Just sitting and watching amazed at the failed citizens around fighting tooth and nail for and against folks who neither know them nor have impacted their lives in any meaningful, positive way, ever. Instead of discussing and debating what really matters to them, how to better their own lives. What a waste. People should be taxed for stupidity. It is costing this country dearly.

Not actually. The Bible has a lot of killings in the Old Testament.
The Old Testament is not Christianity in practice. It is the equivalent of modern day Judaism from where Christianity is rooted. Essentially to be referenced not actionable. Jesus Christ came to enable the objectives of the Old Testament in a manner that is possible for the non Jews. There is no Christian today that can engage with God on the basis of the Old Testament alone. We only use it to know what we were saved from.

I will always say this. A democracy only works well when the government FEARS the people. Any other thing short of that is a monarchy. We are yet to develop a functional democracy and so campaigns, polls and ballots in Nigeria are all but useless.

Before democracy is practiced or practicable in any nation there MUST FIRST be some degree of TRUE REVOLUTION. Because revolutions simply do not happen IN democracies as the opportunity to affect society is inherent in its workings through the dynamics of power held in a flux.

The citizens have to be properly in charge BEFORE democracy can be birthed. Democracy is not handed to the citizens by authoritarianism like some inheritance. It is fought for everywhere in the world. Democracy is the PRIZE of the fight. A trophy is given AFTER a successful fight and not BEFORE or DURING the fight.

Cross River state has both Governor and Deputy as Professors. Not Hollywood actors, real scholars, yet the state has not moved from gear one to two in six years.

Nothing can work well in this structure we operate except the feudalism we inherited from our colonial masters deliberately willed to us to ensure independence was just nomenclature.

That Oshiomhole wants to be the Viceroy or Governor General of Edo State only attests to the fact that feudalism is real. Next thing like what is happening in Lagos is to bind the peons calling themselves citizens in chains and fetters of brass and send them to plantations to cultivate sugar.

Just watch out for taxation when Adams is eventually crowned the defacto governor of Edo State.... I just laugh.... Nigeria eh.

This runaway cost of administering and advancing society is just unsustainable. If we spend every penny we have on recurrent expenditure to cater for this recklessly huge population we will remain in a poverty octagon forever running round desperately trying to avoid certain knockout.

Even roadside economists will tell you that the first antidote to financial ruin is fiscal discipline. That is made to measure, ultra efficient expenditure and radical investments. If you continue spending in 2020 the same way you spent in 2013 when the oil price was 5, 6, 7 times the price now then you need your head examined.

If you are spending twice, thrice what you spent in 2013 in this quagmire then you are certified insane. Nigeria's expenditure profile in almost all non productive sectors of government is up from 2015. Who is responsible for this carelessness, indiscipline and corruption please.

I don’t know where you guys want Buhari to get money without borrowing and I am sure Atiku would have done the same
Almost every nation on earth is in debt at the moment
America have been printing money non stop for 4 months now and still not enough
Close to 9 trillion dollars printed already and they are still contemplating printing more
Gej and okonjo started borrowing when oil was $65 per barrel and you are telling Buhari not to borrow when oil was 19$ barrel, the worse is there was no one to buy it
Buhari is clueless but when it comes to our economic situation,he has no choice than to borrow otherwise you all will starve to death
No words for folks like you. I am just so sorry to stand besides such fellow citizens who have an equal franchise in this country. Nothing in all you see happening has not presented your principal with the opportunity of cutting the notorious cost of governance. Is there a greater opportunity to take such a decision when the opposition is all but dead, labour and civil society cowered, the Judiciary and Leguslature in your pocket, the military bogged down with rampant insurgency and banditry.

Tell me, is there a civilian President who has enjoyed such totalitarianism since independence.... none. This President has absolute power so he has absolute responsibility. History wil not vindicate his failings. Nigeria of today is crafted in exactly his image. Everything we hear, see and feel is exactly the way he wants it to be.

You simply cannot escape that fact. The America you quote has productivity leagues ahead of ours. They lead the world in several key industries. They are the largest market in the world for almost all goods produced on earth. And the dollar is the reserve currency of the world so the productivity of all countries using the dollar will always keep the dollar in tight bounds. It is just mediocre thinking to try to equate their position with ours.

The damning fact is that 99% of our income goes to debt service. America is no where near that. If you cannot isolate the failings in your own country I am just sorry. The man is in his 80's with less than a decade to go. How much of this debt can be paid in his lifetime. Who will pay the rest.

Politics › Re: Edo 2020: Obaseki Resigns From APC by Reference(m): 12:56pm On Jun 16, 2020
Once again a proof that the black man is incapable of organising himself around values and incapable of building things, of establishing legacies, of charting the future and presenting his offspring with the tools of advancement. Everything a black man does ends with him. If he finds resistance in his ways he cannot correct them, repair them and transfer his ideals to them. They must either be discarded or destroyed.

What is the principle by which Governor Obaseki operates with that has made him depart to the PDP. Nothing but personal, selfish and zero sum ambition. He cannot identify that there is a problem in the APC and will deploy his principles to ensure those ills are corrected even if it means losing his privileges. That sort of 'sacrifice' is alien to the black man. He cannot fight for principles, he cannot fight for institutions, he cannot build them in the imagery of what is best. He cannot leave a legacy to the up and coming politicians.

Folks, these are no leaders in the true sense, just political jobbers, turncoats and mercenaries whom string along a history of backwardness, disorganisation, corruption and poverty for any nation that has them in numbers for a considerable period in its history. Even Ambode who remained in the APC has done nothing to fight fhe scourge of godfatherism aka feudalism since he left office which will have done a whole lot for the liberty of the citizenry to chart their own future.

I'm afraid this is the last we will also hear of Governor Obaseki, his political epitaph reading.... 'He came, fought and fled, leaving a political space worse for wear'.... the sad tale of the black man.

Airplanes are not so different from submarines. Both involve structures that have to withstand a stark difference in pressure and temperature outside and in.
So how can a woman breaks aircraft window just like that from the inside?
You started well, appear to know your mechanics then you disprove that with the last line.

Yes both crafts are pressure vessels but the stark difference is the direction of forces.

In a sub the weight of water imposes 'crushing' loads from the outside inwards because the density of the air inside the vessel is relatively miniscule being at atmospheric pressure. Therefore subs are very vulnerable to additional external impulsive loads say from explosives detonated in the water.

In an aircraft the reverse is the case. At altitude the air has little weight so imposes miniscule loads on the airframe from the outside. However in order to maintain a reasonable atmosphere for humans to aspirate naturally the vessel has to be pumped full of air and maintained at a relatively high pressure.

Just like the tyre of a vehicle the air wants to escape fast. It doesn't take much to help it escape. So believe me it is very easy to break out of a pressurized aircraft. Why it doesn't happen often is that the laminate glass in windows is extremely tough composite and for additional safety it comes in two layers, sometimes three like in high flying Concorde.

She broke through the polycarbonate inner layer and was perhaps moments away from killing everyone. It is that possible.

Don't mind them. Nonsensical citizens. Expecting to reap gold from dross. Where are they when the citizens of the countries they admire turn it upside down to establish justice and equity, good governance, human rights and dignity. They will hide and attack the outspoken to defend their pet oppressors and feudal overlords.

If they can't speak out for the health and wellbeing of health workers they should go treat Covid 19 patients themselves. I have close friends and loved ones at all levels of the health industry and they have spent a fortune protecting themselves from infection out of their pockets, some working crazy shifts since Covid 19 shut down primary health centres and most private hospitals.

Meanwhile government's Covid 19 resources begins and ends with the PTF, barely anything reaches the ground.

A few days ago we were speaking about a former state governor who cut down to pieces the cost of running government to the extent that the state earns hard currency revenues from investment and it was on record that the state remained solvent through the 2014 to 2018 financial crises necessitating bailouts for other states.

They continued with their obligations towards their workers by prudence and deft financial management showing it is possible for Nigeria to get out of poverty and serial financial woes. These are the choices ordinary Nigerians should make at the polls but they cannot live above sentiment so they suffer.

Sorry to ruffle any feathers but will such an ex-governor bein Aso Rock and agree for renovations worth tens of billions and alleged purchase of a building for TCN worth 14 billion when your health workers are daily facing sure pathogenic death with only hankerchiefs tied round their faces.

We are not ready to divorce suffering in this country. The wedding band of sentiment will guarantee that.

Strongmen do nothing in a democracy. It is strong institutions that makes for good governance.... and in Nigeria strong institutions will remain an illusion until the country is restuctured.

I said in in 2014 and 2015 on this very forum that Nigeria in its present structure is unworkable, ungovernable and will mess up the reputation of anyone attempting to rein her in.

But when you have a structure with goverment as umpire and player this is the result. Until the development model is natural, that is, from the ground up and not the top down model we practice, we will never get it right.

The personalisation of government like I always say, in full view. It simply cannot be hidden for long. Just fighting one another for the spoils of a feudal state, the story reading like another medevial tale of treachery from William Shakespeare.

What is 'Tunde's' business with a long retired but dying Maikanti Baru that cannot be construed as anything but the retrieval of secrets and treasure maps and the complex burial of skeleton cupboards to impress even the indefatigable Indiana Jones.

Everything wrong with the Nigeria State on full blown audition in this melodrama called the Buhari led APC government that is sunk to yet another low.
