Barka jum'ah |
These days relatives are already waiting for 'uncle' or 'aunty' to get married so they'll go and live with them. Nuclear family is becoming very unpopular. One of the reasons for failed and/or troubled marriages. |
Don't look at anyone as an ingrate. How? When you do a favour unto someone, do not expect thanks or gratitude from them. Hope for reward only from your Lord. Actually, look at all favours you do as storing up good for yourself rather than seeing it as helping others. |
Thank you for sharing. Where have you been? I have personally missed you around here. |
Jum'ah day jum'ah day is a blessed day. . . barka jum'ah evreyone. Alhamdulilah we're witnessing yet another jum'ah. |
he wouldn't even ask me. And I won't even let him know I'm going into labour because he'll kill himself with anxiety. I'd rather have the baby and give him the good news afterwards. haba! My dad in labour room with me? Capital NO! |

common storyline in nollywood. Tell us another story joo. This one has gone stale. |
They have no dignity. Do not respect the marriage institution. They're easily manipulated and lack the strong will to resist temptation. Believe they're polygamous in nature and can't be satisfied by one woman. Believe they're handsome or rich or whatever to make women fall for them. And of course, They're never satisfied with the good things they have in their reach and so go out to look for what will bring trouble into their lives. |
The issue with technical schools is that people have seen those who go there as mediocre. And mostly, parents only send those of their children who aren't performing well academically in their regular schools there. I'm yet to see a parent, or even a child who willingly chooses to go to a technical school except for the reason of not performing well in the 'real school'. And again, most of the kids you find there are usually teenagers who are almost past secondary school age, mostly cousins, nieces, nephews brought from villages by one philanthropic aunt or uncle to just have a form of formal education. With all these in mind, I won't send my kids to a technical school. No no no. I stand to be corrected though. |
Nice manners! I believe more in practicing those things before my kids than always telling them 'do'! 'don't!. Practicals really work well with kids as they tend to imitate adults around them especially their parents and teachers. Let me also add that it's better to always use the positive and leave out the negative when instructing kids. For example, instead of saying Don't leave the door open. Don't eat with your left hand. rather say: Always shut the door. You should eat with your right hand. |
Wow! This is wonderful and interesting, coming from a man. Good pieces of advise there. I agree with you, it has to do with the mindset and determination not to cheat because temptations are always there not for men alone but women also. A person who claims to have cheated because of temptation has no mind of his/her own or is simply looking for excuses. |
This is a good write-up. |

Though the issue is almost closed, I found something interesting here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-137669.0.html |

Babies reach their developmental milestones at different times, so the 1st thing you should always have in mind is not to compare your baby with any other. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with your baby as long as he/she has started sitting up. some babies take their time before doing these things- crawling, walking etc and some even jump some milestones, for example, some babies don't get to crawl before they start walking. On the diet, I don't think you and your baby are doing badly in this area as well. You're doing a good job with breastfeeding. Please continue doing this till at least the 1st birthday. If he/she doeasn't cry often as a sign of hunger then you may continue with the pap and milk but if he/she always seem hungry, then you may want to try other semi-solids or mild solids but please don't force the child to eat. Well-wishers always give different advises to 1st time moms, some of these are good while some are outright detrimental to the child. Please before applying any advise, ensure it's good for you and your baby. It's best to have a paediatrician or get a good site where you'll get quality information. I recommend www.babycentre.com |

It takes experience to tell. Hope to experience it someday. Meanwhile, loving oneself is the greatest gift you can give yourself. |
Don't bother arguing with her. You just prove it to her that there are still men who won't cheat. The way you handle your relationship with her will make her change her view of men. The society today has made a lot of people hold the same view as your girl. Too many cheats around. Even so-called religious peeps do it, so who else can one trust? ![]() |
soreola:Oh I see. Thanks. |
Is there no fixed date for mothers' day? It's like the date changes every year or am I wrong? Anyway, to all mothers, happy mothers' day. It's a great job, overwhelming, sweet, to be a mother! And to the mothers-to-be and those pleading to God for the fruit of the womb, may your prayers be answered. |
Most men cheat and those who claim not to in the name of morality or religion will still do it, given the opportunity and right environment. But I believe there are still few, very few who'll withstand all odds and not cheat throughout. But these ones are extremely rare! |
Many peeps do it. they don't just announce to people that they do because of the way people react to such. |
Yes, she should tell her dad. So that the old randy hands would be put on check. |

I was the one who designed my wedding IV. I only showed it to my hubby after it was ready. I put his name first because I liked it that way. Actually I broke a lot of conventions during my wedding. I believe in doing things my own way as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. OP If you don't mind whether his or your name comes first and your partner does, then I suggest you go his way. |
I don't usually like the idea of growing a family apart. It has more disadvantages than advantages, especially for a new marriage like yours. You and your spouse need to spend time together to get to know each other and this cannot be achieved by living apart. Now, in your own case, I don't see much difference between the Lagos and Ibadan environment. Wherever your children grow up, it is the value you instill in them that is more important than where they're brought up. A lot of families grew in Lagos and are doing fine. Mine is an example. |

No, I didn't change my signature and I don't plan changing it. Is it necessary? I don't think so. |
@bolded This is even enough to discourage a muslim from participating in what you do. a muslim does not live life as they want, they live it according to the guidance and directives of their creator, Allah. In a nutshell, your thread is better off in the fashion section, you won't get what you want here. Goodluck. olusolami: |
