feldido:Godless relationships. Couples brought together by the devil himself who is an expert in selecting the most selfish in society to match make. The result is clear. The man says it himself. He is going to kill. |
What is the so called 'national interest' whose specifics cannot be mentioned.... global standing.... what the heck is that?. Mr. Goodluck.... without details the public is left to speculate and with the precedent of government we know the lines between national and personal interests are blurred.... I rather believe her own story. |
Good for the planet. Nature in alliance is fighting back. They were warned severally. The Chinese will dig up every mineral, cut down every tree and eat every living thing on this planet till it becomes as hostile as Mars.... but the humble virus says ..... no.... you will go first. Babe Greta will be somewhere smiling.... I told ya.... |
PipTick:When a society cannot decide right from wrong.... When society cannot understand what a honest day's work entails.... when a society glorifies money and pays scant attention to its source.... victims of crime become clients... just sad. |
StagethemTVee:Both you and Governor Dickson need to sit back and think it out a bit more. In the first place it stands to reason that you will take a flight from whatever city you are based to where the space port is located innit? Airports exist for a reason.... space ports are not located in every town. And to reach an airport most of the world arrives by train which is a lot easier to operate, rail travel is certainly more profitable as an economic proposition in a typical third world country such as Nigeria and the impact will certainly register on a greater percentile of inhabitants who I am certain will never fly in their life time. So you are both wrong. Signature projects may be politically expedient but true legacies are left when the greater mass of people are positively impacted. |
Very soon he won't need to campaign to win elections. Just call a family meeting.... sighs...just cannot see how we are going to make it in Nigeria... There are so many things that need to be learnt, so many deeds need to be undone... He quotes religion yet the middle-east, home to the three most popular religions is not as careless and cavalier as tjese people are. What is happening to us. |
logon599:His black genes in turbo mode... 'Actbeforethinkers'... |
Heard this on the airwaves this morning and I was just so disgusted. For the fear of expressing myself so graphically it is better I end my comment here and now. |
He should go to prison. The EFCC is not a prison service. No one should be detained there more than 24 or 48 hours as the case may be. |
Are they being given food and medicines because I cannot see how people will be locked up indefinitely without supplies especially the aged and others with pre-existing conditions. |
PETUK:What better way to motivate others than this.Aren't you tired of the wrong people getting attention in this country. Your country's national honours list will soon be out and I'm sure you will weep at the names we choose to bestow our most prestigious recognition. The spirit that seeks to hide the light of true patriotism and service under the mat and promote evil doers must be expunged from this country. The publicity this woman has created around public service is worth the entire budget of the National Orientation Agency for a season. |
Just a pity the ladies game is not as developed in many ways, something like where the men's game was in the sixties and seventies but fair to say that these are the folks who really love the game and play with heart and passion alone. Fantastic athlete, great personality. What more can you ask for. |
Sylraph1:Contradicting yourself is symptomatic of sentimentalism and as bad as the Miyetti man. Why should you have a 'fear' of abuse if such a body is legal... just like what the man is saying. So why can't you guys just agree to give ot a legal backing first before slagging those who suspect its intentions and demand its legality. |
The only thing the black man knows is violence. You haven't started operations and the premise is the threat of force just like the plethora of ineffectual security agencies across Nigeria whose modus operandi starts and ends with carrying AK-47 at the notorious 'checkpoints'. I hope Amotekun will not end up just bring an appendage to the police just as the civil defence came with so much fanfare but has pittered into insignificamce just because the eays and means are similar. Amotekun should be a different institution and I strongly recommend one based on real police work which is centered around investigation and intelligence gathering, deduction and analysis, strategies not just strong arm tactics. Something more cerebral and less intrusive. Only that can make it more effective than what is present. From the responses above it is apparent that folks have already decided that Amotekun will be a counter insurgency strike force of some sorts. Fine, if they have decided the west is some sort of war front. I will rather see Amotekun tackle the various security problems at source and interface with political leadership to ensure the socio-economic causatives are tackled in tandem. Not everything is gun, shoot, fight. |
justnock:No.sir. it couldn't have been anyone, just the ignorant. For times withoit number you are warned about the handling of access instruments to your accounts. Carelessness will always be punished. Get informed and save yourself needless trouble. |
AlhajiImam:Oga. You are speaking to the wrong people. Preach to the so called extremists instead. The rest of society cannot understand your assertion. |
While citizens of other nations can barely tolerate the performance of their politicians ours will be fighting to safe guard and protect their indiscretions with a vigour. With this level of connivance it is sheer madness to expect anything near development in the foreseeable future. |
Ausrichie:....see.them.. |
You will see how the lawyer will be berated and the peons will side with their darling oppressors. The story of poor quality citizenship. |
benedictuyi:Better shut it and sit down... then think of your life for a long time before speaking. Lazy citizen who is comfortable in his chains and confident in his oppressors. A Nigerian like you actually supported lawmakers spending humongous amounts on imported vehicles while rejecting local alternatives the same week goverment is complaining about the paucity of funds and raising taxes wily-nily. No single Nigerian can tie the two together.... useless things. |
Lynx001:Don't mind them See the reprobates above. The villans in goverment know they are slow minded and full of sentiment so they play the deflection card. Then they wonder why a critical mass cannot be attained for true change to occur. A people that behave like crabs in a basket. The man was rightly accused of not speaking up months back. Not only is he speaking up but acting yet it is he and the institition that makes him influential that is being attacked from a people too blind, ignorant and happless to be helped. Who or what then can cause docile Nigerians to wake up and set themselves free. Civil society they deride, activists they attack, opposition politicians they lampoon, clergy they mock. Who or what can help Nigerians abeg. |
I say again. A time is coming when the goverment will begin to fear the people not people living in terror at the feet of goverment, when we will have truly transited from feudalism to democracy. I say again. It is not because British lawmakers donot love to ride 50million naira SUV's at taxpayers expense or the American lawmaker doesn't need ten car convoys and a dozen gun totting militiamen in tow... but the fear of him who pays for it all will confine them to economy class. The days of so called public servants worshipped by those they claim to serve is surely coming to an end. All we need is more poverty, more oppression, more desperation to make it happen. You can see goverment falling over themselves to get visa bans lifted. Why. They love us.... No.... when you see a snake in your room. As you grab a stick you also open the door to allow it escape just im case you cannot kill it. |
AnthonyVal:But you know that no matter how sentimental a farmer is about his yam stalks, when the harvest is done and the next season is round the corner he has to gather them all and set it alight. A democracy that doesn't put everyones fortunes and futures at risk is not functional. Democracy works best under social tension. They will not allow us to rest so they cannot rest. When they say they want Toyota Landcruiser for 50 million you say they must use Innoson Streetcruiser for 20 million. Nigerians must be forced to work their country. Thank godness the world is beginning to close the lid on our crab bucket of a country. We stay here and fix it or die trying. A time is coming when public and government officials will be so scared of yhe citizens that sirens will be no more, tinted glassed vehicles will be stopped on the roads and burnt. Do you think it is by choice thst government officials in the west are low key?. They too want siren but fear of the citizens won't permit it. Nigeria must boil to that point, the fats of sentiment melting away before we can move forward. |
Lawalemi:No. Very true. Taxation is thd fuel that feeds the fire of social change. You are either taxed to death or fight to live. I welcome it. VAT should reach 30 percent in the next decade. Then let me see which citizen will induge in idolatry or racism. |
If the suffering will reset our thinking and burn out sentiment from our psyche then I want even more... since the black man can only learn from suffering. |
A simple understanding of geometry should yell you that the traffic jams will increase. The size of a 4 passenger keke is substantially smaller than the size of any 4 passenger saloon coupled with the fact that the smaller engine capacity will ensure that fuel consumption throughout Lagos state is set to skyrocket. We will be hearing from the NNPC soon. |
Nigeria doesn't know her industrialists, only her thieves so we experiwnce what we accentuate. The Volkswagen Group, the Ford Motor Group, the Mitsubishi Group, from Europe, America and Asia are three examples of what we call today 'startups' just befire World War 2. Recognised, supported, patronised by their respective goverments of their day and in the grave time of need, have become global giants today. The West just did not become what it is today by chance. Nigeria on the other hand stands no chamce of becoming anything like the west if our ideals continue to be so different and our value system so poor. That is why in our greatest time of economic, internal security, enviromental and all diverse challenges we appear so helpless and incompetent. The simple truth is that we donot build, sow, plot so we cannot reap from the enormous potentials of the Nigerian race. The day we go to war with America or Britain or China or Russia in any way are we not expected to fall back on the Innosons for fighting vehicles, the Dangote's for the cement to build bunkers and fortifications and the fuel to keep the fighting aircraft flying.... are these not what serious nations aspire to... true independence... |
hybrid77:That is what it means to appoint a technocrat to office. A technocrat will get better milage out of resources. If it was a doctor, pastor or career politician handli g those projects yoi can be they will cost 3 times more at the very least and probably be 3 times poorer in quality. Ordinarily people should vote for performance. Vote people who know stuff. Make our democracy a cerebral one. Leadership of thought, wisdom and mental acumen not one of sentiment. |
okpalaAnambra:The flyover at Osisioma abi.... One pillar per year.... chai Abia state... democratic Bermuda triangle. |
Told you folks. Nothing can work under this system. Policies, programmes, initiatives without the right environment is like planting masara in the Sahara. Without restructuring this country simply cannot move forward. You might as well try to paddle a canoe from Bakassi to Lagos Island with a broom stick for a paddle. No one will question you comittment. Only a mad man wille expect results. No optimism will make an elephant fly. No faith wil make the devil inherit heaven. You practice a system for 60 years and cannot identify a better 'next year'... and you continue.... |
When you make an institution out of an individual this is what you get. I repeat. If monarchies were ultimately successful you will not have democracies today. No one can do it all forever. Messi is aging so Barcelona's fortunes will age with him because the club has decided to place all its eggs in one basket. My advice to him is to quit when the wonderful memories remain. Soccer is an institution of the now, for the fickle minded. They will not remember his heydays when the inevitable decline starts. The Abidal incident was the first, a shot across the bow. He should expect worse criticism from hence. Sir Alex saw the inevitable decline but did the wise thing... one more trophy before the roof came tumbling down on Manchester United. Arsene Wenger on the other hand remained into infamy at Arsenal. Need I mention legendary goal keepers who overstayed and became baskets, deadly striker who became laighing stocks... The degree to which the fallout of pending retirement was felt to fans, the clubs and management was always a factor of how success at the top was managed. And in the case of Barcelona fc. The ultra long term dependency on Lionel Messi will be a huge problem in the furure for the simple reason that his influence streched not only across field, dugout and dressing room but even to the echelons of the board room.... interesting times ahead. |
