PoliticsRe: What Has Jonathan Achieved Since He Came Into Politics? by PapaBrowne(m): 11:58pm On Jul 20, 2013
Interesting thing about this post is that for a large majority of the things posted, Jonathan has pictures all over the internet to prove his wort. Whether its roads, airports, power stations, universities or the world acclaimed Agricultural transformation, the articles and pictures are scattered everywhere here on Nairaland.

The big question would be. What were all the the previous leaders that ruled this doing that all these works were left undone.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Northern Governors In Closed-door Meeting At Obasanjo’s Residence by PapaBrowne(m): 8:49pm On Jul 20, 2013
Politics at its finest.
The enemies of Jonathan wouldn't find this meeting funny.

When we see that your guy for video dey plank person head, na that time we come know as e be. That your guy, Chidi Lloyd no try at all. The guy has made it easy for then to nail you. We are sorry for leading you astray.

Abeg, go beg Oga for Abuja. No vex.

Mysteries. Genius. Extraordinary abilities.
We as humans underestimate our capacities.
The things we can do if we aren't distract from the seeming realities of our environment can be outstanding.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Disowns Yinka Odumakin - His Spokesman by PapaBrowne(m): 4:36pm On Jul 18, 2013
kingoflag: I dont know if your just ignorant or daft. Re-read your own post and see how you just bounced from wall to wall like a looney in a straight jacket confined to a padded room.

May the hate and tribalism which you breathe and live for eventually consume you.
I usually wouldn't respond to your type. But I'll give you the benefit of doubt...

Hate and Tribalism?? How? Because I mentioned the south west?? Is Odumakin also filled with hate and tribalism against his own tribe? Isn't Tinubu in control of the south west? Isn't Tinubu the biggest of all the political thieves per capita in Nigeria?

Again, notwithstanding Tinubu's ills, I reiterate the fact that I prefer thieves to terrorists. I will choose a Tinubu anyday over a Buhari.
PoliticsRe: Prof Wole Soyinka: An Outstanding Profile Of A Dramatic Genius. by PapaBrowne(m): 2:43pm On Jul 18, 2013
Truth be told, Wole Soyinka was an Icon. He spent years building a reputation. One that would have been the envy of history books.

But just like it took a few minutes to crash the world trad e centre which was built over a period of four years, so has it taken Wole Soyinka to crash a hitherto well earned reputation.

How do you get into a political fight and take sides without getting your details right. The worst thing that happened is that it suddenly appears like Wole Soyinka was supporting Chidi Lloyd murderous actions in the house.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Disowns Yinka Odumakin - His Spokesman by PapaBrowne(m): 2:19pm On Jul 18, 2013
Yinka Odumakin spoke the truth.

Buhari is hungry for power and doesn't want to offend Tinubu..

The same south west politicians who scream "corruption in Abuja" are the same people who consume a chunk of the funds accruing to thier states.
Tinubu is screwing Lagos and other south west states dry and Yinka Odumakin, a fellow opposition politician has spoken as is. 1 Billion Naira per kilometer of intra city roads happens only in the south west.

Notwithstanding, I prefer thieves to terrorists.
Tinubu is a thief.
Buhari is a terrorist.
I will go with Tinubu anyday over Buhari.
PoliticsRe: Attack On Govs: Hold Jonathan Responsible … ACN by PapaBrowne(m): 7:14pm On Jul 17, 2013
And they call him clueless.

If a man can Visit China and hold meetings that result in investments, come back to Nigeria and host heads of states, take daily briefings from security chiefs, meet regularly with the Economic team, meet with numerous top class global business and policy leaders, take all the heat that comes with the office, do all the business deals that are usually done in Aso Rock and still have the time to meet with stone throwers to discuss the visit of four northern governors to Rivers state, then the man must have more than 24 hrs in a day as well as 3 brains to achieve these kind of feat or he must be some kind of genious.

The ACN is just a bunch of sorry losers in my opinion. The president would all the way from Abuja be directing stone throwers in port harcourt.
PoliticsRe: If U Are A Pro-amaechi Supporter Say "I !" , If U Are An Anti-amaechi Say "Nay"! by PapaBrowne(m): 6:53pm On Jul 17, 2013
Wetin concern me with Amaechi.

My Governor(Edo State) is performing just OK and I am good with that.

I visited Port Harcourt last month and I was left wondering what happens to all the billions that accrues to the state.
This crises has shown us where all the money goes. The pockets of Wole Soyinka and the lies.
PoliticsRe: Still On Wole Soyinka-flashback To 2010 Politics by PapaBrowne(m): 11:07pm On Jul 13, 2013
Abagworo: It is none of my business whatever happened in the house but I belong to the class of humans that believe in justice. Soyinka and other detribalized Nigerians fought hard for Jonathan to ascend the Presidency but today many of Jonathan's supporters are making it seem like North and West are against Jonathan.
But why should we decieve ourselves na? Who are the main opposers of Jonathan today. Many of the people you say fought hard for Jonathan during the cabal saga did so because they taught he was weak and wouldn't have the guts to contest afterwards.
PoliticsRe: Still On Wole Soyinka-flashback To 2010 Politics by PapaBrowne(m): 10:37pm On Jul 13, 2013
Abagworo, all this attempt to get Soyinka to help cover up for the brutal attempted murder of a fellow House member in the presence of the Governor wouldn't save nothing. Soyinka or not, a grevious act was committed and we all saw it on camera.

Lets stop all these nonsense propaganda. Its becoming disgusting. The idea is to distract from Amaechi by making it appear like Soyinka and the presidency are fighting.

Soyinka messed up by defending the indefensible. Nobody would watch that video of Amaechi's men trying to kill a fellow house member and lend his very respectable name to that kind of act. In all sincerity, Soyinka didn't watch that video before going to press and he would right now be very ashamed of making the statement he made.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Company Pays Clinton N100m To Speak by PapaBrowne(m): 10:02am On Jul 13, 2013
I don't like the bias these kind of articles carry. So 100 million Nigerians live in poverty, so a businessman who has worked hard and made a fortune for himself should not do as he feels becuase he is a Nigerian.

Please there are millions of homeless people in American. And yes the largest chunk is in New York. New York times should do us a favour and focus thier attention on the homeless people they see with thier eyes everyday before coming here to tell us crap about nigerians living in abject poverty.

PoliticsRe: Michael Chinda Remains Unconscious After Surgery by PapaBrowne(m): 10:02pm On Jul 12, 2013
Very sad. Look at that picture.
To think that Amaechi was present when this happened.
To think that Amaechi's security detail were involved in this.
This is murder. I actually do pity Amaechi right now. He is finished.
If it werent caught on video, it would have been easy to manipulate. Everything was caught on video.

We can call Jonathan's name, we can call patience Jonathan's name if we like. The truth is they were over 10,000 miles away when this happened. While Amaechi was right there watching and cheering on as as his supporters were attempting to murder a fellow lawmaker. The video is there for all to see.

Very sad. I pray the man survives.
PoliticsRe: PHOTONEWS: PDP Staff Sharing Cash Largesse Doled Out By Minister by PapaBrowne(m): 2:37pm On Jul 12, 2013
Saharareporters must assume that Nigerians are foolish people. Or maybe they have seen that many Nigerians are foolish so they continue to inundate us with pathetic lies. What kind of useless journalism is this??

I have long stopped reading that website. The Sowore guy is just pathetic and must be sad and frustrated.
PoliticsRe: Is Amaechi More Powerful Than Jonathan In Nigerian Politics? by PapaBrowne(m): 10:42am On Jul 12, 2013
Abagworo: Amaechi can never be more powerful than Jonathan. Nobody is at the moment. The problem is that Jonathan is not as tactical as OBJ. He makes moves without giving a damn about the feeling of the masses thereby making himself look less intelligent than he actually is. He could have dealt with Amaechi constitutionally but slowly without raising any dusts.
Are you sure about this Abagworo? Take of your bias glasses and ask the same question about Amaechi. Why is Amaechi so bent on fighting this fight. A fight that the end result is obvious. Amaechi reminds me of all those people I see on TV in the Arab world throwing stones at armoured tanks. Its just insane to think he doesn't know the end of this whole drama. Stronger men like Ibori are cooling off in jails in the UK.
PoliticsRe: Is Amaechi More Powerful Than Jonathan In Nigerian Politics? by PapaBrowne(m): 10:39am On Jul 12, 2013
Its this kind of foolish talk that makes the opposition look very petty.

Amaechi is having problems fighting ordinary Minister of State who has plans to be Governor of Rivers State and someone is here asking if Amaechi is stronger than the President. The question should be between Amaechi and Wike who is stronger. And Wike is sure giving Amaechi a hell of punches even in his backyard.
EducationRe: July 10 Cult Attack In OAU, Ile-Ife by PapaBrowne(m): 12:10am On Jul 11, 2013
So all these Nairalanders are Great Ifites!! Interesting!

I had barely spent few months on campus when the cultists struck. I resided at Awo hall.

It was a sad and sorry nite. Very Surreal. The next day felt very eerie.

I left Ife a few days later and Nigeria a few weeks later. Ife never felt the same. I haven't stepped foot on campus since then.

That attack was predicated on an event that happened few weeks before......

I remember one sunday when Afrika and a couple other SUG boys apprehended about six students and brought them to the TV room in Awo hall and gave them the meanest and most viscious beating I have ever witnessed. The boys were bleeding profusely. Planking to the head, boots on the stomach....brutality at its extreme. The beating lasted for over six hours. The boys were said to be cultists. I had never seen such brutality in my life. I felt so sorry for the boys. I didn't feel like that was the right way for the SUG to handle people because they were suspected to be cultists. The funny thing was that they hadn't done anything wrong, they were just suspected cultists. I knew in my heart that day that if these boys are released, they would definitely come back for vengeance. Its like smiting a snake without killing it. Sadly, that is exactly what happened.

Wow. 14 years already. Hmmm. So children born then go do they enter SS1 by now. Time dey fly oh.
PoliticsRe: China Visit: CCECC Pledges 4 Airports In 20 Months by PapaBrowne(m): 12:38pm On Jul 10, 2013
Excellente.

I trust the top quality Chinese companies more than I trust all those western guys.

If you've been to China to see the projects these Chinese companies have executed, you'll be amazed.

The new Beijing Airport, The Beijing Shanghai high speed rail network, The Three Gorges dam and a host of others.

The common denominator amongst most of the projects is record completion time and top notch quality.
PoliticsRe: FG Withholds Edo State Statutory Allocation – Oshiomhole Alleges by PapaBrowne(m): 4:48pm On Jul 07, 2013
I am a big fan of Oshiomole and I'm proud of his works as the Governor of my state.

But what I have to say about this is that isn't it shameless that any state at all should be going to Abuja monthly to get money to develop itself.

The state has loads of resources. Develop those resources.
Land is the biggest resource any state in this country has. Transform that land into economic opportunity.
This beggarly stance for just 1.8 billion(money some Nigerians dey use buy plot of Land for Ikoyi) is an indictment of all that is wrong with Nigeria alias an absence of true federalism.

PoliticsRe: Who Will Tell Channels TV??? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:54pm On Jul 07, 2013
take dat: Do not blame them if they are unaware. The best way to convince Nigerians is for them to see President Jonathan and his ministers travel 32hour, from Lagos to Kano, and another 32 hours back to Lagos in one of those air-conditioned coaches.

You do not expect everyone to fall for it, when government officials avoid it. Has Maku and his team ever gone on a train trip(Lagos-Kano) as part of the good governance tour to showcase it as an achievement of this government? In Nigeria, government will claim they've built world-class facilities(hospitals, schools etc), yet top government officials and their wards don't patronize them.
I am also waiting for the day I will see Fashola take the BRT to work.
I am waiting for him to send his son to LASU.
And also waiting for the day Fashola would be found at any of the Hospitals that he has renovated.

Incase you dont know, some things are built for the benefit of the masses. The congestion that is been reported despite the 32Hrs ride you claim is a sign that those train services are working for a good number of people.

I as a citizen would not frequently use the BRT in Lagos because I can afford better options but anytime I pass the stations I see a long line of people waiting to get on those dinghy buses. It would be foolish for me to suggest that I will see the BRT as a success only when I see Fashola utilizing them. Infact the day Fashola would decide to start using BRT to work is the day Lagos would start a massive decline.

Remeber he was at the IEAE for ages. Asides, he is a liberal compared to Buhari the extremist.

PoliticsRe: If Care’s Not Taken, Nigeria’ll Go The Way Of Egypt, Says Buhari by PapaBrowne(m): 12:06am On Jul 07, 2013
The best way to destroy Buhari is by giving him a microphone.

Just give him a mike a he destroys himself.

Out of the abundance of thy heart the mouth speaketh. The man has done the maths and seen that in a free and fair election he loses hands down and is now wishing for a military take over. Maybe he thinks this is 1983.
