HarunaWest:3 important basic needs of Nigerians are about to vanish before our eyes. Is it Buhari that is so smart or masses are dumb or afraid of him. No light, no fuel and we cant spend our money again. If we can successfully protest for days during End sars saga, why can't we do it again this period. The hardships is more than enough for Nigerians to embark on massive protest. |
Keeff:It only happened to deep thinkers, intelligent introvert people who always think deep about nature and life generally. These set of people think too much about their past than the present and future. It is true they may experience stagnation or lack of real progress in life. The only remedy to that is to live for the present. Stop thinking about yesterday that you cannot recover and the future that have never come. You may plan for the future but don't allow that to deprive you from living the present. |
This is a way to go, I supported this with CBN. This is the best way to make people adopt electronic transactions. By the time you need 100k, and the banks pay you with 5 naira notes, no one will teach you to make electronic transfer. 1000, 500 and 200 naira notes must be very scarce. |
kingsways:So you will use bank transfer to send money to taxi local drivers, road side huckers, at local restaurants, to mallams selling Suya, local meat sellers, etc? I don't want to believe government are doing this to curb votes buying during election, because it doesn't make any sense. Politicians are the least to suffer a shortage of new naira notes. Even ordinary rich people are getting it in abundant, let alone Politicians who have alot of friends, families and associations at CBN and other commercial banks. Is like you'd lost touch with reality. I saw hell since yesterday despite having money in my accounts. Spents hours at banks ATMs on Saturday without getting a single naira note. Anyway, not surprise, some of you guys are kids who are still being fed by your parents. A sensible CBN governor would've simply discourage cash transactions by making ATM dispense lower denominations, heavy charges on OTC transactions and aggressive sensitization of locals on the uses of electronic transactions. 90% of printed notes should be #100 or less, with this method, people would be forced to make electronic fransfer by themselves. |
honor4me:If BOVAs could be selling below 200/per litre all over Nigeria, what makes other petrol stationd selling at outrageous price above 300/per litre? Nigerians are terrible people, and the funniest things is that, no one will question these people but keep blaming government. Alot of producers and marketers are taking advantage of APC bad governance to milk the masses dry because they know we won't question them because of our hatred for APC. |
iLoveYouToo:Politicians are very well aware of this, reason they take people for fools, in which they truly are. If only majority know that most of the problems facing the country are instituted by state governors and Federal law makers, they would've Stoned these wicked souls to dead. |
It depends on each family. Last born are mostly spoiled and enjoy the most in rich homes, while in poor homes, they may not enjoy the same privilege as their older siblings. The only time they enjoy is if the older siblings are rich and nice to them. |
TechW:Nobody but returning of the country back to regionalism through referendum or plebiscite. Nigeria can't work with this kind of federal system of government, simple. Let quit this nonsense of supporting these thieves along religions or ethnic sentiments. 1 millions Obi can't fix Nigeria with her highly corrupt institutions. Presidential system of government is a curse to Africa, Nigeria in particular. Obi won't force governors, national assembly members and other independent elected officials to do what they are not ready to do because current constitution won't allow him to do so. Besides, it is quite unfortunate that many people fail to see that Obi too is as corrupt as Tinubu and Atiku, someone that can't be trusted with his words. If a man can boldly swear that he would quit politics the day he leaves APGA, and still jump ship from APGA to PDP and now Labour party, then you need to think twice before you believe such a man. It is quite unfortunate that many of us will neglect our local governments, state governments and keep hoping a president will come and solve our problems. 99% of problems are caused by mismanagement of public funds at states and local governments levell, yet we will keep calling out president up and down. Alot of youths don't even know the function of levels or arms of government, let alone knowing their rights. For me and my entire household, we give up on Nigeria and her election entirely until we are ready to go back to regionalism where local governments authorities will be paramount important. |
specialmati:Could you please reason with your brain. Someone as big as Tinubu won't have any issue getting billions of new notes to spend, it is you and I that will feel the pain not him. You people should stop being childish on Nairaland, no politician including Obi worth defending with your life or personal integrity. They are the same( thieves). Is it not the same Obi that visited Ahmed Gumi a renowned terrorist sympathiser for his support. That is how he would align with all these thieves in which he is part of when he eventually become president. Let start campaign for regionalism or true federalism that will bring government closer to a common man rather than hyping a failure to rescue you in this unfortunate presidential system of government we are operating. |
yarimo:So painful to see the supposed enlighten youths criticise the man ignorantly on Nairaland. We hate APC fine, but that doesn't mean we should not reason with our brains. How can a reasonable government set a deadline and refuse to supply the new naira notes to the public. It maybe true they are doing this for a purpose including fuel scarcity. I spents almost 4 hours this morning looking for new naira notes to withdraw, majority of ATMs did not work, only few that work stopped working along the line. I eventually go to POS to withdraw the old notes, thank God some are still accepting it. If January 31st deadline stands, I am 100% sure alot of these illiterate God forsaken youths will be seriously crying in their various homes by this time next week. |
Workch:Election is a secrete ballot, how would you have known that opposition party is winning before the declaration of results at PU? No one can do that except the party have zero hope of getting votes from the said opposition strongholds. Besides, if you were the opposition, would you've used the opportunity you have to do over voting instead of adding it to the main score within accreditation figure and boost your chance? In as much as some of us hate APC (including myself), let be logical whenever other parties did wrong against them. |
ogatboy:It is a simple logic man. If you mistakenly paid #1200 for a loaf of bread instead of #1000, and you later discovered much later after eating the bread, in which seller attest to your mistake. How much would you pay the seller next time you are buying 1k bread? |
Kingsmeal:A sensible person is telling you a bitter truth, then out of your myopic reasoning, you are calling him names. Tell me how on earth will a president perform well in this current political arrangements and thousands of highly corrupt government officials? Nigeria don't need a president to fight corruption, but strong institutions to enforce law. If Obi win today, thousands of these old thieves will quickly move to Labour party and continue their business as usual, obi too will want to go for second term, hence alone them to have their ways. Nothing concern me with this election, when youths are ready to fight for regionalism or true federalism rather than clamouring for another failure of politician, then i will participate in whatever means necessary. |
KingKO22:Take it or leave it, he is the only politician alive that can face or tackle Northern oligarchy. There are 3 of them that the Northern power brokers fear the most, and can do anything to denies them federal power. 1. Obafemi Awolowo 2. MkO Abiola 3. Now the last of them, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. After this baba, Nigeria will never see this kind of powerful highly domineering politician ever again, which I think is good for our political development. |
lhordspy:Exactly, it makes me conclude that majority of Nigeria youths, especially on Nairaland are not that intelligent. The kind of irrational hatred, misinformation and lack of political knowledges going on in this forum is worrisome. |
Nwaezeudo:Hmmmmmm, take it easy man. All of them are black market for now. What make you think Obi too will do as you wish when he get there? You don't need to insult his personality to prove a point. Besides, why mocking his age when you too will be old one day like him? We all know APC has disappointed us, and should be wary of before voting them again, so a rational mind don't need to insult Tinubu who is never part of the government but cast his/her vote to the best candidate of his/her choice. |
If I had the power, I will prohibit females from joining anything military. Women are naturally bestowed with power to make society function through their gathering skills and ability to nurture the young ones and maintaining the household. Women are better off in the offices, markets and as artisans than carrying guns up and down looking for what is not lost. If the real war come now, they will quickly remove their uniforms and join other females at protective zones, so what is the point of keeping them in the military. |
Tinubuadvocate:Nigeria may withness a very serious civil unrest if power remain in the North. It was between government and some groups/agitators, but then would be between government and many agitating groups backs by elites and politicians. The president would want to use force to silent them, which will further aggravate the situation. Another scenario is forceful restructure. Southern opposition politicians in collaborate with SGF, law makers, Tinubu allies, Obi supporters and formal PDP G-5 headed by Wike will do whatever in their capacity to push for regionalism. |
Invest4growth:Exactly, even Yorubas has started questioning themselves why they should vote for anything APC again. How can can a party that want to win election allow lingering fuel scarcity and naira redesign policy/scarcity of new naira notes a month to election. The pain is unbearable for the masses, like you've rightly said, a protest vote, especially in the South may send APC packing. |
jeromestarks:There is big difference between what you borrow and what you gave as gifts. You should have giving him the 10k before the 70k or 60k gift. Learn to fulfil your promise to people even though you did them a big favour. |
Xchii:And after the said total disintegration, who and who will champion the courses of each nationality if not the same hopelessly corrupt elites/politicians? We need to test the process first through Regionalisation or true federalism where each geo-political zone will be totally independent and pay royalty to federal government to manage national armies and foreign affairs. Regionalisation is a stepping stone to self determination or independent. You can't just wake up and demand for the country to break up without considering some issues attaching us collectively. It is a recipe for disaster to start a new country with these set of Nigerians (including me and you), without making the current system work and produce better humans resources that will champion the courses of new nation. |
Nasige:Not biblical to the best of my knowledge. This is why people see Christianity as a joke of religion. These crook called themselves pastors/Bishops always bend the rules where it doesn't suit them. Timothy 2: 11. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 2:12 . But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. Deuteronomy 4:2, You must not add anything to what I command you or take anything away from it, so that you may keep the commands of the Lord your God I am giving you. |
olab059:Lolz, the remaining 1% are states, and federal first ladies, top CEO who earns in Dollars, and Mrs. Folorunso Alakija category of women. If op is not among these kind of women, bring #2.5m and let me have her house address. |
Fazeman25:The funniest of it all is that, if you give the same op giving out warning #2.5m, she won't think twice to open her legs yakata. 99% of Nigeria women, married or single can hardly reject huge money for sex, especially where they won't be caught. |
Porpulace:Government do to other courses as well but not as significant as medical departments. Go to any federal University, the difference in tuition fees between medical science students and others are just token. I gave an example of during my time in school in another post. It is still the same today, and they enjoy more facilities than other students on campus. |
Kobonaire4:You are 100% right. Unlike those quoting me up and down without considering the capacity of government to pay them the same amount as their colleagues oversee. If doctors are paying 6 millions naira a month and government stopped subsidising the sector, how many of us can spent over $50k to acquire the training in our universities here? How many of us can pay $10,000 for a surgery we can easily get less than 200k here in Nigeria? |
