senarii: I agree with you. And as I heard the poster mentioning... Wordpress... I knew he is a new generation developer. quote author=okeyxyz]@OP obviously knows nothing about the industry or art of web-developing. He simply makes a list of his fantasies, and then declares them to be achievements/standards by which web developers are measured. Also all the people who have praised this list so far have no idea what web developing is about. There are thousands of accomplished and prospering web-developers who have no interest(yes, they are interests, not skills) in any of the items mentioned in this funny list.Thanks. When most young developers get to the field. They will experience what I call a realignment of priorities. The OP still seem to be clinging to 'schoolboy ideals' |
Ishi, please can you pay her a visit on behalf of nairaland and let's know how it turns out with your beau . . . ![]() E.g. eat her chiken and then go home and give bf a dirty slap....then come back and let's know how it worked out (or didn't) |
How sure are we that the story is true ? I've been in Jos for close to a decade but never heard of Chiwana Hotel or Zinaria layout !! |
PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THE POSTER, IT MIGHT RUIN YOU Don't throw away old magazines ! - they are invaluable source of information. Do you know how much the original of the first copy of superman comic book sold last year as a collector's item. did you know that Halex Haley relied a lot on old preserved documents to write the blockbuster 'ROOTS'. With advices like these future generations will have no link with their past. Never Throw away Receipts ! One or two files are enough to store them safely - You never know when you might need them. A lot of ppl have gotten into trouble because they could not provide evidence of certain transactions they made Who throws away books ? BOOKS ? I once spent some months with one of my uncle as a teenager, and all I did during that period was read the literature books his wife had carefully stored away. It was a period of great intellectual leap for me, my diction improved and even my level of thinkin. If possible , don't throw away clothes, bags, jewelry - give them out. There's likely going to be someone who will see them valuable out there. |
justhelp:Buddha once said There are these four ways of answering questions. Which four? 1. There are questions that should be answered categorically [straightforwardly yes, no, this, that]. 2. There are questions that should be answered with an analytical (qualified) answer [defining or redefining the terms]. 3. There are questions that should be answered with a counter-question. 4. There are questions that should be put aside. These are the four ways of answering questions. I first thought your questions belong to category 3 but upon closer reflection, I realized that they were actually in category four |
At the risk of sounding superstitious, I think we need to start wondering what exactly is causing the members of the famous USA 94 Nigerian team to die at an early age. The team, perhaps the most talented squad ever assembled by an african side, has lost 3 prominent members in their forties. and many will recollect that keeper Rufai fainted and was almost at the point of death before being resuscitated in a hospital sometimes last year. This is a statistical oddity. For the superstitious, there is actually more information to make you worried about the link between this team and DEATH..... * First, the building of the 94 team began with the the hiring of coach Clemens Westerhoof. And guess what happened on the day of Westerhoof's first assignment with the eagles (as an observer in the world cup qualifying game against Angola) ? Sammy Okwaraji slumped and died on the pitch. * The emergence of the team as a force in african soccer coincided with the world cup qualifying series in 1993 - guess what happened then ? The entire Zambian team crashed on their way to honour a world cup qualifier of the coast of Gabon - Deat again (iwanyanwu National also lost two players, one benin boy and their reserve goalkeeper, to a plan crash during that period) * The legacy of the team was established after winning the 1994 nations cup. No prize for guessing who they beat in the final - Zambia - A team mourning the death of their fallen colleagues. * USA '94 was their shining moment, death did not forget to show his face, that was the only time I ever heard of a player participating at the world cup dying before the close of the tournament - We're talking about Andre Escobar. * The team signed of in 95 (to be replaced by the atlanta 96 team), that year, in an unprecedented wave, we lost Amir Angwe (who slumped on the pitch) and Igheniwari George (Finidi's younger brother, who was short after a challenge cup match in Ibadan). STARNGE THINGS !!! |
maclatunji: Await her side of the story soon. Whether innocent or guilty, this story is sad.Wise and measured response |
If this is Michael Jackson's daughter, then am GEJ's son !! |
I think our soldiers should be wary of all these small boys ostensibly selling petty stuffs at check points. Some of them are effectively moles for bokson ramson |
Onyegecha: I was shocked to learn that palm oil sold in our markets is heavily adulterated with some reddish substances.Saw dust mixed with gari ? You want to kill half of nairaland |
Blackteeth: These days every Nigerian artiste sounds alike. In those days each artiste gave you a different flavour and feeling. So so true, You're a wise man it all started with the death of bands. Fruity loops will always sound like Fruity loops |
Am sorry I might sound harsh but truth must be told . . . . . I don't know why in this side of the world we support mediocrity but then bristle at its consequences. The guy said his department is sensitive to the health of the organization and you guys here are supporting he keeps an incompetent team member just because of sentiments. My dear friend, that is the begining of the end....... The RIGHT thing to do is, act as if it were your own company and your livelihood depends on the success of your department. or are you in Nigerian civil service (where the rules of employment and productivity seems to be quite different). More often than not, a staff is unusable not because of his aptitude and (lack of) skills but ATTITUDE meaning people who are useless in one department will more often than not be useless in others. We all have our core competencies no doubt, but if you experiment by moving a very productive staff from one department to another random dept, you'll be surprised that he will still emerge a high performer in his new position regardless (even though he might not be as effective as previously). The question is, if every supervisor and dept head indulges unprofessional staff, what will become of the company ? Nigerians can be so 'foolish' (pardon my expression). We are ready to risk the success of the organization to satisfy petty sentiments yet if the company starts going down tommorow and you read in the papers that XYZ bank has sacked 2000 staff, we'll be the first to shout 'this is wicked'. Without knowing that the 'wickedness' started from our table by not doing the right thing. I am not against being patience, I am not against motivation or second chances but all I am saying is , after all said and done, when you've carried out your assessment as a leader, just make sure you do the right thing, even though it looks harsh. |
Nice One. Though I don't have the full list of awards. But I feel Lagbaja, Shina Peters and the Remedies should have had ashout in there for the 90's |

calculusx: This came at the right time. I got a job for a close pal and i was surprised he turned down the offer saying he can't manage 50k job for a start. 4yrs now he is still unemployed. Will i call it laziness? We should not blame govt for everything, there are menial jobs that can fetch people 40k monthly without much stress but no one is ready to do it.Wait a minute calculux, are you me ? Exactly same scenario, I got a job for a friend five years for 50k for a start. He rejected it, still unemployed as we speak |

It is said that the cops are trying to find out if there is a link between the french case and british occurrence involving two Nigerian born Michaels. I say they don't need to search too far. |
What the heck is happening ? Now the world has another reason to be wary of young men from Africa (sighs) http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/05/25/us-france-stabbing-idUSBRE94O09420130525 (Reuters) - A French soldier patrolling a business neighborhood west of Paris was stabbed in the neck and injured on Saturday by a man who fled the scene and is being sought by police, President Francois Hollande said. The 23-year-old was patrolling in uniform with two other soldiers as part of France's Vigipirate anti-terror surveillance plan when he was approached from behind around 6 p.m. and attacked with a knife or a box-cutter. A police union spokesman said surveillance footage of the attacker showed him as tall and bearded, aged about 35, possibly of North African origin and wearing a white Arab-style tunic. Hollande, in the Ethiopian city of Addis Ababa, commented on the stabbing to say police were hunting for the attacker but did not provide any details about his identity or any possible motivation for the attack. "We still don't know the exact circumstances of the attack or the identity of the attacker, but we are exploring all options," Hollande told journalists. Three days after a British soldier was killed in a London street by two men who said they acted to avenge violence against Muslims, the attack near Paris raised questions about a possible copycat attempt to kill a French soldier. Interior Minister Manuel Valls noted the similarity in an interview on France 2 TV saying the attacker was clearly trying to murder his victim, but he added that it was too early to offer any theories. "Let's be prudent for now," Valls said of the attacker's identity and motivations. "Everything is being done to arrest this individual." Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told journalists near the site of the attack: "The soldier was attacked because he is a soldier." "LOST A LOT OF BLOOD" Pierre-Andre Peyvel, police prefect for the Hauts-de-Seine area west of Paris, said the soldier had lost a considerable amount of blood but would survive, and was being treated in a nearby military hospital. He was not named. Witnesses near the commuter train station where the attack occurred gave conflicting descriptions of the fleeing suspect. One asserted on TV that he saw two men fleeing, while another said the scene was too confused to tell. Peyvel declined to confirm or deny any description and said further details would be forthcoming. A source said police would broadcast the man's likeness if no arrest was made soon. France is on high alert for attacks by Islamist militants following its military intervention in Mali in January, which prompted threats against French interests from AQIM, the North African wing of al Qaeda. The latest warning was published on YouTube a few weeks before armed gunmen this week attacked a military base and a French uranium extraction site in the central African state of Niger, killing 24 soldiers and one civilian. Valls said France would retain its current terror alert level at "red, reinforced", one step down from "scarlet", which is only activated in case of a serious and confirmed attack. |
Billyonaire: Governor's Forum whether Nothern Governors Forum, or PDP Governors Forum should be abrogated by the Senate. What was supposed to be a Peer Review Mechanism has radically been turned to an opposing political structure. As for Amaechi, he needs to be careful, cos its not yet Uhuru. obailala: I'm a bit lost in this whole NGF chairmanship brouhaha. Please can someone who is knowledgeable in these things be kind enough to explain what the position of the 'chairman of NGF' is really all about?God bless these two posters, now I can go to bed. The fact that there is a tussle for the position of chairmanship of the NGF shows that the initial goals have been defeated and the forum should be scrapped. |
zeefever: In a few years time, the girl may get a gun,go to a school & start shooting everyone because of what her mum did.A lot of these children need to see child psychologists.funny but somehow feel there might be an iota of truth in what you said, her actions might just be symptoms of bigger and more dangerous traits simmering underneath. but my first grouse is with the girl(or her parents/teachers) who didn't want to come to school cos she was teased, I think children should be taught to grow some skin, develop self esteem. These are the kind of kids later in life that might consider suicide when things get tough (as they will surely be at some point) or maybe when an online lover taunts them. |
ogugua88: Any road can receive attention. However, if the job isn't being done right, then there's no point in doing it at all. Anyone can patch a hole in the road and say it's no longer a death trap. Yes, for the time being. Don't be surprised when these roads fall apart within two years again, due to thin cement and lack of soil tests. Because of the kind of rain and heavy traffic Nigerian roads face, especially in the south, the layer of cement shouldn't be any thinner than 10 inches, and that's being lenient.God bless Ogugua. and to answer the guy who asked about bad roads, try Yola - Gombe for a start. I couldn't drive at faster than 40km/hr for more than half the trip last week when I plied the road |
dearestsewa: Thanks guys. I accepted what I was offered. It's small bt it's beta dan begging 4money frm pple or sitting at home etc. There's dignity in labour. A friend also encouraged me sayn it's far more dan what she startd wt. It's jst a step to greater thns. Thanks guys.Good that you accepted it. Regardless of what people say and your current condition, your first job should not just be about money but you also have to consider your career path, experience and knowledge you'll garner, the ethics of the company and the impact of working for that organisation on your CV. By the way, I earned 50K on my first employment, Some seven years ago and I don't regret it one bit. |
nep2ra: Are you new to the hypocrisy of most Nigerians? Its not about hypocrisy, its about the fact that we live in an 'over-sexualized' society. And every thing we do passes a message one way or the other. Am not being preachy here cos I aint perfect and can't condemn her cos I don't even know who she is. She sorts of looks decent facially (somehow, can't explain), I would rather she did not pose half unclad, young people, young women need role models. People who will make them understand that being a successful women aint just about breast, bum and skin but about values, character and quality. Whatever rocks her boat, its just that nudity is now 2 for 5 kobo ! |
There's something about the little chap in green in the second picture that brings the word 'notorious' (or better still mischievous) to my head. If I am to make a vote for which among them will likely take after 'abami eda' himself, he'll be my pick |
Vado: This rating cracks me up cos i don't know the kind of jobs they are talking about here that puts Kwara in 2nd lowest. A quarter of the ilorin population is at Saraki/Government house begging for Eba wraps and #200 so where are the so-called job?Seconded, the author of this report compiled it probably after a night of heavy drinking. Some of the percentages mentioned for some of the states are bare faced untruths. |
I don't know bout oyes or osun state. All I know is that the report seems fishy and lacks credibility. How do they come about these figures ? By interviewing on the streets or by counting the number of shops and businesses? Anybody that can boldly say Plateau state has (or once had) the third lowest unemployment rate is surely high on some cheap stuff. A state where youths sit by the roadside in the morning, staring blankly due to hangover from previous nite.... If the unemployment rate in plateau state is 11.7, was it the national bureau of statistics that provided jobs for the remaining 88% ? I can tell you that based on what we see on ground, unemployment rates in plateau state will not be less than 40 or 50%. |
WIndows8, you're intelligent. Federer was actually born in the swiss city of Basel . . . . .He went to support his hometown club |
Misunderstood_G: Oruma- 36 years old. retired 2 years, nine months, 18 days, 6 hours agoMisunderstood_G: You are a genius. BTW, see as 31,32 year olds dey clubless while 37-40 year old, Ryan Giggs, Zannetti et al are still waxing strong |
The world gets weirder everyday. Check out this unbelievable story. 1. A 20 yr old french third division footballer - Ousmane Dramé solicited the services of a Nigerian lady of the night in italy. 2. After the 'do', he realised he didn't have enough money to pay ! 3. Foolish guy promised to give his Iphone instead (Iphone5 for that matter, some men can be crazy !) 4. The guy now plans an escape, but first, he steals the LovePeddler's purse !. 5. and makes away on a bicycle ! 6. but is caught by a 'transvestite' who scuffles with him and overpowers him. DAMN !!!! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/player-tries-pay-prostitute-iphone-steals-her-purse-224837188.html;_ylt=AlapxPWjXuUAlTcBSg.JwyZYkcAF;_ylu=X3oDMTQ5OHYyNmloBG1pdANMYXRlc3QgQmxvZyBQb3N0cwRwa2cDZWI1ZDNiYTYtOWZjOC0zNWYzLTkxOGItYjAzMDFhZjI3NmJlBHBvcwM1BHNlYwNNZWRpYUJMaXN0TWl4ZWRMUENBVGVtcAR2ZXIDMjM4ODhiMTAtYWQzMS0xMWUyLWI2NWYtNjk4NjZjYWNhMDQw;_ylg=X3oDMTFkajQyMG9pBGludGwDZ2IEbGFuZwNlbi1nYgRwc3RhaWQDBHBzdGNhdANob21lBHB0A3BtaA--;_ylv=3 |
