Abi,Aba gay week |
jmoore:Ok. There is an estimate I just googled that there are 37,000 shops! But it occupies 3 LGAs!! I still doubt, unless the area I have known as Ariaria market extends beyond what I used to know, but there it is. |
fergie001:Oga,I have been to Ariaria. That time too on the surface your figure would look possible, but when you take your time to look critically at it,you would realise it's highly exaggerated. One line from one end to another has at most 50 shops.Maximum 50 lines from the beginning to end=250 shops.Inside the main cluster itself give or take 500-1000 shops. To give u another practical idea:you can walk through the whole of Ariaria in 2hours.10k shops cannot make you achieve that. That's by the side anyway. Ariaria is one fun place to go to because that is one market that has everything you need in one demarcated zone, from electronics to shoes, bags, glasses, gift items etc. It's like one huge shopping mall. We even used to go there sometimes just for trips moving from one section to another. Assuming all the Abia State governments had had foresight,by now Ariaria would have been one huge manufacturing, production and commercial hob for not only the entire Nigerian market, but export. Aba itself is one fun place and it's only people that have not visited states outside of their abode that wouldn't know that Nigeria is one large fun enterprise with places to visit and do whatever business or you are into. Honestly, staying in places like Lagos and Abuja deprives one of the wonderland that is Nigeria, but being ruined by politicians. |
MEEVEET:Here we go again! Do u know what 50,000 shops look like and the expanse of land it will take to occupy 50k shops? Do you even know what 10k shops look like? I always say Nigerians like throwing figures in the air without thought. Even if you say there are 50,000 human traders in Ariaria I doubt. Then you are here talking of 10k,not to mention 50k shops. Ariaria may have anywhere between 2k-3k shops at most and that's being generous. For you to have a better understanding of how to arrive at a reasonable figure,do this:how many streets constitute Ariaria market or better put what's the total area of Ariaria market and using the smallest shop size, how many shops can fit into that area. Stop throwing up arbitrary, exaggerated figures. |
Rubbish. There is nothing special in flying drones. The drones hit their intended target area,so it wasn't a matter of hitting a wrong location or the wrong coordinate. It was poor intelligence gathering and inability to distinguish between a terrorist gathering and a civilian gathering. This was a failure of intelligence gathering on the ground and nothing to do with any rubbish superior training the airforce may claim to have. Someone can be trained in one month to fly a combat drone and be effective in it. |
Westerhoffe:Oh,how I like the posters on this thread. If there are just 10 out of 100 intelligent nland replies like this, useless people like the op won't be opening useless threads like this again. It's because many posters refuse to use their commonsense that the number of false, tribalistic or poorly fabricated tales on nland are on the increase. Legalaffairs: CrownOfClay724: LeeSmart: ShangTsung000: |
The average airfare for an hour flight in Europe and the US is about $80=₦80,000-100k max. Here a 50min-1hr flight is being billed for 250k. Funny and ironic. |
I believe the school. People can be mischievous because they know once you bring something to the sm and put out a narrative, many people don't bother to ask questions to know the truth. |
Woodshot:So she used him for rituals, then ran away and still remembered to come back to collect phones without tampering with his body. She also had to follow him to his house, not a hotel to carry out any negative plan she had for him? The way some of you reason in this nairaland is damn poor! |
immortalcrown:Influencers that collect money before posting stories. You think they do it for free? How do you think they make their money? From twitter view payments?Funny people! |
IkeIgboNiile:Just as I thought. You volunteered to give out your location because you are fearless according to you. Now you are being asked for it,you already stuttering like a dog having convulsion. If you are asked again to now state your X handle so can follow up on your claim or just even know the person making claims,I bet my left arm again, you wouldn't disclose it. |
IkeIgboNiile:If you have mind and you are not scared sh it,put out your address here. I can bet anything when you are picked up to prove your claims, you will end up looking like a very miserable fellow. Why don't you post this claim on twitter or Facebook when replying to this same news posts there. Its on nland you people hide behind phones to be posting wide allegations up and down because you feel immuned from trace |
IkeIgboNiile:If people like you are allowed to be constituting nuisance because you are on a faceless forum, then s tupidities such as this will continue If your type can be traced and arrested to substantiate your claim, you would be crying and start looking like fowls about to slaughtered. |
Be wary of anything you read from these so called news outlets: People's Gazette, Sahara Reporters,Politics Ng,etc. These are glorified blogs that neither verify any info they get or use their commonsense to know when something is true or not. How can Ooni have visited Emefiele, not even once, but twice the same day,to advocate for his release! Common! It doesn't even take commonsense to query the possibility of such a visit from a man of the Ooni's position |
Mbamally:Much as one detests this goverment, but the greatest danger to the Nigerian fabric are fake news merchants. If you read the story as published by RubbishGazette, you would see there are distortions and contradictions. They were trying to work to an answer, but in the process whenever facts are not verified, they mixed up and confused figures. In this particular issue, the story is a figment of bloggers imagination . All those saying social media should not be regulated would never know the damage till it hits them. Left for social media, NM and that manager would have been burnt alive for the murder of Mohbad. Infact, assuming they were poor, they would have been forgotten in prison by now. |
Nwamazi8:Anytime innocent lives are lost,it's sad. But hypocrisy must be called out:this cry is more strident now because it's not a northerner that's in power. Countless, documented strikes on innocent people, resulting in deaths of several thousands, occurred during the disastrous tenure of Buhari. Not a single northerner as much as even raised voice against it,talkless of asking any military official or even Buhari himself to step down. So let's stop the hypocrisy. |
philo04:Thank you. Nigerian journalism is now way too poor because it's now infiltrated by bloggers in name of journalists that don't have the simple training or knowledge to ask the right kind of people the right kinds of questions a journalist should. They just hear a story and rush to post or publish without finding out from sources in that vicinity the authenticity and facts of the story. |
Emyzoloye5:Not necessarily true. If he used excessive force and the girl started bleeding from cuts in her private part area,he may have panicked out of not knowing what to do and not wanting to call attention of the hotel management, watched as she continued to bleed. Unfortunately, uncontrolled bleeding is a catastrophic event. If you bleed for 30mins without being attended to,if you are lucky to be alive, you will need urgent medical attention and blood transfusion. Cutting one's wrist for eg,is still a noted way of committing suicide just because 20-30mins bleed frm the artery in the wrist is fatal. |
KnowAll:This one doesn't even know what an electoral college is,yet wants to advocate for it. How can you show that level of misunderstanding of what an electoral college it? Do some of you even bother to read and research, even if it's just dictionary meaning of something before opening threads about it? The level of ignorance and creation of ill-informed threads on nland is becoming alarming to be honest. |
Nland gone.. I doubt if diamond are that easily sourced from surface soils. It maybe another variety of mineral like quartz as someone suggested. |
SouthSouth1914:Whenever I see replies like this,I always ask:if the average Nigerian, including highly certified ones can believe that a man can steal another's manhood by mere touch or reciting an incantation, then believing tales like this to them is like believing the sun will rise the next day. |
Trace the blood and you would find the damn culprit. Fingerprinting would have done the rest, but no,they prefer to hold unto their beliefs because it validates their archaic belief in witches, wizards and ability of an old woman to turn to a bird and haunt anyone she hates. My first point of call and suspects would be the security guards in the cementary and fellow corpse stealers. This was a long planned and timed murder and the one praise I will give the murderer/murderers is that they know no one would bother about tracking and apprehending them because the timing and location of the murder would just be a goldmine for believers of a corpse as the culprit. |
MadamExcellency:Funny you. So you think Musk will be dipping into his pocket to be paying salaries? He already apologized for his tweets and also deleted them even before this latest Walmart boycott.Any other thing he is saying after that is bravado and showoff, because he has started feeling it where it hurts. Imagine having to dip into your pocket to withdraw $1b every month to be paying salaries and run a company.Even if you are worth $100b,you would know that is not a sustainable in even the near term. Staff too would be going to work with anxiety each day because they can't tell if that's the day they would be terminated because the company cannot generate enough funds to be paying them. |
Coldie:90% of things pushed out as data in Nigeria are either estimations or guess work. There is no real data agency or publication in Nigeria, not just African facts. The idea of data in Nigeria is u use your local environment or experience and extrapolate to the general population or nation. |
NaijaHelper1:Semi illiterates are now everywhere. Even with Google, they have remained static in their intellectual development. Even looking at the posts in this thread, you would know that asides the fact the Op displayed crass ignorance, the trend of support for his post shows it's the same person with different monikers or people in the same group posting hurriedly to support and prevent any other dissenter from posting,at least on the fp |
Worldliness:I just don't even understand these kinds of threads. Why don't you showcase the hospital instead of giving it a false tag of being the best in Nigeria, just because 20 white doctors and nurses visited. UNTH, UCH, Luth,ABUTH,have average 500 medical professionals per institution, cater for several thousands of patients per month in almost all fields,so what would he term those ones compared to a hospital with maybe 50 full time staff ,about 30 professionals? |
there is a difference btw attacking him and his residence. What the heading of this thread is implying is that the INEC Rec was attacked in his residence, meaning he was there. But the body of the story is telling a different tale, that the residence was indeed attacked, but the INEC Rec was clearly not around,so the object of the attack was to send a message, they were not clearly after the lives of the INEC or indeed anyone else in that residence. |
BlackhatMentor:Hard fact. Look at all predominantly black people and black ruled countries, all in sorry states. If Boers leave south Africa,it will finally return to the same state Zimbabwe now finds itself when Mugabe confiscated all white owned lands and gave it to the blacks thinking that would up the economic standing of blacks in Zimbabwe. What it only did was make the Zimbabwe currency worthless and the economy in shambles. They have not recovered since |
the mumu is even proud of his response to a client |
Since October and the god of the pastor with all the curses that must have been heaped in him by the church members(including wishing him death by fire,a Christian church wishing another individual death)has not found him out or his avowed powers does not extend to catching thieves but can perform other staged miracles? |
Clowns! When imported rice with taste and quality you can be sure of is 50kg for bag & 25k for half. Part of the reason the rice self sufficiency and imported rice ban failed is this same pricing issue. With the ban and all incentives to cultivate rice in Nigeria, Nigerian rice was the same and even sometimes costlier than foreign rice, even after the rigours and expense it took to smuggle it in! Why would anyone then buy a product whose quality was still not the best at the same price as one you are sure of the taste, quality and consistency? This lagrice should have been pegged at 38k or max 40k for full bag and 19.or 20k for half. In this way, some people would be encouraged to go for it because 10k or 5k difference is significant. You could use that savings to buy ingredients or even chicken |
