Gandollaar: Didn't government officials appointmented by Trump disagree openly with him? The book of wisdom says "there's a time for everything under the sun; a time to sleep and a time to rise... a time to speak and a time to be silent."
Amaechi is an employee of the govt; you and I know very well that this is Nigeria, not the US. And under the peculiar Nigerian context, publicly attacking his boss would absolutely not solve anything or have any positive impact whatsoever on the lingering herdsmen crisis. Rather it would only earn him political crucifixion. You and I already know this but you desperately want him to speak up so he would be pulled down so you can revel at the downfall of one of your enemies. But unfortunately for some of you folks, Amaechi isnt a foolish man not to know this; foolishness didnt get him to the level he is today. |

OneTemplate: Why are some of you so unreasonable? It is like many of you have never had a responsible job or position in your life. How can you be in a government and be openly rebellious against it?
Can you be critical of your boss and his company daily and still be drawing salary from him monthly?
I see a lot of Nigerians making this demand on the likes of Osinbajo, Amaechi etal without them realizing they are just being as lawless as the rest of our society.
Anyone who remains part of the PMB government cannot attack it. They must resign first to be able to do that. This is common sense! but you cant exactly expect sound reasoning from people who are angry, or have been blinded by hatred. There are thousands of other notable persons who are better placed to speak freely about the current crisis in Nigeria; the only people losing sleep over Amaechi not talking are his sworn enemies who are simply desperate to see him mauled. |

Toks2008: The word Silhouette means the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible in restricted light against a brighter background.
Recently the trend has been on Tik Tok and many ladies and even some men have taken part in the challenge but the reason I'm writing this is to show my disdain at the unnecessary hype it is getting with the rate Nigerians have condemned it and I began to wonder at the level of misplaced priority. Is it a shadow body image that is now our priority when there are more issues of serious concern.
Out of curiosity I went on TikTok to see and I was even more confused cos all I saw was 99.9% of ladies and men showing a shadow figure of their body in their underwear and not actually naked so why is this an issue if anyone decides to display a shadow image of his or her body?...and even if they are totally nude, I still wonder how a nude shadow should be given any hype when we see semi nude ladies in broad day light every single day. ladies and guys go to beaches and swimming pools almost naked so is it a dark image of a body that is now a problem?
I am not in support of nudity in any form but I don't think it is worth the hype they are giving to it ...There are more important issues to deal with than hyping a mere online challenge that will soon be forgotten. God bless you for this! With the needless misplaced uproar over the trend, I've had to go online several times to search for the so called videos eliciting so much condemnation from moralists. On repeat occasions, I found absolutely nothing unusual so I still can't place my head around the uproar. |

Let her returned to those seven labs and run the test again and let's hear what the result will be.
How come she believes just one test that she's AS.
Paternity test or ..
I don't have anything to say There're holes in the story; I don't think anyone would really go out to do genotype or any other med lab test 7 times, except of course, some of the results didnt give her exactly what she wanted (i.e. some must have shown AS). The most anyone would do is twice; first one to know her genotype and second just before marriage to confirm. I think the real reason she's done it so many times is cos probably 5 out of those 7 times, the result was AS, so she kept going back hoping (and praying in faith) that the AS results were lab mistakes. |

To the crux of the matter, nobody goes out to do confirmatory genotype test 7 times; the most anyone would do is twice. She carries out the first and sees AA, then just before marriage she conducts another test just for confirmation. The only reason she's done it so many times is cos probably 5 out of those 7 times, the result was AS, so she kept going back hoping (and praying in faith) that the AS results were lab mistakes. |

Unless truncated, Irabor is hardly Igbo. Any fool from my village would have worn an Igbo name as his\her surname. Firstly, the man's name is Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor, and his official military name tag bears his initials + surname, i.e. 'LEO Irabor' (this is standard practice in most militaries around the world). But here we are, you claim the man is a 'FOOL' because he bears his English name instead of his native Igbo names? Or maybe he's a FOOL because he didn't change his surname to something that sounds more Igbo in your ears.... Wow wow wow!!! Why can the SE not give the ESN some form of legal backing like was done for amotekun? Despite the opposition of the north to amotekun, the Fulani FG hasn't been able to send soldiers or policemen to go fight amotekun because of that little legal backing. But see whats happening in Orlu; unprovoked and needless bloodshed recently and one wonders if we dont have state assemblies in the SE. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Intellectuals In Nairaland, This Is For You. Let Us Think by obailala(m): 8:55am On Jan 28, 2021 |
awgumayor: The legitimate security outfit backed by law is there yet, your governor and Sunday Igboho were giving quit notice. Why are they giving herdsmen quit notice if your legally backed Amotekun is living to their expectations? You have security but you cannot sleep with eye closed. We celebrate an illegitimate armed group because they are doing a legitimate thing that their people want.
The difference between Amotekun and ESN. Amotekun was formed to checkmate the activities of Fulani herdsmen who have deeply rooted and mixed with the people of south west. They are there to treat the wound and not to heal it. But ESN is here to heal the wound forever. There are here to tell the Fulani herdsmen that they have no place in Igboland, they are here to tell the Fulani that Biafran land is not Nigerian land they claim to own, they are here to tell the Fulani that there can never be Igbo Fulani or Niger Delta Fulani as said by former Bauchi state governor that " a Fulani who lives in the Niger Delta and speaks Niger Delta language is Niger Delta Fulani ", they are here to tell the Fulani that Igboland can not be under Fulani occupation unlike Yoruba land. ESN are not answerable to any useless law or any useless Igbo leader or leaders, they are answerable to the people. They have the legal backing of the people.
ESN will heal the wound of Fulani forever in our land. God bless ESN, God bless Ipob, God bless MNK, God bless Biafra. Whether Amotekun is living up to expectation or not isnt the issue, the keypoint to note is that they're backed by law, and because it is backed by law, the Fulani controlled FG cant easily tag them a 'militia' and send the military after them as was the case in Orlu where there was unnecessary bloodshed recently. Do you realise that even with the massive opposition of the north against Amotekun, the FG hasnt been able to send any soldier or police against them simply because they were smart enough to back it up by law? The message I (and I believe the Op) tried to pass is this; do we not have state assemblies and governors in the SE?.... If we say ESN is 'efficient' and can heal the wound, what is wrong in making it legal, instead of leaving it with the current'militia' tag? Do you know the level of needless bloodshed that 'militia' tag will attract to the SE in the coming years? |
Politics › Re: Igbo Intellectuals In Nairaland, This Is For You. Let Us Think by obailala(m): 2:16am On Jan 28, 2021 |
The main point made by the Op is that the SW has formed a legitimate security network backed by law, but the SE seems to be celebrating an illegitimate armed group which can easily be tagged an ethnic militia.
There's a clear difference between what the SW has formed in preparation for a Fulani invasion, and what has been formed in the SE. Obviously, the same level of reasoning that formed ESN without considering going through state assemblies is the same level of reasoning that populates this thread. So the Op shouldnt be surprised at the responses in the thread so far. |

How exactly does disintegration help the tribes of the north and middle belt that have been invaded and are being pummelled daily by the Fulani marauders? The moment Nigeria disintegrates, the Fulanis would annihilate the entire indigenous tribes in the north and middle belt; the lucky survivors would run down south as refugees... I dont exactly see how that works as a SOLUTION to the Fulani conundrum. |

Politics › Re: Dear Igbos, If Nzeogwu was Igbo Then Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor Is Igbo by obailala(m): 3:00pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
pazienza: Stop posting nonsense. No Igbo man denied Irabor. Nnia Nwodo don't speak for Ndiigbo. [s] If anything it's Nigerians that play funny games with Igbos in Delta and Edo. They become Igbo when convenient for them and non Igbo when its not. The man who named his dog after Buhari and was arrested was an Igbo man from Anioma, same Igbo town in Delta that some mischievous Yorubas claim is Yorubaland, but it was Ndiigbo that were bashed for the man's actions. No one from Niger delta, Delta state or Edo state came out to claim the man. All news agencies called him Igbo man and Ndiigbo bore the brunt of his actions. https://www.nairaland.com/3293032/trader-arrested-naming-dog-buhari Nzeogwu is from Anioma too. No Edo man will agree for Nzeogwu coup to be called Edo coup, no Niger Delta will agree for it to be called Niger Delta coup. They all agree that Nzeogwu and his Anioma people are Igbos just because his actions have negative connotations. Ndiigbo never denied Nzeogwu or his people for once.
When an Anioma person is in the news for good things, Nigerians(Edo, minorities in Delta) will jump out and tell Ndiigbo that Anioma is not Igbo. If an Anioma person is in the news for bad things, these same lots will quickly label them Igbos and bash Ndiigbo.
When Ojukwu appointed Dr Okonkwo as the Governor of Benin Republic, the Minorities there especially the Edos opposed it strongly and accused Ojukwu of trying to enthrone Igbo hegemony on them. But Dr Okonkwo was from Anioma, the same people Edo people tell us are Edo descendants when it's convenient for them to do so. Who is deceiving who?[/s] Huh? What sort of deluded nonsense are you saying? That No Igbo man denied Irabor directly or indirectly? Are you saying Nnia Nwodo is the only one who made those statements? Is that exactly what you're saying? Are you sure you're okay or are you blind? or you're just forcefully feigning ignorance just to pass a message across? I'm sorry I don't subscribe to your brand of self deceit; stopping smoking that thing you're smoking. If you go online on this forum, on facebook, instagram etc., there are thousands of comments from both Igbos and even sympathetic non-Igbos, echoing the same sentiments as Nnia Nwodo. Those misguided statements is exactly what I was addressing in my last comment; if you choose to feign blindness and ignorance to what's very obvious, then that's your damn business. gidgiddy: The controversy here is that his surname is not Igbo, but Edo. Also, he is from Agbor, which has border with Edo state. He could easily be from a border community in Agbor, with an Edo father and Ika mother. Not all Ika's are Igboid, some are edoid. But it is always the surname that determines which is which. Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea Irabor; sure his surname sounds much like an Edo name, I was shocked to discover he was even Deltan. But, then, his two middle names sound Igbo... The point I tried to make is that none of the people inferring he isn't Igbo have bothered to even do these checks you talk about...
