I am waiting for the leader that will give the likes of the FBI a six month contract to clean up the nation and evacuate the waste to processing facilities in the US or dumpsites in China. But then it is the same people, the enigmatic so called masses, at the butt end of all the corruption and criminality in Nigeria that will rise up to protest about a soverignity they understand little about. |
It will be poison. Someone will pay dearly for this. Once more, China will be involved, with their reprehensible appetite for every living thing on earth for food and medicines. Perhaps the latest offering from their world infamous Wuhan Bio Laboratories. |
Yes indeed. Another 'BILLIONAIRE!!!!' businessman. What he does for a living....?&/#!!!&*#$ .... who knows... who cares in the modern day Nigerian society that has lost it moral compass. You do not need an EFCC if society works well.Look at the pictures. He shows us office, bedroom or hotel and shopping mall. No single article of trade, no factories, no farms, no laboratories, no practices, nothing to symbolise legitimacy, nothing you can point to as the source of the riches, only the attraction of pride and pleasure to weaken and mentally sicken the vulnerable in further corroding the morals of society. That is how they recruit to their cause and spawn a generation of criminals. My major concern is that these folks may grow to become a threat to the State either by infiltrating and corrupting the whole security architecture of Nigeria just like the mob or somehow join forces with cult groups or terror groups and take up arms against the state and state actors just like the mafia. The vast amounts of money at their disposal can fund some very nasty acts capable of destabilising even government. Government should act swiftly and decisively. I think it is time to step up the battle and establish dedicated institutions to tackle this specfic problem from its roots. |
A structure that perpetuates such high crimes and misdemeanours should not be tackled, it should just be dismantled. These sordid stories will never end. It is impossible to operate a clean government like this. I am not even interested in recoveries. She should keep the houses but serve life without parole, simple. But who will pass such laws with ranking lawmakers like Uzor Kalu receiving sympathy visits left, right and centre as if the State offended him by jailing him for serious graft whereas he spent only a matter of weeks incarcerated. Only an absolute and thorough restructuring of this country can end this madness, and only a forceful citizenry tired of the vicious cycle of sentiment can do it. |
jflesh7:Laba-laba.... .... such a poor player. Not EuroTop 5 League material. |
If you could imagine a man like that governor getting re elected after a total disaster of a first term then the people of Kogi thoroughly deserve what they get. We have said it before. Absolutely no sympathy. Elections exist for a purpose. |
bluefilm:96 to 2000. The era of 'El Phenom'. The great Ronaldo himself and the mercurial Luis Figo. He actually benched Figo a couple of times. But for injuries he will probably have played for Real Madrid like both those icons. He was that good. |
bluefilm:Emmanuel Amuneke played briefly for Barca but injuries were his Achilles Heel... quite literaly. According to Wiki he played 19 times scoring just a goal. His peak was really in Sporting Lisbon, CR7's club of his youth and he was a regular in the Champions league where Barca scouts spotted him. As for Real Madrid the closest any Nigerian has gotten to the Galacticos according to Google is Mutiu Adepoju playing for their B team. |
bolaayenimo:Here they come. The money men. Money, money, money. Money that can be made and lost anytime in life. We talk about records, achievements and history that cannot be undone or rewritten. Elevate your thinking friend. |
AnanseK:I am merely stating what a nation should be, what right leaders and inspirational leadership should do to leading the nation to becoming prosperous. Unlike you I am not subscribing to failure or juvenile tantrums. Most of my posts have in them solutions. The roads in the countries of those so called expatriates are not built by foreigners but by commoners. There is nothing special about it if we have leaders who are interested in empowering their people with knowledge, competencies and resources. There is a whole army of youth involved in all manner of crimes for lacking anything meaningful to do and here you are giving out your scare resources to capital flight thinking Nigeria is Saudi Arabia where you can laze around while your arse is wiped by foreign expats. We are poor so we have to develop common sense. Develop some and demand your leaders do same. |
But there are some pretty awful Federal roads the State government will do well to fix. Enugu has had a better than average quality of governance in this 5th Republic but like other one party states it has not benefitted from a viable opposition to shake the tree of development. |
Lovely pictures, great effort until I got to the point where two foreigners standing supposedly supervising the work and I am put off completely. It irritates me seriously. Public works are meant for the public. To empower them. If I were to be in charge of this country foreigners will not be permitted to handle public works projects except on a PPP basis. There is no reason why we need foreigners to build roads and bridges and rail lines in 2020. |
Exercise daily. Run 2, 3, 4 kilos everyday, keep your lungs fully inflated and your heart maxed out frequently and you have little to worry about. |
Never been this bad. They are bleeding the military and sapping morale steadily. New thinking is needed here. |
Looks like the surface of Mars. National Geographic will be interested. |
Bossontop:Nigerian scammers steal anything from anyone. They steal from governments, individual, corporations, charities, NGO's. They steal insurance from the rich, steal pensions of retirees, steal, steal social security of the poor, steal medicaid, steal from lonely widows, steal from divorcees, steal from churches.... heck they even steal from other hackers.... who the hell does that. In the jungle of international cyber crime they are apex omnivorous predators and being omnivores they dung smells bad. Who won't complain. |
I really didn't want to belittle myself commenting on this matter as I have already said that a person in mourning may not act logically or rationally for a season but on this: Culture or not, civilisation or not, it cannot be right if you cannot drop absolutely everything to honour your spouse of more than half your life for a single day. It is beyond comprehension. It is unimaginable. The only reason why I will keep anything open and running that day is if it is an absolutely critical service or such closure will seriously damage the fortunes, reputation, safety or security of others. And this will only be after exhausting all other options in short order. But to be selling provisions on the day your other half is laid to rest is just cold, stone cold. I will fire any manager who does that instantly for dishonouring me that way.... despite the fact I am 'de-traditionalised' and culturally inert. |
Donot excuse or tacitly support rape and rapists under any guise. Someone you love could be their next target. |
God bless your selfless act of kindness. Your reward from Him is sure. Thank you for upholding the image of Nigeria in a time of great damage by a reprobate few. May it inspire others towards good works. |
Just spectacular. Just crying out for investment. Can be the next Miami beach.... but oil has to run out or be as worthless as coal is today for that to happen Cross-River and Akwa Ibom have absolutely everything to be a super mega tourist destination. From the mountain ranges of Obudu where the land touches the clouds to the white sands of Eket.... just wow. These sister states are begging for investment. Who is listening. |
fairfora:Indeed I agree. The legit will always see his harvest as his seed. So the less of it he eats the better his future. I have more things to invest in than I have cash in the bank. That is the normal mindset of an achiever. Invest, invest and invest. Those who squander are either incompetent or immoral. |
supercase1:If you become born again you will see life from a different perspective, one of opportunity to do the works for which you are created by God, that is to give value and meaning to all humanity, and you see death not as the fearful end but as the rest and reward ceremony and the place where you were destined to live forever with Christ. Only God can give man a proper perspective about his existence. Find Him today. |
Any parent sending their baby to daycare at this point in time should have his head examined. That is tantamount to sinning against God. Though I pity the education industry particularly the private sector but the situation is clear. If the reopening is rushed and not thought through and prepared for adequately I forsee a cascade of litigations if mass infections are recorded and God forbid casualties especially amongst the younger students. We should be cerebral not emotional about this and lend a hand to those whose jobs and businesses are suffering as a result of the pandemic. |
Thd same oil and gas but they choose not to procreate like rodents and eat both plant and seed like grasscutters. |
ghettokid1:Idle minds make for the devil's workshop. Those in charge should ask their counterparts in other nations what to to engage her youth in meaningful, profitable ventures at practically no cost. Before castigating the youth as a bloc please kindly send leadership for motivational courses. The government only knows them as election fodder. After elections the attention and resources go to multinationals and local fat cats. |
An out of the box thinker. The man has done exceptionally well. It is not what he has done that impresses me but the philosophy behind how he does it. Literaly making bread from stones. |
Why I like his style and of infrastructural development is that it is low cost, low tech and no frills meaning that it is sustainable. He is engaging a mishmash of small, independent, indigenous firms, equipment vendors and DL's to execute, not big multinationals or PLC's. This model should be replicated by other states particularly those seeking value for money or those that have lean resources like Ebonyi. I bet those bridges are a fraction of the cost of those built in Akwa Ibom by JB. But the real story here is that the money stays in Ebonyi and the people of that state will grow in technical expertise over time. I like his can-do spirit. Another outstanding governor who could do well for Nigeria at the centre. |
What did I say. Our poor handling of this pandemic from Day -1 will mean we will be one of the last countries to solve it and we will be a pariah nation in the interim. Just read my posts on this matter as far back starting February. Not only will we be locked out from most parts of the civilised world for a season but anyone from tourists who come here to investors who visit on business will be affected. It will be hard for them to return home. At a period where we need all the resources and help available. To say that this government has turned a major problem into a hydra headed one is an understatement. Just poor quality leadership and governance through and through. What this government sees at the scene of the accident is what I personally envisage 100 kilometres from it. Folks, we need visionaries and thoroughbred intellectuals handling the affairs of this complex country if we are ever going to get it right. We have dined with sentiment for 50 years and never seen a better tomorrow. |
Nigerians are still not persuaded to drop this money worship ritual of wrapping every success story with the toga of 'Millionaire', 'Billionaire', 'Trillionaire' after our image rights internationally have achieved junk status on account of rampant financial malfeasance. What is the meaning of 'Billionaire Businessman' Why can't we collectively desire to ascribe immaterial things to our high achievers and industry leaders. Achievements we can ALL see, feel, appreciate, study, emulate and even thank God for. This poverty mentality should end. It doesn't serve us well and is ruining the fabric of our society and corroding the future of our country especially through the youth. Tell us the real and proper side of his success in a few, short words so that we can be truly inspired. Just hate that toga. |
Sometimes you want to engage some of these folks in a meaningful, positive conversation then you get to the cliff edge of social media and turn back from falling into the abyss of Twitter, Facebook and the lot which I simply cannot join for...... reasons. |
What sort of question is this. Employ a chef. Folks are just too dull. Gather your folks together, contribute a token each and you have enough to employ one. The problem Nigerians have is this terrible problem of lack of cooperation and solidarity that affects every aspect of life here. There is too much suspicion and division caused by selfishness, greed and corruption. Go to rich nations and poorer ones in the far east. They live well by cooperation, crowd sourcing, crowd funding. A Nigerian will buy retail by the penny when he can buy wholesale with his peers, even his competition. When my mum was in college in Wales all those years ago that is what they did and lived well. Food, laundry, transport, house keeping, basically all the non academic expenditure was crowd funded so that they could focus on the primary purpose, their studies. |
Understandable. She is hurting. Should have been handled better by the government no matter the political divide. |
