lexy2014:The person asking the question didnt ask why she didnt contact the lawyer after the event; rather the person asked why she didnt wait for the lawyer to be there before signing whatever it is she was alleged to sign under duress. Someone alleges they were forced to do something at gunpoint, but another is questioning why she didnt resist and wait for her lawyer to arrive before complying? Hopefully you now see how senseless the question was. |
Netanyahu1:Okay keep fighting Sowore and Soyinka because they criticized GEJ if that makes you feel better with yourself. You can also add people like Oby Ezekwesili and Charlie boy to your 'HATE LIST' for them daring to raise their voice in criticism against Saint GEJ. |
Netanyahu1:Here we go again. Another long rant about how "GEJ was a better president (the best thing after sliced bread) and therefor should never have been criticized by any right minded homosapien." Oga please wake up from this your long delusion, dust 2015 off yourself and move on with your life. Irrespective of whether the current president is bad or worse or even an animal, that doesn't necessarily mean GEJ's presidency was a model to be praised by right thinking humans. So quit this your needless, emotion driven vilification of those who have consistently been critical of every bad government. |
izzou:Whether its true or not is not the issue here... Someone tells you they were 'accosted' on the road and 'forced' to do something,. The first question you're asking in your bid to prove the person wrong is "why weren't you with your lawyer?" How exactly is that a sensible question? |
Someone says they were accosted on the way and forced to sign a paper at gunpoint. Several people are here asking why her husband and lawyer were not with her when she was signing. How can humans be so painfully daft to ask such stupid questions? ![]() |
Netanyahu1:Sowore/Sahara reporters and Wole Soyinka NEVER asked anyone to vote Buhari or APC. The only thing they did was criticize misrule of Jonathan; these same set of people also CONSISTENTLY criticized IBB, Abacha, OBJ and are currently criticizing PMB. So what exactly did they do wrong in criticizing GEJ?.. or did GEJ run a perfect govt undeserving of criticism? Meanwhile, it's only die hard Jonathan supporters that harbour your irrational grudge against any and everybody who dared to criticize the darling Johnny. |
Netanyahu1:How did he create a monster? |
Wow! Bigups to Harry B. This is the first time I would see an actor release a song and it receives 100% positive feedback; even here on Niaraland where we have some resident sadists who find joy in casting others down. Wow! |
Nairaland's Oche Joseph = Pastor ![]() Nairaland's Beaf (a.k.a Reno) = Pastor |
KingOfAmebo:Hate against who exactly?... Of course I feel disgusted that some folks here cant outgrow the election result of 2015 which makes them continually reason irrationally. Out of 200 million Nigerians, why must you keep picking on a select few people who protested bad governance in 2012/2014 and expecting them to lead every protest in Nigeria? DO you pay them for it? or are the remaining 200 million Nigerians crippled. Let me rephrase, why hasn't those you see in that picture show up in protests during this government lack of direction? Don't you think they have suddenly lost their voice or is it the fear of the tyran in Aso rock?People do get tired of complaining and protesting over the same thing over and over... call it fear, call it whatever you want to call it, but after a person has been complaining and protesting over and over again, they get tired when things keep getting worse, and most especially when the only thing the people they are protesting for know how to do is sit behind computers to criticise and throw insults (simple because the critic once criticised their 'hero' who wasn't even a good leader by the way). When old veterans get tired, that's the time for younger ones to pick up. What sense does it make for youths to sit behind computers expecting an octogenarian like Soyinka for example to still be leading protests in 2019? ...and then insulting him for not doing so? |
PrecisionFx:I want to assume your legs aren't broken and you arent deaf or dumb or incapacitated in any way? If that be the case, then there's nothing stopping you from going out to protest bad governance. Those folks you mentioned above have done their part for the country, you cant expect them to do it all for you while you sit your ass down in your house and throw instructions online; those guys aren't the only people who make up 200million Nigerians. You're a typical example of the group of people I referrrd to in my earlier post who simply havent moved on from their trauma of 2015. That explains why you hold a prejudice against those who spoke out against bad governance in the past. |
KingOfAmebo:I assume you're a mature adult, and probably educated? If that be the case, then it's expected of you to understand that a thread goedls beyond just reading the title. |
gurunlocker:Go back and read what I wrote. I was simply referring to those 'attacking' the people who spoke against GEJ's misrule back then (these same set of people have called people like Oby Ezekwesily, Sowore, Soyinka, Charlie Boy etc all sorts of unprintable names for daring speak against GEJ back then and you begin to wonder whether GEJ's rule was spotless and undeserving of criticism). My point was/is simple, there is nothing wrong or dishonorable about voicing out against misrule; these guys should wake up and move on. |
Jonathanians seriously need help... it's now clear that these guys will keeping mourning / wailing over GEJ's loss for eternity. Jonathan ran a useless government and Nigerians revolted against him. PMB is currently running a more useless government and Nigerians are revolting against him. But core Jonathanian wailers aren't having any of that; according to these pitiable plebs, anyone who dared to raise a voice against GEJ's misrule back then was and is still their sworn enemy. Let the wailing continue! |
Proffdada:Okay now I see; it's no longer about the dressing, but rather their actions, the sexy dancing. The 'action' is 'indecent exposure'. Funny people! Maybe someone should take the matter to court so we can all watch as the prosecutor would be disgraced and chased away from the premises for wasting the precious time of the court. |
When I read through the comments on these Revolution threads, and I read through the comments on facebook, instagram and others, I just shake my head and sigh away at the uselessness of Nigerians. Just exactly like I said some weeks back when I first heard of this revolution protest, I rightly said that a revolution can never happen in Nigeria; the government doesn't even need to do anything, the people lamenting and wailing everyday would be the ones to drown and uproot the revolution themselves. |
slyfox35:You go wait tire! You might be shocked to know that girls like Tacha are not always easy straff... Most times it's all talk and no action. |
Proffdada:Were they nude?.... Since when did bikinis equate to being nude? Meanwhile talking of kids, why exactly is it okay to take kids to public beaches with hundreds of mature girls on bikinis, but it is a grave crime worthy of the noose if those same girls step away from the beach sand to concrete streets? On moral grounds, YES! What he did was wrong, but legally?... Is it really a crime or even an offence? |
"He left Ashley Cole on his backside".... Kaiii! ![]() |
Proffdada:...And he will go to jail for what charges exactly?... keypoint to note here is "going to jail", this issue has nothing to do with my kids. Are we just trying too hard to be ridiculous here or what?... Why dont you better suggest he should be apprehended and given 100 strokes of the cane (shariah style) for dancing with girls on bikini in public? |
Go to jail because of women on bikini?.... Some people are high on cow dung. |
Kingosytex:...and the Fulani elite, leaders and rest of the non-violent ones have never for once attempted to caution or condemn the acts of the marauders; instead they're always on the defensive, insensitively attacking those calling on them to call their kinsmen to order. The Fulanis totally brought this upon themselves and it's ridiculous that even the educated/enlightened ones still dont see any wrong in their actions. |
judgementyard: gnykelly:Believe the Nigerian police at your own peril. If the police rescued her, how come they couldnt rescue others? I'm far more inclined to believe the testimony of the woman that she escaped when she found a window of opportunity (created by GOD). She probably ran and ran and ran into the arms of policemen or a police station; that explains why the police are claiming 'rescue'. |
Mrshocker:There is nothing wrong with Sowore contesting that election and there is bothing wrong with him leading this protest. Contesting in that elction was already part of the protest against the useless system. |
Chrisbeks: Nbote:The police isnt as stupid as you guys loosely assume. |
The reason we can never have a revolution in Nigeria is because we all dont share common interests. The goals which Mr A views as ideal are totally different from the ideas of Mr B. All tribes seem to have different ideas on what a better Nigeria should look like and everyone also has different sacrosanct suggestions on how we should get there. If a revolution starts today, the useless leaders dont even need to do anything, the revolutionaries would clash against themselves and self implode. |
winterfell007:Partly funded the project?.... The explanation Fashola gave during the screening was that there was difficulty getting the private investors for the project, so the project is currently fully funded by FG through the NSIA (whatever that is). Too many complicated grammar involved in all these... |
winterfell007:I understand PPP plan for the bridge has been cancelled and the contract renegotiated. The FG now funds it fully; Fashola even made mention of this in his ministerial screening when taking questions just this Monday. |
Dave0116:Well, government policies do change with time. Another government could come in tomorrow and decide to toll the bridge and other new roads/bridges across the country. If the money received from the tolls would actually be used to maintain the roads/bridges to global standards, then tolling shouldn't be a bad idea. But you and I know how Nigerian governments operate, the money realised would certainly be diverted even whilst the roads/bridges degrade without maintenance. |
Dave0116:The tolling was the original idea when the bridge was conceived in 2014. But the current government cancelled the tolling arrangement; the bridge is currently being built by FG alone, no more PPP. |
theenchanter:Hehehe.. haba! You want them to totally block the path of a major flowing river like the Niger? If they block it completely, the flowing water will always find a way to keep flowing till it empties into the Atlantic. The only problem is that the new path which the river river will inevitably create may just go through people's houses and communities; it could swallow entire cities. Meanwhile, boats and ships still need to pass that route. |
Even though we do not practice a proper kind of federalism, the truth is that Nigeria is still a federation whether we agree or not, and governors are mini-emperors, just like the president. Unfortunately, most governors still do not recognize the kind of powers they wield, that's why everyone still sucks up to Abuja. |
