Nozino: I’m a corp member. It doesn’t go far at all. Most of them live in overcrowded family houses and they can barely afford to take care of themselves.
No wonder you think you can't survive on 30k, hen you finish serving, God forbid, you didn't get job early, you will know how to live with less than. 30k
Most people wondering how 30k salary earners feed didn't really suffer in life, they are probably those whom parents were doing well and didn't know what it takes to hustle at their young age.
One is even saying that he rather stay at home that do a 30k job, stay at home, whose home? to be fed by who?
I kept saying it that you cannot use social media to influence the votes from the North. When you hear the ovation Obi is getting from the cities you will be fooled to think we have the same demography of thinking across the nation.
Yes, I only don't want the Obedient to cry foul play eventually.
Why do you mean by North, let me explain North to you because it seems you guys in the southwest don't understand.
There are 7 states in North West. Kaduna Kano kebbi Jigawa Zamfara Katsina Sokoto.
These States are 90 percent Hausa Fulani State, safe for Kaduna which has 45percent christian. I expect Atiku to win these states with exception of Kano and Katsina.
Now, there are 6 states in Northeast. Bauchi Gombe Adamawa Taraba Yobe Borno
Taraba is 90 percent Christian state, Adamawa is 65 percent Christian state, Bauchi is 40 percent Christian state, Gombe is 50 percent Christian state. Borno has 30 percent Christian while Yobe has less than 15 percent Christians.
presently you can't even talk about Atiku and Tinubu to the Northeast Christians, even I. Adamawa where I was a month ago, Christians have concluded to vote for Obi.
Come to North Central.
Pleatuea Benue Nasarawa Kogi Kwara Niger.
Pleatuea have 95 percent Christians, the 5 percent Muslims in Jos North are settlers. Benue is 99 percent Christians, although Atiku will get votes here, and Tinubu also because of the tiv people hatred for Igbo candidate.
Nasarawa is 55 percent Christians, only that the Muslims have the political power, Nasarawa Christians so much love Obi, you can confirm.
Kogi is 60 percent Christian, although we have many Igala and Ebira Muslims, this state will be divided between APC and PDP, but LP will still get votes.
Kwara is 80 percent Muslim, and this state goes to APC.
Niger is 40 percent Christian, you won't believe this untill you go to Niger state and see things for ur self.
in all of this, if you still think Obi is a joke or that he won't get votes up North, then you are far from reality. People from Taraba were begging me to go and tell Igbo's to come out and vote, that Igbo's will be the problem based on the sit at home in the East.
Mind you again, Atiku Got 12 million votes in 2019 from same social media, because he lost his own state Adamawa to Buhari.
Snapchat: This is why Economics is a needless discipline.
Go and tell that to countries like, Us, France, Germany Ang Japan. Economics does not work in a highly corrupt country, Nigeria is corrupt and useless, don't blame Economics, blame your leaders.
Do you even have an economist in Buhari government? let's start from there.
In Africa GNP or GNI as the case maybe doesn't give a true picture of the economy, GNI is suited for Europe and America because money earned abroad by citizens and companies of those countries are repatriated.
In Nigeria, we use GDP which is different from GNP, and when you calculate our GDP, although improving but not what we expected, and this GDP is not even reflecting on the Masses.
Brunosamel: Lately I have been seeing husband's killing there wives & boyfriends killing their girlfriends due anger or infidelity but the truth is Some certain situations is very much preventable it all comes down to mental strength and capacity to turn negative moments to your advantage. Some of the ways of build mental strength is through physical fitness, reading and suffering or rather doing difficult things. It help to control those emotions and keep it to check.
I remember when I confronted my girlfriend for cheating on me I was heart broken but I had to channel my negative thoughts with positive feelings I walked away straight to the gym and lay the anger on the iron it was a terrible feeling that made me to injure myself came back from the gym channel all my anger in her kpekus aggressively she was shading tears and I didn't even give a Bleep eventually I broke up for cheating on me it felt really good afterwards. Ever since then I have learn to channel my anger on iron it helps me to think and cool off and make the best decision.
Note: She has been begging me to accept her back that she has not been able to to forget what I did to her, she has not been able to get over it. It's a game over cuz I have moved on with another girl life goes on.
GardenGreen: Besides your emotional rants, can you postulate a logical discussion and argument on the subject matter ?
I know your kinds. Chronic perpetual, eternal employee. Startup one ordinary business enterprise to learn a few things about how difficult running a business is.
She is even lucky to be given accommodation, na woman Sha, they feel entitled.
Yureyes: Them nor dey trust politician. Taraba has a lot of christians. This one na political calculation. If he was in state like Zamfara, he would have supported it.
Taraba has 85 percent Christians, the remaining 15 percent are Fulani migrants and Muslim settlers.
Subsidywise20: Again, subsidy is what government pays to the petroleum sector to compensate them for selling fuel below its production and landing cost.
We cannot afford to subsidise petrol...even with the stealing of money goung on....it costs far too much.
(I am not excusing corruption mind you)
Also, US gives incentives to some...the minority...not EVERYONE...as in Nigeria
You see that thing subsidy? it is bad, so bad that it destroys an economy. But what choice does the government have, are our refineries working? is getting our refineries work a rocket science?
The trillions going into fuel subsidy can be used to transform the country, but are our crop of leaders willing to do that?
Have some functional refineries and we say goodbye to subsidy and live better.
Petrol is sold for 180 now, transport of short distance is now 150 as of 80 naira last year, income is not increasing, this is what we are talking about.
Subsidywise20: Main reason for this scarcity is roughly that marketers and NNPC cannot transport petrol to end user at the current prices...because the cost of diesel is very very high...
Yep...actions have consequences.
1.Nigeria still subsidsies fuel....otherwise we would be paying between N400-700 by now.
2. UK does not subsidize gas, fuel or any other fossil fuel at all (and prices are high in part because it is taxed)
3.USA does not subsidize gas, fuel or any other fossil fuel. (They may give some assistance to the poorest of the poor to buy fuel, but that's it.). US has very high fuel prices...
4.Egypt was subsidizing fuel....but they have reduced the amount they spend on subsidy. Now they spend about 10% of what they spent in 2014 on subsides...and as a result prices have gone up (Reuters article on matter)
What do you think subsidy is? US gives incentives to it citizens because of the high cost of gas, Nigeria subsidy the landing cost of petrol, is there any difference?
The government have been subsidising the landing cost of petrol by the marketers, although is not fully subsidising fuel, reason why petrol jumped from 90 naira to 179, the recent increase, if the government fully removes subsidy then petrol will sell at around 400 naira.
Forget there political talks, the government can further pay for the landing cost of petrol but they rather steal than to help the masses. You don't know how many trillions politicians steal in this country, subsidising petrol should not be the problem.
popez: More hardship for the masses. What positive impact have APC made on the lives of ordinary Nigerians since they assumed power?
Our students have been at home for over 5 months now, the security situation in the country is terrifying, the common masses can barely feed once a day, what on earth have these !diots been doing the past 7 years?
Nigerians protested against police brutality you sent soldiers to shoot at them, you locked down the country and hid palliatives from us, and you still have the effrontery to ask for our votes?
APC should be begging for our forgiveness not asking for our votes. Nigerians rise up and take back your country from these drug smugglers and Boko Haram terrorists! Enough is enough!
And some people are trying to vote APC again because Tinubu is the flag bearer.
IamANigerianMan: If that will make fuel scarcity over let it be
Fuel scarcity can go forever, the scarcity is a ploy to increase the fuel price, soon another scarcity will come and fuel subsidy will go. Fuel will be sold for up to 400 Naira.
Sweet thing is that even APC members will buy at that price, there is no sense in supporting these politicians.
UK, US, and Egypt are currently subsidising Gas for their citizens, Nigeria corrupt leaders are bringing hardship to it own citizens.
OKOATA: My own is that since Mr BAT left for Abuja we haven't heard anything. No news and nothing at all, he hasn't said anything since that time. Is Papi ashamed to speak out ni? Sebi papi dey make mouth before say dem go labour in vein, dem don box papi BAT mouth he no talk since 3 days now.
No worry papi BAT, time for meaningful Nigerians to show you real pepper is coming in 2023.
The man go soon receive hot breakfast, he talks anyhow but he has refused to say anything now.
Djkenny080: Few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the governorship candidate of PDP, Senator Adeleke, the winner of the Osun State election which was held yesterday, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu, have stated that he is not aware that APC lost the Osun State election. Despite the fact that during the declaration of Senator Adeleke the winner of the election, several television channels and news media were present to show the live coverage of the declaration, Abdullahi Adamu maintained that he is not aware that Adeleke won the election.
Furthermore, Abdullahi Adamu stated that as for him, all the things that has been said about the election are just speculations. Abdullahi maintained that he must formally hear from INEC before he will be in the position to reveal the next action that APC will take. According to Abdullahi, he always read newspapers every morning before having his breakfast and he did not see the news that APC lost the election.
According to Abdullahi, the figures that the media has been reporting are speculations because the media is not INEC. It is important to note that the official result of the election has been made public by INEC. It will be understandable if someone feels surprised that the National Chairman of APC did not follow the live announcement of the result.
For now, the position of APC is that the party will wait until INEC sends the official result of the Osun State election directly to APC. Abdullahi note that it is only after the party gets the official result directly from INEC that the party will announce the next line of action.
Oddfinder: Tinubu is a dirty arrogant and egocentric politician. He is not refined and does not possess these qualities. Instead of him to campaign and convince ppl, he rather use dat time in saying dirty things, agbero talk, very egomaniac! I remember during the campaigns in osun 2018, wen he was accused of trying to siphon osun money through his cousin oyetola that he forced on apc, he arrogantly replied that he is more richer dan osun! Can u imagine that statement? In 2019 wen bullion vans entered his home on d eve of election, he arrogantly and foolishly responded by saying 'is it their money? Is anybody's money missing? ' he went to osun to campaign and arrogantly said osun ppl( opposition) will Labour till death.. The man's style of leadership has expired. His own styl of campaign is to mount the podium and make damaging statements, insults ppl in the name of campaign..but Nigeria have gone past that stage. He is not used to the current reality. Thats y he keep talking making baseless coments here n there..reason y obi is gaining momentum and popularity..we have gone beyond the era of such politics. He cnt catch up..its too late for him..wen d campaigns start properly yorubas will wish Osinbajo was given the ticket instead BAT!
of how
I wonder what type of people supporting Tinubu, how can you support a man who throws insult anyhow like a tout to become your president.
Anyway I trust Buhari, Osun election is a good example 2023 will look like.
Henceforth, APC needs to focus on more cogent things during their campaign. Talk about Tinubu's achievements in Lagos'
In fact, if I were Tinubu, I would mention emphatically that Peter Obi lives in the Lagos I governed and then, proceed to list my legacies in Lagos Such as Lekki seaport, Eko Atlantic, Lekki trade zone, BRT, millennium schools, enormous increase in Lagos revenue etc
They should also emphasize on the fact that Tinubu has never taken any federal position hence no one should blame him over what he has no hand in.
Also emphasis should be laid on competency and how it should always take the cake, not religion. Besides, Tinubu is a liberal leader.
You guys don't understand, you can't sell Tinubu candidature, what will you tell the masses about him that Buhari won't be in the picture.
Moreover, I thought Atiku and PDP are your close rivals, why concentrate more on Obi.
psalmz: I just sat down and did some calculations and noticed I spend nothing less than 8k daily on feeding my wife n kids and also fueling my car and generator, some one said I am extravagant ,pls how true it ?
Forget what all these kids on Nairaland will tell you about not spending enough, we know that things are expensive in the market, but truth is that you are spending too much.
How much do you earn, do you always feel bad when you spend that 8k? do you have a second thought when you spend?
If yes, oga cut cost, things are Baad now, no matter what you do, don't be a debtor.
Felimax: Atiku has been tried or tested. I will score him overall 40%.
Tinubu's health is a dent.
Obi, should be better off but he will be using his first four years to be doing a lot of testing the waters and if care is not taking may equally be doing a lot of the blame game just like Buhari APC in the past 8 years.
My take home Atiku. The devil I know is better than the Angel I don't know.
God forbid I make the same mistake I did in 2015 that took us 16 years backwards.
Sometimes you guys just come online and type anyhow.?
Atiku tested? how.
Obi, Tinubu and Kwankwaso have been tested, Atiku was a second man who didn't have any say in decision making. the formers were number one citizens in their states, they governed a state, Atiku worked under someone.
SU50: Get out of your comfort zone, look for information and fact, not stories.
Information? Fact?
I stayed 28 years of my life in the Northeast, I know Borno state more than you can imagine, I know about Shettima more than you and his administration. Shettima was ignorantly loved in Borno because of his works against Jonathan government nothing more. He did virtually nothing for Borno state Rather than looting funds donated by International NGOs and US government.
[quote author=Ademola47 post=114723709]Head-to-head, Obi might perform slightly better than Shettima.
It was during Shettima time that the infamous terrorist group, Boko Haram gained ground.
Obi, on his side, aided the Awkuzu SARS headed by CSP Nwafor that killed hundreds of people. So in terms of security, they both flopped.
Economically, Obi seems to outshine Shettima. To talk education and infrastructure, Shettima is ahead.
For me, they will share percentage as 52 48 (with 52 in favour of Obi).
But in all fairness, it isn't okay to be comparing a vice presidential candidate to a presidential candidate. Obi should be compared with Tinubu.
[/quot
Yoruba folks are very funny, No southwest Governor can compare with Obi in education, not to talk about Borno.
Have you been to Borno? what do Shittima do in Borno, man was an absolute failure, his only achievement was bringing Zulum into power, don't mind arguing this if you have never been to Borno.
parkervero: Trust me, Nigeria Christians are gullible and foolish. Wait and see how they will still vote massively for the muslim-muslim candidates and later wail for lopsided appointment in government. Christians in the north are the most stupid set of people.
No, Christians in the North don't vote for a Muslim candidate talk more of Muslim Muslim candidate, talk about southwest Christians then I will agree.
Niklaus398: Today morning, while thinking about Tinubu's choice for Vice President I came to the realization that if we allow Tinubu or Atiku to win 2023 we might potentially be under Muslim rule for 24 years. 8 years of buhari 8 years of Atiku/Tinubu (If) 8 years of the next northerner to rule(who will likely be a Muslim.
As a Christian supporting Tinubu ask yourselves this, would a Muslim accept to be under Christian rule for 24 years? Wouldn't they riot, kill and destroy?. But no, you're blinded by ethnicity and you're willing to subject the rest of others southern Christians to Muslim rule for 24 years because of party or ethnicity allegiance. It makes no sense. I refuse to be under Muslim rule for 24 years. Being under buhari's rule alone for 8 years as been hell...another muslim and another one to come we Christians are finished.
Now also do you care to think about what if Tinubu dies in office a Boko Haram sympathizer and maybe Sponsor will likely become President ..the north wins then.
Please dear Yoruba Christians I'm pleading with you in Christ name, resist the urge to vote Tinubu, Obi is a good Christian we can vote. Don't put us under Muslim rule for 24 years. Don't let our Christian ancestors weep for us.
24 years of Muslim rule is no joke. Just 8 years of buhari( a Muslim) we can see how the country is destroyed. Now imagine being under Muslim rule for 16 years?.
Please every southern Christians we must do everything possible to resist this.
And to CAN I expect you guys to give directives to the churches to tell their members not to vote Tinubu or Atiku. We must tell the members the danger of being under Muslim rule for 24 years.....we must tell our members to resist that urge especially the Yorubas. This is a fight for Christianity survival. If any of those two wins, CHRISTIANITY might be dead in Nigeria.
Don't forget OWO Don't forget the numerous Christians killed in the North. Another muslim rule will kill us.
Also those in the south voting Obi, let's make sure our extended families in the village is voting same.
The people is the structure!!
You guys don't understand, it is not about 24 years of Muslim rule, they will rule forever if we allow this shit, soon. every Christian will join IPOB to seek breakup of this country.
zed7: Interesting but unfortunately you guys are getting it wrong. If you want a happy marriage, focus on a good girl. Status should not be the focus, if it comes with her good personality, then fine.
There are so many good girls who don't come from affluent homes. Just make sure her family has self pride and are not leeches.
Just realize that women marry up. A certain category of women don't want you even though you think you are well to do, they want better. Look for the good ones who want you. They make better wives. Free advice from someone who's been there.
Same thing I am telling them, unless you want to file for divorce after few years, those high status girl are not what you need as a man.
There are good girls out their from an average but disciplined family.
