We understand Lagos problem and the present infrastructure in Lagos cannot serve the population and the vehicles. Infact that Lagos has that kind of population means it's a developed place because people moved massively there based on the opportunity that is there and I believe there is no city in Africa that has half of the population Lagos has. Lagos has the highest number of cars in Africa. So we understand Lagos problem. Lagos Govt and Our federal Govt needs to brace up to rollout more infrastructure in Lagos to help. I can still tell you that no city apart from Johannesburg has up to the number of bridges, flyovers, luxurious estates, islands and industries that Lagos has. We need more anyways.

I asked a lab scientist this question too. He said the reason they sell donated blood is because it costs a lot to screen donated blood before certifying it healthy for transfusion. I however have my reservation still.
UCH ,Ibadan has one unbelievable act. They tell pregnant women to bring someone (preferably their husbands) to donate blood for them in advance but when there is safe delivery, the donated blood is gone (I have no problem with that), the part that irritates me is that in the event of the need for blood transfusion, the husband is made to still buy blood irrespective of previously donating or not. That to me is scam!

That's because the lab has to screen twice.....
When u donate for your wife, they have to screen u of infectious dxs like hepatitis, hiv, syphilis and also do your blood group....
I think they also make u pay for the blood bag....

Now if your wife needs blood transfusion....
They have to cross match her blood with the donor blood, just to be sure it's right for her....
That's what u pay for the 2nd time.....

I understand it could be unfair....but that's the situation....
It's not a scam or some racketeering...

A doctor does not know about pathology than an anatomist with a PhD.

We were taught anatomy by anatomy graduate while in medical school....
I felt they were more interested in forcing us learn so much anatomy rather than impacting the relevant clinical anatomy we really need...
It was like they wanted us to become anatomist which on the long run wasn't useful....

I feel medical doctors should train n teach medical students....
Clinical knowledge should be impacted as early as possible in medical training- right from basic medical....
Only a medical doctor can achieve this.....

I agree doctors in basic medical science should get necessary academic qualification needed to teach in the universities.....
Exception could be consultants pathologists who already have a professional qualification....

PhD is very useless in clinical science especially for nigeria where funding for clinical research is poor....
So what exactly will they use the PhD for....
I think we should be pragmatic here n not just make abstract decisions based on envy n prejudice....
Fellowship in nigeria is thorough n deep and that's exactly what our medical schools need to ensure continuity of knowledge...

Unfortunately, Nigeria is not an ideal place and is far from being sane.

Even if IPOB became a political party, managed to win every elective position in the SE/SS, moved a bill for referendum at the national assembly, the other 4 zones will vote down the bill and all that effort would be for nothing.

The only way IPOB can get a referendum is to keep up their agitation until the National assembly moves a motion to grant referendum. IPOB's agitation was was starting to bear fruit around the time they were proscribed, even Arewa youths had started to urge the FG to help them get referendum

It wont be easy but I know that two things will happen in the next 5 years. Nigeria will collapse and Biafra will be free or a referendum will be granted. Either way, Biafra inevitable and it will require no war

If eventually IPOB persistent agitation forces NASS to pass the referendum bill n the president signs it....
The political party controlling the SE n SS will determine the outcome of the referendum....

If the party is anti IPOB, they can easily say they never demand for a referendum on behalf of their constituency....
They can collude with federal govt to frustrate the whole process....
Alternatively, they can allow the referendum but influence the outcome in their favour....

That's why the call for pro IPOB party to control the elective seats in SE is valid....

FYI No country is specifically looking for Nigerian doctors,Nigerians get jobs in those countries because they have a great labour force and they always look to add more people to the ring. Nigeria Is not even in the top 30 list of best doctors in the world. This is not to say they aren't some exceptional doctors around here though.

If nigerian doctors are poorly trained, they will stop coming for them....
Middle eastern countries recruit medical consultants from nigeria every year....
This are senior physicians who will practice without supervision....
Even US embassy confirmed nigerian doctors are good, the problem is the healthcare system....
Just like every other underperforming institutions in nigeria....
