Me_Aboki:
If you live in Kano, please verify where these incidences took place otherwise do not spread untruth; as for the torched houses of Kano political leaders earlier mentioned, these are immovable properties that can be easily confirmed.

I therefore challenge to prove your allegation or otherwise STFU. There violence is not against any tribe or particular set of people in the country; but simply against PDP and the corruption that goes with the party - the last time I checked, PDP happens to be a national party with membership all over the country. So how can the riots against perceived rigging by PDP be construed in a tribal/North vs South perspective really beats me. shocked

Your wish along with your ilk of the same mindset who only wish to propagate hatred and mistrust among Nigerians will not succeed by God's grace.

FYI, Kano people are more politically sophisticated than your ethnocentric prism will allow you objectively perceive them; if in doubt check their political history and voting pattern till date. angry sad
You this spokesman, yes, the properties are immovable and true, the properties of so many elites (I'm sure ALL are PDP members) were destroyed but you failed to mention the shops and business belonging to the ordinary man there in the streets which were looted. Are they for the elites too? And you said the violence wasn't against tribe nor religion?

How come all of a sudden you people realise the PDP are corrupt? Hypocrites of the highest order. You guy were used to shoot Yaradua into power in 2007 and were getting ready to do same again for him in 2011, isn't it? I wonder if Yaradua was alive maybe Buhari would have had this much love and people would have seen him as a Messiah. So far, I have been able to see sentiments becloud your sense of reasoning and judgement and you stink of bias.

PDP are crooks and I have been saying same but do you know ACN are crooks so also is the APGA and moreso the CPC which is even worse and devilish than all others. (All they need is time) I guess Buhari has confirmed this to be his last run, isn't it? Now let me see how far CPC will go in Nigeria afterall it was built and circled around Buhari and just like ANPP, it is going to be a past tense. Make una do well for Governorship elections sha. That way, we'll still hear of CPC.

Lastly, about PDP members and rulers as target, I'm yet to see pictures of Turai weeping after her properties destroyed. Aliero, wasn't he a PDP member and served as FCT Minister under PDP? Modibo? Bala Mohammed? Sanusi? El-Rufai? IBB? Atiku? Meanwhile talking about corrupt, you must be among the lot that claim SANI ABACHA was NEVER corrupt. So what credible business has Mohammed Abacha done to have so much wealth? He walks tall and nothing happened to his property nor his life.

Fact is most of those uneducated fools causing mayhem were bought and I've realised it is all about the money and when orders are given, there belle go face. Wait till after the governorship elections, most of you will see your ears with your eyes without a mirror. Claiming to be enlightened but still being pushed around by the new set of elites.

What you guys need is education but then it is there and you have openly refused it.

I expect some sweet talks from you but please try to answer those questions before coming up with any excuse. Try and brainwash me with your sensible answers.
PoliticsRe: Violence In Kaduna By Buhari/CPC Supporters by sledge406: 1:48am On Apr 19, 2011
They keep ranting they were betrayed and the educated ones type on FaceBook claiming it is not religious yet cannot state or disprove allegations of Christians and other "non-indigenes" caught in the cross-fire.

All of a sudden, CPC (Concentrated Punks Committee) who came out of nowhere with Buhari spear heading the party have seen every other most especially the PDP and elites as their enemy. No one has said anything after Yaradua was rigged into power (he had a good heart, so they said), now Jonathan is there (not like any of them is good angry) and it is a taboo. The seat of the President is so gonna be hot and I'm still singing 2015 and it will take only a performing and recognised human from the North who will be perceived as worth the position to take that seat, ever again.

As for the elites ONLY being targeted, I thought Mohammed Abacha, Turai, Ciroma, IBB, Atiku Aliero, Sanusi, El-Rufai and a whole lot are fit to be considered elites too but I'm surprised nothing has been said about their lives nor properties. So it is more of the PDP supporters being hunted which started of as political and ended up religious.

It really would be great if when people make points, they make it devoid of sentiments. BB supporters who canvass for violence and have chosen to be blind to the truth will someday, one way or the other have similar fate or worse. Then you'd know how the shoe hurts when worn.
PoliticsRe: Joy In Kano Over Rumour Of Military Coup In Nigeria by sledge406: 6:27pm On Apr 18, 2011
While on phone earlier with my friend in Kano, we tried reasoning and it somewhat occured to me that the Northerners can perceive they are on the brink of losing power cos Nigerians (reasonable ones) now know what they want and from who they need it from. First they know should Jonathan hold power for the next 4 years, there is every tendency it will never return to the North again because with the way it has started, that position will be free for all and any devoid of location or region.

People who will take the presidential position in time to come after now will be someone perceived to have done well in all ramification and fit to govern and there are possibilities of people all over coming to limelight. Talking about the Duke, Fashola, Chime, Amaechi, Yuguda and other well rated Governors and people ready to be involved in politricks scattered around the Federation.

It will surely be a close call I say but then again they know their fears and feel violence is the only way to solution.

For me, I look forward to 2015 as anything from now till then to me is just going to be film trick.

T-pia's comment;

@ topic

still no word from any media.

i suspect these so-called riots are a deliberate attempt by some, to further paint nigeria in a bad light.

mischief makers.

their agents are already on nl posting fake pictures and trying to shout down any request for links or sources.

since they know there are none.
You're a true description of a fish without a brain and having read other comments here with people paying attention to issues whether in support or not or trying to exonerate Buhari, I see you're really DAFT. A serious nutcase and you will never quit showing how foolish and how much of an imp you really are. It's not a must to type on every comment and I said if you need SOURCE, try being one rather than waiting on CNN or AlJazeera and its likes.

Calling blood on the streets and buring house a deliberate attempt to paint Nigeria in a bad light.

May God really punish you. People have been trapped in their house, licking their wounds and cutting their losses as well and you're typing grammar looking for SOURCE. With all the sources shoved in your face for you to confirm, what then will you do? I'm sure shove everything into your "toto" and smile that indeed the story that has been making rounds since morning is true.

People with sticks and Irons in their hands are fake pictures, right? Yet you can see Shekarau's face in the posters on the roundabout in the streets. (Abi na acting or dem draw dem).

Tilapia (fish), you're pathetic!

Just got off a 15 minutes conversation with a friend and a NLer there in Kano and has confirmed reports about the unrest with majority of the people causing this in the age of 10 - 12 years in his own words. He said they came close to his doorstep and what started as a political issue with houses, cars, offices and properties belonging to rival PDP member being destroyed degenerated further to a religious issue as they went around looking for Non-indigenes and also those who weren't Muslims. When they got to his gate, it was his gate-man who stopped them and said no one was in the house and there were no Christians there besides and he over heard this kids (who know nothing about Nigeria and its problems - - -who I'm certain must have been used to vote as well) saying how some policemen shot some of their "men" and they are out for a revenge. (Anyway, the gate-man gave them "pure water" to drink which was bought by a Christian).

He said, the people of "Niger" are more sensible than most Northerners. Although they were used to vote, he said they would never indulge in such as they never see it as a do or die issue like the BB heads have taken it to be. Said that in some regions, PDP (Jonathan) did get support and and when a particular CPC supporter came after the elections, he was full of rage and speaking with anger that, ""Why would such happen? Why would people vote for PDP?" (My thought then was, what's democracy without a competiton?)

Well it really is a sorry state over there and more worrisome to see underage kids who are meant to know what it means being educated take laws into their hands after being brain washed by some sweet talker who cannot even control his people and wants to control the whole of Nigeria. I await supporters of BB outside the North to show their disapproval and support to such happenings and I see no reason why any right thinking person would not link what is happening to Buhari.

PS: Most NLers are not left out in this cos from observations, many of you have shown that if you had a means to reach out to your fellow (opponent) after having disagreements to an issue, the results would be worse than what we have seen and heard coming from there in the North. People who claim to be educated hiding behind a computer and at every little arguements, rant like dogs on heat. Wetin remain na make dem put Iron and stick for una hand and una go show say una worse pass those malus without reasoning for up North.

BTW, the house of the Jigawa state governor in Kano was torched too.

this is highly Unfortunate! I supported BB and I am against this violence.

But only 'illiterates' on this forum would continue to blame this on Islam. I dont even blame Buhari, These people are almajiri, like many call them, are illiterates and are jobless. Their understanding of what is wrong and right is as far as their thinking enables them. If they were not, am sure the story would be different. Who then do we blame for the illiteracy, the joblessness, the poverty driving them to loot. OF course, the government.

The Government should be told to do the right things NOW. Name callings would help us in no way.
For you not to realise that the matters has turned to a Religious issue makes you an ILLITERATE too. #Gbam!

Why don't you be an authority yourself, formulate a story and upload on the web for others to read? Must you wait for people to do it on your behalf. More reason your juniors have surpassed you in every positive thinking and action direction.
Even the so called Al-Jazeera whilst reporting from ABUJA said they received reports (Al-Jazeera has not gone there to confirm but because it is an authority, your sorry arse will be cool with this abi?) about violence in 5 states ALL in the North where Buhari lost.

Unlike many here, you're the ODD one out as you choose NOT to reason outside the box. Let's take it one step at a time based on what we've read from here so far.

You claimed it was about Northen PDP leaders, right? Now who is being attacked, the Northern PDP leaders? Yet it isn't tribal or religious. Who are majority of the people that have been attacked and tell me what the have in common if it isn't being NON-Hausa or Christians or that they must have noticed them to be supporters of another political party. Yet it isn't religious or tribal.
Please come up with a better point and my concern is for the innocent souls out there and these victims of circumstances and by victim of circumstances, I also mean people that are traditionalist and pagans and rubbed of to be Christians that most fanatical Muslims detest.

Two couples were playing poker one evening. Jim accidentally dropped some cards on the floor. When he bent down under the table to pick them up, he
noticed Bob's wife, Sue wasn't wearing any pant under her dress. Shocked by this, Jim upon trying to sit back up again, hit his head on the table and emerged red-faced.

Later, Jim went to the kitchen to get some refreshments. Bob's wife followed and asked, 'Did you see anything that you liked under there?' Surprised by her boldness, Jim admitted that, well indeed he did. She said, 'Well, you can have it but it will cost you N50,000.' After taking a minute or two to assess the financial and moral costs of this offer, Jim confirms that he is interested. Sue told him that since her husband Bob worked Friday afternoons and Jim didn't, Jim should be at her house around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

When Friday rolled around, Jim showed up at Bob's house at 2 p, m. sharp and after paying Sue the agreed sum of N50,000, they went to the bedroom and
closed their transaction, as agreed. Jim quickly dressed and left.

As usual, Bob came home from work at 6 p.m. And upon arriving, asked his wife: 'Did Jim come by the house this afternoon?' With a lump in her throat Sue answered 'Why yes, he did stop by for a few minutes this afternoon.' Her heart nearly skipped a beat when her husband curtly asked, 'And did he give you N50,000?' Sue, using her best poker face, replied, 'Well, yes, in fact he did give me N50,000.'

Bob, with a satisfied look on his face, surprised his wife by saying, 'He came by the office this morning and borrowed N50,000 from me. He promised he'd stop by our house this afternoon on his way home and pay me back. shocked shocked shocked

I mean seriously?? C'mmon! How in the hell did PDP get 1 million votes in Abia and Anambra states? You mean to tell me that an Ibo man will leave his Okrika  clothes and fake goods shop to go line up for hours just to vote? Hard for me to believe that, unless an Ibo man he's being compensated for it i don't believe it. And by the way there are not up to 1 million adult age Ibo guys left in all of East combined, they have all relocated to Lagos to sell Okrika clothes and fake goods. INEC c'mmon, let's be real here.
Not everyone that answers you is Igbo but if you were sensible enough, your functioning brain would have told you that movement was restricted all over the country so tell me how someone whether Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo or whatever tribe would have engaged in their businesses on Saturday when their target customers are lining up somewhere to vote or are locked in observing from the comfort of the rooms.

aribisala0's comment,

it also depends on whose  daughter you marry if you beat baba iyabo's daughter you no go fit laav for long time
Abeg say something else. Anybody lady can be handled as far as they have someone they answer to. An insight to "The Godfather" (Al Pacino'c classic) will let you know that anything can happen but sometimes, it is not always jolly for the wife/woman beater.

ferdiii's comment,
women don't like being beat while men don't like being put down with words and behavior. So if you don't like this, don't do that. However women feel men should suck all up but forget throw-ups are on them.A cycle huh!
Lies!
Conduct a real survey and you'll have SOME ladies who tell you they love it when they get hit by their BFs/HUSBANDs because of the aftermath sorry after sex and fact is I know of someone who confessed to this.

@Ranoscky and Harakiri,

Nice points you've outlined and the annoying ish is many readers in here will take you for your comments and reason you to be a lady beater just because you decided to be on the fence and apportion blames in the right quarters. Never back down for a cause even if you stand alone and some heads out there know the truth but would rather be blind to see.

Yes, a real man must never hit a woman, I advocate for that 100% (but what of a woman that beats a man?---I guess the man is stupid or must be a weakling, right?) All these so-called online FEMALE activist on NL think say na bread and butter matter be dis. See how the guy has been made to look evil (he might be, who knows) but have refused to see the flaws of the lady for her daring moves and insults because she sees herself and her bobo as equals. Harakiri pointed out early that would someone in the right frame of mind come to his comfort zone (his house/home) looking for a fight? Some women out there are really nasty and they are the ones that should be changed but would they ever considered themselves to be looked into? The said beater's flaw is having an uncontrollable temper and who knows, he might have tried to exhibit control from the beginning and finally gave up. And since he successfully landed her some beatings in the first place, he saw a reason to continue when things went out of hand. (A situation the same complainer placed herself) What stopped her from rushing out of it when it first happened or when it fourth happened? His golden prick as long as his height and your investments (only God knows what) keeps drawing you back like a magnet. OP, you don't have a life of your own as no real independent lady would be subjected to what you are in. (Maybe you're ashamed of your friends laughing at you when you're out of his house and back at your parents' but remember it is better to be laughed at while at your parents' or your friend's than to be cried for when you're in a sack---you sure say dem go use coffin for you?)

And to all the guys who take pleasure in causing harm to women for no just reason and even for a just reason (when you can look for an escape route to seeing calm restored), remember, your time is nigh as you'd be paid in your own coin. Make una go find una mate for outside or try to register in KING OF THE CAGE. These women are fragile no matter how strong they claim to be, it is somewhat in their nature or DNA to "fight to finish" with their mouth. Ignore them!

The best form of dealing with a lady like a friend tagged it is "SILENT TREATMENT" (never knew that) and I tell you, it works. But over time, you should try to discuss the issues that caused problems in the beginning and make sure its ugly head isn't seen but if all you have is problems and shouts (quarrels) than love, stop deceiving the evil spirit in yourselves and SPLIT WAYS!

Nuff said!

Men are goats and don't listen until you walk away. The average woman leaves her abuser 8 times before finally cutting him off. The cycle of abuse only gets worse. Don't tell me BS about "He was so good for the first couple of years, and everything was sooo perfect". Examine your relationship and find tmes when he belittled you, put you down, made you feel like less of a person. Run away as fast as you can!!! Do you want to wait until you get married to him so that your children can see this coward putting his hand on you? Statistics show that boys often follow right in their abusive fathers' footsteps. At least 3 women in the US are killed every day by their so called lovers/boyfriends/husbands.

Are you going to allow yourself to be the next victim of a cowardly killer? Forget your wasted time and be greatful he didn't wait until you two were married before showing his true colors.
