mrskillz:The truth which they conveniently seek to avoid is that the more divided Nigeria is along all demographic indices the worse the security situation becomes. A good leader will try to ensure universal liberties for every citizen, equal rights and privileges then yoi can tap into their inherent patriotism to ensure they donot consume one another but Nigeria right now is so polarised that the so called saying of my brothers keeper is for the birds. When our leaders cry out about saboteurs, sponsors, etc it is just an admission that how they lead is incorrect. Because I can never imagine a sane man sabotaging what is good and to his own benefit. It is when society is dirty, unjust you have rats running around. I simply cannot imagine a Japanese citizen sabotaging the Japanese economy or causing mayhem and mass murder in society. For what reason? |
Told you folks in 2014 that it was a big mistake, so what do you call voting him in again last year... It is clear that capacity is lacking at the very top. Our problems require cerebral solutions, new ways of thinking, new strategies... I was telling a friend in Portharcourt a few days ago concerning security, that success in creating a secure country is not measured by more checkpoints, more policemen riding shotgun with the rich or more AK's on the streets but exactly the opposite. Security means freedom of movement 24/7, freedom to conduct business or leisure in any part of the country, freedom from fear of crime... or will you give each tourist or businessman who comes to Nigeria MOPOL escort...? We must recognise that there are serious structural issues bedevelling this country that simoly cannot be solved by any leader no matter how well meaning until we all sit down and discuss Nigeria first. I make bold to say this to anyone who cares: President Buhari cannot solve the security problem or any other fundemental question facing Nigeria because he simply does not have the tools to do this. So change the service chiefs 100 times, place checkpoints at intervals of every linear metre along the streets and highways even if you give every citizen of this country a police guard, yes recruit 180 million policemen, as long as no two Nigerians agree on how they choose to live together as fellow citizens, insecurity will continue to thrive.... No be curse. Any leader that seeks to succeed in a complex country like Nigeria must first seek to get all her ducks in line, all the citizens he or she leads operating to the maximum patriotic levels possible. And this is only possible when every citizen is signed up to the Nigerian project willingly. Security simply means that the love I have for my fellow citizen and the solidarity I share with him is far stronger than any other prejudice of race, class, religion, wealth, or any other demographic. That is called a 'POSITIVE STATE OF THE NATION'. |
Dunno, don't live there. Retired from chaotic living just short of two decades ago. |
Ayade is a huge disappointment. For someone coming from an intellectual background to act so crudely is just sad. Little wonder his governace performance is mediocre. For how can a democratocally elected official perform without impetus from a critical public. It is just not possible. Democracy is made to work by holding power in a flux. No politician the world over of any repute is not under severe pressure right now. It is just the way democracy works.. And learned men should understand this. He should know how all autocratic governments end. |
FireKing:In the Christian world the word 'son' is used to connote a spiritual offspring, an inheritor of salvation through ones preaching of Christ. One who through you is connected with God and through you learns, grows and is established in a household, in the things of God. It may or may not be ones physical offspring. It is different from ones 'seed' which has a deeper connotation as regarding, vision, purpose and legacy. Ones seed is him in whom the purpose of God for a man is extended over generations. Because as you may know God doesn't share the same concept of time as humans do. |
Finally, after having Ishmael, Abraham HAD to send the mother and hitherto maid Hagar on her way just realising the implications of the disastrous decision he took to hitch her. Today the reasons are obvious.... only if both he and his wife had paid her off much, much earlier.... When the problem comes all the sentiment will pale into insignificance on all sides. If that secretary will cause you problem, that your generations will suffer from, please just send her on her way today. Whether with a generous payoff and your blessings is up to you. Just seperate the fuel from the fire and save your life. It is not spiritualism or preaching... just common sense. It is not sexist for it might as well be the driver or the handyman that is always repairimg the washing machine that always miraculously breaks down just before your business trips... sack him and watch the machine work well. Just common sense. |

... I can see a lot of ladies up in arms because of the perceived injustice done to the lady in question. But can you spare a thought for the fact that the life of the lady can be ruined if the scenario is permitted to play out. I have heard folks quit organisations where their morality was tested. So it can also be a quesrion of jumping before being pushed. Anyway how many ladies will keep their female househelps if oga is much happier when you reach for the car keys ....be honest... |
dwas:What folks fail to realise is that if he falls or fails the whole system collapses and everyone not just the 'secretary' will be affected. Then the issue of a job or not will pale into insignificance. I have said it several times. Kings simply donot walk on the streets and they donot do so nak.ed. Just one indiscretion by the CEO of a top company can plunge the entire enterprise into irredeemable crises that can undermine the fortunes of thousands. There is a reason the good book recommends that you pray for those 'in authority'. For example, uou see a series of skimpy dressed ladies bothering your boss constantly and you think it is his business alone. Think twice. The consequences could hit you hard as well. There was this company, name witheld for obvious reasons, a household name in the 90's but the billionaire CEO had a habit of spending all of his time 'spending his money', his office a Mecca for all manner of vendors and salesmen. I told some friends who worked in that firm then that they had no choice beyond joining the gravy train or leaving immediately. I donot need to say how it ended... What happens upstairs matters. If only his staff could help him... |
Absolutely. Remove whatever bothers you. That is the way God does things. No sentiments. As a matter of fact this notion speaks to me right now and confirms the decision I took in Portharcourt yesterday in turning down a proposal from a long term client in not meeting my objectives for 2020. And I mean very long term client. It may appear self serving but where principles clash with feelings, sentiments has no room. You simply cannot experience any meaningful success if you cannot put your foot down once a while. Nigeria is full of sentimentalism so we succeed in very few things. |
mgbadadike:We missed a big opportunity to get a man into goverment who knows how to run an economy in an absolutely responsible fiscal manner. Everything we suffer economically today, high debts, high cost of goverment, lack of capacity and infrastructural deficits are things he handled and successfuly dealt with while a governor. The least we could have done as a nation was to allow such a team just a one term opportunity to change our fortunes before returning to our sentimentalism. But no. So here we are. Worse for wear. |
....' chop him up from head to toe...' ![]() So what do Arsenal fans do to ol' Stan Kroenke... cremate him? |
Rather marry from a wealthy family. A family of values. |
tyup:. No sir. The effective killing distance of an AK is 350 metres while that of an average pistol, a 9mm Beretta is 100m meaning that at close quarters whre most law enforcement engagement takes place an AK round is more likely to pass clean through soft tissue. Provided it doesn't hit major arteries it is much more survivable than a pistol round which will flatten and 'tumble' within tje body cavity doing far more damage and making surgery to remove it all the mote complicated, that is if it hasn't broken into pieces which is just terrible. I have witnessed first hand 5 close quarter assault weapon injury survivals while in the military. 4 assaults, 1 accident. The accident one was the most bizzare because I was just 3 or 4 feet away. The guy was resting the muzzle of his G3 on his combat boot while we were gisting just before dawn patrol. The next thing I heard boom, the ground shook and dust everywhere. He did not safety after loading up. He was out for nearly a year but survived despite a torrid blood loss. A pistol round at that range will have taken his foot off. The G3 round cleaned through. Slower rounds are worse close up. |
CheedyJ:How can a defensive midfielder win a league for a team. What kind of wierd assertion is this. |
Dunno, but what I do know is that he is long overdue for a move to the club of billion dollar budgets where his sweat will be a quest for European glory and his six figure a week wage paid without media fanfare. His agent is either downright sinister or outright incompetent. He should sack him asap and call up Raiola. This is his peak and he should not waste it. The only DM in that bracket I will pick before him today is Real Madrid's Casemiro and only because of the goals he brings to the team. |
Donaldoni:I think that rubber ducky has long passed under the bridge. This ia just the manifestation of an already divided region. When I said restructure first, you guys were like let us get power first, then when in power we can do what we like.... well... There will be certain things thay will be extremely hard to reverse, others impossible to repair or regain... When a man comes to slap his wife every subsequent pledge of love is received with a caveat... I have come to say this several times. Nigerians are not cerebral by nature. We can only make progress by a bit, bridle and horse whip. |
alexola20:After so much damage has been done, after so much time, lives and treasure has been lost.... they now realiae what we have been shouting about for decades... the tragedy of Nigeria....its slow people. |
The only thing I blame Sowore for is misunderstanding the people he thought he waa fighting for. When folks repeatefly mistakenly say the problems facing Nigeria is leadership, this whole episode is proof of that error. Nigeria is the way it is because of the mindset of the average Nigerian who simply cannot see himself at liberty to forge a better future. Just two points of note to query the mind of that average mind: Before Sowore began his acta of disobedience the people of HongKing have been revolting against the goverment. Several anti peoples policies have been rolled back, yet they are not satisfied and want more reforms so they continue till this day against the might of a Chinese backed goverment. That is an A for courage and effort. Two countries are in my second category. One Iraq. A country just tasting democracy but the citizens especially the yourh are fed up of the same problems afflicting Nigeria, that is corruption, nepotism and institutional failure. They are on the streets day and night for weeks despite far deeper religious divisions than Nigeria ans under far greater military threat from a trigger happy, battle weary Iraqi military. A 100 mile human chain protest formed in India and riots for weeks over an ill thought off Naturalization policy but has united the largest democratic country and the largest ethnically divided country. What is the excuse of Nigerians please. |
That is the reason why such issues need to pass through the mill of debate before attempting to implement them. But obviously the black man doesn't know how to build a successful society so brinksmanship is his second nature, unending conflicts his first. |
Dunnigrace:I think so too. The FA Cup is organised by the English Football Association. ThIs is distinct from the Premier Football League. If it was the EFL Cup then I will be certain the ban will be in effect. |
NwaAmaikpe:Very funny indeed. Incidentally the liaison office in Abuja stands tall while at home the goverment has no office. They may as well relocate to Abuja to avoid paying rent.... |
Was surrounded by a group of Chinese folks yapping away at screening this morning on my way out of Abuja. And the FAAN guys were just smiling sheepishly.... I think this world will come to an end by the hands of the Chinese.... I didn't find it funny. Good thing none were going to Portharcourt. |
isnovic:After their 8 year tenure they will acknowledge their complete failure but still blame it on the previous goverment. Then we will collectively ask them the reasons for elections in the first place, if not to chamge a bad goverment for a good one. Nigerians, ask yourself this important question. What if the next goverment elected in 2023 is still blaming the Buhari goverment by 2031 in the midst of a state of the nation far worse that what you experience now..... what will you do? |
EbukaHades10:You will see that he will be forced to use the so called big boys in the second leg just to get the win. He won't gamble twice. Time and me again managers make this mistake. You can be sure Klopp will get a call on Monday drawing his attention to the fact that Liverpool shouldn't throw the replay. |
Now the natch has gone to a replay Liverpool's crowded fixture list is made worse. It is not strategically wise not to put out your best always. |
This is what happens when you don't respect competitions. |
Selfish people on course to damage the lives of those two innocent kids who did not plead to be brought into this world. Watch as they fill the psyches, the hearts and minds of those girls with bile. |
Chickens love locuts. Just open all the poultry batteries in that region and watch the problem solved asap. Exploit the food chain, stop complaining. Something naturally preys on something. Nigerians will be dying of Lassa fever but little do they know that three of their 'spirtual nemesis', the python, the humble barn owl and the lovely pussycat are indeed strong allies in deterring and keeping the rodent population and ingress in check whether one lives in the village or in the city, there is always some natiral deterrent folks in the developed world have in their arsenal. Ignorance is an African thing. They will kill every thing killable and eat everything edible that walks, crawls, swims or flies. The balance of nature is not their problem. Their ignorant spiritual leaders guarantee that. |
And what exactly was the basis of re electing this government for another 4 years. What did Nigerians see happen in the first term that they felt necessitated another franchise. We all have ourselves to blame for this. And worse still when we cannot stand up and demand performance, accountability and liberties. |
They need to get proper architects to conceive ideas for these public buildings, haba. |
Hmmm.... system collapse gets more expensive to purchase by the day... until Nigerians become more intelligent in their thinking and cerebral in thrir actions... |
