Kizzygentle:Right back, right winger... Exactly what are you saying sir? Finidi was a classic old school touchline hugging 7 for the Soofa Heegu. |
Looks good. |
Hahaha...the fear of ze 80million naira fine... Supreme Court cashing out on political jobbers. They too want fo buy armoured limousines to keep them safe from the mob.... |
Scammers cashing out on things that simply donot work. |
proclinician:It offers no protection whatsoever, just a placebo. What benefit it gives is that it develops a habit of not touching the face with the hands.... and perhaps reduces the amount of aerosol ejected when an infected person coughs or sneezes but as long as viruses remain microscopic and as long as infections are through soft tissue and as long as viruses remain active on surface for upwards of a week...masks are just that... masking the reality. It will take a full hazmat suit with independent ventilation to be absolutely sure. Just go out only if absolutely necessary, donot hang around congested places too long, avoid touching surfaces unecessarily and handwash frequently....and oh donot use wipes twice.... hankerchiefs are big culprits here. |
ijabiken1:You people have started roaming about instead of using your heads. A potential pandemic is at hand and you won't begin to restrict your movement. Are you nuts.? There are not enough doctors to handle cases in Nigeria. Donot be deceived. We don't have the resources to handle this. The Honourable Minister is currently on the radio just drawling. He is clearly behind the curve. Only this week will he meet with other colleagues from Informarion, Internal Afdairs, Foreign Affairs, etc. These folks are just cranking up. They are late to the party. The government is not ready. He is just hiding behind so called risk assessment. |
Then we better post snipers at the gates. What da hell... ![]() Didn't he know he was coming to a third world country. If be escapes then Lafarge must be held responsible and sanctioned. They had better charter a medivac and send him packing immediately. |
All I will say is good luck. I have made my peace. It is clear how the world will end.... by sheer foolishness and crass ignorance. ....And the animals will evolve to kill their predators... long after they themselves are dead.... |
Anyway I have mafe my peace about the favt I may or may not eventually get infected. I am in a close proximity business that has to keep running. We can self isolate tje whole operations but for how long. We certainly cannot work from home. We will PPE as much as we cam and stock up on steroids to keep going and my key staff will be goven all the support they need. It is the aged patents I think about now. Steroids are dangerous for them. They just have to sit their butts down for a while. Wifh all the information out there the goverment still let this happen. They have failed us in this regards. For heavens sake this pandemic gave us and the rest of Africa a two month heads up, God's grace to a beleaguered continent yet our ineptitude and corruption couldn't keep it out. |
MaNyEsq:Can you imagine that bull. How does he expect a foreigner who comes to Nigerian on business to self quarantine while on a time stamp. Self quarantine for half a month where?..in a four star hotel?.... is he Richard Branson coming to build a space port? If you were going to Europe or America or Asia for genuine business and were told at visa you will be quarantined that long at your expense will you go?...perhaps if you know you won't obey. No one had that time and money to waste. The Italian knew this. |
Clowns. The rest of the world has known that for at least three weeks except them so have placed blanket bans on entry from hot spots or insisted on isolation and bloodwork. Even some doctors I spoke with hete are not even aware of that protocol. Nigerians hate knowing things, hate reading, hate inquiry. Just leave them in their cocoons...man caves of ignorance stroking their pet habits. Someone sits in far away John Hopkins gathering stats on the Nigeria breakout and learning new things about the virus as it runs rings round our healthcare defences while we dance like Shkodran Mustafi |
DP. |
Yankee101:How can it be an emergency situation when they claimed they were ready. Nigerians and lies eh. |
Mikehot:Fantastic chap. Just fell of the radar. Guess he was no politician. A lot of technocrats the last time around. |
Nelsonnwagbo:. It is not a death sentemce if you are relatively healthy. Most of us will eventually catch it. Just don't do risky things that will cause your Brigade of Guards to be pursuing Shiites when Boko Haram is coming. Equip your T-Cells with enough weaponry and you'll be fine. |
Now I am hearing something concerning outside Lagos involving a Chinese citizen who came into Nigeria about a month ago. All medical centres should be on full alert. There should be no doctor or medical officer in Nigeria who is not aware of what is going on and updated on counter measures to this pandemic. This is alarming. Doctors, your lives are at stake. The Chinese doctor who discovered the virus is dead. Please stay informed. The incubation period is long. Donot rely on symptoms. |
JonDon12:Those are the folks we are most concerned about. Thje best advice for them is to remain inddoors for the forseeable future. Self quarantine is their only hope. |
This is what I am saying that no one seems to be paying attention to - the economic cost. It is not the virus I fear. It will infect most people eventually. Thst is almost inevitable but the cost? The factory closure or quarantine as they call it is the first economic casualty. There will be production losses for how long no one really knows and the knock on effect on vendors, distributors, contractors, staff... and the whole value chain then when multiple locations get hit, hotels, restaurants, schools, banks....and ultimately goverment offices and hopefully not.... oil installations... What is the government's plan to ameliorate the potential economic damage this pandemic can cause. |
leokid866:The IMF has promised money. Much of it will end up in Africa but how much of it will get to the grassroots and small businesses who will face the full wrath of this pandemic. My advise is if you are about to make a risky invest, absolutely think twice. |
We are not intetested in that nonsense. We are not morons. The budget of the Legislature tells it all and it is just disgusting. |
Haven't they heard that symptoms do not indicate the presence or absence of the virus. For a virus thst incubates for anything up to a month this is useless. Just ban travel from affected zones. They açcepted a flight from a hotspot. What did they expect. No flight from Southern Europe and South East Asia for now, period. There is no economic activity that is worth the risk. What stupid work was the Italian coming to do. |
EcoBrick:What nonsense is self quarantine. Thet should contact the Health Ministry and be picked up for screening by special ambulance immediately while the number of contacts is still managable. |
I am not even worrked about the virus itself. A reknowned American Professor of Virology has said this pandemic will affect 70 percent of the world's population so I take comfort in the fact that it is a survivors game. My worry and I have said it countless times is the economic cost to goverments, businesses and individuals. That is the great unknown. |
Insideout20000:That is economic calamity. The services industry will be quaking. Restaurants, hotels, eateries inti bankrupcy. Bad loans aplenty. Farm produce left to rot because markets are closed. Abeg citizens, ask your goverment what their plans are if this thing becomes a pandemic because I am a business man and we plan ahead to mitigate risks. This is a serious problem oh. |
My heart goes out to all medical professionals operating in Nigeria. The time to earn those wages starts now. You must adopt sensible methods in the way you work and ensure ab absolute decontamination regime before leaving the premises of any facility in use. Your life and those of your family and friends depend on your good judgement. |
olayinkadavid70:Not supporting that extreme position but the fact is that like the ebola case it is tending towards a felony when you knowingly travel with a viral infection in a pandemic regime. It is very insensitive and dangerous. When you donot take steps to protect others from being infected by hiding your status leading to their infection or death then you should be asked questions. Quarantine is not a tea party. There are concrete reasons for it. Nigeria just does not have the resources to handle this pandemic. If it gets very bad it will push us into full blown recession and hasten that vaunted currency devaluation. |
Well it is finally officially here. The turbulence starts now. My major concern is the economic effects of this pandemic on an already moribund Nigerian economy as the virus spreads and businesses are forced to close. Still no concrete policy statement by Nigeria. Ny question now is, was he the only one on the aircraft. Stuck in a tube for a 5hr plus flight surely is enough time and impetus for a notoriously virile infection to spread amongst other passengers. Flights from countries with cases should have been restricted. We are being extraordinarily careless. |
LibertyRep:Because they have scant regards for the people they claim to serve. They cannot imagine a king being summoned by his subjects. |
Nice one. |
This Great Man of God just attest to all what we keep saying on this forum. He took everything outta our mouths! It is just as if we are reading our posts here on Nairaland!! How we wish Democracy in 1999 started with a man like President Muhammadu Buhari, unfortunately, it started with bastards, thieves, criminals and looters. Well, it's rather late than never..We will win this war and all the sponsors and supporters of Boko Haram and the evil herdsmen terrorising our nation will all end miserably in life. They will never be alive to celebrate their next birthday. So shall it be. No be curse, Na FACT! God will continue to bless this Prophet. It is rare to see his type in a nation full of hypocrites. Truer words have never been spoken. God bless Prophet Mbaka. God bless Nigeria. Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn't see.
So what will you demand of the next President in 2023 since we have preset excuses for failure. What is the point of elections if things cannot get better. Because the way it is Mr. Buhari is in for a lot of blames starting 2023 by the new goverment. Infact that will be the fulltime job of the next government, complete with a new Ministry of Past Governmental Affairs. Oga, try and improve your expectations of the people you saddle with so much responsibility and far too much benefits. If Mr. President is your employee and Nigeria was your business what will you have done by now...especially when he starts blaming the past worker you sacked for the worsening state of your business. |
surgical:He has government support because he is a focused visionaire whose drive to success is unmatched, simple. Over the years government has supported a lot of entrepreneurs in various walks of life but how many are this consistent. If you were elected President, you will rather support him than those you know today. |
Sylraph1:The failure of this government on its 3-core mandate is uncontested even by its diehard supporters. No one is in any doubt that as far as security, the economy and corruption are concerned it has been a steady roll downhill. If the government itself has expressed helplessness then who are we to differ. But government has to trudge on. What is not in our interest is to expedite its total collapse. Anarchy is worse. |
