecuting His Own LORD, should this not make you open-minded and open-hearted when it comes to your salvation and walk with God? Also Apollos was highly knowledgeable about the Baptism of John the Baptist but it took Aquila and Priscilla to teach him and open his eyes through scripture to the Baptism of Jesus Christ. In conclusion, do not be closed-minded when it comes to God and the revelation of Christ because it is what determines and shapes your life and soul both here on earth and in heaven. Grace and Mercy multiplied to us all. |
slimfit1:Babangida is the reason Nigeria is the way it is today- backward as a 3rd world country instead of competing among the G-7 or atleast G20 countries. Present day Nigeria is the end result of Babangida's institutionalisation of corruption into Nigeria. But there was cash flow so the people did not realise the implications of his policies until it was too late. He will forever be remembered as the Head of State that annulled the freest and fairest election Nigeria has ever conducted. Please know your history other wise, you may end up celebrating Barabbas and crucifying Jesus Christ. History truly repeats itself. |
Teaching is such a delicate and prestigious profession. Unfortunately in present day Nigeria, this is hardly so. Only few private schools still maintain good standards- morally and academically. There was a time Nigeria was blessed with missionary schools. Teachers who sacrificed and left their countries and comfort to impart knowledge and virtues into the future leaders. Nigeria churned out the best minds that left indelible marks in their chosen fields. There was even a healthy competition. Honestly Nigeria is in dire need of sacrificial teachers. It is one thing to impart knowledge, it is another thing to impart the requisite virtues that produce good leaders. But how can this be, when we have teachers who themselves are not morally or academically role models. However, for those teachers who have invested sacrificially in my life academically, spiritually and socially,,I join the rest the world to celebrate you. |
If you find favor in the sight of God, even in the midst of famine and drought, God supplies your needs. In fact, if you're highly favored, the famine and drought is your season for abundance. Selah 2 Kings 3:17 For thus says the LORD: 'You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink. 1. God's Favor is unmerited but requires our active cooperation with God. 2. God's favor must not be abused. 3. God's favor requires our active preparedness. 4. God's favor should not become an entitlement. 5. A grateful and humble heart will always enjoy God's favor. 6. God's favor is primarily for a Higher Purpose/Calling- to glorify the name of God and continue in God's business/work/Kingdom. When we read the story of Jacob and Esau, we often critique Jabob. And truly, on the surface, it is easy not to like Jacob. Until we understand why God Loves Jacob but hates Esau. Abraham and Isaac had secured God's Favor for their lineage. God had promised to bless the world through Abraham and his sons. Esau by birth right was the lineage to carry the Best of God's Promises. He should be the lineage of the Spiritual Blessing- Jesus Christ. But Esau did not value his birth right unlike Jacob who coveted the Spiritual Blessing. And when the opportunity presented itself, Jacob wasted not time in bargaining with Esau to trade his birth right for food, in fact the bible called it just a morsel (Hebrew 12:16). It must have been really been very disappointing to God that ALL the spiritual blessing and promises God made to Abraham and Isaac did not hold value to Esau. Just because of a temporary/momentary hunger, he traded Jesus Christ. Selah Before we judge him however, we should ask ourselves; How many times have we also compromised/traded our Faith/Grace just for things that are temporal? How much do we value our relationship with God over or material needs? Selah Jacob inherited that Favor and Spiritual Blessings because he valued it. And even though his father Isaac had pronounced the blessings on him, he still made sure he contended for it. When the time came, he wrestled all night till day break with the angel of God till he obtained the blessing. Then God gave him a new name. Selah Amos 6:1 (AMP) Woe (judgment is coming) to those who are at ease and carefree in Zion (Judah) And to those on the mountain of Samaria who feel secure, The distinguished men of the foremost of nations, To whom the house of Israel comes. Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. God's Grace and Favor MUST be guarded jealously. 1. The devil is mad at you because he once had it but he lost it. 2. You never can tell who is secretly envious of God's favor on you. Especially whoever feels God has not favored them, like Cain went as far as murdering Abel and committing the first bloodshed. Because the heart of man is desperately wicked. When all they have to do is is simply entreat God's favor wholeheartedly too. Selah Finally, Favor begets favor. Recognize and honor God's Grace and Favor in the lives on others and Grace and favor keeps multiplying towards you and all around you. And by so doing we shall continue to obtain Favor before God and Man in Jesus name. Amen Notable personalities who obtained God's favor; 1 Samuel 2:26 Samuel And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men. Luke 1 28: And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 30: Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. This Word of God is full of so much Promises for a child of God; Ephesians 1:3-7 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He [a]made us accepted in the Beloved. 2 Peter 2:1-4 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have [a]obtained like[b] precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 1 Peter 2:9-12 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. God's Mercy, Grace and Favor multiplied to us. That we may both prosper on earth and in heaven in Jesus name. Amen and Amen. |
Definitions; Favor can be defined as; 1. help; a thing that you do to help someone 2. approval: approval or support for someone or something 3. better treatment; treatment that is generous to one person or group in a way that seems unfair to others Psalm 102:13 You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. Esther 2: 16:17 So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Psalm 119:58 I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; Be merciful to me according to Your word. Proverbs 8:34-36 Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.” Proverbs 3:2-4 But let your heart keep my commands; 2 For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. 3 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life. And peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and [a]high esteem In the sight of God and man. Apostle Joshua Selman once listed all the things it takes to be successful. He closed by saying you can take every other thing away but just give him God's favor. God's Favor is EVERYTHING that Matters. God's Favor can be likened to a Father who knows it is His Joy and Responsibility to ensure his son or daughter enjoys the Best of Every Good Thing in Life to Be Successful and Prosperous simply because they are His children. Selah When you are just favored by virtue of the Good Name your Father carries. When everyone wants to treat you specially because they know your father and want to bless you with whatever it takes to make your dad know they value him. God's favor is when you don't even have to play a part in being favored. People simply have to know the child of whom you are and they break protocols immediately for you. It is like Jezz Bezos or Elon Musk or Dangote's child looking for a job. Will any one bother to know whether he graduated with a 2.1 or First class? That will simply prove he is qualified for the job. Even if they still pass his through their interview, the HR team will probably be the ones passing him their own CV to please give to his dad. Now Imagine when YOU ARE THE CHILD OF GOD who has found favor in His sight? Selah Psalm 32:1-2 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. When God decided that because of the Sacrifice and Blood of the Precious Lamb of God, Jesus Christ which was shed for your sin, He does not see your sin. Who can bring a charge against you? Selah Simply for Believing God! Simply for believing that Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God came to the Earth and was crucified for your sins and died. Only for Him to Rise/Resurrect from death on the Third Day! This is too spiritual. It makes no sense! That simply by this affirmation some thing extraordinary and supernatural and intergalactical happens im the life and spirit of a person which transcends Time and Space, Life and Death and all Principalities in heaven and on the earth put together! This is the Greatest Miracle- the Salvation of the human soul. Sadly, it is difficult/impossible for one who has not found favor in the sight of God to believe this. If you do believe, oh how favored you are! Please do not take your salvation for granted. For a long time I became an atheist and very carnal (sensual) about life. Spiritual things became ridiculous to me. I thought I had risen above ordinary people. I celebrated and relished the joy of breaking free from religion. For a Time, this was liberating. Because there is a Grace that covers all creatures. But I was no longer under the Saving Grace of God through Jesus Christ. When life's challenges eventually came as they always do, I was empty. My strength was weak. "Life/Nigeria happened to me." |
press9jatv:Honestly parenting is not for the faint-hearted. He grieved the spirit of the poor man to death. Reminds me of the story of Eli and his children. How God rejected his lineage and the Grace was transferred to Samuel instead. |
Janosky:Even other songs that praise God without allusion of Trinity? Would you not consider that an act of self-righteousness? You like wise share your books/journals to non-JW as evangelism but do not collect from them. Sincerely curious as to why? |
EKONGKING:Atiku's lawyers are the real GOAT. They're just fueling his stubborness and fanning his ego and the whole time smiling to the bank. |
seunmsg:This just made my day. So apt. God bless you spontaneously sir. |
YouAreNobody:What then is the Truth sir? |
nairavsdollars:The resilience and tenacity on this man. A gift and a curse. Best to have him on your side then against you. ![]() |
Solofresh2:I like the word you used- Empathy. But it's truly a spiritual issue they have to settle as a family especially as she is the first or last born. Apostle Joshua Selman shares more insight on it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCzvsMGKI-k&pp=ygUaU2VsbWFuIGZpcnN0IGFuZCBsYXN0IGJvcm4%3D |
Vinnie2000:Monthly favors the tenant more than the landlord. Unless the landlord has multiple streams of income. |
Throwback:As true as this is, her office requires Conservative living. Not that it's anyone's business but it is the decorum that should, in a sane country go wwith public office. If you're in thebpruvate sector, how you choose to live your life really is no one's business. The same soes not apply for public office holders. But in an insane country where the president, politicians, ministers, commissioners are the most opulent in the country, how can we question the other public office holders? |
Nonexisting1:In terms of leadership. I'd say they complement each other. You can't have one without the other for Effective training. 2 is more like the training process. 1 is more like the field process. You need 2 to achieve 1 effectively and successfully. |
judedwriter:But 6 is 6 and 9 is 9. Two different numbers that only look similar depending on perspective/view. You can view 6 as 9 by virtue of location but that does not make 6 to be 9 and vice versa. This is instructive because it forms the basis/crux of most arguments. |
BluntCrazeMan:This is one of the most profound topics I've come across on NL. Thanks for sharing. Learning from comments as we hopefully arrive at a consensus of what is rightly correct. |
Fahvvy:Well said. It's a matter of choice. Some have married single mothers and have a very blessed marriage. 2baba's former baby mama is happily married to a pastor. But most times, the single mother has not healed from whatever she was dealing with. |
Azeemokoya:It poses a bit of a challenge when we box everyone together. Among single mothers, there are various kinds of women. What usually is the issue is if she has not healed or learnt from her past relationship cos there was a reason the last relationship did not work out- either her fault, or the father's fault or both parties at fault. As long as she has healed or learnt from the experience, single parents can be the best wives/mothers because they should have learnt what it takes to be responsible and think beyond their own needs alone. |
mbaise1000:All you have said here is true. I hope you live by example too. Grace and Mercy to us all. |
Thank You Heavenly Father for the Gift of Life and Health. Thank You for the Gift of your Precious Word and Holy Spirit. Thank You for the Gift of Your Church and Ministers. Thank You for the Gift of Salvation, for Loving and Saving our Souls. Thank You for Your Grace and Mercy and Faithfulness. Thank You because every Good Gift that we have received and that we desire comes from You. Thank You for Your Protection and Provision. If it had not been You on our side, the enemy and life's challenges would have consumed us. ABBA Father, we are more than grateful, receive our thanks and worship in Jesus name. Father, this we Know; That Your Mercies are Sure and are New Every Morning and that Your Grace is Sufficient for Us. Please Shower us once again with your Mercy and Show Us Your Goodness Oh LORD our God. Let Your Presence and Your Power dwell with us, in our Going out and in our Coming in. Shield us from every arrow of the enemy. Deliver is from the sins that easily beset us. Let your Holy Spirit work your desire in our lives today and always in Jesus name. Help us and Teach us to Love You wholeheartedly. And to Love like you in Jesus name. Supply our needs according to your riches in Glory through Christ Jesus. Equip and Make us to become useful for your every good work for your name to be glorified and your good will be done in the Mighty and Matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Thank You, Heavenly Father for we know you have heard us. Amen |
In conclusion, it is therefore, more imoortant that going to church is knowing and understanding why we are in church and Who we have come to church to meet It is also important that you are in the right church where Mammon (money) is not the God and where the Pastor is not the God. But where Jesus Christ is LORD and the undiluted Truth of the Word of God is preached and taught as revealed by the Holy Spirit of God. It is a Blessing to be a member of the Body (Church) of Christ. -To be a Child/Son of God. -To be a Minister of God. -To be counted among the Family of Faith and Faithfuls. Please be intentional to be a Disciple of Christ and not a Hypocrite. Be Straightforward and Sincere with God. Be Straightforward and Sincere with People. Let your focus be on Jesus. Followi your Pastors/Ministers only as they Follow Christ. Do nor imbibe and replicate their weaknesses. 1Cor.11.1 - Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. Heb.12.1 - Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Heb.12.2 - looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. |
Jesus Christ had some secret followers among the Pharisees too. John.3.1 - There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. However, the Hypocrisy among the Pharisees and Saducees was so deep and threatening that those who did not agree with then could not speak up for fear of being persecuted. So many believers have left the church simply because what the read in the bible is not what they see bring practised in the church. Some have even been victims of the Hypocrisy and duplicity of their church leaders. So many ladies have been molested by pastors, prophets, youth leaders, etc. What so many workers observe in the church among fellow workers, they can't even begin to share. The moment you get closer to some ministers, you begin to see their human/flesh flaws and worse still you begin to observe the conflict between the Minister on the Pulpit and the Man off the pulpit. Especially when it comes to matters of Sexual immorality, Money/Finance and Anger. The same applies to fellow believers. The same child of God in church is a child of the world outside church. You who went to church, to lay your weaknesses at the feet of Christ and be transformed through the help of the church may end up disppointed. I have been a victim of this many times and it weakened my faith and cheated me of the Grace of God the minister carried because whefe there are errors my spirit simply could nor withstand. I had backslided because I was disppointe by the people I looked up to- Pastors, Ministers and their children/family. It us worrisome that after surviving the many temptations outside the church, it is the temptations in the church that swallows people up. Selah It is a fearful thing to go to the House of God only to meet Pharisees and Saducees. The church is, as they say, like a hospital. Every one including you and I, the Pastor, the other Ministers and their families are all Growing. We are all in facing the battle between Spirit and Flesh, the warfare between the old man and the new man. Rom.7.14 - For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. Rom.7.18 - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. Rom.7.19 - For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Rom.7.20 - Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Our salvation (redemption) may have been instant, but our sanctification (continuous cleansing) is a life time journey as we grow in the knowledge and obedience to the Word of God. May God deliver us and His church from Hypocrisy. For this reason, who are we to judge or condemn one another? When everyone of us has some weakness/need we are believing God to help us with- the sins that easily beset us. The fathers of faith, including apostle Paul had their weaknesses too. 2Cor.12.7 - And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Let us therefore grow together in this understanding, that we are all Growing in the knowledge of Christ and Christlikeness to know and do God's will. As you are Growing, allow others to grow as well. Let is be intentional not be the stumbling block to others. Do not be the reason another member falls/backslides or an unbeliever does not want to know or worship your God. May God help us keep our focus on Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our Faith in Jesus name. |
When we read about the Pharisees and Saducees, it is easy to conclude that Jesus Christ hated them. Yet, He did not hate all of them, but hated the hypocrites among them. You may have been taught that God does not hate people. But that is a fallacy. God hates some people and in fact he asks us to like wise hate. Rom.9.13 - As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated." John.12.25 - He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Luke.14.26 - "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple." Pharisees and Saducess are those we know today as Ministers of God- Pastors, teachers, church workers or matured believers who should be leading by example. And just like God, we must hate those who are hypocrites among them. Jesus Christ hated the fact that most of them in his day, just as it is even today, who are meant to lead by example have corrupted the gospel for their own gains. Instead of then to lead members to Christ, on the contrary, they were preventing members from entering the kingdom of God. The Word of God is Timeless. |
Hypocrisy 1. The contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs; hence in general sense, dissimulation, pretence, sham. 2. The claim or pretense of having beliefs, standards, qualities, behaviours, virtues, motivations, etc. which one does not really have. 3. The practice of engaging in the same behaviour or activity for which one criticises another; moral self-contradiction whereby the behavior of one or more people belies their own claimed or implied possession of certain beliefs, standards or virtues. Matt.15.7 - Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: Matt.15.8 - "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. Matt.15.9 - And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."' Job.13.15 - Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him. Job.13.16 - He also shall be my salvation, For a hypocrite could not come before Him. Prov.11.9 - The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. Matt.7.5 - Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. Matt.23.13 - "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Matt.23.14 - Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. Matt.23.15 - "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matt.23.25 - "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Matt.23.26 - Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. Matt.23.23 - "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. |
