PoliticsRe: GE Breaks Ground For $250m Manufacturing And Assembly Plant In Calabar by PapaBrowne(m): 2:28am On Jun 17, 2013
You guys should stop arguing with all these ACN goons. They have nothing but disdain for any progress made outside of Lagos. I totally understand their feelings. Lagos had been the only toast of the nation for so long. Then Abuja came along and started making Lagos look like a shithole. Now you want small boys like Calabar,Uyo, Warri, Benin, Enugu and Owerri and the likes to do exactly what Abuja did to Lagos?? Afterall Lagos was built on the intelligence and versatility of people from these upcoming cities.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Mother, Abibat Mogaji Is Dead by PapaBrowne(m): 9:21pm On Jun 15, 2013
WOW!! 94 Years!! A beautiful woman. And a graceful one at that. May her soul rest well.
She lived and saw her son grow from grace to grace even though with our collective wealth!
She must have been a proud mother. A warrior too. And she also bore a warrior in Bola. I doff my heart. Only a good mother bears a strong, versatile and great tactician like Bola.

When she gets to the other side, she should please explain that the sins Tinubu is commiting(as in stealing our collective wealth) is for our own good. He will return it when he gets his hands on the bigger one(as in Abuja things). And about stealing from the bigger pot(as in oil things), eeehm ... that one is not exactly a sin.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Releases Fantasy Video Of Lagos by PapaBrowne(m):
@ Video. Excellent excellent excellent.
Its good to present a good image of Lagos.
Its good to make it look like we are making progress.
Hopefully we would be able to attract investments from around the world.

But its better to face realities. And I love Lagos despite these realities.
Lagos is a cesspit and one of the worst human habitations on the face of the planet.
The air is putrid. The drainage smells of sewage. The buses are a box of venomous agony.
The faces of Lagosians....mercy, lord have mercy. Suffering blood shot eyes everywhere.
People are angry, hungry and fiery. 10 million souls grinding through the struggle.
And people happily pay New York prices, for real estate that looks like the Favelas of Rio.

The good news though is that in all of this, there is loads of money to be made in that city.
People literally pick millions on the streets daily.Lots of lots of people. So the rush to the city is an ever ending one despite the struggle and agony, the fetid atmosphere and the Manhattan-ish prices!

Lagos still remains what I think is the greatest land of opportunity on the face of the planet.
PoliticsRe: 65 Years After, Ajimobi Is Dualising Iseyin/oyo Road by PapaBrowne(m): 8:52pm On Jun 11, 2013
Gbawe: My friend take your time ooh !!!! Is it roads the starving people will eat? Some citizens have not eaten for 4 day and Ajimobi is building roads !!! Nonsense.
Wasnt hard for you to do that mock up because it is cultural to your DNA.

Everybody should celebrate progress! Its only bias that would make someone see something that's good and call it bad which you and many of your ilk were doing until the State of Emergency declaration where your master jagaban presented a misfitting essay.

I made a long trip yesterday criss crossing a section of Nigeria and I concluded that progress is finally coming to Nigeria both in PDP and non PDP states. The federal high ways are impressively improved and both PDP and ACN states are beginning to pick up. The reason is that elections now count and if you fail to perform you'll be out. Its good for the country. And its speaks volumes that its all happening under the watch of a man who many have chosen to label clueless.
PoliticsRe: Behold Your Next President By OBJ by PapaBrowne(m): 11:04am On Jun 09, 2013
payless: Nigeria is one of the poorest nation in the world. Saying Jigawa is the poorest state in Nigeria is a stretch because there are other states that are as poor as Jigawa. Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Nasarawa are examples of states that are as poor as Jigawa. How are the so called "rich states" in Nigeria doing?
Nigeria is not one of the poorest nations in the world by any count. No matter what statistics you use, we have long left that designation- poorest nation in the world!
BusinessRe: I Need Advice On Daily Or Weekly Income Business I Can Do With N1.5m by PapaBrowne(m): 10:58am On Jun 09, 2013
My advice anyday is this:

Invest in something that people have a use of continually everyday. And in Nigeria, there are about 4 sectors that we cannot do without and they are Food, Fuel and Telecoms. Now for fuel and telecoms, I'd say "your money no go reach" and the margins are determined in which case You are left with food related business .

With 170 million mouths to feed, you can never go wrong with food.

But before you go into any business, you must consider your skills and passion. Anything you don't have a passion for would hardly fly.

If you must consider food, the area I think would grant you the best returns is in food packaging.

I'll update later.....
PoliticsRe: Dele Momodu: My Candid Take On 2015 by PapaBrowne(m): 10:10am On Jun 09, 2013
Its just funny how opposition members tell us on one hand that the PDP is the problem of Nigeria and on another are3 telling us they thier desire is to field two serving PDP members as their Presidential candidate.

Tambuwal is a PDP member. Amaechi is PDP. What happened to all the opposition figures. Are they not credible enough or are they not national enough?
Science/TechnologyRe: Girl Who Spent Her First Years In The Jungle by PapaBrowne(m): 12:54am On Jun 08, 2013
Wooooow!!Beaurrriful!!

Looking through the pictures, thought gushed through my mind.

How can her parents do that to her. She's gonna miss out on school. She's gonna have a hard time interacting with humans. What kind of bondage is that.

Then it hit me.
It's not she who is in bondage or would miss out on anything. Its city dwellers. We the urbanites who miss out on what nature has to offer. We are victims of CNN and the rest of the media. We

The freedom to be.
The experience of nature.
The thrill of the jungle.
PoliticsRe: NAMA Grounds Oshiomhole’s Chartered Helicopter Over Aerodrome & Landing Fee by PapaBrowne(m): 6:18pm On Jun 07, 2013
If people don't pay their fees, how would the airports be maintainedhuh

Anybody that tries to accuse NAMA for asking that the required fees be paid, should open a shop and ask customers to pay for products after they have used them and found them satisfactory.

No wonder our airports have been a mess for ages. These folks weren't paying their fees.

I am Oshiomole's biggest fan and I don't think he did anything wrong but the pilot should shut up and pay his dues!!
I don't think these Mobile Money Operators did their homework well before rushing to the market. Adoption has been very poor and the service is struggling badly. This service should have been executed through the Mobile Operators; much easier for rollout and operation.
You are absolutely right. Thats why M-pesa has been successful in Kenya.
Here, we have a CBN Governor who wants everything under his control so has refused to allow the telecom guys to operate it.
PoliticsRe: Why Do People From South East Hate Tinubu More Than Those From South-west? by PapaBrowne(m): 3:04pm On Jun 07, 2013
I love Tinubu. I think he is about the smartest politician Nigeria has seen in decades. He is extremely calculative, very suave and knows best when to strike. He lives for himself and would pitch tent with the right camp as soon as all the chips are down.

The people I pity are those who put their trust in him but don't have the right amount to pay for his services.

Ribadu, Buhari and Atiku can attest to his sagacity.

Jonathan on the other hand always has a smile on his face when he sees Tinubu. He knows his price and he can pay.
PoliticsRe: Why Do People From South East Hate Tinubu More Than Those From South-west? by PapaBrowne(m): 1:17pm On Jun 07, 2013
Another tribal thread!!

I don't know if people hate Tinubu. I actually like him very much despite his capacity for kleptomania.
He is a very intelligent and suave politician.

I love what he did in 2011. He conned Ribadu and Buhari and sold out to Jonathan. He will do it again in 2015.

I actually like him very much.
PoliticsRe: Rivers ACN Blast Tinubu For Meeting With Amaechi by PapaBrowne(m): 1:03pm On Jun 07, 2013
dayokanu: Well done Asiwaju

Thats how ACN would gain a stranglehold in Rivers.

Strategic planning while others are making noise,

The way ACN chased PDP out of SW.

The same planning that ensured ACN has a senatorial seat in the heartland of Anambra

the same way ACN found its way into the Benue State in the North central

Take it, Tinubu is the best politician in the whole country

A man who ensured his own party has legislators from all regions in the country

Something older parties like ANPP, APGA, Labour Party cannot do.

Tinubu alone designed a party thats number 1 opposition in Nigeria

God bless Asiwaju Tinubu
I totally agree with you. Tinubu is a great political tactician. And he is the only hope for the ACN OR APC.

And that's the exact reason why the ACN is not a party but an appendage of Tinubu called Asiwaju Company of Nigeria.

For the whole of the opposition to depend on the sagacity of one man and you wonder why he sold out to Jonathan in 2011.

I will always love Tinubu. Come 2015 the opposition would cry again when Tinubu sells all this his hard work for some good old oil block!!
PoliticsRe: W-A-R-N-I-N-G! Amaechi To Jonathan: Stop Meddling In NGF, Else I’ll Join APC by PapaBrowne(m): 8:35pm On Jun 06, 2013
Lies lies lies. But beaurrifulll lies all the same!!!

Hear the prose:

Amaechi, please now don't leave PDP please. We need you so badly thats why we suspended you. You are too important to us. We wouldn't have suspended you if we dont love you. It is because we love you so much. Please ehhn.
Rubbish

PDP has suspended you. Its a polite way to say get out of the party!! They don't want you, don't need you and wouldn't miss you. Ask Atiku for some lessons in politics. He left the PDP and came back in a second when he realized he had just joined a regional party. If you think PDP suspended you because they want you to have a rethink, think again. They simply want you out, so get out and stop frustrating us with your whinning!!

bobthebuilder99: None of you Igbos posting on this thread live in the North, so you should stop complaining.

I don't think these people would be constantly kicking against the way the FG has been handling the Boko Haram crisis if it was being handled well. I don't like the Nigerian police and I live in a safe area. Imagine living in the North where the crazed police and military have unlimited power. Look at them wrong in Lagos and you might end up in a bad way. I wonder what would happen in Borno?

There are a lot of people hurting in the North that we never hear about. It is easy to call everyone who doesn't love GEJ Boko Haram when you live far away from the danger.
So can you help prescibe a solution. Isn't it obvious already that all attempts at dialogue have failed? The only thing that has worked is the state of emergency. You and the Northern elders are wicked hearted. People have been killing innocent citizens for 3 years now and you ask that they should not be proscribed. What of those Boko Harma have killed. Do you ever think about them at all. You sound like a potential terrorist. You should be watched carefully.

dayokanu: Can those people holing up in Lagos now move to the new Paradise in Akwa Ibom?

Lagos no good yet dem wan die inside. Akwa Ibom better yet na Lagos all of them dey go live
Dear Sir Dayo,
You don't seem to understand our strategy. We don't intend to move back. Those back home would develop the homebase. We in Lagos would buy up every space available and we would send you back to Osogbo and Ibadan. We literally own Lekki right now. And Ikoyi and Victoria Island. We are coming to the mainland and we would take up every space available.
Have you ever been on Ajose Adeogun. Go and ask who owns all the land there.

I hate tribalism. Akpabio is doing great. You appreciate.
Why the inane beef with any progress that happens outside of the south west??

Factional Chairman of a LG council..... hey!!!
Wetin we no go hear. And somebody will tell me to spend my hard earned 150 naira to buy Vanguard.

How does a factional chairman of Burutu LG council equate to Delta state chapter.

All these illiterates that studied journalism......
PoliticsRe: CPC Denies Knowledge Of Buhari's 2015 Posters by PapaBrowne(m): 1:24pm On Jun 05, 2013
Obviously the same people who printed & pasted the Buhari APC posters are the same people who printed & pasted the Lamido/Amaechi posters few days ago. They are also the same people behind the Sanusi adultery tales and the daily lies & propaganda fed to Nigerians via places like Nairaland. Their ogas at the top are also the same people who went to summon reluctant Jang to challenge Amaechi at the NGF. They lost the election but claimed an illegal victory which the overall mumu at the top has endorsed.

They are also the same group of people who intend to massively rig in Ebele in 2015.

Same group of people. Heavily funded with a mission to cause chaos in the political sphere and attempt to fool Nigerians again into thinking their Oga is the best thing to happen to Nigeria since sliced bread & should be given the ticket in 2015.

I did. And by the way, I have read Robert Greene's 48 laws. And from what I see around, Jonathan has been the most successful applicator of that law in Nigerian politics. For you to assume that OBJ is still the master, that discredits your write up in the first place.

I thought as much.....

cheesy cheesy cheesy
Maybe you think Lagos belongs to you because you are a Yoruba man. Sorry for you. Osun man like you go dey claim Lagos.

Let me tell you this: We own lagos. We non-indigenes. We make Lagos tick. Without us, Lagos would be just like Ibadan or Ife or Ogbomosho or Ijebu Ode.

What makes Lagos tick:
The banks: We own them. Diamond, Stanbic IBTC, Zenith, UBA, you name it.
The Airlines: We own them.- Arik and Aero. Edo & Delta. Ibru and Aruremi.
The TV stations: We own them. Channels, AIT, Silverbird...you name it.
The Newspapers: Guardian, Thisday, Vanguard, and the rest of the best.
The Hotels: We own them. Federal Palace, Sheraton, Four Points, the new Marriot, and a whole lot others.
Or is it the ports? Na we dey import everything that passes through.

As if the infrastructure that makes Lagos tick was built by Awo. Gowon built the infrastructure. Even the money that built the infrastructure came from down south. So what the heck is this talk about go back to your village.

Akwa Ibom is making progress and peoiple celebrate but you here throwing jealous rants. Maybe the reason for your fear is that the owners of everything that makes Lagos tick would start considering moving to Akwa Ibom and Lagos would suddenly look like Abeokuta. Nonsense!!

You guys call Joanthan clueless, but he uses that cluelessness to outstand you opposition folks all the time then you come out whinning.
It's surprising that the opposition couldn't detect that Jonathan had only one intention. Destroy the NGF. And he got it on a platter of gold. As in the opposition served him like a king!

Right now, Jonathan is the happiest at the death of the NGF. No more bullying of the Executive by a body that has no constitutional jurisdiction.

I have noticed also how Amaechi has kept quiet since the PDP suspended him. I wonder why he is afraid to join the opposition.

Drop your beef man. PR01 has given the best explanation you can get.
The question you should ask yourself is simply: Who is the master now? GEJ or OBJ? The answer is obvious Mr? OBJ is no longer the master. There is a new master on the block. Your speech on never outshine the master should stay valid for the likes of Amaechi and the rest of the folks who want the President's job.

Excellent. This is so impressive.
I love the fact that the device was named in the local dialect.

This is social development at its best. The results might not be obvious today, but give it 10 years and you'll feel the impact. Same kind of way Awo's education legacy still lives on. Ogbeni Rauf has won my heart with this!!

Other states should emulate this.
PoliticsRe: How Jonathan Undermined & Defiled The First Law Of Power. by PapaBrowne(m): 11:01pm On Jun 03, 2013
Law 15

Crush your Enemy Totally

All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.
Reading this, I just felt sympathy for Amaechi. If Jonathan lives by these laws, Ameachi is toast. Wooow.
Feel bad for him already. No wonder they burnt Ibori to ashes.
PoliticsRe: 30 Achievements In 30 Months Of Unusual Governance by PapaBrowne(m): 10:44pm On Jun 03, 2013
Ogbeni Rauf scores pretty high on social development but very low on infrastructural development and economic development.
The implication is two sided. In the long term, the state would be better off. Long term as in 20 years time.
In the short term, other states like Edo, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Lagos, Cross River and the likes that have focused on economics and infrastructure are going to attract investments and by so doing earn more money in taxes and have enough for social development.

His social development strides are commendable.

My own belief is that economic development should be the first focus. Because that is what would take you away from running to Abuja for monthly stipends.

Nchara: My bad! I wanted to write Stanford but ended up with Harvard. Harvard is of course an ivy league.

These projections are based on Nigeria's huge and growing population. For those who are interested in balkanizing the country, the respective countries that will emanate will lose the edge as investors move to the next big countries. Now profit from investments is becoming a matter of population.
I don't think it's just the population because countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh share similar populations but aren't having excellent projections. But population is surely a strong factor.
I think Nigerians are very determined go-getters by nature and that makes for success in the business world.
Also, I think we are blessed with some crazy resources whether in oil or Agriculture.

The McKinsey guy said focus on cities. Ignore countries. In that light, Nigeria is not too different from say south Africa because our cities are not to different in size, but Nigeria is a much more attractive investment option. So its more than just population.

Peterwins: Once we get the politics (and policies) right then our development as a nation will be unstoppable but for now some foreign investors will put a hold on their proposed investments in Nigeria until after the 2015 elections while some may tactically (or temporarily) withdraw their FDI around the end of 2014/ early 2015. The stock market may experience some glitches around this period.
You are right about the politics. I was at a mini kind of seminar about six weeks ago and there were these Americans who said lots of the big chains in America inclusive of Walmart, Starbucks, McDonalds and a host of other are already in Nigeria studying the real estate situation with a view of purchasing the best spots such that immediately after the elections, if the current economic team is returned, they would swarm in here in droves. Didn't exactly understand why they are particular about the current economic team, but it was clear that if 2015 comes and goes peacefully, then Nigeria will see an unprecented arrival of investments.
