moscobabs:But the youth hail them. People support them. A country cannot rise higher than the quality of its citizens so.... |
Na so wahala dey start. The government and its security agents had better use their heads and engage experts in crisis management and strategic studies. 2015 has two months to go. |
ALISMILE:That is utopia. This is Nigeria. Tell that to the north when the next President from the south goes lopsided. They couldn't stomach a president from the minorities for 5 years, is it total minority control of government they will sleep with. Abeg make we hear word. The south always has to bell the cat and make huge sacrifices to make Nigeria a nation. |
ECOTERRORS:But it is normal. I have told you people to forget about this corruption brouhaha. It is not the problem but the symptom. Fix the Nigerian ship of State and sail is peace. Corruption under this structure is the default setting. |
deebsman1:But those who chose the path of honour such as Jonathan who admitted his shortcomings and respected the will of the people are being hounded and villified more than any ever (rightly so) but step back and think it out for a minute. Does the fate of people like Jonathan encourage or discourage others from towing the path of honour when in this country the winners win all and the losers lose all. We created this monster so we just have to tame it. We hate dignity. We call it cowardice. We call it cluelessness. We prefer the strong, brash, in your face, 'I am corrupt so what...' type of people. And there are plenty in the APC, party of 'many leaders'. So sorry. |
Flets:I have been saying this for a while. Government has been on neutral gear since May. Nothing happening. And when you consider the promises of hitting the ground running, it becomes very disappointing. The APC is far too complex to operate in a country like Nigeria. |
odeyemilizzy:Hmmm....I hear, I hear. But the one you have been spending and has been spent on you. Knowest thou whereth it cometh from ? Can you vouch for it with spell-binding alacrity because since the time of Eve, gals have been accepting forbidden fruits from 'snakes'. |
chidexxy007:Yes. He's a midfield disciple and a philosopher of keeping the ball. The only solution is devastating counter-attacks which Arsenal doesn't have. They have pace alright but loose control. Ozil who has great technic on the other hand is hopeless want for pace. |
aieromon:Pep has never been a good defensive tactician. Pity most of his adversaries take no notice. |
JDado:Na. The best they can get is a draw. Arsenal is no longer a big game team. |
tuoyoojo:Katsina-Ala.....please. |
izaray:Yes. Its an entirely new road in some parts and the alignment takes it closer to the Camerounian border than the existing highway. Its a brilliant idea for two reasons; one, it opens up hitherto cut off communities which as I understand are the food vaults of Cross-River, that is serious agricultural communities and secondly they can avoid paying huge compensations to communities where the existing Federal highway passes in the process of dualisation. If you are familiar with Cross-River you'd realise that virtually every local government headquarters is located on that road going north. Development is virtually strangulating it and it will be massively expensive to relocate and compensate everyone. Far beyond the State means. My concern remains the funding. Fresh roads are notoriously expensive to build and the number of bridges involved are just incredible. Wish them luck. I still prefer a railway as a better, long term solution to our transportation problems. |
Ola17:Hmmmm. |
Truth is that we have not acquired the capacity to handle a lot of things we confront. MedicNigeria is one theatre. The patient was simply beyond them and until we raise our game by option or coercion many more lives will be needlessly lost. |
Since Don left everything has progressively decayed. During his time 95% of Calabar South was open 24 hours a day. Now security there is worse than Kandahar. |
Firefire:Show me one country that isn't run with special interests in mind. |
modath:No one said cabalites are no technocrats. Some of the biggest co.ck.ups came from men and women of heavenly competencies. The problem has always been about who pays the piper. Personally I think the biggest boju boju was the 'I belong to' sound bite of PMB. It was unnecessary. Politics is not run like that anywhere. I knew he will bow to special interests. I knew he will buy a long spoon. I knew he will get down into the mud pit. I knew he will jump into bed with cartels. He has no option. Democracy demands that, politics demands that, governance demands that and the Presidency demands that. There were cartels in 1984 when he enjoyed maxim power. It will be naive to think there won't be any now. |
Is he kidding. Release a person neck deep in sedition. Mr. Kanu will be put in a very dark, cold place for a very, very long time. Crimes against the State are very grave. |
donphilopus:Still not different from what the PDP had been doing from 1999 to 2015, active on some, passive on others to create or entrench particular interests. The last time I can remember the CCT in the public eye was the Tinubu trial. Nothing since then and nothing else since the Saraki saga began. Is the tribunal therefore not a political tool. Is that institution not the same under both regimes. Let's see how many other cases they handle between now and 2019. |
kaeforum:If I say this again then I must be a mad man. Just fed up of repeating the same thing over and over and over while as a nation we make the same mistakes over and over and over again. What is government's business in business. Instead of waiting and assisting Dangote to establish his we are burning cash regime after regime after regime. Once again. Close the NNPC NOW!!!!!!! In 1984 can we remember what happened to cement availability and prices under Major General Buhari. It went through the roof. Cement became an essential commodity, cement rackets and cartels emerged and Nigerians in charge like Generals.....became overnight billionaires. Today we are a net exporter. Can't he as HOS see this and do same for the petroleum sector. No. He wants to further entrench government in the mess by directly driving the garbage truck himself as Minister. We learn nothing in this country. Pity. |
The robbers were probably fed up with all these crappy flicks you guys are unloading on us. Better raise your game. Sorry. |
Summoned the courage to do just that....This country has really gone to the dogs...speechless.... |
dammytosh:Hmmm. Sounds more like a desperate plea. And a major climb down from the position a few weeks ago. He should not be talking like this. Nigeria is not on the brink. We have far more in stock. Much more capacity than he thinks. |
sledjama:By your report your response to the fire was just too slow. Smoke coming from the engine compartment means only one thing - fire. And by the way extinguishers are not made to last forever. They do expire. Carbon-dioxide is a very reactive gas thus is hard to contain moreso when the gas is exposed to high temperatures found in parked cars in the tropics. Anything above 6 months is playing roulette with potential incidents. |
BALLOSKI:so. What is a technocrat. By the definitions I see here once you have a professional degree and were once in practice you are a technocrat, abi. So who is a technocrat. Which means I am a techocrat right now...abi. |
The honeymoon is over. Reality has set in. Time to walk the talk. |
Dymondgurl:Why not find out why the marraige failed rather that stack up against the 'society' we exploit to our advantage when times are good and vilify when things go wrong. The 'society' expects you to get educated and advanced. Why don't you kick against that. The fact that a union has failed has nothing to do with society rather it has all to do with the couple involved afterall there are millions of unions worldwide having no problems whatsoever and when I mean problems, problems that well within the abilities of the couples to handle them. You are a product of such. |
dalu:So what happened to suggest those injuries described. She jumped from a fifth floor window or threw herself before a buldozer. The husband still has a lot of explaining to do because there are a lot of things he could have done to prevent this tragedy. |
TonyeBarcanista:It is the general downward trend of things. When virtually nothing is happening at the centre but the drama of senate screenings. With States equally in a coma, of course its the governor's shorts that make headlines. I'm just so sorry for us. December is here. Very soon we will be saying a year of this administration is gone and in another two election bells will be ringing. What a time. |
zheroes:I keep on harping on bad parenting because it is the by all and end all of these matters. A car to an untrained, in-disciplined and un focused child is no different from a gun. |
Godfullsam:The system is bad and if the country is restructured, watch as society normalises and begins to develop. We know what is wrong with this country but unfortunately certain people and groupings benefit from the chaos, poverty and ignorance to project their power and dominate the people to serve their backward, warped ideologies. Our biggest problem is ourselves. |
Truckpusher:Well its the oil, cheap money you don't labour for. I mean what does a street cleaner in Taraba whose salary is paid for with oil coming from a thousand miles away in a community he probably has never heard of through a process he doesn't have any idea about and hasn't lifted a muscle in getting. That is why we are economic invalids. My friend. I am sure you are not a government worker. The reason you 'can reason' is because you are in touch with your income and the processes by which it comes from start to cash. You 'buy the land', 'till the ground', 'plant the crops', 'tender them' and 'harvest when due'. That is the only way through creativity and real hardwork to wealth. That is how countries move from developing to developed. They 'work' for wealth. That is why corruption can never be stopped because it is 'nobody's' money. People just simply donot take kindly to stolen 'sweat'. That is why we say the structure is faulty and until that can be addressed Nigeria cannot move forward. Our current poor economic condition affords us an opportunity to rethink but as long as the powers that be maintain the status quo they fought so hard to establish expect at best only cosmetic changes. |
