Hey people,

I had my baby a few months ago and came back with so much baby milk as I didn’t want to buy at the outrageous prices here. However, I’ve recently switched my baby to Aptamil. I have loads of similac for sale at a giveaway price. It’s the 30oz (873g)tins and I have about 20. Pls just make me a reasonable offer. I’m in Abuja but I don’t mind sending it down anywhere.

This thread is indeed a goldmine.tanx to all dos who post transcripts n answer questions.
I have been a silent follower since 2016 n I birthed my son same year with great info from this thread.
Fast forward to 2017 i did dropbox for my visa n was called for 221g interview... I ran back to this thread my starting point and read page by page from my last read n it prepared me for my 221g interview which was a walk over though my visa was held for administrative processing but picked up after a week. Guess they needed to verify my accounts.
Then to 2018...my second missionary journey is a wrap big tanks to @domrita for putting me through getting naija passport in the United States and@ozymes for his great help when the naija embassy in the US was not forthcoming.
Oga Ozymes.. God bless u. Indeed u make me believe good n helpful people still exist in Naija.

God bless us all n Goodluck to those in the process.

Yes. A letter of appointment was sent stating the Doc but I have no idea if you can change your Doc
Tahtianah:
@ozymes
Pls, did DW get to know whom her docs wld be while still here or after her first appointment with doctores? And was she given the option of changing docs if the one given to her wasn't to her liking? I apologize for the many questions

Yes, we intend to stay with them.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 5:15am On May 30, 2018
Do you intend to stay with them?
Leomichael:
Thanks a lot. Just one more thing. Is it safe to declare you have any other relative in the US while filling the form even if you plan to stay with them?

I will go with an active hotel reservation

Gtbank Naira Master cards work on POS with provisions to insert but not by swiping. Though, I was surprised on two occasions when the swiping worked on the southwestern airline POS while paying for excess luggage at Dallas Lovefield Airport on our way to El Paso TX
Coh15:
Good morning house
Please a quick question.
Does Nigeria Bank debit card work in the USA?
What bank ?

Thank you as you respond
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 5:50pm On May 25, 2018
Lol. Chief! I want to assume that you are new here.
sevule:
I was shocked that you paid $8,609 for a C-Section. My wife just gave birth via C-Section and the total bill was approximately $46,000. However since I have health insurance, I only paid $1,000 out of pocket, and the rest was covered by insurance.

The American Health system is truly a strange one!

Have you sorted it now?
CanadianCherie:
Hello Nairalanders,

Please I need help with these visa on arrival people.Sent the mail over 3weeks back and got the ‘received’ mail back and nothing else! I kept sending reminders and they even replied at a point that they have received my mails severally but they are yet to send me the confirmation to proceed and I only have a few days left! Can I go ahead with the received mail or what else can one do?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 4:23pm On May 21, 2018
When are you leaving?
Ojugunrege:
hello house,
please how exactly does this visa on arrival application work?

I sent the application with all the required attachments within the last 24 hours & I am yet to get any mail. not even the 'received' mail. I thought that was like an autoreply acknowledging receipt of my application?

for the approval letter, when will that arrive?
I'm getting quite edgy 'cos I do not have time again. Someone please help!!!
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 11:55pm On May 18, 2018
Through Doctores
Iyaboonibipe:
Did u use del sol med center or used them through doctores para ti
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 11:09pm On May 18, 2018
Comprehensive bill was provided by Doctores Para Ti before we travelled.
Hospital package: $2,700(VD without complications)-This payment includes epidural of $500 which is refundable if not used
Doctor package:$2,500(VD without complication)
Paediatrician package:$250 to be paid after delivery and on subsequent visits to the paediatrician, it cost $150 without circumcision.
Go with all your previous hospital tests typed and signed to avoid a repeat of the tests in the US; not handwritten tests, they are not accepted.
Your first doctor visit will require you to pay $45 for a compulsory test if your action is VD(Vaginal Delivery) and you are entitled to free transportation on first Doctor's visit.
That is about it.
Iyaboonibipe:
Pls I'll like to have a breakdown of the bills from del sol and providence. Can I send u a mail. Pls need the info urgently.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes:
Del Sol Medical Hospital, El Paso TX and Sierra Providence Hospital, El Paso TX. But we used Del Sol. No silent charges, but second baby visit and circumcision to Dr Akin cost $250.
Tahtianah:
Thank u. Pls what hospital are both docs affiliated with? And were there other charges asides those listed in their site?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 9:50am On May 18, 2018
Absolutely! You can say that again about the billing and weather!
temi05:
I came into Elpaso two days ago for my second missionary journey in the US through Doctorparati. Had my first appointment with Dr Marticone yesterday . All went well .

Like Elpaso cause of the weather and the straight forward billing.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 9:44am On May 18, 2018
Yep! DW used them Dec'17 to Jan'18 and we used Dr. Suarez as main Doc while baby Doc was Dr. Akin
Tahtianah:
Hello everyone,
Pls anyone used Doctores para ti recently? Or any doctor in El Paso? Any info wld be most appreciated

Yes.You can pay for work-in appointment with your naira mastercard at TLS office

Hi guys,
I gave birth last year March in Chicago, I used John stroger cook county hospital, my visa expired that same March while in the US, I missed the drop box so I and my husband decided to book appointment for interview. We had our interview may 7.
Meanwhile I am pregnant but we have been using B1/B2 visa, and that's what we applied for again.
After collecting our passports, the visa officer just asked my hubby what does he do, he said he was an engineer, he also asked me same question, I said I m a home maker. He said you had your baby there last yr, I said yes, he asked what date I told him he also asked if I was pregnant and I said yes, he went further to ask if I would like to give birth in the states. I said yes, he asked how long will I stay if I go, I said 2months.He said OK and just handed over the white paper to us to pick up our visa. We did not spend more than a minute with Him. We were so happy, that same day the rate of denials was so high, but God favoured us. Pls any Chicago mum in the house that has information on accommodation, I will appreciate your help, I will be in Chicago August 2.still planning to use John stroger. Thanks all and wish everyone good luck.

I have learnt a lot from this group and I really appreciate. I had my interview on the 30th of April 8:30am with my wife and infant son
VO : goodmorning
Me : goodmorning
VO : passport please.
Me: I gave all three passports
VO : Where and why are u guys going to the US
Me: Houston and we going for childbirth
VO : started flipping through the pages of our passport and was typin. I was quiet for like 30secs and a thought came dat I should keeping talking
VO : where do u work
Me: I work at bleep
VO: what's your job description
Me : I started explaining what I do at work
VO : he started asking me questions based on the work terminologies I was using and I answered all. He even asked me a question that is out of my job description which I also answered.
VO: he turned to my wife and ask madam what do u do?
Wife : Am a 400level nursing student of bleep university
VO : is the infant u carrying ur first baby
Wife : hes my first and expecting the second
VO : He turned to me again requesting for my email correspondence and statement of account and appointment letter from the hospital which I gave him all. His focus was on the account statement. He asked questions on some bulk transactions. I also presented a US dollar account of 18k to him which he took his time to look and ask several questions and I answered all. His main focus was to know if I truly work where I claimed I am working
VO later added our 3 passport to the 3 he was having and told us congratulations and we can pick up our visa in 3 workings days.
Me and I : thank you sir

For me, their major focus is on statement of account, prove to them u really work where u are working though I, my wife and baby has been to France last year November and we came back from South Africa 2 weeks to our interview date which d VO saw on our passport though he went ahead to ask us where we have been to which we told him.

I wish you all the best.

Can I also change my hospital to newyork since I stated in my application am going to Houston for childbirth. Won't there be plenty questions and issues that may lead to deportation at Newyork POE? I really love New York cos that's where plenty of my guys are
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by ozymes: 11:43am On May 04, 2018
Bravo!
Mamaiyanu:
My dear nairalanders,
I applied for my first us visa in 2014 to have my first child. Denied.
Applied to have my second child this year in March (posted the transcript earlier). Denied again

So I decided to apply again for the visa. I took time to fill my ds-160. In the space where they asked have you been denied a us visa before. I said Yes, and explained several reasons to contradict why I thought I was denied. In the space for employment, I also described what I do in my company with plenty story .

Lagos dates were not looking favourable so I decided to pick Abuja.

On top visa only God knows how much I have spent. Visa fee twice, flight ticket to Abuja, hotel in Abuja, taxi to move around. It is well.

My interview was scheduled for 7:30 am this morning. I'm sure my burden of proof was more than Phemas own sef.

There were 3 ladies and a guy doing interviews. The three ladies were more thorough, asking plenty questions and requesting for documents. The guy on the other hand was sharp sharp. Denying people like water in less than a minute. I was just praying to God that I should not go to the guy. Alas it was my turn and I was asked to go to him. I just braced myself and said babe let's do this.

Vo: pass me your passport please
Me: hands it over

Vo: How are you doing today?
Me: Very well thank you

Vo: I see you're going to Richmond Texas, when is your exact due date
Me: (Said the month and day). I'm currently 6 months pregnant

Vo: You work at Bleep? (I guess he Saw that on my ds-160)
Me: Yes I do. I am a manager in the Bleep dept

Vo: How much do you earn per month?
Me: I earn Bleep on the average although it varies monthly. So Bleep is just an average

Vo: where does your husband work?
Me: He works in Bleep as an Bleep. Also explained his job role briefly.

Vo: How long has been working there?
Me: 6 years. He started working there in 2012

Vo: How much does he earn?
Me: He earns about xx annually, in addition to a yearly bonus of Bleep per annum. So on the average he earns Bleep (which was not accurate. My maths skills suddenly failed me, and I stammered)

Vo: Does your husband have a us visa?
Me: No he doesn't

Vo: I see you were here in March. What has changed since that time?
Me: I believe I did not present my financial situation properly. I have a mutual funds which has now matured and has been transferred to my account. I have access to the funds now. I also brought a 3 month bank statement the last time but now I have a 6 month bank statement which further shows my financial situation.

Vo: How long are you staying in the US?
Me: two months. I intend to travel at the end of June and be back by the end of August

Vo: do you have a child?
Me: Yes I have a son

Vo: How old is He?
Me: He's 3 years old

Vo: Thank you ma'am for attending this interview with the us embassy
Me: (At this point I was already scared cos that's the tone he used to reject all the others) Your visa has been approved!

I didn't hear a word of what he said after that. I don't even know how my legs carried me out of that place

No single document checked! I just thank God for favor. I've been praying and believing God since I applied, thank God he came through for me

My advice of course would be to pray very well and believe God. Cos sometimes it's not about the truckload of documents you bring.
Also be smart. Prayer can't do everything. We are very religious in this country and believe only prayer would solve everything. Prayer just helps after you have done the necessary things in the natural.

Dress well. It boosts your confidence. I fixed human hair, did makeup wore a jacket and heels. One woman even said ahn ahn , sexy pregnant woman.

Also take charge of the interview. If he asks a question, give him more details than what was asked. Don't just stand there giving one liners and waiting for the questions to be asked. Their default predisposition is to reject you, so you need to give them a reason to give you the visa by showing you know what you are saying.

All the best to future applicants!

The answer to question1 is yes. The answer to question2 is: The parent who is applying should sign and also put his naija contact phone below the signature. In our case, I applied for DW when I arrived Naija and signed
Ojugunrege:
please,

1. is this the correct email address to send the application to: oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng?

2 do both parents need to sign the application or one parent suffice?

A formal application signed and scan with required documents and e-mailed as attachments
1. DW and DH Naija passport data page.
2. LO Yankee data page
3. LO Yankee BC
The letter should specify/indicate passport numbers, expected date of arrival, expected Naija POE, Country of departure, Residential address in Naija.etc

Spatz81:
Oh cool...thank you very much. Does the application have a particular format ie. Microsoft word or normal email ?

If a proper application on MS Word is required, do both parents need to sign it?

Thank you.
