No comment until the authorities. But I am seeing things I have seen before and not for a very long time and it is not good. Just hope there is some mistake here. |
Jabioro:Senseless, shallow and truncated talk. Sit back and think through the whole thing properly and understand the implications. If this thing worsens and food production collapses, even the CBN hidden behind glass towers will sit up. PS. I don't talk for nought. I usually see things well ahead of most Nigerians including government. Banditry targetting the rural north will become a national disaster if not halted quickly. This is July. |
This thing is going to cause food shortages in the near future if we cannot put a lid on it. These rural folks are responsible for the production of a large proportion of the staples we consume across the country. They are by no means idle and must be protected. This government is playing with fire. |
RIP. But you worked in all those key places only to end up as a Chief of Staff (whatever that is) to a politician who likely doesn't know where he is going or what he is doing with power.... how do these strange things happen. |
I prefer a retired or serving judge or on the other end of the spectrum an investigative auditor. The police to me are far too light on tact, quantitative reasoning, scientific applications and far too heavy on a sub culture of brawn, brass and vice. Yes the EFCC's soft power may have improved over the years but it is still way too short to handle the ever increasing volume and complexity of white collar crime in Nigeria and across our borders. |
Africans always miss the point. Mr Magu is the Head of an institution, the face of the institution. Mr Magu is NOT an institution so the EFCC should be able to continue just fine without him IF both he and the goverment had allowed it function properly as an institution. Are Nigerians not calling for the removal of the service chiefs. What is the difference. Does anyone fear the collapse and capitulation of the Nigerian Army if Buratai is sent packing... of course not. Just get a better Head for the EFCC, a more cerebral one. Let us try out an ace Auditor this time around, perhaps a retired or serving Judge. Lets do something different and impact existing weaknesses. |
Afted the billions given Lagos State. Won't be surprised if most of the cash is gone to some bigwig hunkering down in his masnsion completely out of harms way with a brand new Landcruiser parked in his driveway tagged Covid Taskforce. |
We told them in 2014, told them loud and clear that without restructuring, using insecticide in a swamp was akin to lunacy. They said no. They wanted 'superman'.... well right there under the very Ministry 'Superman' presides over have been steady but mind boggling acts of corruption to which no one, I REPEAT NOT A SINGLE PERSON has been investigated thoughtless of indicted since 2015 for the wanton acts even a dunce can see.... well it appears someone, somewhere close by is holding a shard of kryptonite. Here we are today.... Nigerians...how far? |
XXLMANDIGO:That ship has long sailed.... since 1985 when it came to light that virtually every Minister and Military Administrator that served between 83 and 85 became billionaires, some in dollar terms. Said this when the trumpets were blaring heralding the great corruption fighter in 2014. Today who can say that. Except the naive in the Villa all of them are billionaires once again. Yes, billionaires without investments, without new discoveries and innovation, without hard work and industry. Just stealing blindly, peddling influence for 'gifts' aka rent seeking and mortgaging the state for gain aka 'round tripping'. Nothing has changed in 38 years of the great omission. |
That's nice and positive at this point in history. |
Greed. The oldest sin in all creation. With all his power and glory Satan just had to be like God. Someone here is trying to be what he is not, so the story ends. |
donjazet:Always angry, always offended. Not surprised. It is the type of nature causing all the problems of the world, a manifestation of that is wrong. Hate, hate, hate. You need to get back to your Creator. The world as it is today is crumbling under godlessness. You can see it all around but ypu donot have the nerve to admit it. There are no solutions with 'human critical thinking' else there will be no problems. |
The atheists are here again blaming God for what He is not responsible for. God created the first man perfect without fault, gave him a soul to be an independent, co-creator to handle matters here on earth and placed him in an optimum situation to work it out. Man gave it all up for a moment of disobedience and absconded. What was God to do. What we see everyday in the lives of all men including you and I is the consequences of an uncertain life ruined by sin and the uncertainty of a life without God. It is not any baby's fault at birth to be born into terrible suffering, violence, poverty or health challenges but as one ages you must begin to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions by getting back to God to see at least what can be repaired and what should be prevented in future. God is now on a rescue mission. He is done with creating the perfect man out of dust. Not his fault, He made us to be Iike Him and we threw it away. He cannot force any man to be anything. He has given you a soul, an effective instrument of choice no other creature has. What are you doing with that power of choice? |
Unending repairs akin to Nigeria's refineries. But where is the Fourth Mainland bridge touted for the last 25 years. That is why all great cities have multiple modes of moving people around. The Federal Goverment had better raise cash to aid the completion of one or two metro routes. |
Hmmm.... so no bailout for dstv to enable us watch next season's instalment of the greatest show on earth, the English Premiership. The UN and AU must check VAR on this calamity. Bad tackle from behind by Minister Lai. |
NewBea:I cannot see any connection except the phone being an ignition source. But cooking gas is stored in a containment vessel which should be leak proof. So it is either she was distracted by the ringing phone, opened the valve or turned on the regulator and left a gas leak or the gas equipment was faulty. Anyway, lpg is scented during production and should be perceived if there is a major leak. Multi tasking safely is not her strong point. Whenever you get emotional on the phone danger always lurks. |
Just goes on and on and on till ypu are sick enough to throw up your Sunday rice.... Corfuption CAN NEVER END. I don't care who presides over this country. As long as the wine skin remains the same the masses will continue drinking bile. |
itsme01:Swallow is poison the older you get. Do you know how many kilometers you have jog to burn off a standard serving. Not worth it at all. |
Exc2000:I agree most won't.... because the vast majority are small minded. But you can always defeat hate with love.... that is for the wise. Ypu won't find that anywhere else except the Bible. I think you need it. |
I'm not too sure about government's direct market interference in the price of their services as being ideal because it could afftect quality, which in this case means content. Also to have an anti trust battle there has to be competition which the perpetrator is undermining. In this case, DSTV has no active competitor in the Digital Sattelite market which is so sophisticated even government cannot possibly stimulate alternatives. Some adversaries simply cannot be defeated by confrontation as I always tell those I mentor. Create a niche, work hard to deliver an excellent product or service, reinvest almost every reward in efficiency and you will reign perpetually. No matter how Iran hates the west and America specifically if they have to fly they must fork out scarce forex to buy American and Western aircraft because there are no viable options. Pre-Musk, if America wanted to visit their real estate in space they needed to fly Russian rockets no matter how vile Putin was. Since we cannot compete, we cannot control and the only thing left is for market forces of supply and demand to burn DSTV out. They will sooner or later hit peak demand and peak price. By then our own Elon Musk's will be ready to 'Coup de Grace'. |
I think he should pay and continue. To stop is to belittle God who has inspired you to get involved as not being able to afford it or cannot withstand the contradictions of man, the same contradictions Jesus felt every step of his ministry on earth. The very statement that the community is against him will not sit right in heaven. If you are sent go, simple. The God who has resourced you knows all these things will happen. Nothing on earth has ever prevailed against the gospel. The truth is that Satan has once more manipulated the hearts of men to oppose. Its not about the money but the souls and God will spoil for a fight. The Almighty loves these kinds of challenges. |
Spotted the hotel I always stay while there. Have some good friends there but the town can be hard, damn hard and expensive to run things there so one is always on a tight margin. Wish Nigeria had handled the issue of the Niger-Delta properly. |
splendour7:This is very uncharitable and downright silly. You fellows should just give this bigotry a rest please. It is eating away at your intellect. Has it occured to you that investors of all shades from all parts of the world including your supposedly superior corner will appreciate infrastructure in all parts of the country to take advantage of potential markets there. You really need to start thinking here. |
omocalabar:Everyone or anyone living is coastal cities and communities anywhere in the workd knows that with onset of the rains seafaring becomes substantially more treacherous. We still donot have the requisite knowledge and infrastructure to make water transport safe enough to drive the volumes that will make it a viable industry. This doesn't help at all. |
Vianna:Watched a docu on National Geographic about some of the largest dairies in the States. The level of bio security there is just mind boggling. Before you can access where the cows are kept you have to kit up with Covid 19 like PPE and go for a scrub. Not a single hair on your head must be loose. They also have IR scanners tracking any animal that runs temperature....serious stuff. With globalisation comes the added risk of international transmission of infectious diseases. Those in the animal husbandry business must step up their game and start building bio secure infrastructure. Also it is yet another warning that the days of the free range cattle breed aka herdsmen is at an end. Many of these animal diseases are passed across species and a single cattle from Niger Republic can easily unload a storm of infection to a pig, goat, bird farm in say Lagos, Rivers or Edo. Let us sit up and be proactive. There are challenges ahead. |
Karlifate:That is why they never have positive, inspirational ideas to move their tasks forward for the benefit of the citizenry. They are bogged down by corruptible thoughts. They spend their waking hours looking for loopholes to milk. So tbey have no ideas to tackle security problems, poverty challenges, the pandemic, education, health, every facet of life and living, no solutions. Simply because corruption is the antonym of inspiration. You cannot have both. |
The man and his entire staff should be isolated immediately and tests conducted on them to see whether the virus has crossed over. This is serious. What is happening these days eh.... |
iyke2ken:Missed call mister. The structure that Griezmann, Costa and the mercurial El-Nino shone under....c'mon. Anyway Sam Chuks is not a forward and is not known for goals but his excellent link up play and defence splitting runs. His value will be his assists. |
Hezzyluv:Can't agree more. This boy will become the biggest Nigerian soccer name of all time if he can keep his head. |
Simplyleo:Hard working indeed. When they run out of ideas they start insulting the victims. So all those in school feeding, N-Power and the rest are what.... lazy, because they depend on government hand outs. Look through the length and breadth of the world and show me which government is raising taxes in the midst of the pandemic induced global recession. Electricity tarriff increase was suspended for what reason..... of course the FIRS didn't get the memo. You folks are just lucky Nigerians remain a docile entity. However bring on more taxes, pack them full and let it end this charade. |
I like taxes. They entrench democracy and bring down authoritarian goverments and feudal kingdoms. They are the percussion cap of explosive revolutions. So bring them on. It will wipe away sentiment like bleach. Some dogged, hardcore government backed fanatics are already monosyllable... 'hmmm'. When it hits harder they will go 'ho hum...' |
Wow. What a loss. The man did a lot in combating criminal elements from robbers to notorious kidnappers to Boko Haram elements trying to beach at the state.... too bad. But diabetis is not a death sentence if detected and managed early. It is only a killer where poverty is involved. |
