I am not interested in the giving a gift or not part of the arguement, I am much more worried about your reaction.
You have a fiancee which means soon you will be married by now you SHOULD know how to manage your parents and husband which should actually be the easiet to manage for you.
You should NEVER have told him about the incident , A simple - sorry mom it must have been an oversight and not saying a word to your fiance would have sufficed and next time he wants to visit you can chip in the 'I think you should get some fruits( or whatever) for mum' part
Your mum might not be wrong for telling you what she told you, Elderly people have certain expectations which might not sound palatable to our ears but you are the one that knows how you will handle the issues.
This simple matter? It has never even gotten to in- law matters |

Technology Market › Re: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by NoToPile: 4:26pm On Jan 05, 2021 |
Sanchez01: Here's where the greed is; a telco company was leased a part of the land for 10 years, and the landlord has received a 10-year lease payment. First is the danger of continued exposure to radiation being emitted from the base station but that isn't the issue to the landlord. He agrees to the deal to sell that tiny part to the telco company for cool millions of Naira and then realise he can no longer stay there, possibly because he has been advised of the dangers
He could have outrightly sold to the telco but they might not want the entire land and it is an unwise business move. This particular land is dangerous to health as it is but the landlord and our esteemed omo onile must maximise profit.
So they decide to sell the land but exclude the part they leased out for 10 years so that they can return in the not too distant future to cash out again while the new land owner is well marinated with radiation emitted from the base station.
Since the landlord still has a stake in the listed land, it won't be long before his many children rise up to lay a claim to the land after his demise and pursue the case legally, but that isn't the point.
The land is listed for sale, and the landlord has received payment for the leased part.
He should outrightly sell to whoever is interested, so that the person can decide to terminate the telco contract after ten years owing to prolonged exposure or choose to get paid at his or her own detriment. You can't eat your cake and have it. The land has been made unfit to live on because of the mast The first bolded - how do you know this first info, because the guy said tenants are living there 2nd bolded - let the regulatory bodies enforce that The point still remains nobody can teach the owner of the land how/when/what to sell. It is left to the buyer to do his own diligence, if you ask me the seller is honest enough, he has said it as it is, prospective buyers know what is involved. The seller still has the right to sell or not to sell any portion of his land anyhow he wants it and honestly non of us has the right to tell him how he should sell his property. All this grammar we are speaking sef , maybe the land has already been sold |
Technology Market › Re: House Clearance Sales.. Come In Here!!!! by NoToPile: 3:17pm On Jan 05, 2021 |
Sanchez01: You+the original owners of the land+the family are thieves, nothing more. The owners already received 10 years payment but decided to sell the other parts of the land along with the dilapidated structure
I understand land is pricey in Lagos but selling that property is building from the ground afresh. The mast area is a part of the land. And that it is closest to residential buildings is worse! The landlord must be one greedy human and you, supposedly marketing the place is doing a bad job.
Any reasonable human being who values his or her life and living conditions won't sit in the same compound with a telco mast. Convert the vacant areas on the land to a farm.
How can you receive a 10-year payment from a telco and then sell the land, leaving out where the mast is? Who gets exposed periodically to radiation? Who comes down with cancer in the end? Who receives payment from telcos?
Again, you, + the landlord and whoever thought to sell the land after leasing a part for mast use are bunch of criminals and horrible people. As much as I wouldn't buy a land close to a mast or lease a portion of my land to a telco company, I don't understand what the problem is exactly . Health wise it might not be safe but saying they are greedy/ thieves is what I don't get. The buyer can see that there is a mast close by, its not anything shady, the buyer will make an informed decision. The portion of the mast is leased, that is the only portion the owner cannot sell ( at least until the lease expires) They want to sell the other portion is that supposed to be a crime? They want to continue their lease contract with the telco is that also supposed to be a crime? I don't think so, its the prospective buyer that will do his due diligence if he decides to buy, its his own fault not the fault of the sellers. His own korokoro eyes is seeing what is on ground. No crime has been committed here. |

Hajokexyz: They say the law is an ass and I fully endorse this statement. you know why ? I'll tell you .
There's a banana tree next door to where I live .This tree overhangs my premises . Every morning I have to sweep up the dead leaves of the next door . Now this banana tree has two lovely bunches of fruit in it. The two lovely bunches overhangs my premises. I love bananas and my children love bananas too . If we have to sweep up the dead leaves from the tree ... surely we are entitled to some compensation for our trouble? suppose one day .... I cut down one of the bunches and eat the bananas. After all ... we did not go into our neighbor's compound to cut it . we found it in our yard . what would the law say about it ?.
The law would say I have converted another man's property to mine . which is a round about way of saying I am a thief . As far as the law is concerned , even though the banana bunches overhang my premises .... they do not belong to me .
But I say to the law ..... what about the dead leaves I have to sweep up every morning? has the tree that does not belong to me right to litter my premises ? And the law replies , That's a different matter ; the law allows you to cut down the overhanging branch because every owner of the premises also owns the space above it . If your neighbor's branch overhangs your premises , That's an infringement of your space .
All this is puzzling me . so I say to the law , if I cut down the offending branch , the fruit will be lying on the ground , and will become rotten if they are not eaten . And yet you say I must not eat the bananas. They belong to my neighbor. After All it was his tree that bore them .
so there it is - the law at its silliest . I may cut down the bananas but I must not eat then , indeed ! I came across this but of law in an old boom written by a lawyer or the layman that is you and me . And the feeling I got after reading this book was that the law is the most complicated business one can ever involved in . No wonder they need lawyers to interpret them .
one if the most risky things a person can do is defend himself in court . He may think his case of a straightforward ....but in law nothing is ever straightforward.

gmacnoms: Fouani Nigeria is the sole dealer of LG Korea products. You will only get the korea, which is the main and real LG from ONLY fouani LG stores. There are several branded LG stores that are not Fouani Nigeria. Lots of people want to buy LG korea, but very few can actually afford it.
There is LG branded TVs which are made in China, picture quality, and durability is also amazing. Can compete head in with the korea version. This China version is what is found in all stores that aren't fouani. Retailers and online vendors sell this because it has its own bragging rights and it is affordable.
If you aren't told, or if you don't know so much about TVs, you wouldn't even tell the difference. What I am selling for 60k as clearance sells for between 90k/110k This is why when some people want to sell an LG product bought at fouani for xyz some peeps will always say they bought it xyz price at Jumia. From experience the ones bought at Fouani are more expensive. I salute your honesty. |

It was announced on TVs, Radio and even on Daily Covid 19 briefing. I can not remember how many times, the secretary to Federal Gov, Boss Mustapha announced it on daily Covid 19 briefing both on channels TV, Ait, NTA, TvC. .it was severely announced on CBN tweeter. A thread was created here on Nairaland. Mr President talked about Covid 19 loan during one of his briefing. https://www.nairaland.com/5809088/cbns-n50bn-covid-19-fund-disbursement/151 Survival grant was also on from October before the application was closed few days ago. SA to VP was on Channels TV to announce it on many occasions. VP made mention of it. Same was announced on Nairaland here. I wouldn't know, the kind of news that interest people like you.
This is another ongoing one: https://nyif.nmfb.com.ng/ I am very surprised peeps that use nairaland are saying they were not aware of all these stuffs. This stuff was everywhere even on whatsap, peeps were always forwarding the links to groups |
