Someone should please let us know what food stuff we are actually allowed to carry I normally do not carry any just to avoid these guys' wahala but surely there must be some quantity one is allowed to travel with? Like someone rightly said, this kind of a list will not be published by the authorities because they want to 'catch' many people. Please if you have come across anything like that, let us know. |
@HRhotness Thanks |
Delta007:My travel agent usualy asks me for a photocopy of my visa page to the country I want to purchase a ticket for before the ticket is issued. If this is the requirement, how can one include a return ticket in ones Visa application? since one needs the visa to get the ticket in the first place, or is my Travel agent wrong? |
Hi Ladies, I shall be in Manchester soon, please can the ladies who live there kindly give me names of shops I can visit to get many of the products mentioned here, i.e Clarins, AHa products etc. The only store I visit for Cosmetics is Boots! A neighboor of mine in Nigeria refused to tell me where she gets cheaper perfumes in Manchester, she told me I would 'spoil her market'. please let me know if you have an idea of where she may be getting them from |
I really do not understand how you got the Masters admission in Dublin, did you apply with your third class transcript or it is not required? In as much as I find it difficult to tell an adult what to do, I must state here that if you were my brother I would tell you never to leave School with a Third class if you can help it. |
I made a request to terminate my life insurance policy with IGI in February this year Up till now, I have not been given my money, I have not even been contacted at all, everytime I call I hear the same story that I would be contacted. I cannot imagine what one would go through if one was to make a claim, if just closing your policy is this stressful. Someone told me to contact NAICOM, I could not get an e-mail address on their site and I have been trying the telephone numbers I found. i may have to try the fax number to fax my complaints to them Does anyone in the house know what is best to do?These guys collected my money regularly for about 7 years, now it's taking forever for them to pay up! |
Thanks a lot Viperman. Any link where I can get a breakdown on the 'trims' |
People, Kindly provide the website of any company that sells new Honda cars in Nigeria. I have not been able to get that of Honda Place, don't they have one? I actually want to know how much the Honda City costs and if there are any Promos. |
Ladies, Does anyone know if firming creams work? Especially for the bust after pregnancy and breastfeeding. I see them around but a bit sceptical, any one with experience to benefit from in the house? please make recommendations if you can. Thanks |
@Funkybaby Thank you. What's up with the online application thing? One must still go to the VAC for biometrics. So how does applying online help? |
Operations at the Portharcourt office was suspended a couple of weeks back or has it been restored? |
@nwando God bless you for this thread, It sounds exactly as if I posted it. I just got my own Camera phone two weeks ago and I am also waiting for the cost of Plasma TVs to go down! In all my years of working, I have never bought a 'tear rubber'(New car), although that must change this year, I am tired of this Cotonou runs ![]() I go on vacation regularly though (just like you!) and I am planning another one for this summer. I am glad to hear of your contribution to other people's lives, I am also sensitive to needs of people around me and there is hardly a month without reaching out to someone. I do not think you are stingy like some people have pointed out, I have neighbours who drive flashy cars and will never use their Generators to pump water for the use of everybody anytime there is a prolonged power shortage despite the fact that they run their generators constantly for their own personal comfort but they will be the first to start storing up water whenever 'stingy' people like me decide to do it! This example is just to show that many seemingly 'generous' people will not spare a dime unless it on themselves. |
HAH:Go to a well established Travel Agency, I know one but I do not want to mention it so that you will not think I am just trying to get business for them. A good Travel Agency will take care of this, it is what they do, beware of all the funny offers you are already receiving you may end up wasting your hard earned money. |
Can someone please provide Honda place's website or the website of any Honda dealer in Nigeria? Thank you. |
Uche2nna:That is true, Oando left me pissed off for 2-3 years!!!! |
IVY4U It is good to see/hear Niger deltans reaping the benefit of their God given oil. |
@eiete Yes, I am a sickler but I am not SS and I repeat, I am SC. I believe at this stage of my life I should know what I am. |
@poster I am glad you found out before marriage My genotype is SC, in as much as it is not the full blown SS, I went through HELL in my childhood from periodical crisis and could not imagine why my parents could be so careless, even now, Doctors pay particular attention to me when I want to carry out procedures that are normal for other people. I would rather face the most horrible heartbreak than to face the chances of having SS children. |
@londoncool. I used the term' I think' in my statement because it is my own reasoning and it may be wrong. The catch about the U.S is that your child gets immediate citizenship, so many women may actually prefer to go there. If Virgin Atlantic requires that a Doctor accompanies a pregnant woman once she is over 30weeks, it must be a very recent thing, maybe this year or they did not tell me the truth when I called to make enquiries sometimes last year. |
Good one, I fell for it My first Aprill fool, most likely the last, I do not think anybody around me here (my office)has time for that or maybe they are just pretending. |
@Londoncool I have had cause to check various airline conditions for pregnant passengers, I have never come across this law of being accompanied by a Doctor from week 30 of your pregnancy, what is required is a Doctor's reports stating that you have had a stable pregnancy and that you are fit to travel. Considering how much it takes to make this trip, I wonder if one cannot get good medical care in a good Nigerian Hospital with that money. I think what happens is that most women going to the U.k are actually stopping over on their way to the U.S. |
Where is this Jubilee-Life Savings & loans ltd? No address? |
Maybe because Nigerinas know there is not much work around and no aid coming from any state government |
How will a young graduate build a 'House in a good location' which will turn to 'a super money maker'? How many year's salary will this worthy project take? |
I do not know Joe Okoro neither do I know what his intentions are but NNC is real and I happen to be a member . I am sure the founders of the club will be very sad to hear this as they are young men of integrity trying to make a difference in this generation. You can visit http://www.newnigeriaclub.net if you have the time to do so and would like to know more or simply ignore Joe Okoro as he suggested. |
As long as you(I mean anyone) do not have issues with the US, no record of you taking what does not belong to you (like many Nigerian pregnant women who go to the US to make claims on Government money which is only for US tax payers). then there is no reason to be afraid of being turned back. |
I would advice anyone to be careful about claims on Nairaland, anybody can claim to get anything through anybody. I am not looking for a job and I do not have anything to do with Drag, , but from my experience on this forum, I know some people join just to carry out their business of deceit. A guy once called himself an MD of a company- DuPontmd, advertised a Seminar got people to pay into a GTB account, never held the Seminar and came back to the forum to argue with me that the Seminar was undersubscribed and that he contacted subscribers and sent materials to them,up to today my friend and my brother who payed and went to the venue are yet to get a call or receive anything from anybody. |
@Dupointmd It is a pity that people like you hang around a civilised society. The only reason I am replying your post is to make sure you do not come back to this forum as any other thing to rob people of their hard earned money (some people still do decent hard work to earn money you know?) Who have you contacted and what DHL material did you send? We have been trying your numbers since Saturday! It was undersubscribed and you did not deem it fit to meet the few participants at the venue to explain to them? Nobody at the venue ever heard of you as a matter of fact there was another seminar holding at the venue which had nothing to do with your so called 'dupoint realtors' My brother met another to be participant at the venue(with his own deposit slip of 10K) and up till now the guy too has not been contacted by you. Since these two people have not received anything from you I believe a refund of their money will be the appropriate thing to do if you are serious about your claims |
@dupointmd What exactly are you up to? Your doom is drawing near. You advertised a 'super seminar' that was no where to be found My brother got to the venue holding the deposit slip of the 10K he paid into your account only to be told nothing like that existed, he was not the only one! All the numbers you provided have been unavailable since Saturday and this was the same number on which I spoke with you on Friday. I guess this is what you do for a living, you'll probably change your name on Nairaland and continue your 'business'. But I assure you we are on your case. |

@dupoint. I do not live in Lagos or any of the venues you stated and I am trying to get someone to attend the Lagos event on my behalf. I am very particular about deliverability and I intend to get value for my money by making sure that every point on your list is delivered by you. |
@Yemi_66 I heard that Abbey has some properties in Abuja right now and I have been trying to get in touch with your contact-Shade but she is not picking up. , any other contact? |
