Why are we just realising this. We are just too mentally slow in this country. I have been yapping about the economic cost as the bigger problem surtounding the pandemic for weeks now. Called all my folks and told them to begin hunkering down but folks just go about as if nothing happens because the virus seems a distant threat. Well if you live on an ocean islanjd and you hear of an earthquake you begin to run not because of the earthquake on the other side of the world but the tsunami which will surely come. China is the economic engine of the world called the SS Titanic. The engine caught fire and peiple are laughing because they are in the upper state rooms. Okay oh. We are all in this mess and with a vaccine still a year away it may take that long to restore the global economy to a sound footing again. Many countries cannot survive that long without going into recession. And in Nigeria we know what recession means. Rampant crime. |
seunmsg:You can actually dare say something against a ranking member of the APC. Wow. Indeed elephants may one day fly. |
Mysticwebb:What kind of nonsense script is this. Have you ever seen a cow eating suya? If the judge does not behave they will impound his BVN and load it with undeclared assets. How dare you probe His Royal Highnesses. |
Testing, testing 1,2,3....this is a drill, I repeat this is a drill... Indeed humanity has proven that despite our verbosity were are pitifully unprepared fir Armageddon. You can then imagine what will have happened if a meteorite the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza had hit the earth... Or the earth's iron core suddenly stops spinning or reverses direction... Or one drunk Russian soldier accidentally lets loose an ICBM... We are as helpless as roaches in an.assembly of cockerels. You need to thank God for every sunrise and sunset you see because by ourselves we are absolutely nothing. I was taught a secret at a young age in the military. When you go out to engage the enemy in combat you consider your life forfeited and you mentally work bsck from that position to one of survival. That is the only way body and mind comes together to win. Live everyday as if it is your last. |
Liverpool will tear them apart. I cannot see how they will not conceed at Anfield. ...ps. not a fan of any football team on earth. |
Disgusting. Why should a former President attend to this kind of greed when lurid stories of past financial misdeeds and wanton corruption still trail him long after his Presidency. Shows total lack of judgement to be found around such company just when he should be laundering his battered image. Very disappointing. |
Untreated hyper tension. |
olasaad:Can you guys for once in your life leave personalities alone. What will happen when the traffic warden closes for the day and leaves the intersection. Will you still obey the traffic light. Must he remain there for life. Once again we blacks need an idol, a totem pole, a korofo with a whip. We don't believe in paper, we dislike information, we war against anything written.... If not how can obeying the written law be so hard. Must the governor be in office before an edict approved by the lawmakers of the state be in effect. |
Medicine in Italy is world class when they get their stubborn heads round to doing stuff. |
Iamgrey5:It is okay. Why are you folks so worked up about the Jonathan Sanusi saga. This is a country filled with sentimental people who cannot think rationally. You canot argue sense into such. This trend was bound to happen. The other side had their say. These ones want their time in the sun. Ignore them. It is not as if the funds alleged to be missing or misappropriated belongs to you or me alone. Everyone gets poorer, less safe, less educated when leaders maladminster goverment. So let them toy with their destinies. Truth or lie, for an agenda or not, what Sanusi did is what the public expects of everyone in public office. To hold accountable those entrusted with leadership. If Mr. Emefiele is not doing that right now it is him that is failing Nigerians. I don't expect those in goverment to attend tea parties, hugging and tapping each other on the back in smiles while the country rots. |
Greatidonis:I've stopped that for a few years now. No more marsh land crabs. The pollution in the creeks is scary. The amounr of oil in the water is frightening in the riverine Rivers and Bayelsa. Don't want dioxins and heavy metals building in my liver. |
Yeah. The black man cannot tolerate criticism because of his feudal nature. In a sick twist the one who should be listening and tolerant is now sacking fhe one who should be feudal and intolerant. Abeg, who is the king and who is the public servant between the two. Perhaps we should rename him King Ganduje or Emir Ganduje as applies. |
....Bird eating monster crab, hmm.... dem go call im own virus Landcruiser VX.. Abeg dis is no time for wildlife experiment. If e no get NAFDAC number abeg leave am. |
Just listening to his speech at El-Rufai's birthday recently. And just shaking my head. The north has lost a great opportunity. Ganduje will surely go down in infamy. History will mark this out as a point of opportunity blatantly missed. |
And yet they vote for a 500 million dollar loan to upgrade a television station hardly anyone outside government watches. I tell you the effects of the loan going forward. That thing called soup will morph to potable water. |
XANDERBOY85:Na. Gandollar looks more like Auric Goldfinger. '..you expect me to talk?..' '...no Sanusi I exoect you to die. There is nothing you wish to tell me I don't already know of...' |
Mr. Emir. Watch your back or the 'high table' will come for you. '...because by your action your life is forfeited...' Enjoyed watching Parabellum this past weekend. Understand that 'John Wick 4' and 'Matrix 4' will be premiering same day 2021. That will be historical. Hope Corona will be history by then too. |
Tajbol4splend:Haha. Don't worry. Suffering will take care of that virus. It will bend knees and sit buttocks around the table of reason. That is guaranteed. |
hakeemhakeem:So it is now you guys are waking up to what we have been saying: Structure, structure, structure. Now it is clear that Nigeria's problems are not about persons but systemic, so no superhero anticorruption crusader can solve. Aa a matter of fact Mr. President will be ominous with his silence simply because it is hard to reconcile the fidelity in the words of Emir Sanusi with the works of Governor Ganduje whom he raised his hands in victory and in whom he is very well pleased. In summary, I say again. Corruption is not the primary problem of Nigeria. It is her structure that makes it impossible for the basic, minimum standard of right and wrong to be done by the average Nigerian. No amount of Baygon will enable you have a good night sleep if you build your house in a swamp. |
JakeSully:Of this era. There ia just no way to compare performances across multiple generations when conditions were not the same. |
Zuorom:I tell you and I hope he has the same sagacity as the late Emir. A fine ans distinguished gentleman. |
hisexcellency34:They are the totem poles of tribalism. When racists see them they go wild with excitement. Like China, Nigeria badly needs a cultural revolution. This unity in diversity bull is the biggest flying elephant in history. |
Ask me why the Federal Goverment took their capital and headed for the hills with me closely behind to remain sane. I just cannot remember when I last experienced two consecutive days in traffic. Yes. 2003. |
Sent packing by goverment just like his grandfather. And replaced by Ado Bayero. If I'm not mistaken the very man GEJ tried and failed to instal. Hmmm... |
For your scrap book as well: If you are a mortician, morgue/funeral home owner, casket maker or funeral director and you think your breakthroigh is round the corner, think twice. In pandemics due to the high numbers involved and the infection regimes elaborate funerals are banned and even cemeteries are closed. The goverment takes over responsibility to dispose of bodies by documenting, taging and finally cremating them. You may then get the ashes by mail.... at your cost. |
For your scrap book. The last flu pandemic was in 1918 (peak year). It infected an estimated 500 million of which over 25 million died (mortality similar to COVID--19). Although it is called the Spanish flu, the origins were however unknown. Speculations are that it originated either in the United States or China. The reason Spain became notorious for it was because they were the only country to recognise it as an epidemic. Other countries remained in denial to prevent general panic which worsened the situation and prolonged its spread. Half of the casualties from the first world war was caused by the flu, with soldiers dying in their thousands in close unhygienic quarters. DENIAL & CONFLICT are the two greatest allies of the virus. This is not the time to play politics or argue with your wife. Be safe. |
obicoolnino:One to one and a half years time for a vaccine to be produced... if you can hide that long. |
ezigr8:I think so too. I think he should just let us stew in our situation. Nigerians will eventually learn what it takes to move forward. What he can do is to teach people what to look out for in good leadership and how to handle citizenship matters. This government will come and go. It is the lessons that matters. No need for name calling. Everyone is responsible for the failings we see today. |
BluntBoy:Then you donot understand what democracy is all about. You think that democracy is just electing a President, sitting back and 'praying for him' as sime say. Do you employ a servant then leave him to do what he likes? No. You set rules, instruct him and watch for performance. There are no secrets there. You both know exactly what is going on at every point in time. There is nothing hidden before a typical Brit or American, or German or French or Italian. They see it is black and white because they interact with government. They speak goverment listens.? and acts like true SERVANTS. Americans said they wanted their troops out of Afghanistan so Trump is pulling them out. If he cannot do that then he will have to explain to the nation why. Nigerians have asked Mr. President fo sack the service chiefs several times and spoken clearly through their Representatives. Mr. President has refused to do so and has refused to say why. Tell me why any citizen should not react negatively to this disdain. I personaly donot think sacking fhem will change our fortunes but in a democracy a leader has no option but to obey the will of his people at every cost even to his person. We own the government not him. There are no secrets in a democracy. |
valarmorghulis:I think to some who have lost their sons and daughters to abduction and death, who they sent to the local school down the road only to hear that their assailants may be rewarded with scholarships and foreign education is surely a hellish experience. I wonder how they can sleep. They must be seething in rage. Oga, no matter how you try and spin this. Nigeria is in a very bad shape now. Its fabric is weaker than ever before no thanks to an unprepared, overwhelmed leadership that seems focused only on its own agenda. Nothing said by the Bishop in this text is insulting or condescending. Most Nigerians feel the same. Nothing has fundamentally improved in the five years since. |
He is not bothered because he should not be. In a Presidential system the party and government have different power structures. Trump is not the head of the Republican party and cannot be bothered about the squabbles in it or who heads it. Let us not mix up Parliamentary and Presidential systems. We just love our feudalism. Why don't we just subscribe for an elected monarchy. Buhari this, Buhari that. Even a learned SAN cannot decipher the difference between individuals and institutions saying Mr. Buhari should intervene 'because he is respected by all'. That kind of bull is why the Nigerian still requires a traffic warden at a traffic light stop. He simply cannot organise himself around rules and cannot recognise institutions. He needs a bit and bridle to run straight and narrow. Mr Buhari should let them learn to organise themselves no matter how painful the process of turning a wild horse to a circus act. After all he will not be in power and influence for ever. Will the APC blow itself up after 2023?.... their choice. |
CXLVII:Hmmm... frozen comment. Your own na DSS go invite you.... then hand you over to MI5. |
