The interesting thing with this lawsuit is that it says: Dokubo, an ex militant, is a responsible man so should not be expected to make inflammatory statements. Buhari, a former President, is irresponsible, so when he makes inflammatory statements, it is just one of the things he does, so no need to take him to court. To think that comparisons are now being made between a militant and a former president. This simply either means that the ex president has come down to the level of the ex militant or the ex militant has gone up to the level of the ex president. Dogs and Baboons!!! |
My People, performance cannot hide. If there was performance, we would see pictures. Not a single picture of a well completed road in 3 years. There are pictures of Lagos. There are pictures of Edo There are pictures of Rivers( Amaechi's schools) There are pictures of Akwa Ibom. There are pictures of Enugu. Even Imo, with Rochas just 2 years and there are so many pictures. It is either there are no cameras in Osun State or there is no work to show. I challenge the Aregbe supporters to provide just one picture of a well completed road so we can appraise. At least Aviation minister has stayed less than 2 years and she has more than enough pictures to prove her worth. |
njazra: So CPC is also in charge of Borno and other States where boko haram reigns?Funnily, ANPP, BuHARI'S former party is in charge of all the core Boko Haram states- Borno & Yobe. There is something about the states Buhari wins and the occurence of violence. |
If every private citizen that says something against Nigeria is tried for treason, we would not have enough lawyers to try the cases. The starting point for such treasonable comments should be Nairaland and half the population here would go to jail. |
This love thing has too many definitions sef. I dont waste time trying to decipher it. I just understand the love that is the relationship between a MOTHER AND A BABY. |
duality: Even Femi Falanan SAN berated the FG in Benin city few days ago; accusing the FG of stopping the installation of CCTV in Lagos. This report puts an end to a previous argument where ACN goons kept claiming its the state government that installed cameras. Not everything should be politicized. Where there is progress we must commend. Where there is failure we should criticize. Jonathan is doing excellently well in the 4 arms of infrastructure: Road, Rail, Air and Power. I dont know about any changes in seaports. Jonathan is doing excellently well in Agriculture, Economy and Trade. As per security, corruption and social re engineering, performance is low. We should say it as is. We should tell the truth all the time. https://www.nairaland.com/1220415/anyone-noticed-city-wide-cctv/1#14688965 |
This is excellent. Super excellent. Finally we have thinking people in Government. This single act will slash corruption by civil service officials by more than 50%. Let me give a practical example. The official cost of obtaining an international passport is 8,000 Naira. But if you go to any passport office, youll pay 20,000 Naira. 12,000 Naira goes to the immigration officers. The same extortion is found in tax offices,License office and everyother thing that civil servants operate. This card and the attractiveness of making it a debit card also is just sweet!! Partnering wiuth mastercard is another very sweet move! |
Seun: Fellow Nairaland Members,The Governor of Nairaland is a very smart person. He was never in support of rule 17. So in order to do away with it without offending that group of offendables, he makes us protest against it and puts his decision to take it away on our protests. Now the offendables cannot hold him responsible for any offending or offense perpetuated by offenders. Smart move. On a more serious note everybody should be sensitive enough to not offend other peoples sensibilities whether its religion, politics or ethnicity. But at the same time we must realize that tolerance is a two way street. If you don't take offense, nobody will offend you. |
I like this report. Anybody with an idea where I can get the full report? |
Truth is the BRT is loosing its steam. I have always wondered why despite the popularity, Fashola hasnt built new BRT lanes nor has he added sufficient amounts of new buses on the routes. |
I keep saying this everywhere I go. Nigeria is experiencing cataclysmic transformation. In the next 5 years the changes would be so tremendous that people would be begging for Nigerian Visas. Our Airports will be filled up with Diaspora and Foreigners seeking to come chop from the pie. I love Dangote. The man is one Nigerian that has put his money where his mouth is. He works hard and deserves every kobo that comes his way. He is the only really wealthy Nigerian(aside the banker guys) that didn't make his money through oil. When Dangote opens a Refinery, others would follow suit. |
Amaechi Don dey fear. Hehhehehhehe! Amaechi Don dey fear! Hehehehehehe! Amaechi, who said he was no more running for any political position, added that the people of the state would lose their respect for his critics by the time he opened up on their past deeds. The man fear Abuja power, so he is backing down from contesting the NGF position. He said, “I will speak to the state, but not now. When I speak to the state, you will not respect any of these people (Abuja-based politicians from Rivers). I am now determined to open up.The man dey fear Jonathan. So he made his emphasis clear, that he is not referring to the President but politicians from Rivers State. Amaechi was digging his own grave with that fight. Obviously some people were deceiving him. |
When a President persecutes a Governor, it is sacrilege and desecration of our constitution. But when a Governor does same to a Local Government Chairman, it is very alright. Because Governors see themselves as what? Some kind superhuman? Most of these Governors strangulate our development on the Local Government Level by preventing LGA elections in thier states. |
Listen Nigerians. Nigeria is making tremendous progress. The opposition does not want you to see it all. So they feed the air with incessant lies. They want us to believe that our economy is doing badly. They want us to believe that corruption is at its highest. They want us to believe that there is war in the country. They hate it when they see the infrastructural renewal in Roads, Power, Rails and Airports. They hate the Agricultural transformation because it is working. I was at a mini kind of Seminar last month organized by an American very close the the American Government. These were his words. Nigeria's Economy is shocking economists globally. It is defying every known economic principle and growing tremendously in all sectors. Bombs are going off, Electricity is Erratic and Infrastructure is decrepit, yet the country is experiencing some of the best growth rates worldwide. Americans have noticed. Europeans have noticed. The Asians have noticed. And they are coming in droves. But everybody is waiting for 2015. Walmart, Starbucks and MacDonalds and lots of other American Chains are searching for real Estate but are all waiting for 2015. If the current economic team is returned, they'll come. Those were his words and that is the thinking of the current American Administration towards Nigeria. Its only the opposition that thinks the country is a hell hole. They tell the world that Nigeria is a hell hole, but when rating agencies call Lagos the worst city to live in, they fight like Lagos is not Nigeria that they call a hell hole. Obama's visit will piss offf these same opposition figures because it adds to Jonathan's credibility. |
With rule 17, Seun is actually using sarcasm to take a jibe at Islam. The rule reads thus: All other religions are peaceful, so no problems will be created if you express yourself freely. Islam on the other hand is globally accepted as violent, hence we must all try to prevent violence by restricting our freedoms when it comes to issues of Islam. |
seunfly: They are opposition and that is what opposition does any where in the world, they look for ruling parties weakness to garner support 4 themselves.Interesting kind of thinking. So opposition is allowed to attack and criticize but others are not allowed to do same. This is the height of hypocrisy. Constructive criticism is welcome everywhere, but criticizing even postive things because you dont like the Government is just plain sick and absurd. If something is good, you say it is good. If something is bad, you say it is bad. |
HNosegbe: Who came up with this estimate? How was the figure arrived at? How do we know it's not inflated? Where will the funding come from? Over what time frame will this be completed? What checks are in place to prevent misappropriation? Who will supervise the use of these funds?Good questions no doubt. But check this: Why is it that when it the feds, you ask this question but never do same about your state governors. A large chunk of our expenses are expended by states and LGAs and nobody cares to look their way. |
Why all these lies? Is Nigeria a member of G8? What bullcrap!! Apart from the 5 other states that UK and France have been pushing for their inclusion and have often been invited as 'guests' in previous meetings, no other country outside G8+5 is being invited to their 2013 summit. Is Nigeria a member of the O5? Well, the Outreach 5 members are Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa, so Nigeria's name is not even there. There is even not clear indication yet that any of the O5 guests are going to Lough Erne this year. UK is presently the host country and their diplomatic focus on middle east is forcing them to push for the invitation of any of the key players- Israel and/or Turkey. How does Nigeria come into the picture? And for the clowns that claim to have held a meeting with Terrence of US, they should be discussing with UK who sets the agenda as the 2013 host country. For the records, that you don't like GEJ should not not make one stupiid. Some people are even already celebrating. That some graduates cannot even google the membership and configuration of G8 is pathetic. Nigeria is doing excellently well in the diplomatic circles. Have held her own and have done her things. Finally, from what i know, the US foreign assistance strategy to Nigeria is "investing in people" and all forms of military assistance is in training and support, not the type heavy financial aid you have between US and Isreal or US and Egypt.
Intelligence is Intelligence and it cannot be hidden!! You are one heck of a brianiard!! 1,000,000 Likes |
PDP should leave Oshibaba alone. The man hold ground kampe!! Incase they don't know, one of President Jonathan's most trusted ally is Oshiomole!! The man is growing from strong to strength. And Oshiomole haters should be very careful, the guy mind end up as Nigeria's next Presido. He is actually the most qualified Nigerian for the seat! |
My own wonder is why St Loius is the only cubed sugar sold in Nigeria. What happened to my Eastern brothers? Abi dem no dey sell cube sugar for China ni? |
Fashola listens on heavily on Nairaland. I am busy now. I will explain later. |
Omen100: brownepapa na which bayelsans u dey talking about dere so ooooo? let me speak bayelsan egrish 4 u, is it the the same clueless people I know about living in tremendous & glorified poverty with misplaced priorities? And you laughed. Must have been really funny what you wrote. |
Economic power givers you the ability to command political power. China for instance become a stronger political force the moment they got their economics in order. If you have political power and dont have economic power, you will end up a toothless bulldog. |
mikeansy: Opposition should assume he will runBut opposition has shown that the only structures they know how to build is on the pages of newspapers forgetting that that all Nigerian newspapers collectively don't sell up top 250,000 copies on any given day. PDP on the other hand would give farmers 10 million mobile phones which would be used not only for distribution of fertilizers and other farm inputs but also for reminding them on election day to thumbprint umbrella. The earlier the opposition learns that politics is not on the pages of the newspapers, the better thier chanes of making any impact. As it currently stands, they are still in Primary one where the PDP is graduating from university. |
I'm getting really worried that the opposition cannot come up with better options. So in this large country of 160 million Nigerians, the opposition cannot find a single credible candidate to challenge the incumbent. They are either looking at Buhari or are looking within the folds of the PDP. It is disheartening. Buhari scored 12 million votes against Jonathan's 22 million votes. Shouldn't the APC be looking for who can deliver above 12 million? The last I checked,22 million is 10 million away from 12 million. Plus Buhari is much less popular now than he was in 2011. He cant get up to 1 million votes in southern nigeria whether SW,SS,SE or MB. |
Nice beautiful pictures. Amazing how we Nigerians don't go to all these places. Na only oyinbo I dey see for the pictures! |
berem: Who cares? Seriake Dickson can as well live in the forest or convert the building to a museum if that makes him happy. who gives a fucck?Surely you don't give a fucck. But also the Bayelsans whom this gesture would benefit also don't give a rats arrrrse about you or descendants. So save your head the stress. |
Look at all of them. They appear like they have just come out of hell where their master lives! Such travesty to humanity. They surely are no humans and all Muslims would be seething with anger seeing what these demons have done and are doing to their religion. |
It is refreshing to read posts by Akainzo, PapaBrowne, Neo-XVI, and others which point out obvious discrepancies with the report and Aganga's claims, without resorting to the customary servile flattery exhibited by GEJ goons and PDP jobbers, who know themselves.
I don't think Aganga is responsible for the wrong information. I think our journalist are the problem. You see this same problem anytime they have to convert large figures from dollars to Naira. Trust me, many people don't know that it is as simple as multiplying the dollar figure by the exhange rate and you'll get the Naira figure. I see people face this simple maths challenge every time. Sadly, journalists should know better but they dont. |
ONE SERIOUS QUESTION: Why does the opposition always go over to PDP to pick a Presidential Candidate? Is there a lack of capable hands in the opposition? The continous act actually betrays the constant speech that PDP is the problem of Nigeria. In 2003... the AD choose to abstain from the elections in order to support a PDP candidate. In 2007... the AD transformed to AC and welcomed the PDP vice President, Atiku as its Presidential candidate. In 2011... the AC transformed to ACN and borrowed Ribadu who served PDP's attack dog up until 2009. In 2015... the ACN has become APC and is again looking for candidates from the fold of the PDP. Is there a lack of nationally acceptable capable hands in the Opposition? Is this an admission by the opposition that the PDP is the only national party in the country? I feel the opposition keeps shooting its feet with this one. The best way to win an election of this type is to create a messianic figure out of an unknown personality and bring him to the fore way before the elections. Why the opposition cant think outside the PDP I dont get it. |
Specifically, for vegetable oil production, import fell from about N1tn to about N577bn; textile imports fell from about N190bn to N94bn, representing about 82 per cent decrease; while cement import fell from about N219bn to about N27bn. In total, these three sectors only contributed to more than N817bn to our foreign reserves because we are less dependent on import. That one about Vegetable oil.....the figures cannot be right. I have a problem with Nigerian journalists when it comes to the use of figures. Larger figures always confuse them especially when you have to convert from dollar to Naira. There is no way we would have spent 1 trillion Naira importing vegetable oil. Using this Vegetable oil as an exaple to my problem with all these figures, lets ask some specific questions. If vegetable oil imports reduced from 1`trillion to 577 billion, that means its either vegetable oil producers in Nigeria suddenly produced 423 billion Naira worth more of goods(where is the capacity) in the last year alone or the price of oil dropped internationally or Nigerians suddenly reduced their consumption of Vegetable oil by almost half. All three are wrong. My take is that the figure in question is 100 billion reduced to 57.7 billion Naira. Journalists should be made to learn maths and proofreaders should always correct these false figures as they serve to misinform a gullible public. All the same, there has been remarkable reduction in importation and that could be attributed to various factors which include more local manufacturing, reduced purchasing power/less liquidity or reduced appetite for consumerism. My take is that better manufacturing(Dangote Cement) and a little less easy liquidity are responsible. |
afrikanns: IN THE TWO COUNTRIES YOU VE MENTIONED ESPECIALLY IN THE SAUDI ARABIA, IT IS A RULE AND REGULATION FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL THAT "MUST" BE ABIDE BY TILL THIS WORLD COMES TO AN END,THAT NON-MUSLIMS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED IN THE HOLY CITY OF MECCA AND MEDINA, WHATEVER THE PRESSURE FROM THE WEST.And that is alright by you?? But the funny hypocrisy of it all is that churches are allowed in American Military bases in both countries. Or are the Military bases not a part of the holy land? |
